With the exciting news that TARaus 3 is confirmed for 2014, let the fun begin!
:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
But...NEW TWIST?? uh-oh
"The International Emmy Award-winning The Amazing Race Australia will return in 2014 with a surprising twist. Teams of two from all walks of life go head to head in this thrilling race around the world."
-
This twist could be anything
Maybe they are going to double the prize money to $500,000 AD?
-
Or random pairings?? :ascared

Or random pairings?? :ascared
Strangers would completely shock me :ascared I've thought a strangers pair would be a good try but imagine 11 teams :ascared
We have a good while to wait yet though unfortunately, but it's back and that's what matters :yess: :hearts:
-
Random pairings would ruin team chemistry though :(
-
Maybe they will force teams to switch players with each other
-
I would mind seeing it but only if it was 1 team.
-
Maybe they have a new form of penalty board instead of a Uturn ???
-
Aussies vs Kiwis by the sounds of it
-
Yep. TV Tonight's confirmed that the twist will be "Aussies vs. Kiwis".
-
TV Tonight quoted Mediaweek for that...can any of you find the original statement please?
-
Perhaps it's 1/2 Kiwi teams and not a 50/50 split per se. Also wasn't there a casting call for The Big Adventure earlier this month but there weren't any reports of that in the media upfront. Is that where people are thinking this casting call was to put together a team of strangers? Perhaps they still are and it is just going to be one big melting pot of different types of teams! Regardless I am over the moon that the race is back!
-
Well since there will be New Zealand teams I am pretty sure we can assume that NZ will be on this season (most likely for the finish line or the stop before the finish line )
-
The fact that TAR Aus is back is just amazing in itself <3 That twist is also kind to their neighbours :cheer:
-
Can't wait what "Disney" in-cooperation with Seven Network host this show...
It could be an amazing surprise of product to consume if they did all well ;)
-
Maybe Disneyland Paris could get a visit ???
-
With Disney involved, it could also add to the twist list on how they edit the end product, like make them more Theatrical with Dolby Surround sound system, more complex sound and visual effects and animation for the promos, and some other wonderful movie content as they might try to give a different experience in watching Reality TV Show.. in order to win another Int'l Emmy Award (what else could it be  )
:colors :colors

Not necessarily...NZ has great flight connections to Argentina and Chile. SL to South America, maybe?
-
I read somewhere, a race within a race. So... it seems it could be Aussies VS Kiwis to take the title within a larger amazing race?
Ok, sounds confusing. :funny:
-
Inception :stare But Amazing!
-
Don't like the Aussies vs Kiwis idea at all.
Every Australian reality show that decides to invite Kiwis has like a 90% Aussie, 10% Kiwi ratio. My Kitchen Rules had one Kiwi team out of 12 on Season 3. The current Beauty & The Geek Australia has like 1 or 2 Kiwis in it, I believe.
Definitely not expecting an even ratio at all. :/
-
I hag a theory for this "race within a race" theory.
What if there are 6 AU teams and 6 NZ teams. (I know that breaks tradition of the 9:1 ratio when this happened on MKR and B&TG). The last team remanning from their respective countries wins a small prize ($50,000) while the team that wins it all wins the usual $250,000.
I know it doesn't sound like the best of ideas but it was just a theory.
-
It would be nice in theory, TAR21. However, I don't see Channel Seven casting any more than 1-2 Kiwi teams. I would prefer even numbers if they are going to include New Zealand, but I don't see it happening. :/
-
They are going to have a very high standard to live up to...Active did a superb job. I wouldn't count on too much re the Disney thing...Disney has a part ownership of TAR also and I don't think we get any special theatrical/sound touches. :(
-
If they can even reach half the level of the previous 2 seasons it will still be fantastic! TAR Aus has done an unbelievable job at creating the race from outside the US :hrt:
-
Maybe "a race within a race" is like TAR21's theory, but only 3 or 4 NZ teams who have to race each other for a minor prize?
Given the massive difference in the size of casting pools between Australia and NZ, I don't think it will be a 50:50 split.

Yeah, nothing important.

Long, long shot. What if Canadians and Australians intersect at some point and work together?

I would love to see that and the probability of seeing that happen is greater then none (from what I heard they both are filming around Feb-March.
-
My mistake.
-
Interesting concept but highly unlikely - not too many people in Aus know that TAR Canada exists, and I assume the same would apply the other way round...
-
Looks like a cross over could be a possibility with taping for the Australian race moved to finish by early April! :D :cmastree
-
The Australian version of the show is IMHO the most successful and best franchise so far. So I'm honestly looking forward to ANY new twists that they are introducing to the show! <3

Since it's highly possible that TARA will have one leg in NZ, Phil Keoghan would be a greeter at the pit stop. He is a proud Newzealander a that is a logical choice.
