In Croatia, a high-flying detour and puzzling roadblock, gave Tyler & Korey there 4th win in a row!

Meanwhile, Chris & Bret gave up a huge lead, sealing their fate!

5 teams remain, who will be eliminated next?

DETOUR: HIGH OR DRY?

High: Pull a cow to the top of a clock tower, in under 40 seconds!  :funny:
Dry: Ride to a farm and then jump across a ditch (SwitchBack). After complete, grab cheese and eggs and jump back over the ditch, to receive your next clue!

They did poorly this leg with getting lost to detour decision point and failing to check the eggs.
They clearly did not lose because of bad luck.

This leg did a lot of things right:
- no spoonfed flights
- tandem biking
- self driving
- W-Turn after the Detour
- task before the Pit Stop (to make up for lack of Roadblock)

But it was still kind of boring? I think the Detour needed to be a bit more challenging.

Not sure where this would fall in my leg rankings. I’ll update tomorrow.

ETA: I think part of the reason it was boring is Team Fun was in last for basically the entire leg.

First of all, I liked how teams used five types of transportation this leg. The Detour was okay. The cow hoisting task was not that exciting. I'm not so sure about the Dutch pole-vaulting over a canal used three times, (the only time this task worked was the in TAR 12). It finally happened, we get a U-Turn AFTER the Detour! :conf:  The boat task I personally enjoyed, because of all the twists and turns it had. Also more self driving this leg.

I liked this episode!

LOVED the Moo-Moo Detour, that was very funny to watch!  :funny:

But, why was there no Roadblock in this leg? ???

And how many people was in the Pit Stop island? How many NDAs did those people have to sign! :funny:

Apparently it's only Team Fun until things really aren't going their way, lol. We saw this dark side of Becca back in 29 when Floyd lost the passports.

It was nice leg.... The fact that they have self drive themselves to the determined location in three different transportation types, it was really good touch, the detour was good, could have added a little bit more challenging, surprise double u-turn came really handy this time, especially where they put it after the detour to add the intense, and the final task to the pitstop was really great, best ARI task in a while, love how they struggled to drive themselves to the marked bot and to the pitstop while avoiding crowds on the canal, really great touch, and wish we have more theis thing in the future, overall a very nice leg

This leg was really made by the self-navigation, that element of the race should never have gone away.  Having to navigate to the pit stop should always be an important element. 

The detour wasn't that great, probably some lenient judging as well.  No way Nicole ever made it to the other side of the ditch.

It's really unfortune for Nicole & Victor. The Afghanimals shouldn't have U-turned them over the Funanimals, especially on Nicole's birthday. At least, they survived.

Based on things from this episode and other ones, it seems like there's a lot of hidden animosity toward Victor/Nicole from the Race teams :duno:  I wonder if some stuff has been edited out that we haven't seen

I really like this leg. Although it doesn't have a Roadblock, but all tasks seems really hard to do and physically demanding anyway.

- The whole tandem bike riding is physically exhausting, especially in the middle of the day and it looks like teams navigated a pretty long way with that.
- The pole vault Detour has a good twist. Instead of making it a two times Switchback, they added more "seasoning" to the tasks to make it harder. But I wonder why it seemed easier than the first two executions (TAR 12 & TAR 21). Transporting eggs with the pole looks really tricky, and finally what I wished come true when Becca didn't realize that the eggs were not intact.
- I also didn't like to see Floyd throwing those cheeses like that across to the other side. If it's fake cheese then it's fine, but I'm sure that it's REAL cheese and it's a FOOD. You're not throwing food made by someone else's effort like that, especially with a risk of it's falling to the irrigation ditch. :groan: :groan: :groan:
- The cow Detour looked pretty slow phasing. It begins with teams following the tractor. I think it would be much harder if one team should drive the tractor and the other ride the bicycle by themselves. :lol:
- The final challenge in Giethoorn is awesome! I didn't know that the place is that big. With other people travelling through the canal with boats here and there really made the canal more difficult to navigate, especially with two boats behind them.
- Does anyone remember Tyler & Korey being called idiot by a local in Giethoorn? And also Leo & Jamal were scolded by the locals when they're making a wrong way? Usually we see locals cheering for the team, but when they're scolded it's really funny. :funny: :funny:

This episode proved why I don't like Team Fun. It seems that teams that were really positive in terms of attitude in the whole race can turn 180-degrees when something wrong happened to them. Yeah me too. I'm sure the clue also clearly said that the last team to arrive WILL be eliminated.

It's either they hoped for some kind of miracle, they hoped that the production is "lying", or they're desperate already but trying to be "Team Fun" all the way to the end. But, based on Becca's reaction in the end, it seems that she's honestly and really surprised by their elimination.

My opinions on the usage of the double U-Turn:
I don't mind that Leo & Jamal used it as payback, because it's all part of the game, but did they have to gloat so darn much about it? Learn some class, please.
And thank you to Victor & Nicole for correctly using the U-Turn by putting it on the one team that you know is behind you, so that you have more of a fighting chance to not come in last. Future racers, take note

Who knows. The editing at the Pit Stop's been getting weirder by the season and this one's no exception. Most eliminations they've zoomed in on half of the team and Phil barely says anything.

If you've just biked many miles to realise you have to go back again because of a stupid mistake you're not exactly gonna be in a good mood. Whilst they're not my favourite team, they're nice people who just had a bad day.

While I wouldn't be happy, I wouldn't take it out on the person judging the task.  Personally team fun isn't my cup of tea.  Floyd is ok, but Becca comes off as phony to me.  I've known far too many people like that.

For everyone that wonder why there's no RB this leg, I think it's because the show want to avoid a default RB in the semifinals. As of leg 10, each person had done 5 RB. If teams went into the semifinals with uneven RB count, one member from each team would be forced to do the RB and that could cause unfair results.

Coming into this season there were a few locations that I wasn't thrilled about (UAE, Switzerland, and Netherlands). Some of these legs like UAE & Swiss 2 did exceed my expectations, but this leg didn't. I did like the large amount of self-navigating with the bikes, the cars, and the boats. It was a little surprising to see the post-Detour U-Turn back, since Phil said preseason that he didn't see a difference in the U-Turn placement. Now I don't mind the pre-Detour U-Turn when all the teams are on equal footing like in Laos. However, this leg really showed the difference in the placement as Nicole & Victor wouldn't have been U-Turned had the U-Turn come before the Detour. Unfortunately, the U-Turn removed most of the tension from the leg. Team Fun was never shown catching up to Nic & Vic, so it never really felt like they had a chance especially after the hairline crack on the egg. Sad to see Team Fun go out in the same spot this season, but at least they were able to finish the leg. Looking forward to next week, and I hope we get an exciting finale.

High: The 40 second time limit made the actual hoisting just difficult enough; however, teams didn't have to do as much compared to the other task.
Dry: I think TAR 21 showed that the ditch vaulting can't be its own task this late into the season. So, I like that it was combined with the egg and cheese delivery due to the intact rule. I am annoyed that the judges were too lenient on some of the jumps. Apparently the only requirement was not sliding down the pole.
Boat Train: This task gave great local interactions; however, because of the narrow canals and slow boat speed, the only way teams could pass each other is if a team missed the boats. So, a luck task is deciding who will remain after a U-Turn.

This was an okay leg, I think the last task with the boats saved the leg.
The detour was ok, but we were missing a task or two. Maybe a small roadblock at the Jachthaven place (first stop after the bike) would have helped a bit?

They ran 11 legs in season 23, 11 legs in season 24, and 10 legs currently in season 31, which make 32 legs. By the next leg, when they reach the Pit Stop, will they officially become the team who run the most legs, which is 33 legs?

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I like this leg, although not great like Croatian leg. I like self-navigation aspect (bicycle, car) and Netherlands always give us beautiful scenery  :)x  :2hearts:
Boat task was good but i disappointed there was no roadblock. And judges at the 'switchback' made it easy, racers' body should reach the other side and not fall into the water

I also feel similar towards Becca. I quite like seeing Floyd, he looks like a natural fun person, but Becca always looks a bit act for the camera to me. And to be honest this time they lost due to her fault, it is very obvious that the trick of transporting eggs is to make sure they don't crack. In their first round it was obvious she did the pole vault then left without even checking the eggs one by one, given that they know how far the market is they should have spared just one minute to check and make sure the eggs are intact. This is a very fatal mistake for a TAR team.

Do you think they had to cancel the original leg?  That could explain why the U-Turn setup was kind of clunky and why there were odd "clueboxes" like a red pouch hanging from a random tree.
