It sucks thyough, that someone was eliminated AGAIN due to undercooked potatoes. This happened every season I think :lol: (Lee, Mark, and Samantha. It didn't happen in Season 4 lol but it brought people to the bottom 2 like Krissi)

I thought the eliminations during the cooking time was unfair but eh. I'm a huge fan of Elise, except there's not really anyone else to be a fan of so far... :lol: I don't like Leslie though.

I don't say I'm a fan of someone at this stage but I kind of like Dan, Francis L, Tyler, Courtney, Jaimee & Daniel.

I saw two episodes of last season on vacation last summer and got hooked, but never picked back up on the season when I got home. :P This will be the first time I watch it from the beginning, so I'm very excited. I like the format a lot more than Hell's Kitchen.

Yeah, every year I always watch preview to see spoilers. Like last year they spoiled top 5. This year they only spoiled top 17 for sure. Astrid, Gordon, Stephani, Whitney and Kira are the next to go. Wedding challenge is a bit difficult to analysis. How do you know that it is top 10 challenge? Victoria will make it far. I think she will make it to restaurant challenge and it should be around top 6.

I can't say that I'm a huge fan of Leslie yet, but if someone went after me the way that one woman went after him - criticizing him because he lives in Malibu (sin of sins) and that he "obviously has a wife who works" because he describes himself as a "stay at home dad" - well I am going to react, maybe even if Ramsay tels me to stop. The thing is that we rally don't know how good of a cook he is, and yet he's being called out as one of the weakest, and not belonging there. In MasterChef Canada there was a female cook who was constantly being called out as the weakest competitor. She finished in the top three because she really could cook.
(For the record Leslie Gilliams is married to Paula Hart with whom he has two children. He is also the step-father of Paula's five children from her first marriage including actress Melissa Joan Hart.)

Francis L. and Leslie had stunning donuts. :colors The judges made such a big deal about Courtney's donuts, even though I'm sure the salt was just a complete accident? I thought it was a little unwarranted.
Not really sure who Kira is, but none of the donuts seemed particularly terrible. Oh well I guess. It seemed like over half of the contestants didn't even get mentioned this episode... :funny:

This season, some people who got eliminate did not get any edit. Whitney, Kira. We really did not see any thing about them. And based on what was shown, I don't think Kira was deserved to go. They should edit make her elimination more convincing.

Next week, Ahran & Leslie will fight each other and Courtney definitely uses that fact to make the pair to kick out Ahran. But I think her plan will backfire.
Anyway, next week is team challenge. After that will be the normal episode with Mystery Box and Elimination Test. And then no team challenge but another normal episode. Maybe they change due to Gordan's medication quitting.
About last episode, I think they could keep Kira due to the fact that Gordon was ill and he had to quit the show.

I think the reason is not only because they hated Leslie because they did not help Jordan. I think they did not think Francis B deserved to be in that test. He is the one who helped red team to finish the services even he failed somewhere.

One question that has been making me curious is: "were the contestants ever got any recipe?"
I mean, recreating dishes that complex without any recipe, even you're a high skilled chef is pretty hard! I've been watching MasterChef Australia, and whenever they have to recreate a dish, they always given a recipe.
Also, I think the pressure tests from MasterChef US are pretty basic, compared to the pressure tests from MasterChef Australia with these extravagant and really complex dishes. :P

FRANCIS B.: Talented cook; not irritating.
ELISE: Very sweet, but barely has a presence on the show.
VICTORIA: Like Elise, except slightly less sweet.
DAN: Where did he go? Whatever. He got better when he was invisible anyways.
CHRISTINE: Her voice sounded foreign when she finally had her first confessional of the season (?).
WILLIE: Obvious winner is obvious. I hate obvious winners / people the audience is forced to like.
JAIMEE: I felt bad for her this episode, but she's being forced down our throats as the person to root for. I can never appreciate someone like that.
LESLIE: Thank goodness he did nothing this episode :D

Did anyone notice these patterns on the show? :umn:
1. If you're NOT being interviewed in the episode, you're safe for until the next episode.
2. If you're being interviewed (post-scene or by the judges) while in Mystery Box challenge, then you'll probably ended being in the top 3.
3. If you're highlighted from the beginning of the show, you'll probably will go far.
4. If you're highlighted in the specific episode (for example: many interviews shown) although in the previous episodes you're just "invisible", then something probably will happen to you (either win a challenge or eliminated).
5. In a team challenge, when it comes to deciding the menu, one team must have a smooth decision making (the team captain will decide the menu), and the other team will have struggle to decide the menu (the team members other than the captain will decide the menu).
I'll think of more patterns as I watch more episode. :lol:

I think both Jordan and Tyler had the first confession of the episode when they were eliminated. It's not true to Astrid, Whitney or Kira. Kira even do not any confession until she was eliminated, I think.

Seems to next week, not all of losing team members will cook but only three. Cutter, Leslie 100% in Pressure test. Dan may be in it, too because I see the long hair. I think Dan is going home.
Cutter is seen in Chocolate Truffles Pressure test challenge and get praise.
Ahran is next to Cutter in that challenge.
Willie is seen in Chicken Challenge when Gordon shows his skill.
Courtney is seen in Apple Mystery Box Challenge.
Also, we will see Salmon challenge (they must fillet it then cook, I think. I saw Gordon shows his skill and also Joe made a kind of picnic table to taste the dish). There is a challenge where we see a lot of chefs in Dinner room of Master Chef Kichen. There is a kind of team challenge in Stadium, I think but I don't remember from which video I've seen it.

Leslie should see himself why everyone hates him. Every time he is thrown down, he blames the others for hating him but never think it is his own mistake.

For individual: Cutter and Elise is the worst. They should go next.
They don't show much about Christine but this episode shows that she has a leadership and she can cook (many contestants think that so it must be something).
Leslie is good as individual but bad as a team player even if he is a leader or not. I wonder if it is not Daniel but Gordon who check the food, would he be pissed because of yelling for bad egg dishes.

I agree about Elise being weak, but at least she's a likable chef. Cutter is not only a horrible chef, he is a very very unlikable chef, and a bad likable chef is always better than a bad horrible chef.

Cutter is one of my least favorite RTV contestants of all time.
I can say he's better than Aaryn, Russell, Colton, Phillip, Rocky [Survivor Fiji], and Lex, but that's about it.

CHRISTIAN - Literally perfect. Sassy, real, and a good cook to boot.

FRANCIS L. - So sweet. While Elise's sweetness was fake as faux fur, Francis L. always seems real.
ELIZABETH - Spills the truth tea and hates most of the awful contestants <3
AHRAN - She's not as great as in her breakout episode, but she also spills the truth tea and is adorably hilarious with Leslie.
LESLIE - I used to hate him, but he's great when he's with Ahran. They have a great relationship, imo.
DANIEL - Cute, but hasn't done much. Likeable enough.
WILLIE - I kind of like him, but he's not all that interesting. Kind of boring tbh.
VICTORIA - Who?
JAIMEE - Kind of irritating, sorry. Not likable in the slightest. She's a gremlin.
COURTNEY - Compared to Courtney, though, Jaimee's the farthest thing from a gremlin. I want to punch Courtney every time she's on screen. She's an annoying, stuck-up child. She needs to fix her makeup too.
CUTTER - Self-explanatory. He's like Spencer B. x 1,000. Could potentially be a Bottom 10 RTV contestant. He's better than Phillip, Colton, Russell H., Rocky, Aaryn, Adam P., and Derrick L., but that's about it.

The pressure test could have been better... I liked the first round most. I like how they were only given 1 egg.
I was really scared for Jaimee. She was so close for the first two rounds and if she went home, that would have sucked. Me when Cutter was safe = :res:. I don't understand how he's still in the competition.

Because there's this Christina Tosi suddenly appeared as the judge substituting Joe. :res: Somehow I had enough hearing them said the term "in the world", because I clearly think that sometimes the "world" they meant is the USA.
Anyway, is someone here watching MasterChef Australia as well? Because that show format is the one I want to see happens on MasterChef US, and I think MasterChef Australia is the best version of MasterChef I ever watched.

I'm sort of watching. I'll put it on in the background while I'm doing other things. I just can't get into it enough this season to actually care. There's what 8? 9? people left and I still don't know half their names. Actually, I can't even remember the name of the new judge right now. Usually I just refer to her as the new girl.

The only contestant I cared for and liked so far (Cassie) was out first and I legit do not care nor bother to know any of the other chefs -_________-
This show has really taken a nosedive with Joe gone on Season 6.
Now, with Graham gone... it's like the show has lost its entire heart and soul.
Christina is ok but when she sucks she REALLY sucks as a judge. The only thing I liked Christina doing was calling out Christopher for his gross BS on Season 6 and that's it lol.
@Season 7: It's not even fun any more. It's just freaking depressing to watch.
I'll push myself to finish this season but I'm seriously considering stopping watching this entire FRANCHISE. Good lord.
