I often wonder if people camp outside LAX hoping to see the teams depart.
LA start again???? :gaah: :gaah:
LA start again???? :gaah: :gaah:
So are the individuals paired up or is it solely individual?
Check the live-sightings guys.
I am actually really interested in this new twist!
I like the twist but I don't want the results to be an overload of one team type.Check the live-sightings guys.

Just checked. This could be interesting.
Am I the only one who thinks that the concept of a schoolyard pick is boring?

Please be more specific of why you think this twist is boring!
I think it's interesting... if you have first pick, who do you go for? You don't know anyone at all really so how can you judge who to pick? Do you go for muscle, brains or someone you think you'll get along with?? Easily could be a million dollar decision!
6 mf 1mm 2ff for me

THIS!!
I'm actually sold on this one. It is a pick that could cost you a million dollars or win a million dollars. Definitely different from Survivor's Schoolyard Pick.
One of the sightings say that TAR is now Thursdays? :yess:
The Big Bang leadin would be great!

Can you repost the link for me please? I m probably hallucinating from exhaustion lol!
If TAR goes to 8PM Thursday, it would be replacing Big Bang Theory and the new comedy Great Indoors. Not likely. Especially after CBS went to the trouble of setting up a night of comedy. Sticking TAR in the middle of that would be weird.

If Big Bang goes to midseason though, it may be reruns as TBBT would be on break. TAR could easily fit in like how Survivor leads off a night of Procedurals on Wednesday.
8PM Pacific time does = 11PM EST.
Just saying. :funny:
I LOVE letting the racers pick! FAR better than having it assigned!!

When you have this (from the spoiler discussion thread):6 mf 1mm 2ff for me
... I'm not thrilled. I'm hoping that the route is the saving grace.
Oh my glob! A racer with a prosthetic leg! :nut:
My wish finally came true! :hearts: Hopefully this team goes far, and they're 1st at the airport. Wow!
I love it as well! It's really sad for me that there's only 1 FF and 1 MM team, but at least they both look really competitive.I think it's interesting... if you have first pick, who do you go for? THAT season? I know what you're referring to, but Survivor did it several times!I'm actually sold on this one. It is a pick that could cost you a million dollars or win a million dollars. Definitely different from Survivor's Schoolyard Pick.
Regarding the part in bold: But that season turned out to be a bag of fail. One tribe dominates. Not fun.

Just when I thought we had 2 F/F teams, turns out the other one was actually a male with longer hair. :groan: :funny:I had to look a 2nd time to realize the same thing. People with fabulous hair can look deceiving, especially from the back. :funny:
At least the MM and FF are equal. When I saw it was a Schoolyard pick, I knew a lot of boys would pick hot girls and the same for the girs with boys. I hope there's any old racer (If there's any, I bet it was the last picked).
I thought team 7 was all female for some reason lolLol so did I!!!
I don't like the twist but I am open to seeing how it will turn out.
And if it sucks we have TARC4 and TARA5 which are sticking to the traditional format.
I don't know if you'll all agree to this but I think it would have been better if production somehow dictated if they announced that there are only 5 slots for M/F teams, 3 slots for F/F teams and 3 slots for M/M teams.
Her LinkedIn profile noted she's Miss Fort Worth USA 2010 2nd Runner Up.
I liked the idea of a Schoolyard Pick because it is a million dollar decision but there's also a letdown for me, there's too much M/F teams, 9 teams and only 1 each F/F & M/M. It's the singles choice, I respect that, but production could have done something to balance it out. I don't know if you'll all agree to this but I think it would have been better if production somehow dictated if they announced that there are only 5 slots for M/F teams, 3 slots for F/F teams and 3 slots for M/M teams.
Okay, now that the second leg has begun, it's time for me to stay away from most of this and only check the locations
Here's hoping we get some undervisited countries!
The racers may have picked the next one to come in, or did they have to wait until all were present to pick?
All they need is to look at the blondes and they already have ripe material for criticising and being negative about the cast

They always bitch about "superficial model pretty people" and most of the girls cast that look that way on both Survivor/BB/TAR get preseason casual hate.

Best example on recent-era TAR seasons are Tiffany & Krista pre-season. All the casual comments saying they were stupid dumb and only had looks to back themselves up :res:
For some reason, the majority of hate is directed to female contestants and I can't quite understand why. Aside from Justin, I don't think any casual has hated another male racer for quite some time in recent-era seasons while girls like Kelly/Shevonne (iirc casuals hated them preseason and after their boot they kept going negative about them and saying thank goodness they were out first lol), Blair (Scott/Blair), Hayley, Logan (Logan/Chris), Dana (Dana/Matt) received equally if not as much vitrol.
Particularly Dana and Hayley.
Love the sounds of the identified racers already. A marine who lost a leg serving, the bearded guy (if that's who he is), the casuals sure can't say there are no "real people" on this cast!
Either I didn't get the memo but did Phil end his hosting stint at TAR 28? I just watched a video of the teams from the starting line and the guy host looked more muscular. I watched it clearly and it not match Phil's body type :gaah:
Can anybody tell me what is going on, I'm a but worried :iok
Teams 5 6 and 7: the black man/white woman (her name is Becca) and two other m/f teamsAll the three teams arrived together
OMG GUYS IF THE BEARD TEAM REALLY WON    <3I just wonder the beared man may refer to scott from team#3?
I swear to God, they looked so weak... like first boots even and then they won the leg like randomly after being dead last on the way to Panama? <3
Please deliver personality-wise on the show <3333333

Can we now have a leg in South Africa?
Omg. What's funny is they seem like the least fit maybe even least compatible team (a misfit team). ( I'm sure there great people though) I put them in last for my season prediction. LOL :funny: Glad there making it further than what people expect.OMG GUYS IF THE BEARD TEAM REALLY WON    <3I just wonder the beared man may refer to scott from team#3?

No, its the team 11, the really beard man
I think this season will really deliver. TAR26 proved that strangers can do great in the race. And because they eliminate that Blind-date thing, we will not hear Phil asking the teams about their love relationship every pit stop.He still might ask them since they're all mostly M/F teams. lol

But they didn't come here for finding love in the first place like TAR26.

Yes Please :funny:
The only F/F team may be eliminated which is sad, as well as the Asian M/F couple :( but that Team #11, the bearded guy and denim jeans girl is giving me life. Indeed a surprise, coming in 1st this leg. :o

Having that info rechecked, believe it is incorrect as they were in the last 4 at the RB????
Phil told at pit stop that the bearded man & woman was team number 10 last leg and go all the way to firstAmazing! :o

Edited the original post above. Interesting find Peach, so are all the placements going to change? ???
Another visit to Brazil without going to Brasilia, Manaus or Recife (:;)
And i would like to see them go South America - Asia, not South America - Africa or Europe (:;) (:;)

Australia is indeed overdue for a visit (season 18). Too bad Melbourne during last season's filming turned out to be Israel and not us :(You can add New Zealand as well (last visit was TAR22). Yeah it sad to see Melbourne not featured on TAR28 but in retrospect I'm glad it didn't waste on the meh-****ty TAR28 cast.
But they're probably headed to Africa or Europe as per usual.
The F/F's sightings at the metro (partially?) cost them the race. Ironically, it was our first photo sighting of Sao Paulo. :o

As much as I'd love for that sighting of Egypt to be true, it likely isn't :(
That country's probably still not safe enough.

Will Columbia was not safe
I think we might have lost them for 2 legs already?Possibly. Hopefully they show up soon. I'm tired at looking at paint dry if you know what I mean :funny:. If they have an extended pitstop, its possible we may not see them again until Sat/Sun.
And because the first 2 legs were in different countries, legs 3 and 4 might take place in the same country (speculation).

I mentioned this a couple of seasons back, but one list of places to keep an eye on are those countries and regions of countries that Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown has visited outside the U.S. since its original season premiered in 2013. TAR 28's visit to Cartagena, Columbia is one such place. Another that might be relevant for leg 3 is Salvador, Brazil. it's far enough northeast of Rio and Sao Paolo to have to fly (near the Equator) and the Bourdain episode there relevant several things of interest that could be used for Race tasks in a beautiful tropical setting.
Bourdain has now been to Cuba, Myanmar, (and the Republic of Georgia at almost the same time as TAR 28), so it is something I think is worth considering in trying to pick up where the Racers may be ATM.
TAR13 says hello :waves:
PLS LET THERE BE A SIGHTING WHEN I WAKE TOMORROW!!! :funny:
Lol. I hope they don't go missing all season. If they do, it probably means lots of new locations will be visited. :didimiss: That or the crew was just like "Screw it. Let's go home, guys." :funny:PLS LET THERE BE A SIGHTING WHEN I WAKE TOMORROW!!! :funny:
That's exactly what I said before TARC's disappearance for several days was solved by an Instagram post after the fact :funny:
But yeah. Wherever they flew off to, they obviously blended in well. There has to have been at least 2 legs since Sao Paolo by now.

I'm thinking that Leg 3 probably either some country in South America with little internet or the Amazon countryside, and Leg 4 maybe in Africa. Cuba's a long shot.
 for a sighting coming soon.Really soon, hopefully.

It's just nearly a week without sightings after teams left Brazil. Maybe they shouldv'e passed to Europe.
:( :gaah: :groan:
Why couldn't I have known they were going to Norway? Ålesund (the Norwegian spelling) is only a few hours away and I would love to follow the race and maybe meet Phil :( With me having summer vacation and also having relatives near the city I could stay with when the teams leave, I am so dissapointed
The other day I told Candi Lee that
I tend to think your one of the best detectives for TAR US.
and that could not be more true. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
Kudos to Candi and RFF team!

I would have loved to have you help, I am so sorry....
BUT there is still lots to be done!! You speak the language...could you please search FB/twitter/the news/ for more sightings? Would love airport sighting of arrival...you can be a big help!!
No, I just meant help us figure out how/where they arrived?
If Norway is Leg 5 or 6, I hope we finally get mid-Race Asia Legs after such a long time.
Zanzibar, Tanzania, and Norway. <3
I wish they visit Finland instead of Norway tho.

This route looks amazing. Please just don't step anywhere near China. Can I repost this for emphasis?
Just stay in Europe 1 more leg.. go to like somewhere Mongolia + Asia (never visited before) for 3 legs or remote then go to Oceania (Aussie or NZ) for 2 legs then back to America.
PLS

QuoteThe WRAP:
We spoke with your fellow producer Jerry Bruckheimer earlier this week. He told us that you guys always have more good ideas up your sleeve. Can you project on the future of the Race? What do you have to do in the next season shooting this summer to make sure this becomes a multiple season pickup?
Elise Doganeiri:
Jerry Bruckheimer is right, we do have more good ideas up our sleeve. Hmmm, what can I say to be honest I have to keep it all under wraps but I will tell you, we have a fantastic cast lined up, exciting new places and challenges, and a new twist like you have never seen before.

Well Elise said this. It's pretty much what they say every season, but obviously this time they meant "like you have never seen before" literally as far as the cast.

There go my hopes and dreams for Lithuania to be visited :funny:
Italy is a bit eh for me. But I'm flying to Milan this Sunday, why couldn't the race have waited ;D
I guess, if it turns out that's where they're stopping, Milan proper would make a nice leg. It's barely been visited (1 route marker and Fast Forward at the beginning of Season 4 was it).
But Italy's kind of up there on the # of seasons visited list.
It would be interesting if we got a night leg in Milan.
Weird thing is a couple days ago I was re watching TAR 4 Leg 1 where they went to Milan.
A couple days before the Sao Paulo leg, I re watched TAR 9 Leg 1 where they went to Sao Paulo.
Which first leg should I watch next :funny:

New U-turn Board again lol
New U-turn Board again lol
I like the new W-turn designs so far. They're way better than the speedbump ones.
I'm amazed at the route so far but still waiting for the new places Elise was talking about, excited to know what these countries are.I've posted this before, but everyone should understand that new places doesn't necessarily mean new countries. :P

Wow I'm loving the lack of double legs!Quoted for emphasis!
Venice at this time of the year? Awful! Should of saved it for a late fall season. I have heard it smells in the summer.
Really hoping that the next leg being in Slovenia! It's a new country that TAR has never visited and only a few hours drive from Venice!! Please make this happen! :trampb:I would prefer them go to Asia then Oceania and make this a 6 continent race
PLEASE Aus or NZ!! Then I would like a west coast non LA finale....
I've never been this pleased with the route in a long long time. They just need to avoid China, Thailand and Malaysia at all cost. And Indonesia of course!!!!

And Japan. These above stated countries are over visited.
As this is the Bitch, Moan & Squeal thread, I would definitely bitch and moan if they visited the Philippines and South Korea on penultimate legs AGAIN. Both countries have only had 2 visits each and they've always been with no more than 4 teams ever racing in them.
I don't get how when they go there is an issue? There are a lot of tasks and Racing and fun and drama when there are more teams.
I don't get how when they go there is an issue? There are a lot of tasks and Racing and fun and drama when there are more teams.
I disagree for sure about the tasks. On average there are more tasks in later legs.I mean there are lots of tasks that are much better executed for entertainment and drama purposes when there are more teams. The various Switchbacks are perfect examples of that.
MYANMAR!!!!
I totally won't mind Cambodia or Laos either. Singapore, Philippines and Indonesia are very recent so they will probably not visit there.
Potential of Vietnam <3333Honestly I wouldn't want this because I believe Canada can do better. (and they filmed there this year)
Those are just 2 names for the same country :funny:Potential of Vietnam <3333Honestly I wouldn't want this because I believe Canada can do better. (and they filmed there this year)

Long time lurker of the forums...been an Amazing Race fan since day one and always check for the location spoilers, excited to be in on the fun. 😊Welcome to RFF :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
Vietnam has such a beautiful and varied culture, hopefully it'd be easy for them to come up with non-offensive tasks.
I wouldn't expect a Philippines leg but if there is one, they must try a new province like Boracay :yess: :yess: :yess: :yess:

?? 20seasons.. there was a Crete visit in their somewhere wasn't there? ???
If they do go to Malaysia, I hope they go to somewhere like Penang or Melaka
SOMEBODY went to Crete...:grins:
Or have I just read too many fantasy legs?? :funny:

What's with all Team 1 crying? We have spoiler about their elimination?
Does Team 1 making it mean there was an NEL in Greece?
Team 1 made it to Vietnam!!! :hearts::hearts:
YAY for guessing Vietnam correctly (like Hong Kong in S27) :cheer:
A second leg in Vietnam is highly possible
South Korea is most likely the choice for penultimate leg then :ascared
I really do not think there is a chance for Australia / New Zealand to be visited
If they want to make this race a 6-continent route, the most possible choice would be Guam or Fiji :hides
:wohoo:Team 1 made it to Vietnam!!! :hearts::hearts:
Happy for Vietnam leg :conf: Just hoping that the tasks won't be offensive to some Americans particularly the veterans, we lost some viewers because of that Season 22 incident.

Nothing about 22 Vietnam was awful. It was blown out way out of proportion and it robbed us of our well-deserved Emmy for 22 Vietnam which was arguably the best leg of the season.
I still remember the idiotic video from Fox News... they legitimately called the Double U-Turn "offensive" because "they had to run around the crashed airplane site".

Nothing about 22 Vietnam was awful. It was blown out way out of proportion and it robbed us of our well-deserved Emmy for 22 Vietnam which was arguably the best leg of the season.

I do remember that news video you are referring, there was another news channel as well, they said they visited the downed bomber and the communist song task was viewed as offensive.
I did think that Hanoi leg had weird choices like the political posters and the downed WWII bomber, but I never found it offensive to the point FOX media had to make an anti-American slew about it. Sometimes that network brainwashes people to think every other country except The United States is horrible. But after that and stunt casting lately, the next seasons will really have to buckle down and show viewers what potential the Race has like in the later classics (9-17).Happy for Vietnam leg :conf: Just hoping that the tasks won't be offensive to some Americans particularly the veterans, we lost some viewers because of that Season 22 incident.

Didn't you mean Norway? There is no such limit of at least two legs in a single nation.
China did have a 3-legs visit in one season (season 14), though it was technically two legs as the Beijing Legs a one super legHopefully tomorrow we will see where there going for penultimate leg.

If its a Korean night leg like how TAR12 did Taiwan then it would be amazing.
Seriously... the bitching about when a leg takes place is getting slightly annoying.

Ikr... To suggest a country would be better earlier is imo dumb. The Phillippines for ex. Was bad in 25 and likely would be worse at the beginning of the race too.
I'm slightly confused. Why are you guys talking about...country in above posts...like it's confirmed?. You might want to read in the spec thread. Lots of info there today.
Nothing's been posted in Live Sightings in a day.
You're all assuming Legs can just be transplanted anywhere on the Race. Of course there are certain tasks that work better with more or less teams. That's the point. There are things that can be done with more teams or less teams and tasks that can't or wouldn't work with more or less teams.
I'm confused with the Korea stuff.Me too.
Korea penultimate Leg again?! (:;) And only 1 Leg too, if so. Korea is ripe for 2 early Legs. A Seoul/K-pop/drama Leg and a rural or southern Leg. :gaah:
There's just a notion some of us share that it's more exciting to watch legs with more teams. And having such interesting countries as South Korea visited, we want those legs to have more teams racing
And for me diversity is key, I personally want the same country to be visited at different portions of the race.
Wait, so do we have any other evidence that we could say South Korea is the penultimate leg, like team sightings? ???NO
Chicago finale! It's been a while.
REALLY??!?!Chicago finale! It's been a while.
Since season 6
It's interesting how the top 2 in Leg 9 did not make the final 3.No Redmond/male team in the finals :'(
Pretty sure Team 11 was out on Leg 8.
One of Team 3,4 or 8 finished last on Leg 9. Leg 9 was a non-elim bc all these teams were spotted later.
Leg 10/11 were elim legs.

omfg I'm so excited then
 Mind you, the deep dish pizza at Gino's East is about the contents of a 32 oz jar of tomato sauce, a 1/4 inch slice off a wheel of cheese, and carbs galore with that thick crust. I was stuffed after eating about 1/4 of the pizza with someone else. I didn't order anything else.REALLY??!?!Chicago finale! It's been a while.

CHICAGO, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! :tantrum I LITERALLY was a few blocks away from Wrigley Field and a few minutes away from West Addison Street enjoying an afternoon spa day. I don't know whether to be elated or sick to my stomach. :o :barf I'm crying on the inside.
I guess karma really was a witch after I made this comment; "Maybe we would get the home base sighting and determine where teams could have went from that." :groan:

Don't even start. You have NO idea what they did today, none of us knows the whole story yet so please don't start whining because a pizza shop was involved. I am dying to find out more, this will be so much fun!!

And in season 6, there was a lot more than just a pizza shop -- Mrs. O'Leary's barn anyone? or the railroad tracks that might have cost Kris and Jon the million dollars?

I'm already a fan of this finale. Every location sighted yesterday will bring back a lot of memories on the live broadcast. I really hope a team accidentally goes to the U.S. Cellular Field (White Sox Stadium) instead of Wrigley. That would be hilarious! And in season 6, there was a lot more than just a pizza shop -- Mrs. O'Leary's barn anyone? or the railroad tracks that might have cost Kris and Jon the million dollars?
According to Kris & Jon's post-show stuff, it wasn't as close as the editing made it seem. But I digress.
Hoping this finale is decent at least, if there's anything current TAR has done right, it's finales. (25-27 have good finales, 28, while meh and linear, was still at least better than 16/18-19 and 22-24).
I am so excited to see a Chicago finale. It looks like they got it right this time!
Am I the only one who likes the Brazil visit this season? (pre-race at least) :peek I didn't feel TAR visit Brazil during TAR27, because that leg was disappointing from leg design to editing.
With the Rio Olympics coming around the corner, that is so many more foreign people to worry about possibly catching Zika than we can imagine. The virus scare is what I am most anxious about with the upcoming festivities.Am I the only one who likes the Brazil visit this season? You aren't alone. Brazil is one of my favorite South American countries. It's surprising because they went there despite the Zika virus risk.

A place they must feature again is definitely the Iguaçu Falls which were only briefly shown back in TAR2, they could even do the border hopping thing like done in TAR27 for the Zimbabwe/Zambia leg, as only the Brazil side was featured back then, but they could also do the Argentinian and Paraguayan sides, and feature 3 countries really easily.Wow, I love that idea!

It would be so great to have the leg start in Brazil, have a task (ARI?) there, then hop to the Argentinian side for the roadblock and finally do a detour and have a pitstop in Paraguay. :colors
Or, have a leg in Brazil + Argentina, make it a KOR and have the next leg in Argentina + Paraguay!

Or Vienna & Bratislava, they're right next to each other.
I like this idea very much! They just need to pull off an awesome leg design, proper/culturally relevant tasks and great editing. This gives us other options as well such as Czech Republic-Slovakia or Qatar-Bahrain combo. They did before since S.25 with Sweden & Denmark, S.26 with France & Monaco, S. 27 with Zambia & Zimbabwe and S.28 with Switzerland & France. Other than that, I'm hoping they could bring back double-length legs.

I really like this new concept of newly formed teams.
No Zac. These are not models, or BB rejects. Many are Military, Police, or Firefighters.
I think we are going to like this cast.

Yeah I was wondering what he meant because as far as we know we only have 1 model this season.
I like the females of this cast.

Same here. The females in this season have amazing and interesting backgrounds.
Do we know approximate date when will this season start airing? I don't really get that mid season replecement thing, tbh.
And how this new schedule influence TAR30? Where is it supposed to be filming/airing?
Thanks for answer. :)

I think it's either to be aired in October/November or Jan next year. That's what I read anyway. I could be wrong

If it airs at all :(
I bet if one of the newer shows are cancelled, then CBS will replace their slot with TAR29. Remember that it is not the first time they moved the schedule up for TAR (season 12 after Viva Laughlin was eliminated). Otherwise, the season will air sometime in mid-February like usual.
Here the new shows at CBS:For Sunday slots, is a cancellation for Brain Dead bubbling?
-Bull
-Doubt
-The Great Indoors
-Kevin Can Wait
-MacGyver (who replaced TAR slot on Fridays)
-Man with a Plan
-Pure Genius
-Ransom
-Training Day
Bull air in Tuesdays 9 PM, and if it gets cancelled, would TAR move there? Or whatever, but Scream Queens from FOX are there, and I am fan of both so, any suggestions?
This must be tough for the racers right now :( Not knowing how long it's going to be before they can tell anyone about it.

This is a bitch, moan and squeal thread, so I thought I could freely express my opinion without being judged! Unfortunately, I was wrong. How sad.
This is a fantastic cast. I cannot WAIT to see them in action!Aren't you a tad disappointed there's little diversity in the occupations? :/
Many racers with those types of professions have had very stern, no-nonsense personalties (see Season 20)

Yeah that's the problem. Hopefully we get mainly interesting personalities and not bores.

I wonder what will replace the relationship or Twitter tag title underneath their team name since they are complete strangers... is it going to be just nothing?
Probably Something like Boston Cop/Army Vet for example. My guess....
Probably some stupid no-meaning ones. It's going to be difficult to establish a good "relationship" title if there is a team that has similarly skilled occupations, and then there is at least that one team with a "rock climber/pharmaceutical sales rep" type of situation. Now I am thinking the pairs may have settled on nicknames since that seems more uniform and less of a long stretch, so maybe Bourkie could have a lead on this one. Hopefully if that does occur, then they can be better thought up of than production-given ones in the past AKA "The Legal Team", "The Blonde Date", "Rx for Love", and "The Dating Couple".
Since season 27, the race has relied too much on height tasks.I like that! There's nothing better than watching racers freak out!
S27 had a lot, but S28 didn't. The Chamonix leg was the only heights task. Unless you count the water slide and the jump in bali.

I can tell you this cast is AWESOME!! They are SO excited, super friendly, incredibly diverse, and they all know and love RFF! So give this a chance please. But the comment he made for the u-turn is intorelerable though
And remember...Positivity and ratings are going to determine our future. So please try hard to find something nice to sayif you want to see TAR 30 and beyond!!
Dryed: Dave is one of the nicest men I have ever met. He and Conor had NO control over the cancer edit.. that was CBS not them. So please consider quitting hating them when it is almost certainly their edit you dislike. So over hearing people dissing them and not the edit... :groan:

I wonder what factors are being considered for a title quote to be chosen. ???
Did Michael say that the teams have unlimited U-Turns?!!! Please no, not this TAR Canada stuff

Well, teams have not been required to carry their own courtesy-of photos anymore since season 19Did Michael say that the teams have unlimited U-Turns?!!! Please no, not this TAR Canada stuff
No, just that since this was a blind U-turn it did not count. That is they can still use one non-blind U-turn. The easiest way to think about it is that they only have one courtesy-of photo so they can only use that once.
I think that the Canadian U-turn boxes had a small box on the front where teams could find courtesy-of photos.
I also think there was an old version where one team had lost their photo so they could not use the U-turn.
One of my main gripes so far is the lack of suspenseful endings. It's not really due to lazy editing, but instead due to the racers themselves.
Leg 3: The closest race to the finish we've had so far. But it was kind of obvious that the dispute with Seth & Olive's currency didn't take less than a minute.
I would LOVE to see them get caught in some footraces!
I don't see the big deal with 4 elimination legs in a row at all for Leg 1-4 lol, if anything it's refreshing considering the last time we almost had this was TAR13 if I'm remembering correctly? That's 16 seasons and nearly 9 years ago.Tar 21 is the last time we have strict 4 eliminations for leg 1-4
Okay I don't know why, but the thing about this season that I'm most cheesed about is that on the Wikipedia page there is no route map as in all the other Wikipedia pages. LOL
I haven't been able to access the Wiki for ages!
AND you know that OUR wiki is far more extensive than that one? :waves:
I haven't been able to access the Wiki for ages!
Please report that... we'll check!
i've stopped watching already lol
Now I need TAR to bring back the olden days TAR, where flight drama was constant, getting lost on taxis were frustrating and hilarious, tasks were lame but totally challenging/funny - eating caviar/meat/cheese rolling/hay bales etc. Nowadays, more of the tasks seemed to be extremely non-memorable (repetitive) and most part of the race seemed to be getting from one point to another, complete a task, get to another point, complete a task, pit stop. Especially with this season where the teams had no prior relationship, their drama with each other are always repetitive, similar, non-changing and got tiring after awhile.
When TAR was about to get cancelled on Season 4, they revamped the route, introduced the Yield, and reduced the FF etc.
I wish that they can look into the teams dynamics (stop casting just young and energetic teams or models or social media stars etc.) and most importantly, plan a route which allows for flight drama to occur. I know sometimes when one team is left behind the result becomes melodramatic, but that's just the last 5-10 mins?
And the tasks! Not some window cleaning! Include some local flavour. Especially those which requires the racers to dress up in hedious outfits to perform a task etc :funny:
And the lack of luck based tasks... not too many of them!! But I love them! Fun luck based tasks!
Not crazy about the way episodes open now.
I miss Phil's "This is <location>, <something about the location>, in the centre of the city..." and starting times instead of this repeated scenes from the week before.

What I dislike about this season is that since teams are strangers they're probably holding back and not being themselves with their partners, this could be good for competition purposes but in the end they won't experience the relationship growth most past teams had. I liked the best seeing teams grow, like Ron learning to respect Christina, Ken & Tina rekindling their relationship, and even the campy proposals at the mat

TAR's first visit to Korea in 7 years, 12 seasons and they go and put it as the penultimate Leg, again and have Sport Stacking and video games as tasks. :groan:
Sure Koreans love their video games and apparently also excel in sport stacking, but really? With only one Leg and maybe the last time TARUS has a chance to return to South Korea?

Honestly if you look at the youth of S. Korea that is there culture. + 12 hours of stress and their school
Stacking cup like really, it can be done anywhere in the world...
Video gaming .... Ok this never be done before, but same point as stacking cups...
And I'd take "F4 leg twice" over visited only once.Good point. I'd agree to this, hehe.
We've never had this type of task done before. Not to mention that it's a night leg! Night legs are usually allowed with a bit more leeway in regards to cultural tasks (although one of my favorite night legs ever, TAR5 Russia was cultural but that's another story), and I'm personally excited to see the cups and the game.
And besides, I'm pretty sure there's other tasks for the leg :)
I agree with you dryedmangeoz.
Do we really need video games on TAR? I think that would be more better suited to Japan...
Anyway, I hope we get another quote like Brooke's from TAR17
I have really no idea on guessing who win this season because LoLo aside every remaining team seems have chance to win this. Tara & Joey and Matt & Redmond would be normal standard TAR winner, but we can't ignore Brooke & Scott as well because we have history of Flo & Zach and especially last season Dana & Matt as a TAR winner.

As long as they're not yet eliminated, London & Logan still have a chance to win. Some teams lay low for the whole race then give it their all on the final leg to win.
Agreed. I'd be more surprised with a LoLo win that a ScoBrook win.
this has been such an amazing season

2 consecutive legs without a Detour. Can't see the finale having one, either, they haven't done that since the old days of TAR.
Budget is showing a little there :P

That would be because the Chicago leg was like the second half of all finale legs pre-12, in wh¡ch teams did the major asks in another location, had a mid-leg flight and did nothing but scavenger hunt type tasks in the last destination2 consecutive legs without a Detour. It may be budget-related, but it definitely gives me an old TAR feel, IDK why. Not complaining either since both legs were still amazing on their own even without a Detour.

Vanck & Ashton were pretty great to watch and it was really interesting to have such an oddball combo tbh.
Who else found it hard to like Ashton Theiss and why?
