Bb, your guess is as good as any. :waves: I just hope that Sanjaya goes next week, generally the final 10 tour. The sound man would need to work overtime. OTOH, I suppose the little kids would love him.

There are a lot of people saying that Sanjaya was in the bottom 3 because the producers decided to put him there. However usually when someone ends up in the bottom three their fans vote even harder. I don't think the producers are that stupid. However he could be this year's Nikki McKibbin. I still think he will leave 10th, however if I go to see the tour I will be going to get a beer during his set or I will have already had a lot of beers because then it won't be as painful.

I really don't think Melinda or Lakisha will win. I think one of them will leave at 5 or 6 for the shock factor. Also the fact that they are probably splitting votes doesn't help them either. I think this is the hardest season to predict by far of all of them.

You could be right about the two ladies, you just never know with AI. However I do think both will do just fine, possibly better if they don't win.

My problem is with both of them not that they aren't great singers cause they both are but they are generic. Let's look at the success of past Idols. Only one has been a true pop artist Kelly Clarkson, Carrie does country, Chris does rock, probably the three most successful. Look at how the RnB singers have done Ruben has bombed and Fantasia career has slowly disappeared and now she has moved to Broadway. There are tons of other artists out there just like Melinda and Lakisha and for that reason too much competition to sell CDs. Kelly broke the mold of pop music, Carrie has become the biggest thing in country and Chris is the biggest thing in rock right now. There is never going to be another Whitney or Mariah so I really find it pointless to push these two girls.

I never could understand Reuben's appeal. I know he sang well, but his first album was horrible. (Unfortunately I bought it!) I loved Fantasia, what happened to her!
Right now, I want to know how many of the better singers will be dumped so Sanj can still be in the competition! (:;) :knuckles: (:;)

Now if we had a country singer I'd be in heaven. Gina is growing on me as well as Jordin. The rest of the girls bore me even if they sing well I don't care!

I see that VFW has Phil up now. It could cause Chris R to go home a week or so earlier. I can't see LaKisha losing to Phil, unless he has another good song pick and he hasn't been all that consistent even though he did have a good week with country as the genre.

I have no clue who goes next, it could be LaKisha or Chris. Most important will be whoever Simon gives the KOD comments. He's been pretty hard on LaKisha, and while I like her a lot she's been unexciting or put another way, nearly dead as a performer. She has no joy or fun with the songs. At least it seems that way to me.

I agree with you TL. For some reason, LaKisha doesn't look like she is having fun when she sings. ???
A few posts ago, I predicted that Blake would beat Melinda in the end, mostly because he has the 'image' edge over her.
However, thinking back to last season, Taylor Hicks looked like anything but an "American Idol". If for no other reason, I can definitely see Melinda winning the whole thing for her singing ablility and humble personality alone!!! :hearts:

I believe Jordan, Blake and Melinda will be the top three after thinking over the other contestants left. LaKisha has been in the bottom 3 several times and that doesn't bode well for her. I'm sure she will get offers though so in a way she has already done well for herself.
Blake reminds me of Chris Daughtry, because he has his own style and charisma, he does his own thing but can adapt and sing the theme of the week songs. That makes him marketable and he will have a career in music for sure.
I would love for Melinda to win though. I've been impressed with her since her audition. :tup:
