There's the dance task I said in the ep 3 live thread was quickly shown.
And the pool looks like synchronized diving, not swimming. Which apparently is a lot more difficult having watched some on TV.
First guess is it's a Beijing 2008 related task, but not sure where it is, it has a distinctive ceiling, as did the Olympic venue, but it's not a match.

The diving place takes place at the Ying Tung Natatorium, which hosted the water polo events at the 2008 Olympics ^
Looks like both Karen and Bert are doing the dance task.
So spec: Detour is synchronized diving or dancing. Ri: Great Wall of China task.

Since Canada won two silvers in diving at the 2008 Olympics i can predict this task will be the leg's 150 Challenge.
BTW where is the 150 Challenge last episode. It isn't there, right?

Guess not. Thought every leg would have a 150 task.
A friend from high school is a Beijing Olympian (runner), it was his first, and it unfortunately did not go well. He was the Canadian who unfortunately tripped in the 1500m. Also made it to London and Rio, fortunately.

The troubles they had really surprise me, considering they have a specialized agency as one of the season's main sponsors and when the TAR China filmed a leg in the city last year. Couldn't they had more support from local production staff. At least from what I experienced from the US production, at least in Sao Paulo they relied a lot on local production people.
With the travel documentation issue shouldn't the funeral directors been cut before race start?
And what about the rule book about paying the cab fares, to be able to be checked in, is that only for the US.

Asia Season 3 and 4 had teams not pay their taxi drivers, and they had to go back and pay.

What a mess. I think under normal circumstances, production would have swapped these two legs out for another destination BUT they were obligated to proceed with their sponsor. As for the Mother & Son team: wouldn't casting have filed for visas for backup teams before the final cut? Did they want this team THAT bad or did they proceed to cast them knowing they'd be an early-out?
I wonder how this fiasco will affect next season's route.

It sounds like this is partially a case of bad timing.
Not to be political, but they had it planned in advance, and filming unfortunately happened to come at a time when Trump was agitating them and N Korea. So security was up.
