Okay guys we are open for business! Rules apply whether this sighting holds up or not!
:wohoo:
-
are we sure the race has even started yet? That guy who tweeted the first sighting is in toronto, more people should have spotted teams at that park or around the airport throughout the day.
It could have been pre-production stuff that they are filming like last year.
-
Nothing is sure except that there was a POSSIBLE sighting. Time to keep our eyes open!

Either way, it means we're close. :cheer:
Just FYI, those pre-race/warm-up/practise sightings last year were on April 27, and The Quebec City start was May 1. We had similar sightings in S2 in Toronto, and a later one was even on a plane.

Ok, that means the race should start next week. Canadians be on the lookout.

No. That means the Race could start ANYTIME. and EVERYONE be on the lookout!! :sab
-
Dammit if I miss them again when (if) they make it to Vancouver I will be (insert angry emoticon here). Seriously, they were literally right across the street from my place in Season 1.
I've got my flight attendant husband on the lookout and my eyes are peeled.
-
Didn't you just miss them on a flight too?? Poor baby....
-
My husband was in Amsterdam when TARUS (year of the chippendales) was spotted by colleagues just a few blocks from his hotel.
I don't remember missing them on a flight, just my husband being in the same airport (Frankfurt) but missed seeing them there too.
I have a sneaking suspicion there may not be a visit to Vancouver this season.
-
Sounds like we need a Lo-Jack on your husband!! Hoping for great new locations wherever they go!
-
Flights out of Yellowknife 12Pm to 12 AM today.
-
And coincidence? The Stanley Cup was there today!
https://twitter.com/AdventureCanada/status/725726707043422208
-
The "bullocks" mentioned in the FB post refers to Bullocks Bistro in Yellowknife.
-
^^That was last night for production.
So TEAMS FLEW FIRST AIR. That narrows it down...Edmonton maybe?? ???
-
They landed in Edmonton apparently.
-
From the live spoilers thread:
Fb:
Quite the day at work,,first the Stanley cup came off the jet and went to resolute bay and later on we loaded contestants and film crew for the amazing race canada
Didn't Resolute Bay is in Nunavut?
-
The Stanley Cup went to Resolute. The teams flew to Edmonton. (prob just transit)
-
The Jasper Skytram. For some reason its closed today :spy:
-
Jasper Webcam!!

I reallllllllllyyyyyy hope they are 11 teams... and not 10 -_-

Who thinks this sundial might be an awesome roadblock???

-
Please, TAR Gods, let the F/F team in pink survive past the 1st or 2nd leg.
This seems to be a TAR Canada curse. All 3 seasons :(
-
well there are apparently three f/f teams, so higher chances for a winner this year.... unless there are 3 m/m teams as well, then its a toss up. lol
-
I will be in Niagara Falls in a week, should I keep my eye open??? Plus I live in NL, should we expect another visit there
-
Always be alert! But we have NO idea.
-
Looks like 2 legs in Alberta to start the race, a la BC in Seasons 1 and 2.
If the route is following a similar pattern to the previous, I anticipate them popping up in International departures for leg 3.
-
I'm thinking there testing the possible challenge and shooting the description too.
The teams may come later today or tomorrow.
-
More teams spotted in jasper restaurant last night. Was leg 1 a continuation/NEL? Or is this newly spotted m/f team just very far behind?
-
Or is the poster just now posting??
-

If they are behind, they are over a day (and a half???) behind the others. I did some snooping and that rugby tournament in Jasper WAS April 30. And they were seen during the after-party late last night. Meanwhile, the others were seen rappelling down the Calgary Tower (with Jon waiting nearby) yesterday afternoon. This makes me think there were some very difficult or intense tasks in the first leg in Jasper!?! (which we've seen in previous seasons) I hope for their sake it is an NEL! LOL
-
Or is the poster just now posting??
The rugby tournament in Jasper was yesterday (April 30)!!!!!
-
Could it be possible that teams were released late at night? and had hours of operation in Calgary making the leg yesterday and today?
-
Could it be possible that teams were released late at night? and had hours of operation in Calgary making the leg yesterday and today?
Or those sightings at the tower were ONLY crew/set-up and not teams at all. Is it not odd that family were allowed to take those close-up pics?

That is what I thought. I found pics but those people rapelling don't look racers. It looks like safety testers.

-
Jon was there though. A whole day ahead? Hmmmm, who do we know in Calgary?
-
I wonder what tasks could have been so difficult that a team might be a day behind? Maybe they got lost? Lol

Yes, I agree they did not look like a team, and Jon was there to film the task intro and/or perform the task. If that M/F team were spotted late last night, could the teams have been just released? They looked like they were asking for directions. So the Calgary leg is today??? UGH!
-
The pieces are starting to come together. It seems like Leg 2 started sometime late last evening. The red m/f team that was spotted in the Jasper pub last night, is now spotted doing the Calgary rappel RB.
NOTE: I think it was Jillian and Emmett!
-
Leg1
So we have safe so far:
Pink FF with Gray backpacks
MF ( Jillian and Emmett) with pink and black backpacks
MF with orange and blue backpacks ( male is blind and female is blonde)
Blue MF with black backpacks
Older Red FF with black backpacks
Asian FF with pink backpacks
Team with orange and blue backpacks
-
Definitely feel with so much focus out West early that the race will come to an end out East, maybe head back to Newfoundland or touch down in Cape Breton. So many places to end a race with the views there.
-
Since they are on the west, that might indicate an asian-pacific international destination for leg 3. (Assuming leg 3 is international like it was for Season 2.
I'm seeing flights to China, Japan, South Korea, and Australia tomorrow (connecting through Vancouver, of course)
-
I'm currently on vacation in Japan (Tokyo right now). If it becomes known that they're coming here, someone get Peach to message me on Skype (push notifications work better on that than on Twitter). She knows my skype ID
-
Eagerly awaiting the airport sightings and which gate they go through :)
Domestic, or as Leg 3 was in the past 2 seasons, International.
-
No sightings today? I wonder where they disappeared to.
-
How sure we are that there are only 10 teams this season? (I remeber that in 2nd season we counted with 10 teams and then Jen & Shawn showed up in official cast release.)
And (all) 4 FF teams survived 1st leg, correct?
-

From the start-line photos, counting the number of people and backpacks.
-
From the looks of it, that young M/M team in green could have been the first boot. They were not seen in Calgary.
-
Based on those Calgary airport photos, these teams survived leg 2:
F/F team w/ grey backpacks
F/F black canadian team
M/F team w/ the visually impaired man
F/F older team
-
there blind person :ascared

there blind person :ascared

It's the Roadblocks I'm curious about, since the partner can't help.

Okay guys...we have POSSIBLE sighting to Regina and one in Vancouver.
Important to research possible ccnnections here...
-
Vancouver would likely mean international. That's an overseas hub, Regina isn't.
-
peach what time left
-
IF flight to Regina on Air Canada was true it landed 10:20 local time. Flight AC 8436
http://www.flightstats.com/go/FlightStatus/flightStatusByFlight.do?id=708190342&airline=AC&flightNumber=8436&departureDate=2016-05-03 (http://www.flightstats.com/go/FlightStatus/flightStatusByFlight.do?id=708190342&airline=AC&flightNumber=8436&departureDate=2016-05-03)
-
Departures from Regina:
What about that Korean Air flight?
-
Connections out of Regina to Vancouver are minimal. My guess is that Regina is a mistake. A nice leg in Vancouver first then INT would be fine too!
Direct flights to Vancouver, Flights to Regina. flights out of Regina.
-
Seems like one of those sightings was a mistake. Regina-Vancouver connection seems unlikely to me as well.
On another note, if they are flying international. There are several flights to Japan, and South Korea leaving Vancouver today.
Also a couple of Mexico and Germany flights.
-
The person who said Regina could have only done so because he saw them at or near his dep gate. His pic looked more like a gate, not check-in line.

-
And those 3 teams at YVR are not in a rush to get anywhere! LOL
-
The TAR Detective team has some reason to believe the Netherlands will be visited.
Nevermind. I now see that there are flights at 3:45pm (local time) to Amsterdam.

Just not sure WHEN.

peach do think harper could possiable be blind man
-
Here's a series of tweets from a few hours ago from someone who saw TAR at an airport. Her twitter page gives Calgary as a location. I'm not sure who Harper is. My dentist is named Harper, but I doubt it's him. Must be a Canadian thing.
Dorsa Eslami @DorsaEslami 5h5 hours ago
Almost got knocked over On my way to my gate ay the airport by the amazing race contestants and camera men only for them to get to Harper

Even Harper can't kill my buzz rn bc IM GOING HOMEEE #hali
8:42 AM - 3 May 2016
Probably Stephen Harper, the previous prime minister. He lives in/represents part of Calgary.
-
These last few posts really need a reaction gif.
-
peach do think harper could possiable be blind man
Many people in Canada believe that Harper is mentally blind to all the discontent he has caused, but, no, he is not our sight impaired racer...
-
OK, Steven Harper makes a lot of sense. I can see why the teams would flock to meet him and the cameramen would want to capture it.
-
Guys since last season TAR Canada introduced Face Off from TAR Israel maybe because we have so many team sightings this year they actually introduced TAR Israel 4's twist and started with so many teams with possibly different starting lines. What do you think?
-
There are only 10 teams. (that we have seen
-
IF they should be traveling to the Netherlands, the Vancouver plane just touched down at Schiaphol.
Stay alert!
-
IF they should be traveling to the Netherlands, the Vancouver plane just touched down at Schiaphol.
Stay alert!
Unfortunately, Air Canada doesn't have a direct flight from Vancouver to Amsterdam, but only a flight from Toronto to Amsterdam. Vancouver Airport serves Far East and Australian cities by Air Canada.
Only KLM does HAVE a direct flight from Vancouver to Amsterdam, but that airline has also a direct flight from Calgary to Amsterdam daily.
-
With no sightings, I think it is safe to say:
"Toto, I don't think we are in Canada anymore!"
-
peach i have south african insider he say dark there i dont know
-
Could we even be on Leg 4 by now? This seems like a large gap in time.
Speaking of Africa: Thinking like a business, Air Canada's brand new direct connections to Dubai and Casablanca are its first to that region. So they could be a possible destination, therefore giving AC an opportunity to parade that around in its summer advertising.
-
I know, by "region" I meant Africa + Middle East :)
-
Again, we do NOT know if Air Canada is a sponsor.
-
Saigon? (aka Ho Chi Minh City) You're pretty sure about this, Peach?
Wasn't expecting Vietnam. Nice.
-
Yes pretty sure but want to confirm 100% TARC w/some pictures. But HIGHLY reliable info
Possibles coming
-
Was there a Hong Kong leg or is Saigon leg 3
-
peach is possable then went from south africa to Vietnam
-
I wonder if the 3rd leg is over already?
If they are going to Vietnam, we could already be into the 4th leg.
-
Was there a Hong Kong leg or is Saigon leg 3
Maybe.
Could be japan or South Korea as well.
-
They often take breaks, especially before/after international legs. Plus there would not have been enough time for a mandatory rest between leg 3 & 4.
-
Guys when I KNOW I will SAY. :groan:
Why doesn't someone figure out possible flights to get us to HK from Calgary. Then we can see how much time there was. I am waiting to hear re the flight AND hopefully some confirmation that this was indeed TARC. But the late United flight may be the most likely.
-

Ohhhh, Calgary. :funny: :spy:

Amazing pictures, Quốc Nghĩa! Several teams clearly spotted in HCMC, Vietnam

vancouver to HK: I believe they took the 1:20pm air Canada flight. That arrived in Hk around 5:30 pm yesterday.
Hk to Veitnam:they likely took the United flight. So they should be in Vietnam already.
-
Thanks Maanca, it's a funny night. I watched The Amazing Race Vietnam with some racers in HCMC (The Amazing Race Vietnam has a sneak show that racers can watch and communicate with fans at the movie theater). The I came home and saw the post of Peach in TARVN thread and has been done some search on Facebook. :D It's 1 A.M in Vietnam right now and I have to sleep because I have a important meeting today. Bye guys. :luvya:

:funny: Just what every bride wants!! Maybe you will see them...you never know!

Although these are the teams possibly taking the flight, the options are from Calgary to Ho Chi Minh City flight are a Calgary-Tokyo nonstop, then to Tokyo-Ho Chi Minh City.
-
Is there a second leg in HCMC? That is a large gap in filming.
The building in the background matches one in HCMC City Hall, where the statue is.
-
Long extended PitStop to stay in same place ???
-
I guess they film two legs in Vietnam right?
-
Long extended PitStop to stay in same place ???
I suspect this (along with only 10 teams) may be due to losing Air Canada as sponsor???
-
Plenty of flights, don't think that is it. Maybe due to upcoming schedule????
SUCH a public place to have a PitStop, they had to know they would be seen. Almost makes me think it will be a NEL or KOR or they would be more careful. :dunno:

This is Leg 4. Pitstop (Probably) so to assume they were safe after Leg 3 would be correct.

Possibly 7
Leg 1-3 elim
Leg 4 non-elim

So F/F Pink was holding a Double Express Pass. That likely means, unless like last season where it was something to be found, they won Leg 1.
It also means...the "Pink F/F team goes home by leg 2" curse is broken! :funny:

They remind me of Natalie and Meghan so I didn't think they would go out early. They could go very far and maybe even the finale.

I think all M/M teams are eliminated :funny: :funny:
-
So all 5 FF teams made at least Leg 3, right?
Based on info about 4th Leg being NEL, it means that we will have at least 4 FF teams for at least 5 episodes. :hearts:

The big question is, will they continue to another international destination or come back to Canada? LOL This next leg should be very telling.
-
The big question is, will they continue to another international destination or come back to Canada? LOL This next leg should be very telling.
I'm expecting the latter, continuing as in the past.
They'll probably connect through Hong Kong again, so I'm not sure Quoc would be able to also stake out the HCMC airport to find out where they're going.
-
I think the might have one leg in Central America for they then can go to the parries and to another international country.
-
I see in the new video posted they brought along what's-his-name again (the man standing on the mat in the middle of the video).
I can't remember it. That eTalk reporter who was there the previous seasons to do behind-the-scene segments.
-
James Duthie???
-
Nah. I looked it up, Devon Soltondieck

Yeah this is a similar design to Season 2, which Legs 1, 2, & 5 in the west of Canada and 3 & 4 in Asia. In this case, Leg 5 will probably be in Vancouver or (fingers crossed) the Queen Charlotte Islands or Sandspit!!
-
I was in HCM last night. I wanted a selfie with Jon :gaah:
-
Over a day has passed since those Pit Stop sightings, figured they're probably on their way back after 2 legs as per usual.
If BC gets a leg, the best place to go that they haven't gone yet is the Great Bear Rainforest or the Queen Charlotte Islands.
-
From the live tweets spoilers thread:
Seal Cove is at Prince Rupert in British Columbia.
-
That's a long way away from any of the previous BC legs. It's close to the southern tip of Alaska.
So I was in the right ballpark guessing the Queen Charlotte Islands.
-
Ok Peach says I can post after their sighted so here we go
I can tell everyone based on FB they were filming an hour ago.
Post; Filming the Amazing Race in Seal Cove
In the comments: They were an hour ago
Seal Cove is down on the waterfront in Prince Rupert, if they go to the Queen Charlottes, it doesn't look like it will be Ferry, next Ferry crossing is
Thursday Morning.
-
FWIW 7 teams will be racing and several locations have been spoiled on FB :groan:
-
NO FUTURE LOCATIONS SHOULD BE POSTED WITHOUT A SIGHTING PLEASE.
-
On May 10, there is a ferry to Alaska. Perhaps an Alaska visit?
-
I think they have a full day already!!
-
Is the M/F with blue & purple jacket the same as the M/? previously spotted in Calgary? The M look the same, along with their pants and shoes. Or maybe I'm mistaking them with the blue M/F (though the F seem to have white/pink? shoes). If not, considering that the Orange African-Canadian F/F was also spotted, leg 4 may have been an elimination after all, with the NEL being in the first 3 legs.

Pic of blue/purple M/F taken today: https://www.instagram.com/p/BFPTFAJu6DN/?taken-by=lover_ofrogs

Ah OK :groan:
-
They r in prince Rupert it's all over Facebook my mom showed me and we have friends there!!! :colors
-
yes we know, you can see the live thread! Go ask your friends where they are going next!
-
So who has been eliminated so far.
Army m/m
Older F/F
??? M/?
Right.
-
Speculation of the Cluebox arrival
FF in Grey was 1st and seemed ahead
Jill and Emmmett were 2nd.
MF in Blue were 3rd.
4th-5th was the FF with tatoo/red hair and FF with dark skin
6th-7th was MF (blond and visually impaired)/ Asian FF
-
Most photos for one leg ever? :sab
Maybe, or close to it. I think word spreads quick in a town this size. blahblah
-
Based on the new info,
this season has 5 FF, 3 MF and 2 MM
The M/? team is a MM team
-
Okay!! What's next? ???
Options for leaving:
They don't have the cars now, so self driving somewhere is out.
Flight from Digby Island back to Vancouver. Requires an early start because there is a ferry to airport.
~2 hr trip to YXT in Terrace. More flights but most Vancouver again. One other
-
Just checked THIS ferry ist...I see no departures form Prince Rupert in the next few days.
http://www.ferrytravel.com/alaskaferryschedules.htm
SO best guess is teams transit VANCOUVER again?? :funny:

Not sure which Cruise Ship line stops in Rupert on the way up to Alaska

This article describes a lot about 2 legs of TARCAN in Vietnam. This also reviews that The Amazing Race Poland is going to Vietnam this May.
- Leg 3: Tiền Giang
+ Tasks:
* Find 5 kinds of fruit in Cai Be floating market.
* Herd 250 ducks into a cage, the grab 2 ducks...
+ Pitstop: Mekong Lodge
The Duck Whisperer task in Cai Be from TAR 15 Leg 2...
Wonder if Zev gets to give out the clue? :waves:

IMPORTANT!!
PLEASE only use Oval's team descriptions so we maintain consistency.
I especially do NOT want to see Blind... or Black women.. or African-American women because NONE of our teams fit those descriptions.
Oval's descripts ONLY please as found in the Timeline.
Thanks!
-
I'm not expecting a second leg in BC as in previous seasons, they just did 2 in Alberta.
Maybe Manitoba, it's due for a return visit. Churchill would be the best choice (the possibility of seeing polar bears!) but it's way up in the corner on Hudson Bay, meaning more charter flights.
-
There is a VIA Train leaving Prince Rupert this morning (8am) to Prince George (arr 20:30). It continues on to Jasper the next day...
-
Everyone please keep in mind that if teams take the first Digby Island flight today they will be transiting in Vancouver about 130 PM PST.
Please be alert for sightings!
That was 2 hours ago now. Not seeing anything yet.
-

So both MM teams were first boots? :funny:
There are photos of asians FF with other teams from today. Is it means that they survived Leg 5 after all?
-
did I miss the sightings of the ff Asian team from today, have only seen 3 teams in photos from today

Where? In the photos of teams walking around town? That's not them. That's F/F Pink Shirts.

Not many flight options out of Prince Rupert today - Vancouver at 11:25am. Unless its a chartered flight then they could be going anywhere.
VIA Rail has no trains leaving today.
They do have some shiny Chevrolet Camaros in town - maybe a scenic 2 hour drive to Terrace BC (YXT) which has a few more flight options - mostly to Vancouver. ???
Or an 8 hour drive to Prince George? ???
-
Yeah, not sure what they'd be doing as far as getting out of there, Prince Rupert is really kinda at the end of the world. It's where the northern branch of the Trans-Canada Highway ends, and flights are indeed limited.

I believe those Camaros were returned to the dealer, plates removed. (read it on FB, But I don't remember where).
I wonder if Camaros are the grand prize car this year?
-
STILL in Prince Rupert? This is quite the extended Pit Stop, there's no way they'd do a second leg there. Must be waiting on a specific flight.
-

There is a video
It is possible that part of the leg is still in Prince Rupert and they wait out a flight later so watch for teams.
-
The one thing I can't believe, its not Raining in Rupert, they had people move from South Africa due to a skin condition, for the lack of Sun in Prince Rupert.
This is truly amazing they hit there on one of the few Sunny Days. The 70's/80's Band Trooper wrote a Song, that was about Prince Rupert " We’re Here For A Good Time"
-
I had a thought, too. Maybe the Fort McMurray fires could be playing havoc with flights, if they're crossing the prairies. The smoke has been quite far-reaching.
-
Isn't there an 8:05 (PST) flight to Vancouver?
and a 6:00 PM
Jazz arr YVR 7:45 delayed 7:52 PM PST
AC arr 9:57 PM PST
-
Is there an airport shuttle bus at that mall? That's the only reason I can see them waiting there.
-

The Shuttle Bus leaves Downtown @ 6pm, The Mall is Downtown, not sure exact location, but Mall would be a good guess.

There is a travel agency there, which seems to carry the Air Transat logo - which was recently connected to CTV promo contest.

They are out though :funny: :funny:

I know, but I was surprised to find it tonight on Twitter while I was looking for what was going on in Prince Rupert! And it's still good to confirm it is a M/M team. Ugh.
-
Well one thing is certain, then. At least one female is finally going to win :funny:
-
Lmao. I can't believe that the 2 M/M teams might be the first two boots.
-
Lmao. I can't believe that the 2 M/M teams might be the first two boots.
Based on one of the photos posted on the live sightings thread, all the F/F & M/F teams made the Vietnam 1 Leg. Which means all the M/M teams are gone in Legs 1 & 2! :funny: :conf:
-
How many teams are supposed to be racing today? 5? 6?
-
How many teams are supposed to be racing today? 5? 6?
6, presumably.
Leg 4 in HCMC was a Non-Elimination, so someone would have went home in Prince Rupert.
-
Hmm...10 teams, the season premiere being moved up a week this year.
Possibly 11 legs? :(
-

That would mean 4 NELs and/or KORs. Correct? Their ratings will be good and they won awards so I can't see them down-sizing the season. So odd.
-
Or would double elimination legs be possible??? Or maybe a double length finale leg??
-
Or would double elimination legs be possible??? Or maybe a double length finale leg??
I can see them extending the finale over two episodes, would that necessarily have to be a KOR?
And while we are talking finale, I think it appears more and more likely it will be eastern Canada.

Just FYI, the Collective Arts Brewery is a very unique place. A combo brewery and art gallery. Looks very interesting. It's not just a random art task at a random brewery, LOL.

Nice story about them in the Financial Post (https://t.co/94a5FCU87y) today (coincidence?).
-
There is a mural at Collective Arts by Peru Dyer Jalea (https://www.instagram.com/peru143/).
Looks like the task may be to recreate a portion of his mural? ???
-
Yes east coast would be great!!! More likely too because of a starting line in the west and first few legs out west Quebec possibly????
-
Union Station is in Toronto.
I will speculate they used Go Train from Hamilton Burlington into Toronto (which stops at Union Station).
They are currently at the terminal where you take trains outside Toronto, so literally can be anywhere in the USA/Ontario/Quebec where they are going.
Unfortunately I cannot get to Union Station atp!
Toronto-Hamilton-Burlington-Toronto - one leg already!
-
there not going in usa

Well, they wouldn't be going west, which they could have done at Aldershot. So they are either going North or East.
Where do u buy the Union-Pearson express tickets? At the main counter?
And would this be a KOR?

A team apparently seen on a train to Kingston (which is at the other end of Lake Ontario from Hamilton, 4 hour drive).
If that turned out to be a destination, I assume the nearby Thousand Islands will be involved.

Looking at the schedule, could be the Montreal train (see my edited post in sightings)
I wondered about Kingston this year though: Fort Henry; Royal Military; Queens U; CFB Kingston
-
Sir John A. MacDonald, Canada's first Prime Minister resided there as well. Bellevue National Historic Site, along with his grave and a statue at a downtown park.
-
That's right, I forgot the historical significance. Kingston was the original capital before Canada became a country.
-
Kingston Penitentiary would be an interesting place to visit too. According to an article I read on CBC today, they are actually opening it up this summer for tours.
-

I was thinking about that, the American race has visited prisons in the past. But I very much doubt they'd send racers there. This is after all where Bernardo is locked up.

But they are promoting it as a tourist attraction. Odd they just announced it.
We may be getting ahead of ourselves here. I haven't found any other sightings.
-
U het the tickets for the UP train at Union and a counter in Pearson, we asked them for information this week I don't know anywhere else
Kingston would be great! It has such history, but 2 Ontario legs and 2 Alberta legs, I don't like that cause the east coast needs at least 2 Atlantic/Maritime provinces
-
Yeah, with the early focus out West, East coast is looking more probable for the last few legs. If they finished in Newfoundland and Labrador, and didn't want to finish in St. John's, they could easily do a leg in Cape Breton then the last one in Newfoundland. Lots to do in Cape Breton for one leg, and with the Marine Atlantic Ferry from North Sydney to Port-aux-Basques, you could easily make your way to the west side of Newfoundland and finish with a scenic view from Gros Morne National Park, or somewhere else on the West side. Marine Atlantic also has a ferry from North Sydney to Argentia, which would put them 2 hours south of St. John's if they went back there as opposed to 9-10 hours with Port-aux-Basques like S1.
-
So is Kingston Leg 7?
-
Asian F/F team might be eliminated in Leg 5 (:;) (:;)
-
So is Kingston Leg 7?
Yes, we think so.
-
The Kingston Market is not far from where the Chevy Cruzes were seen.
-
Wow, they're really visiting Kingston Penitentiary? :o
It actually is a pretty old place, so maybe it'll be something like TAR9 where they had to search through the decommissioned cells to find something.
-

y
Yes!! I am a Newfie and about 2hrs from Gros Morne, 6hrs from St. John's and 4 hrs from port aux basque. If they go to Gros Morne a stop in corner Brook would be good. Or to get to Gros Morne u can fly to deer lake and drive for only about 45mins!!! I have friends and family all around so I can keep in contact
-
:gaah: :gaah: they won't have many legs out east, where can the next international leg be?????
-
Asian F/F team might be eliminated in Leg 5 (:;) (:;)
They got really lost apparently so it wasn't a surprise.
Leg 6, I think is a KOR leg with the close filming gap.
-

Agreed. Just yesterday, they were in Hamilton, hopped on the train last night, and now this.
-
Maybe the extended stay in Prince Rupert was a needed rest for leg 6 & 7. :funny:
-
:gaah: :gaah: they won't have many legs out east, where can the next international leg be?????
They could dip down into the States, would make sense to visit an Eastern State such as Massachusetts, maybe Boston? If Cape Breton could be a thing, and they fly there, Sydney Airport only has connections to Toronto and Halifax, and Boston has a direct to Halifax.
-
There are multiple flights out of Kingston to Toronto tomorrow morning: 5:45 6:40 10:05 AM all on AC. Several more in the afternoon. They could go anywhere from there. Europe is due.
-
I know there is a flight from Heathrow to Halifax, if they went to the East Coast.
-
I smell an international departure next leg. This is when they went to France/India the last 2 seasons. Leaving enough time for Atlantic/Quebec, with probably a Finish line in either of those regions.
No way they'd go to just Vietnam.
-
I think Europe is very probable. The distance from there to either the East Coast or Quebec wouldn't be that long, compared to a country in Asia, South America, or Africa.
-
It has to be Europe if they go to the east coast!!!

hope i'm posting this in the right forum, was curious if we are sure there are still 6 teams, looking at pics posted the last couple of days, and I haven't seen any of the m/f team that were all in blue, the team ppl were thinking were Emmett and jill. maybe I've just missed them?
-
There are still 6 teams.
-
^^thankyou!!

^^thankyou!!
Who went to Kingston. LOL

The video wasn't playing properly for me, Sue. What locations were shown in that news report?
I just saw them at Kingston Pen at the beginning, guess you were right about that one.
-
Looks like there was a U-Turn board in front of the Penitentiary that was covered up. They showed pictures that Clarence and King were blocked off, and that trucks full of TAR supplies were in front of the Kingston Yacht Club.
-

It was mostly the Pen. They also showed the Clarence St closure between King St & Wellington. I will have to watch again but I think the only team I saw was Orange M/F.
-
Kingston is known for having good winds for sailing on Lake Ontario, could have been a challenge there. Queen's University is known for their water sports programs.
-

I did, haha :funny:
The fans that were interviewed by the news station said they saw it and pulled over right away.
-
ARRRGH. I want to tell that one guy to mooove in that Instagram pic of prod hovering around the 2X U-Turn Fossil posted. He's blocking the pic!
-
Well, somebody definitely used it, you can see the tops of the first U-Turner's heads.
And this photo also shows Pink F/F is still alive.
-
Re: Bubble Soccer. Nixon Field is at Queen's University
-
Wow. This Kingston leg sounds jam-packed!
When I heard about the Bubble soccer, my first thought was they are doing the Face-Off challenge again. Didn't they combine a Face-Off with a U-Turn last year? On Isle de Madeleines?
-
Iat first I wasn't sure about Kingston, but if they add sailing this could be one of the best legs EVER
-
All flights out of Kingston go to Toronto. If they used ViaRail to get to Kingston, it is probably a sponsor. If so, they may use it again to get to Montreal rather than Toronto.
-
I haven't been on here for a few days, but I was looking at a beautiful totem that we have close to us and just a few days ago thinking that TARCan needed to go to Haida Gwaii. I am stoked that they are going to be shown there. Can't wait. And also feeling a bit psychic thinking about them going to Haida Gwaii the day they were being flown there. Heading out to buy lottery tickets now.
-
Headed back to Toronto by train 2 hours ago. When I Google Mapped the distance, it said it's about a 2.5 hour train ride. Will keep an eye out for sightings at Pearson in the near future
-
Toronto? That could mean an international flight is coming up.
-

Caution. Tweet POSTED today does NOT necessarily mean pic TAKEN today. Have asked him...

The clock in the image says 9:45... and the tweet was posted at 9:49.
If it was today here are the possible trains:
They could be headed to Toronto, Montreal or Ottawa.

It looks like they were on the UP (Union St to Pearson) Express. Whose cameraman was that?

Whose cameraman was that?
Not sure that's a way of telling. I remember one of the crew saying on Twitter during the season last year (or maybe the year before) that they rotate. So teams don't always have the same ones.

NO. That second tweet... the no spoilers guy... that is on the Union Station to Pearson Express (UP)
-
I know. But that gives us TWO reported trains, so maybe we can narrow down where BOTH went. (could they be continuing on the trains..)
-
FYI... the UP Express is devoted service between Union Station (ViaRail) & Pearson Airport. I know it's confusing, so here is map.
-
I know. But that gives us TWO reported trains, so maybe we can narrow down where BOTH went. (could they be continuing on the trains..)
Canada's rail system is confusing if you don't know the jurisdictional vagaries .
The first train tweeter spotted teams in Kingston getting on a VIA Rail train. They must have been headed to Toronto Union Station because...
- VIA Rail does not stop at Toronto Pearson Airport - there is no VIA Rail station there.
- and...
Teams were next spotted on a UP Express train (Not a VIA Rail) train which runs between Toronto Union Station and Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ)
What makes it even more confusing is that the VIA Rail website lets you enter Pearson Airport (YYZ) as a destination - even though you can't get to YYZ by VIA Rail...

Airport sighting lady is going to Italy!
International leg for sure then!!!
-
The TAR Detective team has some reason to believe the Netherlands will be visited.
Nice flight to AMS at 530PM
-
I've checked for flights;
Reasonable Air Canada flights to Europe: All flights land between 6:00 & 11:00
• London
• Dublin
• Copenhagen
• Amsterdam
• Munich
• Frankfurt
• Rome
• Barcelona
• Zurich
• Also Paris but that's almost 100% out of the question!
-

530 too early if they just went thru security..so AIR Canada maybe?
-
Can't wait 'til tomorrow morning to (hopefully) wake up to news of what country they land in :D
Netherlands would be the logical choice with the significant WWII connection to Canada.
-
Airport sighting lady is going to Italy!
Is that really sure 100 percent Italy? Probably Rome.
-
No Claude. The person who saw them was going to Italy.
Has NO meaning for where TAR is going.
-
Re: Jillian & Emmett pic: from Google maps. Confederation Marina.
Was the Pitstart here or maybe in front of City Hall (the large building in background)/ Confederation Park?
-
If it is Italy, Where would they go in Canada after??? There's no Atlantic province with flights to Rome, and Quebec should be the finish line, Mont Tremblant would be perfect
-
They could fly to Toronto and then from there anywhere in Canada.
-
While we are waiting for teams to appear.........
I wonder how many legs this race will have because we have less teams.
3 possibilities:
If its 12 legs, there will be 4 non-elims meaning legs 8 and 10 have to be non-elim. (or 9 but I don't think they would 2 back to back.
If its 11 legs, there will be 3 non-elims meaning leg 8, 9 or 10 will have to be a non-elim.
If its 10 legs, the next 2 legs will be elim.
-
Hmm, wonder if we missed Leg 8. They were taking off yesterday afternoon.
-
Hmm, wonder if we missed Leg 8. They were taking off yesterday afternoon.
It could be done and Leg 9 is soon.
Could they have gone to Africa? I mean no sightings by any detectives......

I think they would have 1 NEL and then a KOR

Perhaps South Africa? As just my opinion. I mean Amsterdam could possibly a connection point.
-
Or Morocco??? Air Canada has new direct flights to Marrakech (not sure what city but know Morocco) that would be cool

In season 1 when they flew into Pearson for the finale, there was crew waiting for them in the arrivals area with fresh batteries, water, etc.
I was also thinking extra crew flying to location of next 1 or 2 domestic legs... penultimate & finale. She works in the industry so she knows film crew when she sees it.
-
Yes. There is a domestic leg coming up.
-
Yes. There is a domestic leg coming up.
Of course. They're not gonna leave out Atlantic and French Canada.
I'm going to guess we'll see a return to Newfoundland and Labrador. 3 seasons, it's due. And the Labrador half of the province has not been touched.
-
Well Cape Breton is now a possibility! If they try to capture the culture there, they may go to the Big Fiddle and maybe Highland Village in Iona. Maybe Gaelic games?
-
So we don't know where the international leg was??? Or was there one???
-
So we don't know where the international leg was??? Or was there one???
Nope. Coincidentally, they fell off the radar on the third international leg of the last two seasons, too. Then popped up for the fourth.
It was pretty likely international because the last person to see them at the airport was going to Italy (which doesn't mean they were). They'd be found for sure in Canada.
-
There probably coming back to Canada tonight or tomorrow :groan: :funny:
-
There probably coming back to Canada tonight or tomorrow :groan: :funny:
I was thinking saturday.
If legs 8/9 were a combo KOR leg then maybe tomorrow.
-
Acting on speculation of the the Netherlands, I tried cross-referencing notable monuments to Canada with social media. Nada.
Unless something comes up, I guess the later international legs will be a complete surprise when it airs :) Like India last year, if not for the extreme luck of Peach's friend being in the right place at the right time, there'd have been nothing.
-
We'll find them sooner or later!!
Friday will be a good day! :puter:
-
That was fast. Sounds like they are indeed back home and headed for the Atlantic provinces.
-
There probably coming back to Canada tonight or tomorrow :groan: :funny:
Well they actually took of this morning :funny:
-
NL plzzzzzz I would love to be looking around.
Besides, in Newfoundland on Victoria Day Weekend (this weekend) everyone goes camping so Gros Morne would be cool to visit but hard because of ALLLLL the people who will be up there.
Firework tasks this weekend👌
-
looking at the flights that arrived this morning:
12am-6am:
Holguin, Cuba
Santa Clara, Cuba
Varadero, Cuba
Dubai, UAE
Sao Paulo, Brazil
Santiago, Chile
Mexico City, Mexico
6am-7am
Cairo, Egypt
8am-9am
Dublin, Ireland
Abu Dhabi, UAE
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
11am-12pm
London, England
Havana, Cuba
Amsterdam, Netherlands
Varadero, Cuba
-
Dubai, Dublin, Amsterdam, London most reasonable to me
-
Indeed
Dubai - As I said, this is a brand new destination for Air Canada. If the Race did renew with them, it gives AC a chance to market that. Anywhere but Atlantis, though, please.
Dublin - Thousands of Canadians immigrated from Ireland during the Great Potato Famine (including my ancestors)
Amsterdam - WWII connection. Canada liberated the Netherlands and they never forgot it.
London - What else to say? Commonwealth country.

Or did we miss 2 legs, a KOR In UAE, Dubai and Abu Dhabi????
-
Cuba could be it. I think
-
What about Cuba?
-
Nothing about Cuba .. Spec is always better when you add some reasons why. Wish lists have their own place.
-
The Kiosk they're at sells little towels, blankets, and stockings that have puppies and other dogs on them. I don't think it would be significant for the race.
No, but the pic tells us a variety of things!!!
-
Finally, Cape Breton after two visits to mainland Nova Scotia :D
Leg 10, most likely?
-
I see the Red-Haired/Tattooed FF team (honestly, I didn't peg them to get this far), Emmett & Jillian, and what looks like the same blue coats of the M/F team we originally thought were them.
-
I see the Red-Haired/Tattooed FF team (honestly, I didn't peg them to get this far), Emmett & Jillian, and what looks like the same blue coats of the M/F team we originally thought were them.
Also the F/F Twins. Missing are: Orange M/F and F/F Pink Shirts. Unless of course the latter came in on a different flight OR they are using decoys.
-
As I am from Cape Breton (Unfortunately not there now) my family still is there. My dad said the security guard said he saw 5 cars in one area, and 2 in the other. Saw 8-10 people, (4-5 teams).
-
They're looking at what appears to be a provincial road map. I wonder if that means this includes a trip to Cabot Trail on the west side of Cape Breton (It's a highway famous for its landscapes).
-

I'm thinking the F/F Pink Shirts w/Grey Backpacks survived. There's 2 photos there that could possibly prove it but blurry though. We'll just have to wait for further sightings.
-
I went to the entrance of the Coast Guard College and saw a flag with a Parking sign and arrow but didn't see or hear anything else. The College itself is a fairly secure location so I didn't venture too close.
-
I want to know how really we could possibly have 5 teams left.... ???
-

All I can think of is there was only 1 overseas leg (ugh) and it was a NEL.
-

The task could be starting tomorrow and/or they are using the college as lodging for the night.
-
Jill and Emmett live in Nova Scotia so that could/should help them.
-
I want to know how really we could possibly have 5 teams left.... ???
Legs1-3 Elim
4 Non-elim 7 left
5 elim 6 left
6 kor
7 elim 5 left
8 non-elim
9 elim???
-
So I guess with the video showing the F5, we can establish the boot order thus far as:
10th: Green M/M
9th: Red M/M
8th: Red F/F
7th: Asian F/F
6th: Orange M/F
F5 is:
Emmett & Jillian
Blue M/F
Gray F/F
Pink F/F
Tattooed and Redhead F/F
-
For the NTH time please use ONLY Oval's descriptions of teams. or they will be deleted from here on.
Correct it please?
-
Well this should be interesting. Jillian and Emmett are from Nova Scotia - Emmett is from Gore and Jillian from New Glasgow, both North/Northeast of Halifax. Maybe there will be a dairy farm task. :funny:
I wonder if any of the other four remaining teams are as well, or from the Maritimes.
-
For the NTH time please use ONLY Oval's descriptions of teams. or they will be deleted from here on.
Correct it please?
In fairness, I never saw where it said to use the descriptions. I corrected it.

Thanks! the prob is I do not want to use an ethnicity description I believe to be incorrect. I do not think that team is African...so we will use another phrase for now. I hate labels lol! Thanks for changing it.
-
As for 5 teams lefts!
We know Hamilton leg had 6 teams left... what if:
Hamilton/Kingston is one leg/ or a double leg NEL
then 6 teams go international: 2 legs 1 EL, one NEL
then we are back with 5 teams... ?
-
Didn't China Rush had a twist that had an eliminated team return, mid-race.
What if Canada is introducing a similar twist this season.
-
You can see the period costume, with tri-cornered hats.
-
I'm wondering if we're looking at a Detour.
One involves that herd of sheep that passes by every once in a while, and the other involves cannonballs.
-
Just in case anyone is wondering what that gate in the webcam looks like, this is from Google streetview. The gates are open today.
-
Doesn't appear to be a mention of sheep on the fortress's website, but I did find this https://www.tripadvisor.ca/LocationPhotoDirectLink-g499217-d186894-i103598359-Fortress_of_Louisbourg_National_Historic_Site-Louisbourg_Cape_Breton_Isla.html
-
If I am not mistaken, the gate is normally closed.
-
Another possibility for today? The Highland Village Museum?
We need all hands on deck watching FB and twitter please.
-

I was hoping to find something on the ground from the fortress, but no related mentions of "Louisbourg" on Facebook or Twitter from the last few hours :(
-
Curious about how they had a detour at the Fortress of Louisbourg, but the picture of Emmett leaving the Coast Guard, he had a detour envelope. If the people at the Fortress said they were doing a detour, could they have done two detours? Or was Emmett's clue just an older clue?
-

Maybe the Coast Guard was the Detour Decision Point? Or just where they got the clue?
???
-
It's just that Iona and Louisbourg are so far apart for a detour decision point.
-
True. I don't have the answer...we'll have to see!
-
Not finding any sightings after the fortress, including that museum Peach suggested. Maybe they went out of town.
-
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar plums danc'd in their heads,
-
Would they do 2 international Legs for 10 and 11? That would be surprising.
-
I've been searching every hour since I got up :(
-
I've been searching every hour since I got up :(
Me too. Nothing...
I sure one of the better detectives or ,if we a ground team, will have something later.
-

They may be on a 36 hour rest break, instead of the normal 12 hour
-
No they are racing now! error
remember to vary your search terms. While amazing race Canada might be good it only generates posts labeled that way, someone might not know what they are seeing.
So try backpacks/cameras/filming/Jon Montgomery/Sydney/fiddle/
Look at a list of things to do in the area and input some of those terms.
Keep trying! Go team Go!! :cheer:

Pure SPEC:
Suppose the PITSTOP was in a secluded corner of the Fortress? Beautiful places! 6 min on foot
KENNINGTON COVE - CAPE BRETON ISLAND
The beach nearby Fortress Louisbourg is called Kennington Cove and one of Cape Breton's hidden treasures as it offers one of the best sandy beaches on Cape Breton Island. At this historic location New Englanders came ashore in 1745 and the English in 1758, beginning sieges that lead to the fall of Louisbourg.
Wolfe’s Landing National Historic Site of Canada is located in Kennington Cove. Contained entirely within the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site of Canada, the site is bounded by a rocky beach to the south, and a rolling landscape of grasses and forest to the north, east and west. It was from this site that, during the Seven Years’ War, British forces launched their successful attack on the French forces at Louisbourg. Today, there is only sand, sun and sea.
-
I was actually expecting it to be the Pitstop, not just a Detour. The other gate at the far end is the primary entrance, and it is beautiful.
Another site closeby is the Louisbourg Lighthouse, which is the 1st lighthouse built in Canada. I wouldn't be surprised if they used it for a route marker.
-
I'm surprised nothing came up around the giant fiddle on the waterfront. That would have made a great Route Marker.
-
Our missing leg??? Cuba?
The team looks like the grey jacket FF
-
Cuba?!
-Jaw drops
-
um usa need vist cuba next
-
um usa need vist cuba next
I'm not sure they'd feel ready yet. While Canadians and Australians have long been welcome in Cuba, the US is just now restoring relations.
-
Filming NOW???
just said she thought they saw the filming of the amazing race downtown tonight. They asked the film crew and they said it was a traveling tv show ☺
https://www.facebook.com/vince.wallace.98?fref=nf
Well, if they're going to Newfoundland, the Sydney - Port Aux Basques ferry leaves at 11:45 AM and PM, which would have been 45 minutes ago.
https://www.marineatlantic.ca/en/plan-your-travel/Schedule/
-
I can't believe they went to Cuba. A real exotic place. :conf: The question is, did they film 2 legs? I hope so.
-
What about Cuba?
What can I say? :funny: :funny:
-
There was a bus. There was talk about a bus. There are NO SIGHTINGS of teams on the bus.
But JIC, here are the AM flights for Halifax...essentially they can go anywhere.
-
Please watch for airport tweets from Halifax and Toronto
-
Saint John, huh? We heard about a bus last night, I wonder if they took the Digby Ferry (which crosses the Bay of Fundy and docks in SJ)
-
Would be quicker to drive there direct on land.
-
This race is rounding up pretty nicely now!
So... Assuming New Brunswick is the penultimate leg (Peach said 4 teams left), we have one more leg. This means if we have all the legs, 11 legs but if Cuba is 2 legs we have a full 12 leg race.
The finale could be anywhere, they could end in Quebec. Maybe Northern Manitoba. Or they could end in Northwest Territories so they finally get a Pitstop!
-
I agree Quebec's a pretty likely endpoint. In a race representative of the country, they're not going to leave out French Canada.
-
Yep, and they always go for the big, scenic locales in the finales.
-
I like the big scenic outdoor finales myself, NOT the cities.
-
Saint John is New Brunswick's biggest city, but for the longest time I thought Moncton (near where they went the last time) was.
The only province/territory whose capital hasn't been visited.
-
I like the big scenic outdoor finales myself, NOT the cities.
Agreed!
-
Do we know who the final 4 teams are. I know we have seen 2 of the FF teams but do we know who they other 2 teams are?
-
Just looking around on Google Maps. The St. Andrew's Blockhouse looks promising. It's a National Historic site. http://www.pc.gc.ca/eng/lhn-nhs/nb/standrews/index.aspx (http://www.pc.gc.ca/eng/lhn-nhs/nb/standrews/index.aspx)
Also Algonquin Golf Course, and Algonquin Resort.
-
The cars were parked in front of the Bank of Montreal building at the corner of King and Prince William in downtown Saint John.
-
So...Bus to Saint John and then POSSIBLE self drive to Saint Andrew or points nearby?
And ..looking ahead, how are we getting out? Best airports for flights?
-
Saint John, no? Or should I say "Non?" LOL
Tomorrow's departures
But with tomorrow being Victoria Day, I wonder if they'll delay it until Tuesday?
-
Best Finale City of those?
-
Best Finale City of those?
Got to go with Montreal. But they might do something similar to last season and travel to a nearby location.
-
Why did I think we had been to Montreal? :ascared:
-
According to Google Maps, this town is an hour west of Saint John.
The Quebec border is straight north, but I can't see them driving a distance like that for a final leg.
-
Why did I think we had been to Montreal? :ascared:
In season 2, but the only highlight IMO was the Sukhi & Jinder FF incident. LOL
-
Re: Kingsbrae Gardens task: could be a tree planting task or other garden thing BUT they had a Members Appreciation Garden Party today from 1 to 5.
-
In the comments of the garden pic, someone said they saw another group. If anyone wants to ask, that would be great.
-
Are there any evidence for a Cuba leg, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter... :funny:?
-

How many cars? Four?

Instagram. Photos of a cluebox, Canada envelope, and a team. It's in the sightings thread :)

It didn't come in until after-the-fact.
Cuba was among the international destinations out of Toronto the day they left from Kingston.
-
If you look up Kingsbrae Gardens, they have a sculpture garden with a crazy amount of pieces.
http://kingsbraegarden.com/art-at-kingsbrae/ (http://kingsbraegarden.com/art-at-kingsbrae/)
So I wonder if the task involves finding certain sculptures.
-
The cars were parked in front of the Bank of Montreal building at the corner of King and Prince William in downtown Saint John.
How many cars? Four?
There were 5, but that doesn't mean anything. Several times we have noticed more cars necessary for the number of teams remaining. I believe there were 20 cars reported in Kingston.
-

Could be extra cars for break downs, the US version have used replacement cars, not that I have noticed them at the pickup spots.

In Kingston, that section of the street was closed off and it was officially labeled as a TV Commercial shoot. It wasn't. :groan:
-
I was talking with Sue and she made a good point, the finale may not be until tomorrow. Today is a holiday here in Canada, so a lot of things are closed.
-
I noticed someone has already created the Wikipedia page, listing a couple of the locations (only the ones the newspapers saw, not from us).
Seems a tad early for that, we must still be at least a couple weeks away from the cast announcements. So not much else to say yet.
Edit: Looks like it's gone
-
Newfoundland out of question???
blahblah :gaah: :gaah: :groan: (:;) :tantrum :tantrum :lala :escape. :iok

Newfoundland out of question???

Nope.
-
But travel from New Brunswick to Newfoundland is hard, no direct flights and the easiest ferry route from New Brunswick is to drive the rough PEI and parts of Cape Breton
-
5 cars???? So does that mean 12 legs???? Or is there a twist because wasn't there only 4 in Halifax
A twist like TAR China when someone came back in the race
-
But travel from New Brunswick to Newfoundland is hard, no direct flights and the easiest ferry route from New Brunswick is to drive the rough PEI and parts of Cape Breton
There is an early connection through Halifax.
-
There was a charter flight (Air Canada Jazz) that arrived in Saint John from Sydney Saturday morning at 8am - this was flight # 9021
Yesterday morning, the same charter flight (Air Canada Jazz) left Saint John bound for Montreal - this was flight # 9022.
It would make no sense to keep the same flight hanging around in Saint John for two days if it wasn't needed - there are daily flights to Montreal through regular Air Canada.
-
Time of that Montreal airport sighting suggests they came in via Halifax.
-
Knew it would be somewhere in Quebec :P
They have to have the French element, of course.
-
I currently have my eye on a crazy flightpath on flight radar. Could be something, could be nothing. No destination or flight info.

Base Location: ST-HUBERT
File Location Region: Dorval

Well, you know how Amazing Race final legs love helicopters, so there could be a connection.
-
Re: Flight radar site: u can replay the flightpath.

The poster showed Dorval as well. duh, Montreal suburb

Question:
Why via Halifax?
Why a REST DAY before the FINALE?
5 cars seen Sunday, that leg ended Sunday,
Could we have missed a leg in HALIFAX yesterday? ???
-
Question:
Why via Halifax?
Why a REST DAY before the FINALE?
5 cars seen Sunday, that leg ended Sunday,
Could we have missed a leg in HALIFAX yesterday? ???
IMO they would want an early morning start. To get out of St Andrews would mean a middle of the night release. Therefore, yesterday would have been too soon/insufficient rest period?
-
Question:
Why via Halifax?
Why a REST DAY before the FINALE?
5 cars seen Sunday, that leg ended Sunday,
Could we have missed a leg in HALIFAX yesterday? ???
They might have taken the day off due to everything being closed yesterday for the Victoria Day holiday.
Saint John is New Brunswick's largest city, but I don't think it's really considered a major centre for air travel. Halifax is really the hub of everything in the Maritimes.
I thought they usually added an extra car in case one turns out to be a dud, at least in the American race
-
Not getting it. WHat I an saying is suppose they went to Halifax yesterday? Maybe for a leg?
The sighting this AM in St Andrew was apparently just crew, that could have been the eliminated team's crew going home, at this stage they get released.
-
So you two think they drove not flew to Halifax?
-
There may be 3 helicopters. New one circling Saint-Jean sur Richelieu/Napierville. What is there?
-
Well, Napierville Dragway, and Saint-Jean sur Richelieu has a military base
-
Whatever this task is going to be, there's 2 platforms, so probably not a Roadblock.
-

Or 1 could be for crew???

Is this finale or final four???
-
Is this finale or final four???
The thing at the Biosphere absolutely looks like a finale-style task. It's always possible there's a decoy team running with them.
Saturday will be one month since the starting line/to the premiere, they have to get done soon so the Editing Department can get to work :P
-
Biosphere hours. Just cuz. :spy:
-

I know America's version does decoy teams on the final leg, but Canada's doesn't, does it?
-
You never know!
-
Is this finale or final four???
Maybe both if they adopted the Final 4 Finale format with a mid-leg elimination we had from TAR 25 and 26.
-
Here is the chalet. It just screams "finish line", doesn't it? From there, there's a panoramic view of the Montreal skyline in the background.

Just waiting for Emmett or Jillian to make their first tweet since April to confirm the race is over :P
-
Route Possibilities I see
If cuba was 2 legs:
Leg 8: non-elim (5 teams left)
Leg 9: Kor
Leg 10: elim in Sydney ( 4 teams left)
Leg 11: elim in New Brunswick(final 3)
Leg 12: Montreal finale
or
Leg 8:Kor (5 teams left)
Leg 9: non-elim
Leg 10: elim in Sydney ( 4 teams left)
Leg 11: elim in New Brunswick (final 3)
Leg 12: Montreal finale
If Cuba was 1 leg:
Leg 8: Kor (5 teams left)
Leg 9: elim in Sydney ( 4 teams left)
Leg 10: elim in New Brunswick (final 3)
Leg 11: Montreal finale
Leg 8: non-elim(5 teams left)
Leg 9: elim in Sydney ( 4 teams left)
Leg 10: elim in New Brunswick (final 3)
Leg 11: Montreal finale
Keep in mind that because we started out with 10 teams, we need 4 non-elim and/or kor legs to reach 12 legs. So if Cuba was 1 leg that was either a non-elim or kor and there going for 12 legs, it is possible the New Brunswick leg was a non-elim and leg 11 was Montreal ( matching the tweet sighting of 4 teams).
-
2 Cuba legs is a good reason. We did miss 2 days so maybe a KOR in Cuba? But if so where will the finale be
NVM just realized that 2 Cuba legs would be the other leg. But we don't know if Montreal is the finale!!!!
-
Jillian is back on Twitter.
-
Jillian is back on Twitter.
It's definitely finished, then. Both their Twitters were silent since before the race :)
-
So the picture of the classic cars in Cuba was taken on May 19. According to the timeline, that's the same night they arrived in Sydney.
-
I know, trying to clarify times.
Fixed! It was May 17.
-
2 things on the new Kingston photos...
1. Twinnie U-Turn strategy by Emmett & Jillian! :o
2. The bear is the mascot of the Queen's University football team.

Emmett & Jillian weren't using Natalie & Nadiya's strategy. From what I could see, they were U-Turned themselves by one of the women's teams and U-Turned another team to save themselves.
-
^^^it looks like f/f gray pckpacks, uturnd e and j, and they then uturnd the other m/f team
-
Right, right. Was tired last night. If it were that, their picture would be on the opposite sides :funny:
Not surprising they'd be a target.
-
Montreal is a terrific choice for a final leg, to be honest, if you hope to see the final 3 order shaken up by teams getting lost :funny:
Driving in Montreal is not for the faint of heart for many reasons. A maze of one-way streets and dead ends, construction zones and potholes ("Why Montrealers Have the Worst Road Rage in Canada")
From experience, this is true, it's the NYC of Canada for navigation. Kept getting turned around trying to get to the tunnel out of the city, and even driving around it is difficult.
-
If all the sightings are true (Mont-Royal, Little Italy and Old Montréal) then we will have an amazing finale leg!!
Bagel St-Viateur is a classic in the city!! I'm just really suprised there was no pictures of the racers because its such a big city, and in public space like that... kind of weird....
Plus I'm sure it will be better than season 2 Montreal leg, Which I think was not really representative of my city!! :P
-
I couldn't agree more, and I can't wait to see it the way it should have been done in Season 2. That was a huge disappointment. I think it's one of the major reasons I suspected Montreal would be the finish line this year.
-
So Season 4 is premiering on June 28. Which is a bit earlier than previous seasons (Probably due to the Summer Olympics effect).
Season 3 premiered on July 08, 2015, with teams bios officially posted on June 19, 2015.
Considering this, can we assume they'll be doing the same next week, for Season 4 cast.
Also, Trying to remember if they did also reveal most or part of the route around that time, so we can maybe figure out the legs we are missing.

Last season, teams were announced in groups beginning that Monday (June 15 I think?) on CTV shows Etalk, Marilyn Denis & I think The Social.
They do not reveal the route, but we always check the number of episodes they announce in their media release.
-
Nah, they don't reveal the route, but last year they did a release at the end of June like "These are the regions we visited! Also, India"
-
Just realized something no team has ever been eliminated in Quebec
-
I just realized something myself. With the teams now revealed and Frankie & Amy known to be a mother/daughter team, it looks like they've broken the record for longest-lasting mother/daughter team in any TAR version. Nancy & Emily still hold the record in the U.S. version at F5, but Frankie & Amy, assuming they're really in the F4 (and they very well might be), are guaranteed to break the record for all versions, since they'll at least be at fourth place or higher.

Marty & Hagan of US 28 has looked the most competitive mom/daughter since Nancy & Emily of S1, unfortunately they made a fatal mistake in leg 2, cost them a race

Nope. Nancy & Emily still has the record as they reached F5 in the U.S. version. Deirdre & Hillary of TAR US 2 are the shortest mom/daughter competed in one single leg and eliminated at the end.

I know this. Nancy & Emily will hold the record for the U.S. version. But Frankie & Amy will hold the record for every version, not just the American version, since we know they're likely going to finish fourth or higher.

Do we no who the F3 are ? & thank you
-
Do we no who the F3 are ? & thank you
No, it will be a surprise.
Hopefully a strong end to a really strong cast
-
Do we no who the F3 are ? & thank you
RFF doesn't reveal the F3 (so the finalists, winner and all that are still a surprise).
-
So am I right in concluding that Emmett does not only two Roadblocks in a row, but both are height RBs? (Jasper Skytram & Calgary Tower). Oh my. :groan:
-
Not entirely sure whether this will be an 11 or 12 leg race. Unlike the US, TAR Canada is and always has been pretty hush on locations past the coming week (with the exception of last season when they immediately announced India).
12 legs would mean a whopping 4 Non-Eliminations, but there was still a bit of gap in time after Leg 8 Cuba.
-
Well, hmm, Leg 2's result tonight throws a big wrench into our timeline, heh
The team that was expected to be out comes 2nd place, and it's a NEL
-
I'm not aware of a lot of spoilers boot-order wise but omg... does it seem like Stephané & Antoine get the boot next week over Anne & Tanya instead?
-
Well, hmm, Leg 2's result tonight throws a big wrench into our timeline, heh

Well not THAT much... we know from the BC leg that we have 7 cars = 7 teams left, which means that the 2 vietnam legs are both EL... I guess the info about leg 4 being NEL with Julie & Lowell being last was not good... maybe they were the last team safe...
So we don't know in what order S/A and T/A are out... I remember seeing a pic of 8 teams standing in line for something... but I was sure it was from Leg 3...
-
I'm not aware of a lot of spoilers boot-order wise but omg... does it seem like Stephané & Antoine get the boot next week over Anne & Tanya instead?
I'm not so sure tbh. Stephane and Antoine have proved to be a strong team, and Anne and Tanya seem to be in trouble next leg due to an accident. And I'm not sure how helpful it will be, but the Father & Son are from Quebec and Vietnam was a former French colony, maybe French will be more beneficial to use than English next Leg?

Yeah, given Anne & Tanya's performance thus far, it won't surprise me if they go home before Stephane & Antonie. But even if they do, Stephane & Antonio are almost definitely after them.
I'm just shocked at the leg-two NEL. The only other version to do that was the only season of Ukraine's version.

No, English is more popular in Vietnam than French.

YES. There were 8 teams waiting in line. But I guess we didn't take into account why they were waiting... Were Stephane and Antoine the first in line, the others were waiting on them?

Here's what scott14 posted in the live sightings thread with scott14's team analysis. Either they weren't seen in the picture, maybe at the back of Joel & Ashley. So it's possible that Joel & Ashley did not come in last in Ho Chi Minh leg and it wasn't a NEL, based on the sightings?? ???
-
I had my own copy of that pic.
Yes, they could have been at the back of the line, but look at the part I circled, behind the hats piled up.
-
BTW developments from last night's episode also holds interesting things for how that Kingston W-Turn was handled.
-

Agreed, no doubt this Big Brother/Steph & Kristen rivalry could be an ongoing storyline. But we know they don't get the Express Pass, and who does.
So it's possible Anne & Tanya could be out before Stephane & Antoine, then? Next week's preview shows Tanya needing medical attention :(
-
Do we know if that 8 teams photo was taken in 3rd or 4th leg? And are we sure that 4th leg was really NEL?
-
So am I right in concluding that Emmett does not only two Roadblocks in a row, but both are height RBs? (Jasper Skytram & Calgary Tower). Oh my. :groan:
The first leg had two RBs. So Emmett did not perform two RBs in a row.

You should know the different between "at risk" and "eliminated". The timeline is still right.
Stephane & Antoine actually can survive until final.
They survive leg 2. Leg 3, they may survive over Anne & Tanya. Leg 4, they will be eliminated here if it is not NEL as spoiler.
Leg 5, they may survive over Kate & Kelly. They even can survive leg 6 if it is NEL/KOR. They may survive over Lowell & Julie at leg 7. And if leg 8 is another NEL/KOR, they can survive again.
-

As so, could you count Jillian and Emmett's RBs perform in the whole race?

We didn't know about the two RBs when I speculated that LOL
-
We know from the preview Jillian's doing next week's Roadblock (the duck-herding task from TAR15 Vietnam!)
-
Possible Double Elim???
-
Possible Double Elim???
That's my best theory too. It would explain a few things!
-
Possible Double Elim???
That's my best theory too. It would explain a few things!
I'm adding a new theory as well. How about forced withdrawal from the Race since temperatures in Vietnam were hot during those times and required medical attention due to dehydration. We know from the preview that Tanya fainted and Anne calling for medic.
-
I had my own copy of that pic.
Yes, they could have been at the back of the line, but look at the part I circled, behind the hats piled up.
Great eyes WindsorSue. I saw from the preview after watching Episode 2, Stephane & Antoine made it to Vietnam :conf:

...that's what I meant, and I think Fossil did as well. That article said 2 cast members needed medical (along with 2 crew). And I think that's why the next leg HAD to be an NEL. It explains a few other things too.
-
There could be one more possibility I guess. One team goes out due to medical, and the other team goes out next week for medical, turning it into an NEL. Or maybe I've been thinking too much about this. :iok

The title of ep 4 is Shine your light and there was a karaoke challenge. And I immediately think about this "Shine your light." :D

If they have to sing this song, it will be so difficult. As Vietnamese, I sometimes can't hear what they are singing lol
-
If they were to get there, that karaoke would be Anne's task. She's the trained singer! (Opera takes a good set of cords to do)
-
Something must have happened on Leg 4 that was unexpected, according to the timeline. Next week should have an interesting ending.
8 teams in Leg 4. 7 teams return to Canada the following leg based on number of cars. Yet Leg 4 was seen to be a NEL.
-
I think that leg is simply an elimination leg. Anne & Tanya are out next, right? Maybe they just got so far behind, they ended up checking in past 1 the spoilers saw the other teams. Or they didn't check in at all, and John had to go out onto the course and eliminate them.
-
I believe the fighter task in leg 6 is at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, in Mount Hope just south of Hamilton. I've driven past it several times, but never been in.
Also, we have speculated that this is a KOR, since Joel and Ashley were seen at the Aldershot Go Station, in transit to Union Station. Two possibilities for a leg 6 pitstop may be the RBG - the Royal Botanical Gardens or Dundurn Castle. Both are close to Aldershot.
-

It is. Their social media posted about it.
Also, it's located right at Hamilton's main airport, so obviously this is going to be the very first task.

Why not add their post?

It's looking like only an 11 leg race. This is the likely scenario now based on timeline.
Leg 7 Kingston - F6 EL
Leg 8 Cuba - NEL (only one international leg :( )
Leg 9 NS - F5 EL
Leg 10 NB - F4 EL
Leg 11 Montreal - Finale
-
We already know that right? The TimeLine has those legs...
???
-
Was kinda hoping for a 12th somehow, meaning an extra NEL :P But I guess it'll still be 12 weeks with it taking a week off for this recap special.
Oh and by the way, you guys elsewhere wouldn't get the commercials, but just thought I'd mention that in the commercial for the Mentos contest (the reason for the closeups on it), they have a silhouette of the skyline of Montreal...including the BioSphere.

Havana, Cuba :yess:
-
Soeculation: Without knowing who the remaining 2 eliminations are (at F5 the sightings started to lessen) I speculate Steph & Kristen are a lock for final 3. Their only leg below 2nd has been due to the Express Pass, it'd take something catastrophic to knock them out.
The finalists could be obvious. We have 3 teams who have collectively won every leg except 1, then 2 who have spent the race floating in the middle of the pack (one you can kinda forget they're still here at times). But hard to say, because often one of those latter teams ends up in the final leg somehow...I.e. Vanessa & Celina, Ryan & Rob :P
-
I wish that teaser was something new so here's one:
I believe there is a dancing task in Cuba.
-
We didn't get much. Difficult country to get spoilers out of due to the isolated nature of it.
The sugar cane (I think that's what it is) Detour could be at the same place where the cluebox sighting Oval found was, looks like it could be kind of hotel lobby, similarly coloured walls. But I recall the owner of the picture never responded to tell us exactly where that was taken.
-

More of this teaser:
I believe this is the other option of the detour.
2 teams were sighted attempting this side of the detour.
Its shaping up to be a good leg tonight!
-
Joel & Ashley, Frankie & Amy, Rita & Yvette all choose the dancing. Ashley tweeted a picture the other day
https://twitter.com/tv_eh/status/767132892912873472

So, I first thought the task at Fortress Louisbourg in Leg 9, Cape Breton involved gunpowder in those barrels. However, I came upon this the other day:
http://www.fortressrum.com/ (http://www.fortressrum.com/)
Apparently they age rum imported from the Caribbean in the ledgers at the fort, just like they did 300 years ago. I think that's what the canon fire & rolling the barrels up to the storerooms is about - they have to defend the rum during an attack by the English or pirates.
-
Love it! HoHoHo and :keeta:
-
And they mentioned rum twice? on the Cuba leg. Maybe there is a connection??
-
And they mentioned rum twice? on the Cuba leg. Maybe there is a connection??
I thought the same thing. Plus, it re enforces that whole Canadian connection thing. LOL
Also, I really want a bottle of that rum!

http://www.bierdopje.com/shows/the-amazing-race-canada/episode/S04E10
Episode 10 title is
"We're Doing It Wrong! We're In Big Trouble"
The remaining teams race to Saint John, N.S. where a Detour puts them in a sticky situation.
One location sighted was the Crosby's Molasses factory, so it's obvious what this is referring to  That should be a fun task.
-
It's interesting how the leg 5 placements are currently translating where the teams eventually place.
Team Averages
Steph/Kristen 2.22
Jill and Emmett 2.55
Joel and Ashley 3.33
Frankie and Amy 4

It looks like the average place at the end of each leg. Total up the placements (1+4+2+2...etc) and divide by 9 legs.

Not seeing hints of what a final memory challenge could be. Anyone else?
Season 1 was provincial flowers worn by the greeters and their flags, Season 2 was landmarks, Season 3 was calculating distance traveled.
-

Nothing comes to mind, and nothing from the sightings.
But I keep expecting other TAR versions to adapt / re-use TAR12 Memory Challenge.
-
It seems that there are many music-related task. It will be wonderful if they have to listen and realize which music they have heard from which leg. But I'm pretty sure it's not the case because most of dancing/music are just one of the detours.

There have been a lot of costumes or specific gear required during most legs, but I am not sure about every leg?
-
It'd be interesting if it is one TAR All-Stars/Australia have used on a final leg, kinda of a pseudo-memory challenge.
The "how well do you know your partner?" One person answered questions about other teams, the other's answers had to match.
-
The Sunday 5/22 leg ( ? #)
ended at Minister's Island--
A protected historic site and former summer home of railroad baron Sir William Van Horne.
http://www.ministersisland.net/.
Or....maybe not? No activity seen on island and by report, there may have been an "unexpected" cancellation.
So...where was the 5/22 MAT?
And where were teams until 5/24? Hanging at the Algonquin? ???
Yeah, the logistics of that would be tricky to plan. It's accessible via a 1 km road on the ocean floor during low tide. But that's only a few hours window each day, and the timing differs each day.
But maybe there's a chance they did end there, and therefore had to wait for the next low tide.
This would have similarly been in a factor in Season 2's By Sea Detour, too.
-
I updated that post weeks ago, please read it here:
http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php/topic,32067.msg1166429.html#msg1166429
As best as we can tell, Ministers Island was NOT used, they reported an "unexpected cancellation"and on the ground people saw no one.
I think there is a good possibility THIS was the MAT, Jon was seen here ?rehearsing? --am waiting for the exact location:
-
Jon's location in this clip they posted appears to be a match https://twitter.com/AmazingRaceCDA/status/772086866724032512 This is probably what they saw.
If it is the Pit Stop: Eh, the spot where the final 3 is determined could have been a little more picturesque :P We just had an east coast beach last leg. Ministers Island would have been perfect.
-
They came in 3rd and avoided near elimination. Do they have what it takes to win it all in Montreal? :funny:
Here's my secret I've been keeping:

So Amy turned into fire which melted the ice she originally had and Frankie turned into ice when her fire was extinguished :funny: :funny:
-
I don't think we should read that far with those tweets.
I disagree. It was a sarcastic comment of 'good luck in the finale' when Amy knows the end result. Ergo, JoAsh don't win.
-
It'll probably be Steph & Kristen, then. Jemmett is getting too negative an edit, and those teams never win. But then again, Dana & Matt.
-
I remember Rex got like that.
Rex & Bob and Nicole & Cormac got so nasty and bitter and salty during the Mid-Race and finale reunions. They were horrible. I hope Frankie & Amy are not like that.
The tweets could really mean both things. Joel & Ashley win which makes Amy even more bitter. Or Amy thinks they get their karma by losing.
Anyway, from an editing standpoint, an interesting point from the FB casuals. Remember when Emmett tried to hold up Joel & Ashley that one time when they dropped their clue? And of course Steph & Kristen U-Turning them after promising not to. (Plus Ashley keeping their Express Pass secret)
From an editing standpoint, they could use that to help "justify" a Joel & Ashley win.
-
I remember Rex got like that.

If JoAsh had won, no way Amy makes a sarcastic 'good luck in the finale' comment.
And I think Amy's sarcastic 'good luck' comment was made as a retort to Ash's sarcastic 'read the clue' comment (with same emoji).

I agree. No way she would say that if JA won. I've been away, trying to catch up! (Why do I always miss the good bits???)
Did Amy delete that "good luck in the finale" tweet? I can't find it.
And Rex was worse...by far. Remember dropping the F-bomb on the post-show to Pierre and Michel? UGH.
-
Yes Amy deleted the tweet, probably due to the harsh 'fake bitch' comment and/or the spoilery content.
-
I can understand the bitterness from Amy and Frankie. As much as I liked them, it was pretty foolish to trust anybody's answer by the time you get to the Final 4. Especially when it only takes a minute to reread the clue and think about it. Other teams have every reason to give you misinformation and improve their chances of making the finals. Maybe if you were confident of making it and were deep strategic thinkers, you might help Frankie and Amy to eliminate a stronger team and bring a weaker team to the finals. However, Joel and Ashley don't strike me as that team.
-
I honestly think F/A were more pissed at all of the smirks to the camera from Ash. Reminded me of Survivor Grant being pissed off at seeing BostonRob play him for a fool in S22.

Any news on TARC Season 5?
It would have been posted here if there was...
-
Probably nothing but...
Mike Bickerton will be starting a new project (not TAR related) and he tweeted a pic with the World Map in the bg...
The interesting thing is...if you look at the pins on the map, it's the S2 legs. Meaning he posted an old pic. You can read what you want into that. LOL
-
You are the BEST Sue!! Never would have seen that in a zillion years.
I don't think this is TAR related, but glad he has something fun to do!!
