I can't wait to see you all on my screen! I have such a high expectation for this season, and I'm sure it won't disappoint me
-
James-Earl <3
-
So glad you two, James Earl, and Tiffany Chantell could join the never-ending posting party! I will certainly be rooting for you two! Best of racing, Justin & Diana!
(Is this the record for most racers from one season to join RFF?)
-
This is impressive, especially when one considers that in the early seasons, CBS strongly discouraged direct fan-Racer interaction before a team was eliminated, or until the finale. This is much better, of course, so "Thank You" to Justin, Diana, and James Earl (and Tiffany -- just saw your post in the episode 1 thread), for joining in. Some of us are "what rules have changed?" freaks, so I hope we'll get chances to ask.
P.S. I hope y'all loved the season's general route as much as I did. It's seems it will be one of my favorite Race courses, ever.
-
I think Mikey from season 26 made an account because on the bottom of my screen I see latest member: MikeyZEROE. I think he goes by this on twitter.

nothing changed we are just a more active cast. it's always better to ask for forgiveness than permission. Plus non of us will break the rules they worry about. we will only talk about what has aired already and no spoilers.
This seasons cast is pretty close we talk/text/facebook/snapchat a lot with each other.
We all love the show and want to see it for years to come. So we all want to stay active online and on social media.
As a superfan I really feel that season 27 will quickly become a top 5 season. The route is awesome!, The cast is diverse, no gimmicks, and a great nostalgia feel for fans who have been watching for over 10 years.
:cheer: :hearts: :conf: :luvya: :wohoo: :trampb:

I am thinking this is going to be a superseason too!! Love the nostalgia part!!

weather was beautiful and it didn't cross my mind about Jason and Amy until after the fact! .. oh well lesson learned!

A now appropriate question since episode 1 has aired; if you're permitted to answer and you team performed the puzzle detour.....how long did it take your team to complete that puzzle?
And in addition to the new twist on the Express Pass are there any other rule changes this season that were evident in episode one?
-
+ how long was the FF place away from the helicopters?
-
+ how long was the FF place away from the helicopters?
about a 30 min ride going there and 45 min ride coming back because of bad traffic
-
While things were being set up in Venice at the Start, BVM asked Rob and Brennan who did the gorge swing. Rob was quick to say not us! We are the idjits who took a FF on the first leg. :funny:
-
Justin and Diana
I got 2 questions.
How did you spend your money?
Can you explain the story behind the word beefcakes?
Thanks.
-
Okay, let's set some guidelines please.
Reminder to all the RFFers!! No racer posting here is to be asked for any SPOILER info. That includes via PM's.
We are so delighted and proud to have the racers here, but that means playing fair and being careful to not put any of them at any contractual risk at all. :ty3:
IF they want and are able to comment on the previous legs, that is fine. But we will all understand if they just use this guy too!!
:-X
That will mean no more about that for now. Okay??
And I know I can trust all our members to be super friendly and polite to our racer friends!
or face the wrath of the peach...

1. the Cab ride to the FF was 30 mins away and thats how we spent our money!
2. I didn't want to call them meatheads because that is negative so i tried to think of a word that got my point across without offending Josh and Tanner because I didn't know their names yet ....Beefcake is an old school compliment for guys with big muscles. I have used it since the wrestler Brutis the barber Beefcake..lol

I don't think many teams completed the puzzle in the first place. If I remember correctly, it was only us, ChacAttack, Cheerleaders, and TMZ. I finished the puzzle in about 6 minutes. I'm not sure how long it took the other teams.

I have a question for JustinandDiana...
When you won the "prize" of the early flight, as fans, did you all consider what a double edged sword that was? WE know that you never want to be alone...if that flight had been more delayed you could have been eliminated because of that. :ascared
Just wondered if refusing it was an option....

Not one second did we ever think " Maybe we should lose this first task" We wanted to be leaders not followers our plan going in was to play to win not play just to survive. But as a superfan I understood the risk/reward

Hey justin, do you think the edit you are getting now is justified? I think it's biased and you guys are negatively portrayed and i didn't like that.

Hey justin, do you think the edit you are getting now is justified? I think it's biased and you guys are negatively portrayed and i didn't like that.
there is a heavy edit to make it look one way. I didn't have a problem with Josh and Tanner. of course i looked at them like a threat. I had no idea they didn't like me that much. there have been some funny edits that make things look like i'm talking about them when i wasn't. and they have tossed in a few laughs in places i wasn't laughing but i'm not upset about it. As a fan it's really interesting and makes for some good drama and competition. and I'm cool with Josh and Tanner they are actually really good dudes
-
Editing is ...editing. Words said at different times with different meanings have sometimes been inserted in totally unrelated situations.
Clearly CBS wants to make some drama, whether it really existed or not. I'd get ready for more of the same...sigh.

Hi JustinandDiana, congrats on winning Leg 2 and a trip to Morocco! I have two questions about the Buenos Aires leg.
1. During the cartoneros Detour option, about how much time did it take you two to collect and bag up 100 kg of cardboard?
2. After checking in with Phil in Rio and before Leg 2 started, did you meet and greet all-or-most of the teams, or was it just the ones shown lounging along the beach (Kelsey & Joey and one other team)? Or were all the teams there to explore and chat? Justin said you two didn't have the chance to get to know everybody at the airport, but I heard that teams were sequestered and prohibited from talking to one another after going to the Pit Stop accommodations.

Thank You!
1. It took about 20-30
2. No those were the only teams we got to meet. there may have been one or two more teams there doing interviews....teams are sequestered after pitstop check ins not during route markers while waiting at airports and what not. You know like when we were getting the info from denise and james earl and they gave it to Tanner and Josh.

This has been going on since season one, so it isn't new. Some seasons, we had racers report whole sentences were spliced together, and used. It is in the contracts the racers sign that they give permission for that sort of editing; e enough the infamous Tunis airport confrontation between Team Guido and the others teams in season one was mostly editing, and not the reality.
And don't forget the production staff that does the pit stop interviews can word their questions in such a way to get certain response from the teams. That's also a common editing device.
-
Congratulations on your Leg 2 win! I'm definitly rooting for you guys!
Have you taken the trip already?

thank you and nobody gets any prizes until after the whole season airs
i'm not mad at the editing. it is actually making for some good episodes so as a superfan i enjoy it plus I don't mind if people think i'm a cry baby or too excited/obnoxious
-
Hey from Australia you guys.
I don't really have anything interesting to ask but I want to just say I am supporting you on the show :hoot: :cheer: :<3

thank you! YOU ARE SO COOL.
That makes your team TOTALLY ROOTABLE! I've seen so many past teams having issue with the edit/portrayed negatively and got so upset with it. But the thing is, if you haven't said those things, then there's really nothing much for the editors to edit.
I like it that you're totally responsible for your words and cool about it. THANKS FOR BEING SO UPFRONT AND FRANK! <3
Edit 7 legs later: I take back my words. I don't care I'm manipulated by the edit or what but ew.

Loving this thread.

Great to see the current racers posting in this thread!
Justin and Diana, did you guys call yourselves the green team because you guys are fans of Brendon and Rachel? :funny:
Also, did you also set targets for yourselves, in terms of number of legs that you wish to win?

We did not choose to be called #TheGreenTeam we wanted #AuroraLove but green is special to us because of the northern lights. I hope we are not like the Brenchels lol and as a super fan winning one leg was the first goal but I wanted to be the first team to win them all lol!

The hashtags came from essentially what every other team referred to you as during the race. Everyone called Justin and Diana "The Green Team" for example.

The origin of this season's hashtags -- vvvvvvery interesting!

It's nice to know where the hashtags for TAR on social media come from. I am still confused why the relationships are not shown beside the members of each team. I personally would not want to be labeled by JUST a hashtag that makes me look like part of a "best friends team" if I was actually half of a parent-child or co-worker duo.
Also, James_Earl, did you think the penalty shown tonight was justified? I thought your mom's help in the flashback clip was more so words of advice than a direct give-away unless there was more to the story that wasn't aired.

So first off, we technically broke the rules and got the penalty that we deserved. It was kind of bitter because I didn't actually hear Mom say that to me and I figured out my mistake on my own. Unfortunately, the rule was broken so we got the penalty. I just wish we would have gotten some kind of advantage from it. At the end of the day, we weren't eliminated so it could have been much worse. Learned a lesson from it though!

Glad you and your mom are good sports and handled the 30 minutes with respect. :) I would have been hyperventilating and bewildered in that time. Can't wait to see more of Denise & James Earl in the coming weeks!

A couple questions for Justin and Diana:
When you caught the local bus after leaving the leg's Pit Start, did the driver tell you that the Bus Terminal he was going to was not the Buenos Aires one that is located only 20 minutes away from the Campo de Polo, but a secondary Terminal?
How did you manage to pay the bus? Did you get somehow coins at some point of your stay in Buenos Aires? Because I don't think you had a pre-paid card as any of us living here have and drivers don't sell tickets since the ticket dispensers started to being used.

1. We actually took a cab from the polo field and he dropped us off at that bus stop. (:;) ( we thought that bus would take us the whole way) When we got on the bus the driver didn't say anything about a whole different bus terminal he actually dropped us off about 10 blocks from the terminal we were suppossed to be at, in a dark alley with no signs! :o video here https://www.facebook.com/JustinClassic1/videos/vb.641069839272080/937902412922153/?type=2&theater
2. We tried to give him money but he said no so we were lucky enough to get a free ride :wohoo:
-
That's the old bus terminal. What I don't understand is why he didn't dropped you in the designated stop at the Terminal of local buses that is only three blocks away from the place you needed to go :groan: .

We were hoping the video shows him saying something in spanish when we get off the bus. like him telling us where to go and maybe i just didnt understand but it's crazy he left us in the middle of nowhere
-
Fortunately, you located the correct place and with enough time to catch the leading teams on the first bus. :)

Congrats on another first place, JustinAndDiana! I have a couple questions about the Zambia-Zimbabwe episode:
1) Did you two win anything for coming in first at the orphanage?
2) Since the visit to the orphanage, have you or will you stick true to the "resolution" of being more engaged in helping people within your community or elsewhere outside of the realm of The Amazing Race? And if yes, how so?
-

1. No we didn't win anything :gaah:
2. We have been secretly raising money for the Rose of Chairity. Diana has also been talking to her students about a special chairity and using it to teach the kids cool lessons about caring for others and what not
we have had to be careful not to let the charity slip so we have been low key up until now... Now it's full steam ahead! After we raise money to help those beautiful kids we are going to do some volunteer work! First things first lets help those kids https://www.gofundme.com/RoseofCharity
-
That sounds awesome :cheer: :luvya: :colors
(and I guess its understandable that they didn't give you a prize. It would seam sort of heartless and mean to give you "a trip for 2 from Travelocity to (insert location)" in front of those orphans who don't have much)
-
Justin and Diana
Just some questions I really want to ask...
1. If your team won the Express Pass in Leg 1 right, would you have pulled off a Tanner & Josh?
2. Would you accept the Express Pass from Tanner & Josh if they gave it to you (and do you guys have a choice)?
3. Regarding No. 1, who would you have given the Express too?
-

What?! No prize? I remember Brandon & Adam winning 5K and Jaime & Cara claiming they won jet skis even during these "Keep Racing" legs. :o
I am also sharing the orphanage GoFundMe page with co-workers and some relatives. Lovely people there and I am so glad and relieved nobody will seem to be eliminated in such a genuine, caring environment. The U-Turn placed right at the Pit Stop seemed very awkward though.
-
Just discovered this thread. Very nice of the racers to pop in here!! Can I just say that I absolutely loved when Justin started singing the song that TAR uses every time the show goes to Africa. I was humming along with it when it was used earlier in the episode! Love the true fans Justin!

Thank you so much Rachel!! Anyone who wants to help can share the link! https://www.gofundme.com/RoseofCharity (https://www.gofundme.com/RoseofCharity)

A question for our TAR27 racers.
How long are the pit stops for your season? Is it still 12 or 36 hours, or does it vary from leg to leg?

It varies. Not sure how the decide on the time but I guess it's by how long and strenuous the next leg will be.

Hi Racers,
So nice to have you post in here. I'm curious about your racing in Zimbabwe. At RFF, there were many who didn't think Zimbabwe would be a possible country due to US/Zimbabwe relations (which I'm going to plead ignorance on). Were you given any special warnings before going to the country, or did you notice anything different once in the country? I did find it interesting that WRP did minimize the number of publicly-accessible clue boxes (road block at the starting line, U-turn at the mat, clue inside the hostel, etc.). Wondered if y'all felt this as well.
Thanks!

I had no idea there were any issues between US and Zimbabwe and didn't notice any particular difference with the "feel" of the race while in Zimbabwe. Sorry that's not a juicier answer but it's just the truth.

I hope we are not like the Brenchels lol
Oh you guys don't need to worry about that, you guys are nothing like the best team in the post-UB era!

2. Would you accept the Express Pass from Tanner & Josh if they gave it to you (and do you guys have a choice)?
3. Regarding No. 1, who would you have given the Express too?
1. Definitely not. We would have used it Leg 5 Detour, or in a dire situation
2. Absolutely we would have accepted it. We tried to convince Texas it would be the best move...keep the top together, instead of bringing up a team from the back...but no. http://forum.realityfanforum.com/Smileys/classic/funny.gif
3. Joey and Kelsey

What are the rules and regulations for the FitBit while doing the race? Do you have to wear the trackers at all times (includes flight traveling), or is it just for promotional value? Is there some sort of penalty involved if you take the FitBit off during a leg?
-
3. Joey and Kelsey
Why? ???
-
Happy for your forth win, Justin and Diana.
Hope that the hate from many viewers and also users here in RFF does not affect you guys.
Love the fact that you two always stop the argument with a kiss lol
-
Congrats for your fourth wins #TeamGreen
Btw...
1. Did you worried that some teams could steal your winning after the roadblock?
2. Did you noticed that Tiff/Krista finished first at detour and if you did what was your thinking? And what is your opinion about them?
3. What is your opinion about Rotterdam leg...? Did you enjoy that leg?
Thanks Justin/Diana and hope enjoy this forum with us... And good luck
-
Congratulations on your fourth win and the high steps, high stakes dinero, Justin & Diana! :wohoo: I have a couple questions:
1. (Sorry for a requote, but it's relevant to the Rotterdam/The Hague episode too.)
What are the rules and regulations for the FitBit while doing the race? Do you have to wear the trackers at all times (includes flight traveling), or is it just for promotional value? Is there some sort of penalty involved if you take the FitBit off during a leg?
2. How would you describe how you felt during the ship simulation Detour task?

Ah, I forgot to ask you.
After knowing the prize, do you think that Diana's decision to walk across the bridge and her failed RB actually gave you more money?
-
3. Joey and Kelsey
Why? ???
They were the only team that we felt we could really trust at that time. We didn't know they were playing both sides lol
1. Yes , we knew that Krista and Tiffany would do great at the jump rope task so we kept pushing hard to the mat!
2. We were not close to their detour so we had no clue when they finished. What you didn't see was that Krista helped Diana during the Sunflower task and after that we felt a lot closer to them. ( It was one of only two times any team helped us)
3. Diana and I loved Rotterdam! The city has such a cool vibe, beautiful buildings and landscape. Parks everywhere! The sun didn't go down till 10pm. We both enjoyed the leg a lot other than the bickering!
1. We wear the FitBit From the time the leg starts until the time the leg ends. They take them from us and recharge them and get all of our info. we get them back at the start of each leg. Didn't have anything specific as a penalty. But no real reason why you would ever take them off.
2. The Ship task was really fun. It was like as awesome video game. Suprised how many teams had such a hard time with it. but it helped us gain a lot of the time we lost earlier.
After knowing the prize, do you think that Diana's decision to walk across the bridge and her failed RB actually gave you more money?
I feel if we took the taxi we would have had a lot smoother leg with no arguing and we would have been in first from start to finish. I hate that i acted that way and am so happy it all PAID off in the end. We did win A LOT more money because of it that's for sure!

I really appreciate you coming over here and answering all our questions. :<3
-
Kudos on another win, Justin & Diana! :hoot: Two more questions involving tonight's leg:
1. Approximately how many minutes ahead of Kelsey & Joey were you two upon stepping foot on the Pit Stop?
2. Seeing the collective group of local people and other travelers camping out for the night in Delhi, what were your impressions spending the night like the people there as you waited for the morning train to Agra?
-
Was the train ride from Delhi to Agra scary?

Justin and Diana or Green Team
I think it is so cool to see a team just dominate the race, hope you Guys beat the record with 9 wins!!!

WE WOULD ABSOLUTELY RETURN IN A HEART BEAT! No hesitation. We had so much fun and it was such a great experience! Thank you so much for the kind thoughts though. It means a lot especially tonight. I just cried watching the episode with my friends.

James Earl and Denise
one of my favorite parent-child teams ever
You guys were fill of fun and fight. I really hope you guys come back for all-stars.
Even though TAR 27 wasn't the best, you guys made up some of the best moments.
-
You all have been a joy to watch the whole season. You both can be incredibly proud of how well you raced. And even tonight was so close. :gaah:
Even on the mat at such a sad moment, you both showed incredible grace. I think we were all crying with you tonight.
-
Denise & James Earl you are easy one of the highlights of this season. You surprised me every single leg even when you were in the bottom or struggling to perfom a task you never gave up and that is something that I always appreciate. I hope we see you race again.
-
Guys! Y'all are gonna make me cry again! We really appreciate the support. It means the world. We are so glad to have the opportunity to race and experience everything! You here on RFF have been nothing but supportive and it's amazing! Thanks! :luvya:
-
James, you and your mom have been amazing and are gonna be missed on the race for sure :( It won't be the same without you guys, but at least I'm glad you raced for 10 legs. :yess:
I'm interested, which leg was your most and which one was your least favourite? :spy:

My favorite leg was probably the superleg in Africa (legs 4 and 5) mainly because Mom and I hit our stride and we got to do a lot of crazy fun things there! Least favorite is leg 10. When things got dark in Agra, it became super scary so it just added chaos to an already crazy experience. I enjoyed the race from start to finish though so don't get me wrong.
-
I hope you guys will get the chance to return!!! :cheer: So much fun to watch!
-
Please return James Earl <333 You and your mom are my favorite team this season <333
I have a question, though. Which season's route you feel most jealous of? Like you really want to race in which season?
-
James Earl, what was your favourite place you visited and why? so sad you guys were eliminated though :'( but you got a 1st place which i guess is cool!
-
I have a question so I'm gonna take advantage of any of teams in the forum but I'm not sure if it was already answered.
Were you prepared for any task/route marker involving "driving yourself"? Were you surprised that you never found a car that you needed to drive? Was it a talking point with other teams? Thank you in advance :)

I loved the leg in Zimbabwe!!! Mainly because we got to do so many cool things! Getting 1st place doesn't hurt either.

We were definitely told many, many times that we need to practice stick-shift driving before leaving for the race. We were all really afraid this season was going to be nothing but self-driving. Then we never self-drove which was shocking!
-
Also wanted to just reach out to everyone on here and thank ya'll all again for the support! Reading all of your kind words is so amazing especially since watching our elimination episode was really tough! :luvya: :luvya:

So justin how did enjoy hong kong where guy upset it was not full leg honk kong
-
James Earl... What do you think about this leg(HK-Macau leg)? Did you enjoy it?
And what do you think about F3?
-
The first episode is def going to be a lot of Crying, Hugging and Laughing. Can't wait to watch!
I don't know if Tiffany will ever see this but if she does... Tiffany & Krista, I don't think I'm alone when I say that you guys were the best team of this season. Both of you had winning attitudes. You were warm and friendly everywhere you went, even when the locals were less than favourable (India).
I was honestly nearly on the verge of tears during the recent episode and I literally cheered when Krista finally finished the Roadblock. You guys really didn't give up and fought every leg with your all! :hearts: :hearts: :hearts:
It was so heartbreaking watching your elimination, in RFF's hearts, we all know you two were the true winners of TAR27. (:
No question, just a thought shared.
-
Justin & Diana, I hope going through that HK half-leg didn't make you guys have bad impression of Hong Kong
Why did you guys persist on going to Macau from the Kowloon side, even though from the episode it seems clear that you were aware that it is different from the HK Island side? Was it because of frustration after getting lost in translation?
Can we know how much time roughly was between your official check-in (after penalty) and Tiffany & Krista's arrival?
& I do wish Tiffany & Krista were here because I love how they ran the race. They truly struggled at the beginning of the race but quickly found their footing and became a strong team :cheer: They persisted so much and I loved the scene this episode with Tiffany encouraging Krista at the RB!

I am super jealous of the roadblock in leg 11. That looked like so much fun but even if Mom and I survived she would have been doing that roadblock anyways so I would have just been jealous regardless. Mom and I think we would have chosen the phone side of the detour. It's hard when you aren't in the moment because you get so much more information about the task while watching it on TV. The drama and editing of the episode was amazing (even when I knew the end results). Mom and I were pulling for the cheerleaders once we were eliminated so when we heard the news it was such a bad day. The final 3 all have their strengths and weaknesses. Once the cheerleaders were eliminated, we were rooting for the reporters to win it all.
-
James Earl, what was the most exhausting leg for you and your mom?
-
Justin and Diana, what were your overall joys and shocks about traveling to Hong Kong and Macau? Was the navigation tougher than you had expected?
And James Earl, which Detour task would you and your mom have chosen to do in Hong Kong, and who would have volunteered to do the Roadblock: "Who wants to rise to the occasion?"

I asked mom and we both think we would have done the cell phone task because neither of us have any experience with sewing. If we would have survived leg 10, then Mom would have HAD to be the one doing the roadblock. I was at 6 to her 4 so I wouldn't have been able to do anymore.
James Earl, what was the most exhausting leg for you and your mom?
Paris was a really rough leg for us because of what happened with the restaurant. We ran around 18 miles that day on not much food and the heat was awful. We were so happy to still be in the race at the end of that leg but were so exhausted. Mom actually had a heat stroke that she was dealing with on the train to Rotterdam. We just kept pushing through though!
-
Justin and Diana. I have to ask will you return for an returnees season and is there anything you think you will do differently?
-
Justin & Diana, will you guys take all the trip prizes? I know you guys may want to save 40K$ for wedding or honeymoon. And the prizes come with the taxes? If only take one or two trips, where will you guys go?
-
And James, I think after the announcement, you firstly went to talk to Justin and Diana. What do you think about the result?

Well this is awkward. Lol. I'm fairly certain I ran to Kelsey and hugged her after everyone was at the mat. I was really rooting for them in the final leg but thought the green team deserved to win just as much!
