Previously on The Amazing Race Canada...
12 teams started the race. Sports and scores RB had teams tongue-tied, leaving Susan & Sharnjit and Max & Elias at the back. From on the air to in the air, teams struggled to keep their heads above water.
Gino & Jesse got 1st. In the end, Max & Elias were eliminated from the race.
11 teams remain.

Gino & Jesse depart 1st at 1:32 PM. Fly to Santiago, Chile! :hearts: There are 2 EPs up for grabs on this leg of the race. "Is Chile in Europe?" omg.
Nic & Sabrina - 2:51 PM. Wow so far behind! :o Sabrina say they're a very intimidating team. Nic can speak English, French, Italian and Spanish.
Brent & Sean - 3:34 PM.
Hamilton & Michaelia - 3:40 PM. They've backpacked in Europe together.
Simi & Ope - 3:54 PM. $275 US dollars for this leg of the race.
Dujean & Leilani - 4:20.
Brian & Cynthia - 4:22.
Missed someone.
Susan & Sharnjit 4:41 PM. They say they're alpha females so they're goal is to get #1.
Once in Santiago, proceed to Geoadventura Park and search for their next clue.
Some teams having trouble communicating with their cab driver because cab driver doesn't speak English. Sabrina goddess speaking Spanish to the cab driver. Simi & Ope's driver doesn't know where to go.
Matt & Nick first to RB clue. Racers will pair up professional paraglider, jump off side of mountain peak. When they reach the ground, they'll reunite with their partner and receive the next clue.
Dujean & Leilani 2nd. Nic & Sabrina 3rd. Brian & Cynthia - 4th. Cynthia doing the RB. Leilani doing the RB. She's afraid of heights.
Not sure which wrestler is doing the RB but he jumped off first.

Hamilton & Mich, Gino & Jesse, Neil & Kristen and Susan & Sharnjit arrive. Dana & Amanda and Brent & Sean lost. Simi & Ope lost as well.
Just kidding Brian is doing the RB, not Cynthia.
Matt first to land followed by Leilani. Nic & Sabrina 3rd lol. Proceed to the Outdoor Museum San Miguel.
Last 3 teams finally arriving at the RB. Sean (or Brent? idk): "OMG PRAY FOR US." omg lol.
Wrestlers first to next clue. Search the neighbourhood for 5 specific murals. Teams have to take a selfie in front of each one. Will be given a wooden case to the next location for the second half of this challenge.
Nick & Matt got the first selfie.

Brian & Cynthia - 3rd. Nic & Sabrina - 4th. Sabrina says this challenge is hard cause she can't run lol.

Hamilton & Mich 5th right now. Mich says they're constantly taking selfies when they travel. 1/5 selfies.
Brian & Cynthia say that taking selfies is hard for them because they're police officers so they're not trained in it LOL. 1/5 selfies.
Neil & Kristen - 1/5 selfies. Nic & Sabrina - 1/5.
Dujean & Leilani - 2/5. Dujean is telling her to pick it up. Leilani is telling him to not say that. Now she's just walking instead. Now they're arguing. Commercial.

We're back with Dujean & Leilani arguing. 3/5 selfies. Dujean says he's trying to motivate her but it's not working lol.
Few more teams arriving to the mural. Simmi & Ope 7th. Brent & Sean 8th. Gino & Jesse 9th. A bunch of dogs bark at Gino & Jesse. Dana & Amanda 10th. Susan & Sharnjit 11th.
Brian & Cynthia got all their selfies. Same with Ham & Mich. Ham & Mich finished the task first. Not sure what it says on the wooden case. Proceed to Recoleta Community Center. Wrestlers done 3rd.
Omg lol Sabrina suggests using a taxi to get them to each mural because she's slow. :funny: Gino & Jesse done in 4th wow.
Ham & Mich first to community center. Brian & Cynthia 2nd. Matt or Nick teach grade 6 and he's an art teacher!
With the help of children, translate colours and paint their section of the mural with the appropriate colours. After they're done their section, they wil present the the wooden case with art supplies to the kids. The completed mural will remain there after.
Dana & Amanda done selfies. Brent & Sean done. Neil & Kristin done in 7th. Dujean & Leilani done 8th. Nic & Sabrina done 9th. Simi & Ope done in 10th.
Ham & Mich's mural section is approved. They're talking about how sweet Victor (the child at the painting) is. They're both crying in their confessional lol. There's a choice. Do the detour or get the EP. To get the EP, proceed to Patio Bellavista and search for people doing a traditional dance. One EP for that team and another team has to be given EP before leg 4 (*or maybe it was end of leg 4 idk).
Ham & Mich, Brian & Cynthia and wrestlers all going for the EP. Few more teams arriving at painting.

Brian & Cynthia, Ham & Mich both looking for the dancers... And Ham & Mich are there first! They got the EPs! :hearts: Now detour time: Motion or Emotion.
Motion: Locate Plaza d what. Get into costume and perform a traditional Native dance.
Emotion: Locate the National Historic Library. Each learn a verse in Spanish of Valle de Chile.
Brian & Cynthia found out that the EP was taken. Wrestlers told the EP was already taken. Ham & Mich arrive at dance. The 2 other teams doing dance too. Hamilton is uncomfortable with the revealing outfits. Commercial.

Susan & Sharnjit arrive at painting in last. The child at the painting is about the same age as Susan or Sharnjit's child. She's getting emotional because her daughter asks her to paint often but she works 12 hour shifts. :(

Gino & Jesse want to switch detours but their taxi driver left. They told the driver to wait before they went into the librayr. Commercial.

Neil & Kristin not approved on their 3rd attempt. Dana & Amanda were both in cheerleading in high school. They're going for a 2nd attempt. They're done the detour in 4th.
Brian & Cynthia 2nd to pit stop. Wrestlers 3rd to the pit stop. There's a weird dog here that's following teams on their run to the mat I think lol.

Nic & Sabrina using their language skills to their advantage. They're doing the poetry detour. Dujean & Leilani and Simi & Ope arrive at dance. Brent & Sean going for 2nd attempt. Rejected.

Dana & Amanda dropped off at the bottom of the hill by their taxi driver... They have to run 2.5 km up the hill.
Nic & Sabrina going for a 1st attempt for the poem recital. They're done on their 1st attempt! Amazing! Done the detour in 5th.

Susan & Sharnjit are the last team to arrive and they've been eliminated from the race. NOOOOOOOOOOO. :( :( :( They hope that they made their kids proud. :'(

Another good episode! Jam pack with lots of task, which is good in my book!
Happy to see Gino and Jesse struggle a bit, its not fun when one team dominates the whole thing (yup looking at you season 2)!
As for the suprise Express pass (btw i love love love when you have to choose to go for the express pass or not) In my book you use the express pass for two reasons: to get first place, or to save your ass. Any other reasons is stupid. Yes its a bit early, but heh! they got tickets to India and 6 months of free gas... so thats that!!! The future will tell if it was the good choice.
Felt bad for Dana and Amanda that were supose to be 4th, but their (:;) taxi drop them too soon...

I agree, it was nice to see Gino & Jesse have a bad leg. It shows that they may not be as near-unbeatable as Natalie & Meaghan.
This leg totally changed the standings from last week.

Another great episode. When it first showed the Parachuting RB, I was getting TAR 23 Leg 1 vibes. :groan: But they quickly diverted away from that, with a great 2-Part ARI Task, and what seemed to be a rather hard detour on both sides. :yess: (Something we seem to be lacking in recent Seasons)
Ham & Mich winning the EP's was a massive surprise, but what the hell were they thinking burning it so soon. :groan: ???
I'd love to see the 2nd EP given to Simi & Ope - They were invisible this Leg. Probably because they were so far behind. :(
The only downside with the whole EP thing is there really should be some sort of task for it - The same way teams receive the FF. It would've made for an exciting 3 Way head-to-head for the EP, and there's the added risk of teams losing the EP battle, and severely hindering their placement. Sooooo much more entertainment doing it that way.
I still can't stand Gino & Jesse. I've never been able to root for the "stereotypical dominant boring model MM" team, because they bring nothing to the show. (I'm looking at you James & Tyler S10, Eric & Jeremy S9, Tyler & Nathan Oz S1, Etc..)
So seeing them struggle here was beautiful.... Just a serious pity Susan & Sharnjit didn't somehow stay ahead. :'(
Sabrina and her constant "I'm not fit enough" is starting to wear thin, but she's such a Goddess all the same. :funny: :hearts:

I still can't stand Gino & Jesse. I've never been able to root for the "stereotypical dominant boring model MM" team, because they bring nothing to the show. (I'm looking at you James & Tyler S10, Eric & Jeremy S9, Tyler & Nathan Oz S1, Etc..)
So seeing them struggle here was beautiful.... Just a serious pity Susan & Sharnjit didn't somehow stay ahead. :'(

What an action packed leg! Full from start to finish with different struggles and different celebrations. Really well rounded leg. Gotta say I love the cast overall, some of the best MM casting in the history of the race.
Love: Brian/Cynthia, Brent/Sean, Gino/Jessie, Nic/Sabrina & Nick/Matt.
Like: Simi/Ope, Dujean/Leilani & Hamilton/Michaelia.
Meh: Neil/Kristin & Dana/Amanda.

I've walked that exact same route, just in reverse. The moment they started walking my heart sank. Even going downhill it was killer (and I did it for the same reason - I didn't think it was that far), can't imagine doing it the other way.

I'm slowly catching up to this season but I must say Leg 2 might be my favorite Leg in Chile. Out of the ordinary locations and entertaining tasks that were challenging enough for the teams to struggle like the murals or time consuming like the painting.
I do not agree with the decision of going out of your way to pick up the EP and use it inmediatly after, the team didn't seem to try the other side of the detour but whatever, on the bright side they now have control on who uses the second EP.
I liked the poem detour but looks like the judges were not tough enough with the pronunciation of some words. The dancing one was out of place, if you are not going to Easter Island avoid that culture, that dance routine performed in the dirty streets of Santiago is just wrong.
I can't believe Dana&Amanda ran all the way up the hill. Good Job girls, good freaking job.
It was interesting to see the M/M team struggling on the back, their elimination could've been the biggest upset of the race.
This is shaping up to be a great season.
