So Far no new countries >.> will this season have new countries at all?
Hopefully Nepal-Bhutan and/or Tibet...
-
Updated, thanks to ZouLy and his team!
-
Preliminary map until we hear more from ZouLy and his team!
Now you can add the Pit Stop location, Neobie! :cheer: :yess:

So Far no new countries >.> will this season have new countries at all?
Qatar looks to be a possibility from the info we have.
-
From the info ZouLy has compiled, we can possibly conclude:
1. Somewhere new in LA as the start line
2. At least one new country (Qatar)

As you can tell from the map, there is no new country. No one should conclude that there is.

In my opinion, I believe that Abu Dubai is not be confirmed as a location. From what I have read, Abu Dubai is speculated based on various possible flight routes to get from Vienna to Indonesia, IIRC that lead to Abu Dubai being a destination. I, personally have not lost hope in Qatar being a possibility, but I think RFF has concluded that Abu Dubai is more likely over Qatar. Anyone, please correct me if I am wrong. ;D

That's why I said 'possibly'. Nothing's for sure until the show airs.

Abu Dubai IS confirmed.
Abu Dhabi, is that just a connection point or is that an official leg there?
Have there been any double legs (legs in the same country) outside of Chile?
I tried to follow the timeline, but I am confused by all of this new info.
Thanks to everyone who has made this a fun race to watch live! :)
EDIT: I meant to post this in the speculation and discussion thread. Sorry!
:welcome: to RFF, headhunter! And locations is fine for any confirmed spots. :yess:
Yes, Abu Dhabi is a confirmed leg...it replaces our assumptions about Doha.
Double legs:
Chile: Iquique
Abu Dhabi (possible one or two, not yet confirmed)
Bandung

Hi!
I'm new here but I've read what you've written for previous season. This time I couldn't help registering when I saw Gdansk (Poland) on the spoiler map for 23rd season. Wish seeing it earlier 'cause I live nearby the airport and the city. Is that confirmed information? Do you have any info of where the teams may go in Gdansk? Id you have any photos or something else for confirmation I will happily do that ;)

Remember, back in TAR16 Maps thread (entitled MAPS! MAPS! MAPS!). Slowhatch posted on researching on Chilean maps of Iquique and Santiago.
If you need an address search, either the link (http://planos.amarillas.cl/) will click for an option (click Region I for Iquique and Region RM for Santiago). Unless, you can go to Google Maps when it's hard.
I'll post the rest soon.

Sorry I'll be quite inconsistent with the posting of maps this month!

I PM you Neobie. Hope you don't have the inbox full :)

Leg 5 maps of Gdansk, we pretty much had everything! (Except the Golden Gate, which was spoiled, but as a Pit Stop, so I wrote it off for a while...)

Question of style: Do you guys prefer the old, cleaner style of maps with less labels, or would you prefer me adding a layer of Google Map labels? The former has less clutter, the latter more information.
Example of a possible new style, compare against the post immediately above:
-
Love the last one. The more info the better.
-
I would also prefer the new style.
-
I like having the highway markers, those help. Lovely Neobie!!
-
Leg 6: Vienna. Thanks Boingo for identifying the chandelier location!
Updated with Pit Start.

Most of the Bandung locations:
Rancaekek train station (http://wikimapia.org/13873199/Stasiun-Rancaekek)
Cikandang village (http://wikimapia.org/12449596/Cikandang-RW-08-vilage) Not too sure about this one. The village is on the west side of town, Rancaekek is on the east, and Bandung
station in the middle. The point of traveling to Rancaekek (if there was a point) would be--I guess--to space out the teams with the train schedule.
Pasar Simpang Dago (http://wikimapia.org/1075644/Pasar-Simpang-Dago)--elephant food--was just a couple of blocks from...
Bandung Zoo (http://wikimapia.org/856260/Bandung-Zoo-Kebon-Binatang)
The bird market Pasar Sukahaji (http://wikimapia.org/6734311/id/Pasar-Sukahaji)
Saung Anklung Udjo (http://goo.gl/maps/myGHz)
Bosscha observatory (http://wikimapia.org/1940247/Bosscha-Observatory-Lembang)
I had no luck finding the "grand prix" bird arena.
-
I'm trying to find the "bird arena" too. There's a neighbourhood called Sumber Sari to the southwest of the city if you look on Wikimapia, but can you guys find the exact location?
-
Wrapping it up.
-
And a Google Earth file if you want to zoom in and be more precise. The only thing still baffling me this season is the "bird arena," I even found where in the desert they did the dune buggy...
