Title: Airport Drama
Post by: Ozzymayhem4 on April 13, 2016, 08:21:13 PM
Okay, so i'm just wondering what you guys think, what season has the most airport drama? I just finished binge watching TAR 5 and that had a lot of it. So your thoughts?

This means what flights you get on, arguments, standby and connections

Probably ... never watched it :funny: (I really should though)

I know this is not answering the question but since this is called "Airport Drama" I'm gonna throw this out here: I really miss airport/flight drama :( As a viewer who started watching since Season 17, this is all I've really seen (OTHER than bits and pieces of earlier seasons online):

TAR 17:
-Michael & Kevin getting an earlier flight right after being NEL'd :hrt:
-Jill & Thomas getting a huge lead on Brook & Claire/Nat & Kat/Nick & Vicki/Chad & Stephanie

TAR 20:
-small standby suspense with Dave & Rachel/Art & JJ in Leg 2
-Rachel vs. Vanessa I long for a dramatic season like this again

TAR 21:
-Abbie & Ryan/Josh & Brent/Frankfurt!

TAR 23:
-Nicky & Kim getting on standby before anyone else  :hrt:

TAR 25:
-Kym & Alli getting a better flight than Misti & Jim/Adam & Bethany

TAR 26:
-Mike & Rochelle randomly getting on the first flight to Monaco (or France? ??? )

As you can see, this list is a joke compared to what would happen in the earlier seasons.

Due to every season since season 15 having a MINIMUM of 3 non-flying legs, and no more of 12 hour pit stops, we have less airport drama.

I just suddenly realized how much of a factor it is for flight drama! :ascared Now that you mentioned it, I'm missing its relation to the flight drama.

TAR 21:
-Abbie & Ryan/Josh & Brent/Frankfurt!

TAR 23:
-Nicky & Kim getting on standby before anyone else  :hrt:

TAR23's flight drama was the most memorable for me. I really like TAR21's and TAR23's flight drama with how they turned out, but I just wanna add to TAR23's about Chester & Ephraim's very unfortunate incident. :funny:

We did have some 12- hour pit stop.
One example comw up very quickly to me is season 21 in the Nertherlands (leg 9)

Airport drama was such an integral part of the show in golden era of TAR (S1-11) as it provided a lot of character moments and kept the audience on its toes. Production decided to buy tickets more often and make certain travel-timings mandatory. It's a big shame as the unknown factor was exciting of who would make a flight or not.

Leg 3 of season 2 when teams were trying to reach Cape Town always sticks out in my head for airport drama, I really miss the seasons like that where so many great and tense moments came in the airport.

And who can ever forget Charla and Mirna sneaking off for the earlier flight to Egypt? Those are more of the kinds of moments the Race needs.

Charla & Mirna, as far as I remember, are the best in looking for flights especially in times of flight drama. :conf:

And drama with the travel agents too.
"Desmond, kick some people off. They don't need to go to Hong Kong, we need!" :funny:
"What number do you need to dial, nine?" :grins:
Christo working overtime prayer circle :luvya:

-Rachel vs. Vanessa I long for a dramatic season like this again
What was this fight all about exactly? I completely blanked about the subject they were trying to point on.

I think it was about cutting in line at customs, but I'm not exactly sure.

Would be incredible to go to Hong Kong, as that leg they were going to Zanzibar :funny:.

No Desmond was in Kuala Lumpur, they were flying to Hong Kong, but the other two were going to Zanzibar.

Charla & Mirna are queens of airports

Season 5
Leg 3 : Airport Confront with Marshall & Lance
Leg 5 : Finding earlier flight to Egypt, running away while everyone was sleeping
Leg 7 : Finding a supposed earlier flight to Tanzania, only to have it being delayed  :(

Season 11
Leg 6 : Taking a risk choice to Johannesburg, turn out to be a smart option and take a head over everyone else for around half-a-day
Leg 9 : Finding flights that no other teams know to Kuala Lumpur
Leg 10 : Hong Kong Standby flight drama, confront with beauty queens
Leg 13 : Taking a risky connection in Tokyo, which helps them to gain a 10-min lead to Hawaii

Some of their best dramatic moments happened at travel agencies and airports! :)
"I need a doctoro."
"We're lucky we didn't get killed."
