Similarly, if your team is last in leg 1, you'll definitely not get the $1 million in the end. :umn:

What do you mean by "biggest spell"? ???
They also say that if you're a parent-child team you won't win. Is that true? :umn: :duno:
:colealert:
I must say that this pattern does hold true for every season of TAR US and TAR Asia.

AVADA KEDAVRA!!!
AVADA KEDAVRA!!!
:faint:
AVADA KEDAVRA!!!
:faint:
What is that?!?
Well, sure. But nobody who's finished last in Leg 2 has been saved by a NEL, either.
OMG GUESS WHAT! If you come in first the last leg, you will win!
OMG GUESS WHAT! If you come in first the last leg, you will win!
:lol3: :neener:
Any team that has survived the U-Turn has made it to the Final 3.
The last season that had leg 1 "REAL" NEL was TAR 15. How recent is that?
Story of the season usually finishes in 2nd (Season 9, 13, 17) or 3rd Place (Season 8, 10 11, 12, 14, 15, 16) but never first (only exception was Season 17 with the first all-girl team to win.Add season 7 to the group of Story of the season finishing in 2nd

Have you ever noticed that if you're second or third in the last leg, you won't win? :o
How about if there are two Fast Forwards in a season, the winner of the second usually wins the Race?
Also when there is only one available FF the user wins the Race.

Is your second spell referring to the leg or the whole race?
Richard & Joey were eliminated
Richard and Joey's was counteracted by the most powerful spell, the third led winner. There must be a hierarchy. My mind was just blown.
Back in the days of the Yield, the Yieldee usually checked in before the Yielder. Is that a spell?Although Colin & Christie broke that spell when they arrived last at the pit stop, and I think Freddy & Kendra also managed to check in to the pit stop before Adam & Rebecca, who they yielded :)

Also Nicolas & Donald didn't win TAR12. TK & Rachel did.
But Nicolas & Donald took the second one, so they broke the spell of the winner of the second FF winning the raceHow about if there are two Fast Forwards in a season, the winner of the second usually wins the Race?

There was another FF available that year.
I think the biggest spell and the only one spell that existed on all TAR versions is that if a team is eliminated and never to have the chance to be called back to all-stars, the team will never win The Amazing Race.
Expedition Impossible broke the Episode 3 Curse to some extent.
I think the biggest spell and the only one spell that existed on all TAR versions is that if a team is eliminated and never to have the chance to be called back to all-stars, the team will never win The Amazing Race.
Shanghai Rush had a special comeback episode to call back a eliminated team (Alice & Richard) into the race, which could be seen as a super-Fast-Forward. This team won in the finale, so the spell you mentioned have been broken.

The odd thing is that out of the three teams that have won the most legs in a season on TAR (Nick and Starr, Meghan and Cheyne, Eric and Jeremy) two of them did not win leg 3 and won the race while the other won leg 3 but not the race.
Yes, it's another spell.
And spell comes again: Any team that gets the Express Pass is to be Team No.3 in the finale!

Richard & Joey were eliminated
Here are some fun facts for you all!
No team finishing 5th, 7th or 10th in the first leg has ever won the race, so bad news for Amani & Marcus, Andy & Tommy and Liz & Marie!
Of all the winners of Leg 3, only 5 of them have made the final three (and all 5 of them came second).
Teams that finished fifth in Leg 1, 3 or 5 have never won.
Yes, it's another spell.
And spell comes again: Any team that gets the Express Pass is to be Team No.3 in the finale!
sam and renae tar aus 1 came 1st leg 1 and 2nd last leg (in home city perth)
In the two all-stars (some you may already know):
- first place teams did not win any other legs
- second place teams were fourth place teams in their original season
- third place teams were sixth place teams in their original season
- only one team in both seasons arrived at the same place of their original season
- a team can't be in the final 3 twice
- four teams in each seasons never went in the final three
- sixth, seventh, & eighth place are hold by final 3 teams
Here's one for you:The international teams with 5 or more wins:
The only team to win 5 out of the first 7 legs are...
Andy & Tommy (S19)!
Nick & Starr (S13) and Eric & Jeremy (S9) won 4 of the first 7.
Most First Places in one season:
7- Meghan & Cheyne (S15)
7- Nick & Starr (S13)
6- Colin & Christie (S5)
5- Andy & Tommy (S19) (with 5 legs still to go)
5- Nat & Kat (S17)
5- Tammy & Victor (S14)
5- Eric & Jeremy (S9)
5- BJ & Tyler (S9)
5 - Rob & Brennan (S1)
Surprised no one has posted the 'If you use your Express Pass, you won't come first curse'
In the US TAR, teams that are saved by a NEL/TBC at the first leg gets eliminated in 6th place (Maria & Tiffany and Jet & Cord). Lets just hope that Bill & Cathi break that spell!!!
It keeps happening!
One thing to keep in mind. The "home field" curse. For Anami and Marcus, Atlanta is essentially a home field since their current residence is not far down the Interstate from metro Atlanta, and they'd get the Atlanta TV stations at home.
Teams making the final three with a home field advantage IIRC have never won TAR. Season 1 (Frank and Margarita in New York), season 2 (Tara and Wil in San Francisco), season 5 (Colin and Christie in Dallas) come immediately to mind, and that's enough to show my point.

TS mentioned this over in the Episode 12 topic. Is there any evidence to disprove it?
Two words:
Car Curse
And spell comes again: Any team that gets the Express Pass is to be Team No.3 in the finale!
EP3 Curse works again! :cmas16
EP3 Curse works again! :cmas16
If I'm ever on TAR, I am deliberately going to let someone pass me on Leg 3! :cmaslol
Is there some sort of 'Birthday Curse'? :cmas5 Teams tend to do really poorly when one/both of them has their birthday:
For instance, Derek & Drew were eliminated on their birthday on TAR3.
Nathan & Jennifer were eliminated on Jennifer's birthday on TAR12.
And Nick & Starr had their worst leg (Leg 9) on Nick's birthday, in which they had heaps of taxi troubles.
But Flight Time broke this curse, because I believe he and Big Easy won Leg 8 on Flight Time's birthday on TAR15.
Are there any other interesting facts regarding birthdays? :cmas5
Pardon my ignorance, but what is the Episode 3 curse? :xmas146
Pardon my ignorance, but what is the Episode 3 curse? :xmas146
I didn't know this either, until very recently - but every team who has won on Leg 3 of any version of the race has never won the whole race. :cmas16

Very interesting! :cmas22 Thank you racer! :cmas9
No team finishing 5th, 7th or 10th in the first leg has ever won the race
Dave & Cherie will NOT win TAR20 since Cherie said the first episode's title quote
Seems that no team that came from other reality shows won the race. ;)And only one reality crossover team has made the final 3...all the others have gotten eliminated before the halfway point. I'm actually hoping that Brenchel will join that curse, because I really can't stand either one
Possible one:
If they place first on a Russian leg, they will make it to final 3, or come in last the next leg.
TAR 5: Chip and Kim - Final 3
TAR 9: Eric and Jeremy - Final 3
TAR 13: Tony and Dallas - Eliminated next leg, Nick and Starr - Final 3
TAR 14: Jodi and Christie - last next leg, Margie and Luke - Final 3
TAR 17: Jill and Thomas/Nat and Kat - both Final 3
And I also noticed a couple of days ago that no team has ever won Leg 3 and finished the race in 3rd place - although this pattern would not hold true if we took International Versions of TAR into consideration. :tup:We'll see whether or not it'll work in the current season.
How about if there are two Fast Forwards in a season, the winner of the second usually wins the Race?
Also when there is only one available FF the user wins the Race.
Yes please! :hearts:
ETA: I looked into it and this is actually true. The only exception is in TAR11 (the exception season) when odd circumstances allowed one team to take a FF twice. So, if there are two fast forwards used by two teams then the winner of the second one has always won the race.

Ep 3 curse works again :hearts:
don't know if this is has been posted, but if a team comes 5TH in LEG 5, they will not win the race (this is the case in all editions of TAR)I don't think it's been posted. Another curse!
I dont know if this is a curse but it suits more with the "have you guys noticed...": there hasnt ever been a Phil on any season. I feel like the host doesnt want anyone with his name on the show ???
Tyler always wins. That's odd.If we had a NEL/TBC legs with 9 teams remaining, it would be win by same gender of blind dating teams!
