There was a major news conference in HK March 23.

Major things:

Filming to start in early May.

Another Celebrity Edition

Will have an Indiana Jones type search for a treasure Item each leg

Some sort of partner exchange towards the end.

I wonder if that new twist is like an Intersection, but switch partners to complete a task and then reunite with your real partner afterwards. That would be interesting actually. As long as it's not a permanent switch until the end.

Been reading a bit about the new season, will update this post, as I go through some articles.

There's a new title sponsor for the season 黑黑乳 which is a line of sesame based instant drinks.

Just as Season 3 had an Olympic Games theme, the new season is subtitled "Raiders of the Lost Ark" - that's the Indiana Jones bit of the season, with all destinations having some ties to historic sites, with historical ties with China (It almost reminded me how TAR Can international legs, try to always tie them to Canada).

Just a reminder for the those who haven't followed TAR China before, even though there's a map showing all the destinations, unlike most other entries to the franchise the show is not filmed continually. It is filmed in small bursts with a few legs at a time.

Unless some of the individual celebrities listed are actually racing together as Friends. Couldn't get a confirmation either way. So for now, I am listing them as separate teams.

It never gets old how the Asia versions announce up front, "these are our teams! And here's everywhere we're going to go!". Makes tracking filming so much easier :D

And if it is Jin Xing and Hans again, hopefully they don't need to be saved 2 legs in a row. That kinda soured me on them :(

I re-uploaded the pictures showing the celebrities from the press conference, but still haven't been able to track down  the proper team breakdown whether we're actually getting 13 teams or whether some of the celebs listed individually will actually participate together. Added a few names.

What a weird production process. So it seems despite the press event unveiling those celeb, things have changed again, regarding who's racing.

Joe Cheng was actually lsited among the celebs on the initial press release for the season, but he wasn't included in the celeb reveal press conference. Which makes this even more confusing.
3) 修杰楷(Xiu Jie Kai, actor from Taipei, Taiwan) and 賈靜雯 (Alyssa Chia, Actress from Taipei, Taiwan) - Married
4) 吳敏霞 WuMinXia and spouse. (1st link says boyfriend, second link says spouse, not sure which one is correct)

Ooo! I like that dragon boat task. Looks like it would be a great Starting Line task.

I don't know about the Invaders. I wasn't a fan in season 2, even though both Invader teams were good and should've been teams from the start. I loved season 3 because of how "normal" it was. But we'll see.

Season 2 was a mess because of the dramatic change of rules from original US version
Season 3 was great as they try to stick more to the leg structure of normal, standard TAR leg

Articles and promo do seem to imply (emphasis on IMPLY) the teams will collect something at each leg, that ties to the "Raiders of the Lost Arc" theme of the season, which might get into play in the final leg.

The new season will debut in early July.
(With TAR Can also debuting early July, lots of TAR goodness to look forward to).

Will use this post to create the racers list along the day - gotta do some actual IRL work, Will try to update in small bursts during the day.

The "Diva Team". Seemed they were paired together without prior relationship. Evonne is almost someone I'd call a Hsie-Shin ( Read my explanation of what's that on the Season 3 thread), which makes the pairing even more unique.

Production usually test out tasks one day ahead of actual filming, which they even film for making off segments, that might be reasoning if we have sources pointing to permits for filming lasting 2 days.

The flight might still work.
As, they do like to either do line-up start of leg or even starting at the hotel, so we might have team arriving with this flight anyway, but heading to the hotel, for an early start tomorrow.

ETA. As Allan is in town, without racers, he's likely shooting all the sponsor inserts that they'll be using during the leg.

I do forget that it's Summer in the North Hemisphere, meaning longer daylight.

Someone posted the upcoming filming dates on weibo a few hours ago, not sure how reliable. Is mixture of destinations teased on the map from march, to the destinations on the promo. So I really don't know what to trust anymore.
