Title: Parks & Recreation
Post by: gamerfan09 on April 28, 2014, 03:48:22 AM
Does anybody watch Parks & Rec here?

I got the DVD Box Set of Seasons 1-5 on my birthday, and I recently decided to watch it all and I got hooked, I've finished the entirety of Seasons 1-6 in a month

Personally, I feel it's one of the best shows on TV.

*Literally* my favourite show.

I thought the season finale was amazing. I felt like it could have been a series finale. The writers are really good with sentimental episodes. Sounds like season 7 might be the last season, or it'll be nearing the end soon. I read a little bit about what might happen next season... Hopefully the writers get it right.

What impresses me about this show is how it still feels fresh even with all the casting changes. I won't ruin it, but two major characters left the show this year, and I barely even noticed that they were gone.

Favorite episodes are "Telethon" and "Flu Season".

"Leslie, I typed your symptoms into Google, and it says you might have Network Connectivity Problems." Best line of the whole series. :lol3:

OMG MUG, I LOVE THAT LINE SO MUCH. :funny:

I think one of my favourite clips is from The Comeback Kid at Leslie's ice rink campaign stop.

I might have gotten emotional in the episode where the two characters left... :-[ I thought that episode was worthy of a series finale too.

THIS so much. I won't say I won't miss
Show content
Rashida Jones (Ann) and Chris Lowe (Chris)
, but it is STILL a good show even though these two departed the show. I also agree with the casting being gold, even the supporting players (Jerry & Donna) are great too! I also find it amazing that they introduced Chris & Ben from the last two episodes of Season 2, and unlike other sitcoms introducing new characters, they just completely blended in well with the cast when Season 3 premiered, which says a LOT about this show's writing <3

My favourite Episodes have to be a lot from Season 2, mainly "Park Safety", "Greg Pikitis", and some mentions from the other seasons like "Indianapolis". But all the episodes are good, because the great thing about this show is, even though some episodes feel like they were written half-assed, it's STILL a great episode worth your time.

OMG next season will have a few sci-fi elements

Many are saying Season 7 will be the last.... I hope not.

Shows that end with odd numbered seasons usually have a horrible finale :/ (HIMYM is the most recent example for me)

It's official! Season 7 will be the last season of the show, AND it won't air in fall, but mid-season. :(

While I'm sad we might get only about 16 last episodes of Parks & Rec like Season 3, I'm incredibly excited to see it end. It's been one of the best TV comedies of the past decade, and I enjoyed almost every minute of it. From the show opening to "meh" (Season 1), beginning to stand on it's feet (Season 2), to being full on running great (Season 3), it's truely a phenomenal show, and I wish nothing but the best for the last season <3

That was adorable  <3

Their wedding is still one of my top 5 episodes. I noticed how almost all the show's season finales since Season 4 have been top tier episodes because they probably thought they were getting cancelled because almost each one had a nice callback to past episodes

Show content
I almost died laughing when Leslie saw Greg Pikitis in Season 6

Fans will have to wait until the final season actually airs to find out what really happens in the first episode. The first episode of Season 7 is entitled "2017," while the second is called "Ron & Jammy."

Another "Ron & Tammy" episode <3

What a great show. I am sad that Season 7 will be its last.
I hope that Chris, Ann, and Oliver appear!

Parks & Rec returns January 13!  :hearts: :hearts: :hearts:

The sucky thing is, NBC is TRYING to burn the show off so bad, two hour episodes every week until a one hour series finale after The Voice on Febuary 24 -______________-

Unreal...so upset with that, but I half wonder if Amy P. is kind of done with it, because the storylines have really pushed themselves.

They kind of got Community's six seasons wish :P (a Parks/Rec movie would be AMAZING.)

I don't think it's production's fault. (Parks/Rec movie plz <3)

It's NBC's fault for having crap scheduling for comedies. (I'm still REALLY mad about A to Z, they gave the Mother from How I Met Your Mother her own show, and they killed off the show faster than she did on HIMYM :res:. Marry Me and About a Boy are doing bad in ratings as well and might not make it to next year :/) It makes no sense, Parks is their HIGHEST rated comedy, why burn it off so fast? :res:

I can't wait, I'm excited to see how Parks & Rec is gonna pull a "Community" and go with meta-humor for the farewell season  :cmaslol

Come on January, come faster!  :xmas146

The final season burnoff premiere begins, and Parks and Rec is on a roll!

I can't believe I ever doubted this season would end up like How I Met Your Mother's final season, but based on the two episodes we got, it looks like Parks is gonna end with a bang! <33333

I usually don't approve of shows changing dynamics in their endgame (American Horror Story is the most prevalent every season), but Parks just 100% nailed it, it was so hard to even dislike it

Loved the Tammy II appearance. No season is complete without some sort of Tammy drama. Leslie's impersonation of her was on point.

That to be continued was totally ruined by having the next episode start immediately after... :stare

BUT THAT WAS AN AMAZING SECOND EPISODE. I LOVED IT SO MUCH. I almost cried... :funny: I think this will be one of the episodes I'll remember once Parks & Rec is over.

#TreatYoSelf returning <33333333

I'm loving the final season, it's been as good as Parks and Rec's Season 3-era!

Even though NBC is burning it off, at least we got to enjoy one last season

I'm prepared to cry my ass off at the finale TBH

Can we talk about how "Donna and Joe" was one of the funniest Parks and Rec episodes ever? <333333

I really lost it a lot of times, Parks and Rec has been firing on all cylinders this season, it's heartbreaking that it's only three weeks to go before it ends D:

I absolutely loathe Craig, but he has been so UTR earlier in the season, it was just amazing to see him back in full form <3

I loved the 867-5309 reference... :funny: Also loved how Jerry Larry Terry Garry's name is now the name people call him. :funny:

I'm really enjoying this last season because I feel like it's basically a season filled with all the things I love most about Parks and Recreation.

Omg such memorable Pawneeans in the second episode. Glad they were brought back. Loved April's character development in both episodes. Her asking Leslie about the job and the whole bark tree thing was so sweet! :hearts: Garry is finally getting some deserved recognition. Only had to wait until the last season. :funny:

Just finished watching the two recent episodes. OMG Parks <33333

The first hour REALLY felt like I was watching Community except with all the Parks and Rec characters we know and love, and I loved it! The fake commercials especially the Paunch Burger one was amazing  I also loved Ron being Duke Silver for what I assume will be the final time.

The second hour was really funny too, but it was pretty emotional, I nearly cried at the ending but then I burst out laughing. This pretty much summarizes the entire final season in a nutshell, and I'm so excited and depressed for the finale next week.

This series was as close to perfect as I've ever seen. It will go down as one of my all-time favorites. :) (Fun fact: I work at Amy Poehler's high school! :P)

@Mug, LOVED that part, my friend hadn't seen any of S6 yet so I texted her saying "THE THING I NEVER THOUGHT WOULD HAPPENED JUST HAPPENED AND IM SO HAPPY" hahaha.

Will miss Leslie, inspiration to everyone. Makes me love local govt!
