Wow.... A really good news :conf:
-
Now lets hope that stupid show the voice doesnt win :res:
-
I think drag race is its biggest competition this time to be honest.
-
Great news! :conf: :hoot: :bunny :colors :yess:
-
The episode that most deserved to be the submission :bunny
Hopefully this year the drought ends, and it doesn't go to The Voice yet again.
-
The episode that most deserved to be the submission :bunny
Tanzania 1: Episode 3 "bucket List Stuff"
-
I still wish the Ninh Binh episode get submitted instead, but then most of the TAR29 episode sans Milan/Lake Como episode was great as well so yay choosing Tanzania 1 episode. :conf:
I'd be really surprised if TAR doesn't win this year Emmy.
-
I think TAR submits three, then the Academy peeps pick the one that is used. So Would hope VietNam was one of them!
-
In the nomination process, TAR usually submits one episode for consideration in the technical categories, but for the series category, it's basically a popular vote and name recognition. Voters are not required to watch a single episode to vote in the series categories. But shows will of course encourage voters to check out their show (though magazine ads, billboards, etc) and with everything online now, entire seasons are made available.
(In the past when a DVD mailer was the main way to campaign and get a show out there to voters, reality shows would highlight one episode and that one episode held much more importance before than it does now.)
After nominations, comedy and drama programs submit 6 episodes that voters are technically required to watch before casting their vote. But that rule is not strictly enforced and it is all based on an honor system. I'm not sure if reality-competition programs also submit more than one episode during final voting. But if it's only one, then it'll be that episode submitted for consideration in technical categories from the nomination round.
Also, any eligible Emmy voter can, but is not required to, vote in series categories. And the big change last year, which actually might disadvantage TAR, is that winners are chosen through straight voting and a nominee wins based on plurality. So a program can win with as little as 17% of the total vote. Previously, it was a preferential/ranked ballot and voters would rank the nominees. The one with the lowest score (most #1 and #2 ranks, for example) would win. TAR could very well have benefited from being ranked high on most voters' lists, even if not ranked 1st.
Another interesting note about this year's Emmys is the introduction of Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program category. TAR was not nominated.

Nervous for the Emmy :/
Good vibes to everyone! If there's a season that deserved it it sure as hell was this season! :conf:
-
*prays for a win* :conf: :hoot: :bunny

Tonight!
-
The Voice won
-
AGHHHH the voice won AGAIN :dick
-
Them and their spinning chairs. Again. F*ck
-
i want to scream at emmy voters i dont think they can even name a SINGLE voice contestant... its total derivative garbage that somehow gets so many viewers and it robs a show with actual effort, heart, and drive.
considering how great tar29 was and the closest thing to the old era for the franchise, im truly truly upset.
-
I enjoy the Voice. But as someone said last year...
Spinning chairs vs THE WORLD?
Sorry . No comparison.
-
Could the viewership have hurt us? There's admittedly not as much publicity for TAR as we've had since we got dumped to Fridays and had the schedule play around with us for 29 :dick
-
I think the category is the problem.
The Voice is a TALENT Show.
TAR is a REALITY COMPETITION Show.
They need to fix that.
-
Can't really say I'm surprised. The show hasn't won in a couple years, and this season certainly didn't improve anything. Last year's nominated episode was the one in the French mountains right? If that didn't win, it's going to be a long road back, and TAR needs to embrace what got it the awards in the first place.
-
The Voice is also a reality competition show.
The Academy defines it as "Reality-Competition programs include any program with a competition element that gives a prize or title, including game shows."
You can't separate reality shows that focus on singing and dancing or ones that focus on fashion or travel or sports. There wouldn't be enough shows to be nominated. Fact is all these shows fall under the pretty specific category of Reality-Competition Program.
Maybe, just maybe, TAR itself is the problem. At least part of it.

I agree with you 100% here gamer. The produces spent MANY hours working on a great route for us to enjoy, only then to be just be robbed by a show that has horrible singers and stupid spinny chairs!
What has the world come to?
-

Let me add to that, The Voice has just a stage whereas The Amazing Race where the world is their stage.
-
TAR has won 10 times (even for below-average seasons like S18 & 20 and even awful one like S14)...sometimes other shows deserve it too.

AMEN!!

It's just a bummer. It's like comparing an exotic car (The Amazing Race) to a minivan (The Voice). The way The Amazing Race is produced alone is truly amazing, that alone deserves an award. I lost interest in The Voice because most of the really talented singers do not make it in the live shows, the same way American Idol did.

It's not even a minivan - The Voice is that random destroyed car you see gutted in a junkyard

below-average seasons like S18
...which still produced better tasks, locations, and winners than S11.
On-topic: serves the show right for over-manufactured gimmicks!
-
TAR 11 (aka the real All-Stars) is the best returnee season of any RTV show. TAR18 didn't have any real momentum till have half-way through the season.

Omitting Survivor: Heroes versus Villains already?
The fact that AS1 spent too many legs in Hispanophone South America and had a damned luck task to determine its finale both categorically disqualify it.
UB began with almost as big a bang as its watermelony predecessor and kept up the high-octane excitement from Oceania to Asia, the latter's overload balanced by three culturally distinct nations.
