Thanks to 收视率研究专家 (Prof. on TV Ratings), a user in Baidu Postbar, who is supposed to be an employee of CSM, the company that kicked Nielsen out of China years ago.
We have only ratings/share data for the present (and I think it refers to households population). (收视率研究专家 has confirmed this.)
Airing Date Airing Time(GMT+8) Name Episode Ratings/Share
Aug 7 14:10 TAR: China Rush S2 1 0.12/0.93
Aug 14 14:10 TAR: China Rush S2 2 0.07/0.57
Comparison with other reality shows on Dragon TV: (English names are from my poor translations. Sorry that I don’t know their formal English names…)
Airing Date Airing Time(GMT+8) Name Ratings/Share Genre
Aug 8 23:00 Eastern Live 0.43/1.25 News+Survey+Debate
Aug 9 21:20 Happy Cube 0.40/1.18 Talk Show (Originality derived from Lie to Me)
Aug 10 22:00 Beauty Academy 0.15/0.55 Reality Competition (About Dressing)
Aug 11 21:10 Who Can Choose One From 100? 0.79/2.37 Dating Reality Show
Aug 12 21:05 Choose One From 100 0.89/2.48 Dating Reality Show
Aug 13 21:10 Sing From My Heart 0.42/1.20 Reality
Aug 14 19:30 Dancing Gala 0.97/2.7 Reality. Similar to Dancing With The Stars
PS:
1) Sing From My Heart is not a competition show. Contestants sing to the people they love, are grateful to, or feel regret for, to express their deepest feelings.
2) Dancing Gala once created a record with incredible ratings at 15.9.

Not only is your English good it is WAY better than my Chinese ;)

 Hope that's flattery:)
During the last week (Aug 8-Aug 14), the top ratings program was Opening Ceremony of International Universities' Games in Shenzhen. 7 channels broadcast it, with total ratings/share at 6.48/17.72.
Pertaining to ratings/share on TV dramas, the top ratings program during Aug 12 to Aug 14 was New Princess Pearl: Gone with the Wind on Hunan TV with the data 1.69/7.04, followed by Boy Scout Volunteer Group on CCTV-1 with the data 1.73/4.48.
I personally think the ratings of a show over 1 could be considered "very good."

Wonder if they count all of us linking in??

ICS-China Rush replied to me on Weibo.com (a website similar to twitter), after I told them the bad ratings on Dragon TV.
ICS: "Be optimistic! It means we can still make great progress in future. BTW, you watched it, we watched it, but there's no set meter in my room, and what about your room?"
I: "Neither..." :lol3:
-
I like the ICS version better, for obvious language reasons.
I love being able to watch Shanghai TV though, if I was a better person I would try the Mandarin lessons!!
-
The ratings don't look good compared to the other shows, but how is China Rush doing on Dragon TV with respect to its afternoon time slot. All of the other shows are in prime time.
-
Agree! Bad setting of timeslot this time...
Just consider what the young would do during that timeslot -- 2pm. Either going out with friends, or sleeping at home. In most cases this timeslot is for show reruns.
We don't know the timeslot ranking yet, but according to data from some Chinese fans, the best ratings they've ever seen in that timeslot on Dragon TV were about 0.2.
-
I asked 收视率研究专家 about the nationwide timeslot ranking of TAR:CR2 this afternoon.
"No way," said he. "Share was less than 1%, and its ranking would be definitely not in the top 20 programs in that timeslot nationwide." :'(
-
The bad thing about the ratings is that it dropped ~40% from week 1 to week 2.
Can anyone in China with a TV and an antenna receive Dragon TV, or is it a cable or satellite station that you have to pay for?

Everyone in China with a TV can receive Dragon TV. It's free.
This channel broadcasts nationwide, just like CCTV in China, or NBC/ABC/CBS in America.
But ICS can only be received by people living in Shanghai. So no doubt the ratings/share data of China Rush on ICS is 0/0 for each episode.
-
Ratings/Share for Episode 3 on Dragon TV (nationwide):
0.08 0.07/0.57 Modified by Prof. on Ratings in Baidu
Ratings for Episode 3 on ICS (in Shanghai only): 0.1
Ratings rose a little.

Except they have one of the best streaming vids I have ever seen. I get ICS better than I can CBS most weeks and I am NO where near Shanghai!!
I hope this is well publicized in China...I know it dioesn't help ratings but it is a wonderful thing.

Really? I can hardly watch ICS online here in China... Watch for 5 seconds and then wait for 10 seconds for buffering... We fans here are protesting
I haven't taken a notice of ads for China Rush 2 on Dragon TV... Some fans in Baidu Postbar say that Dragon TV didn't take this show seriously initially, but there have been more ads after the premiere. Besides, EP2 seemed more exciting than EP1, which could also account for the better ratings on EP3.
Chinese fans predict lower ratings for the following episode because many Chinese people didn't seem to enjoy EP3. They think this episode showed something dark in one's personality. :lol3:
Anyway, since it's ICS not Dragon TV that holds the copyright, I don't think ratings on Dragon TV means a lot for renewal :)
-
Plus, 0.1 could be seen as "quite good" ratings for ICS in Shanghai.
-
Sorry for not uploading ratings data of recent episodes. Data is missing.
EP11 ratings
ICS 0.2 Dragon TV 0.6
Tragedy!
Wonderful jump!

Dragon TV aired EP11?Didn't they delay a week?(I am watching ICS since EP9,so I'm not sure about this).
-
The 0.6 is a big jump from the 0.12 that episode 1 got.

No. I think Jinguan on Weibo.com referred to EP10 on Dragon TV and EP11 on ICS.
The 0.6 is a big jump from the 0.12 that episode 1 got.
You're right, it's a big jump. Five times as high as the premiere on Dragon TV.
I ridiculously misread the rating data yesterday... :groan: I thought it was 0.02 and 0.06, therefore I stupidly regarded it as a tragedy.
It must be that my math is as good as Lily's... 25+15=30.

I don't know if this is the right place, but could anybody PM me a link to watch CR2 with English subtitles? I can only find the Chinese version.
-
Do not post links here please, use PM. I'll look Dan.
