Week 1 + a 7 day dvr count, ranked first in the country with 2.053 million viewers, however this is by far the least viewed episode EVER of The Amazing Race Canada. So a mixed bag.

Episode two drew 1.989 million viewers, barely beating America's got talent which airs at the same time. I guess this is what is cannibalizing the viewership. This is also the first episode ever which drew under 2 million viewers.

Ouch, and AGT has just started, too, unfortunately. TARC's going to be competing with it all season long.
The ratings might have been about usual otherwise due to a bump from Jemmett and Ashley (both have large Canadian followings, moreso Ashley).
-
Do you guys not see the funny irony that AMERICA'S got Talent is potentially beating The Amazing Race CANADA in CANADA?
But for sure, I hope TARCAN improves. Season 3 deserved to drop below 2 million, this season does NOT!

thinking about it... if the viewership was being cannibalized then it would show with much more ppl watching in DVR, but the 7 day dvr count is already in the total.
I can't help think that the TARUS timeslot has lost a lot of fans. :(
-
Summertime is a bad time here, people are outside or on vacation and tend to watch later. Is that not the case in Canada?

The previous seasons were all Summer too.
I think a lack of promotion is also to blame, remember when we got our cast reveal pretty late?
-
What I find odd is the lack of press releases. No title? No press blurb about the ep? No second preview? No press pics?
Or maybe I just am looking in the wrong places. ???
What about you Canadians? How much Pre-episode TV commercials/ads/publicity is there? News paper articles etc?
-
It's a shame that TAR Canada is not doing well with ratings. This season so far I think has been the best yet!
-
Day change? I'd hate to lose my summer fix of TAR

Week 5, beat Week 4 in total viewers and finished first in its timeslot (beating AGT), however AGT on Wed night was the number 1 ranked show of the week, meaning TARCAN was second for the second straight week

^^^Is that good or bad?
-
Week 5 was back on top! #1 with 1.945 million
I guess this sends the message :P Viewers are slightly more interested in the legs within Canada.
-
Ouch, ouch, and double-ouch.
Episode 6 was the worst-rated ever. 4th, 1.585 million.

That's what happens when you try to compete with the Olympics (Opening Ceremonies was 1st, Primetime was 2nd), and no surprise who was 3rd.
I don't expect Episode 7 to do much better since it was in the middle of the Olympics. Goodbye budget for increased international legs in a season 5, if any :(
-
Highly expected to have a hit from the Olympics, do your ratings include a 3 day delay for rewatch?
Ep 7 is a recap so doubt that will be live watched either.
Lets see what happens next week!!

It includes a 7 day!! playback.
It lost by 400k viewers against AGT, and the top 2 were NOT against Tarcan. This is surprising.
-
Well at least there isn't a real show tonight. That will get it through the Olympics (Closing Ceremonies are this weekend)
-
Episode 7 rose slightly. 1.676M, 3rd behind the Olympics and nowhere near close. CBC's weekend coverage was just shy of 3M.

That special didn't even chart on the Top 30.
It was really more of an eTalk special than an episode, anyway :P
-
Ratings were a day late for some reason. After the week off, Episode 8 was back at #1 with 1.789M
