We've already had a thread about curses on TAR.
Here I'm wondering if there's any curse on SUR as well. Today I notice a post in Baidu Forum saying that people saved by HII never win. Is it true?

I'd say false. Parvati played one of her two HIIs on Sandra HvV, and Sandra won.
I don't know any Survivor curses, but would love to for the fun of it!

Survivors that wins cars on reward challenges never wins.
Example: Cindy from Survivor Guatemala. She won a car and was offered a chance to give it away.She refused and was voted out that episode.

Well in Sandra's case she was actually not saved by the HII because even without it she would not be eliminated in that episode. That post in Baidu Forum refers to the case when people would have been eliminated if they had not played the idol. For example, in S25 if Jonathan hadn't played the idol in "Not the Only Actor on This Island" episode, he'd have been eliminated (there were 5 votes going to him, while the eliminated contestant received 4 that night).

Only 5 people have been saved from a majority vote with the idol (Yau-Man, Amanda, Russell, Parvati, Penner) And from a tie vote (Tom, Jerri) My point is that having the HII barely guarantees anything and usually doesn't end up saving people.

And Rob played his HII at the Final 5. He didn't need it anyway, but it was the last time he could use it and he did. So the "curse" doesn't really apply.
I think the only curse for Survivor is the famous Car Curse, that's all.

And if your last name has a Hantz, you will most likely be hated by viewers and not win as well. :lol3:

Parvati had 4 votes. Tyson had 3. Russell had 2. Parvati was saved by the idol. :)

The idol curse excludes the case that the idol is flushed. Rob's idol was flushed actually.
The curse actually infers one thing: the idol can save you for a while, but cannot save you forever. If you set yourself into a situation that if you don't use the idol you'll be eliminated, then you'll never win.

Actually, unless you mean the F10 only in merge situations, Koror won immunity when there were 10 left in Palau, and Tom of Koror ended up winning.

I think a new (or old) curse should be mentioned that if you decide to throw a challenge, either you or your alliance member will be voted out.

Mike from S30 becomes the first sole survivor ever having successfully used an idol to save himself from the majority votes.
