Big Brother 15: longer season, earlier debut, new schedule

http://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/archives/big_brother_15/2013_Jan_12_schedule-changes (http://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/archives/big_brother_15/2013_Jan_12_schedule-changes)

Big Brother 15 will break from tradition and debut two weeks earlier than usual, on June 26 at 9 p.m. That gives the series “a longer edition this summer,” CBS said, and it will presumably end, as usual, in mid-September, when Survivor debuts.

CBS announced that this morning along with a new schedule for the show: It will now air Tuesdays at 9, Wednesdays at 9, and Sundays at 8. The Wednesday episode will be live evictions, and will move to 8 p.m. on July 17, following the conclusion of its version of he Great British Bake Off.

Big Brother received an early renewal for the series last fall; despite a drop-off in viewers year to year, it remains a success for the network.

Since they are adding two extra weeks to this coming season, I smell a larger cast and fingers crossed, a new house! I am tired of the same floor plan every year but with new decor. They need to demolish the house and re-built a new one.

LONG??  :groan: geesh!! More  hours for me I guess!  :iok

I agree with you Will hope they have a better house.. but not sure if it can be any bigger f a cast than last year. Hopefully more entertaining.

Big Brother 15: More House Guests Than Ever

Written by    Ed B.    MAY 1, 2013 in    Big Brother    with    0 Comments

With just a little over a month to go until we are all encapsulated in our summer addiction The Talk and Big Brother host Julie Chen hinted this morning that Big Brother 15 will have more house guests than ever.

“Big Brother is getting even bigger this summer, which means we need you,” Julie said. “We need more house guests than ever.”

Julie went on to remind all Big Brother addicts that we are getting a longer season, two extra weeks to be exact.  Now the question remains are we really going to see the house full with the most house-guests ever or are we going to see sixteen like we did in Big Brother seasons 9 and 14?

Julie also reminded viewers that it’s not too late to apply to become one of the Season 15 HGs.

Big Brother 15 is scheduled to premiere June 26. That’s just over a month away!  Have you started stocking your Big Brother cave with everything you will need to make it through the summer?

I was on the CBS last week and managed to take a peak around the outside of the Big Brother house, so here are few pics to tide you over.

Just 55 days to go until the premiere!

I'm predicting 18 houseguests! 9 guys and 9 girls. Three double evictions during the season.

OK I'll take a jab at it! :lol3:

I say teams yet again and one from each team will be evicted on the first live night and then be held up in sequester

then they can have up to 20 peeps one team to be an immediate have not so that's 5 peeps in the have not room leaving 14 people to sleep in regular beds and 1 HOH

So it's 4 teams of 5 and 4 going out the door  leaving 16 peeps  4 of which will be have nots by the end of the live eviction show :iok

What about if its a house of 12 and the game continues as normal (or so they think) because the twist is that there is a second house of another 12 and each house is unaware of the other house's existence until about week 3 or 4 when to 2 houses are merged.

It would certainly go with the construction Ugot's friend heard passing by the house.
Well then I wasn't far off the mark with my 2 houses twist.

According to a poster on twitter who correctly announced the twist from last year (coaches) he believes this season will take a page out of Survivor 27. It will likely be houseguests against their families.

That's a bummer. I was looking forward to Survivor with this twist. If BB's doing this same thing, I might cry.

I genuinely hope not. :( Why would CBS use the same twist in consecutive reality shows? Heck, the past few years, the Big Brother finale and Survivor premiere have been on the same night!

There is ZERO confirmation that the Big brother House will be in HD.

The person(s) who reported it got it from the rumor mill. NO other reliable sources have confirmed the  HD Cams being installed.

NOW, for CBS to put in  HD cams they have to upgrade all of the TV,monitors etc.. that they use. Even on the editing  side from Endemol and Fly on the wall. That's a lot of equipment and money spent  on man hours.  Is it possible YES.. is it something we definitely know.. NO.. and we won't know FOR SURE until Media day which should be around JUNE 10th Unless they release information soon. :iok

Not sure how anyone can put out information on how much the feeds will cost since no one credible aka an affiliate has received an email from anyone at CBS.

As far as a $15.00 price, Superpass charged $14.99 per month unless you got the early bird special.

So is this rumor of $15 per month or "in total" for the whole season?  If it's total for the whole season then I wouldnt expect too much from their end on the "live" feeds.  and expect it to be just like BBCANADA

Tick Tock we're all waiting on ANY news :lol3:

BBcanada feeds were shut down aka fishies for us for hours on end. no reasons to be giving i.e. POV comp have not comp.. they  just shut it down and held that content for their aired shows.    the less we pay for the less actual feeds that we are use to that we will get.

Just saw some promos for BB15 last week and looks like they changed the Wednesday, June 26th premiere time from 9:00PM to 8:00PMAlso read something somewhere that subsequent Wednesday shows will continue to be show at 8PM, but haven't been able to confirm that yet.   Sounds like they are still making tweaks to the schedule as we speak.

:ascared  If the latest "TV Listings" on tvguide.com can be believed, it appears that the 8:00PM Wednesday airing of BB15 will remain in place, as "The American Baking Competition" moves to 9:00PM and stays there after the 26th.

soooo... AFAIK, the BB15 viewing schedule is Sunday 8:00PM, Tuesday 9:00PM, and Wednesday 8:00PM, starting June 26th, till further notice.   ;)

BREAKING NEWS: NEW SEASON TWISTS REVEALED!

June 19, 2013

“BIG BROTHER” INTRODUCES TWO NEW TWISTS FOR THIS SUMMER’S EDITION WHICH PREMIERES JUNE 26 ON CBS

For the First Time, Three Houseguests will Find Themselves Nominated for Eviction

Viewers to Play an Influential Role in the Game of BIG BROTHER This Summer by Voting for the “Big Brother MVP”

BIG BROTHER Returns with a Stylish Mid-Century Modern Chic Design and a New “Live Show” Set

BIG BROTHER will unleash two new twists into the stylish, redesigned house this summer that will influence the strategic landscape of the game when it premieres on Wednesday, June 26 (8:00-9:00PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.  Julie Chen is the host.

The first twist is a series’ first: instead of two Houseguests being nominated each week for eviction, as in past seasons, contestants will nominate three in this summer’s edition. This process will be further explained during the season premiere.

The second twist will allow BIG BROTHER viewers to play a crucial role in the game by casting votes for the Houseguest they feel is playing the best game.  The Houseguest who receives the most votes will be anointed that week’s, “Big Brother MVP.”  The full scope of the MVP’s secret power will be revealed during the season premiere.

America will start casting their votes for this season’s first “Big Brother MVP” before the Houseguests even enter the game, beginning with a pre-premiere vote starting Thursday, June 20, following CBS’s cast announcement of the new Houseguests.  Fans can visit http://www.cbs.com/bbmvp to cast their vote.

“The Big Brother MVP will force the houseguests to rethink their strategies.  With America rewarding good game play, it doesn't pay to be a floater this summer,” said Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan, Executive Producers of BIG BROTHER.

This season, the Houseguests will enjoy a stylish BIG BROTHER house with mid-century modern chic décor. The living room features a stacked stone fireplace filled with concrete balls and LED lighting and an eight foot brass starburst; the redesigned kitchen sits below a giant gold world map; the plush, spa-like bathroom is lined with cedar wood; and the bedrooms include an architect’s studio vibe and a crayon-colored room featuring Los Angeles landmarks.

The Head of Household suite is entirely black and white, including an aquarium of Koi flown in from Asia to bring good fortune.

The mid-century style of the BIG BROTHER house continues on host Julie Chen’s newly remodeled set.  The multi-story front of the house features a new high-gloss stage, a lighted runway and a massive 103 inch plasma screen, as well as several other screens, for Julie to monitor and communicate with the Houseguests.

Following the premiere on Wednesday, June 26 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), BIG BROTHER will be broadcast three nights weekly – Sundays (8:00 - 9:00 PM, ET/PT, beginning June 30), Tuesdays  (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT, beginning July 2) and the LIVE eviction show hosted by Julie Chen will be broadcast on Wednesdays (8:00-9:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT, beginning July 3).

BIG BROTHER follows a group of people living together in a house outfitted with 65 cameras and 98 microphones recording their every move, 24 hours a day.  Each week, the Houseguests will vote someone out of the house.  At the end, the last remaining House Guest will receive the grand prize of $500,000.

BIG BROTHER is executive produced by Emmy Award-winning producer Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan for Fly on the Wall Entertainment, in association with Endemol U.S.A.

I think it will move around too.  Look like a perfect comp for a female to win  :cheer:  Didn't Rachel win something similar in her first season?
