The Apprentice LA Spoiler
« on: June 26, 2006, 09:40:36 AM »
Don't read further if you don't want to know one of the tasks next season.

Spoiler Ahead

Apprentice 6 candidates reportedly performed halftime infomercial at LA Galaxy game

The Los Angeles-set Apprentice 6 is now taping in LA, and an early report suggests they’re not doing much to hide their presence.

At the Los Angeles Galaxy major league soccer game Saturday night, fans were treated to a halftime show apparently presented by the candidates. The show was reportedly sponsored by GNC, and each of the two teams had to present a brief halftime show that was, naturally, a commercial for the sponsor.

It was not well received. One poster on the BigSoccer forum wrote, “That was a new low for the franchise. Anyone else disgusted by that?” Fans in attendance report such poor audience reaction that some audience members apparently refused to vote for a “winner.” sportsfan-quakes gives the details:

“GNC had two ‘Skits’ which were shown on the field, each lasted about 4-5 minutes. The first one was supposed to show ‘Joe Normal’ guy in a boxing or wrestling rink, running out of energy to fight, and then he gets some kind of help from GNC supplements and all of a sudden he wins his match. Whoever the announcer was had to try to get the fans to chant ‘Go GNC’ or something like that. We thought that was pretty bad, but then they brought out a second skit.

This one had people in outfits that were like GNC supplement bottles, and they had an obstacle course that was supposed to show how the GNC supplements could help you go faster or something. Then there was a point where the people/supplements were running through a blocked artery or something. But the worst part of the second skit was that the two girls/women who were announcing had the most earsplitting, shrieky voices you can imagine. It was sheer torture just listening to them.

Then, at the end the fans were supposed to hold up a colored card to indicate which team/skit was better. Everyone was so disgusted that they didn’t vote. So if this was a contest for the Apprentice, they’ll have to do some really creative editing to show any of it and not make everyone look like fools (unless that was the intent).”
Because sometimes the way to feel good about yourself is by making someone else feel bad. I am tired of making others feel good about themselves.

I will post this here to keep all spoilers in one place!!!

I found it over at TWoP ......

Just found this on YouTube:

Last June, a group of people on a trip from LA to Ohio filmed a video of the first leg of their task that they actually added to YouTube last June 30. What is significant about this video is that they are on a tour bus and that James and Stefani are the guides, with Ivanka also showing up.

Good find, Wallyhorse. This must be the third task: here's the blurb from NBCUMV.COM, which I haven't seen posted so far:
THE APPRENTICE: LOS ANGELES --(9:00PM-10:00PM) --(TV-PG L)

"Episode No.603"

CONTESTANTS CREATE HOLLYWOOD SIGHTSEEING TOURS -- Last week's losers do battle against each other as the winners get a week of rest and relaxation. The moguls-in-training devise a new twist on the Hollywood sightseeing tour, and the tours themselves are the strangest sights of all. The winners get bragging rights; the losers see a teammate go in a shocking finish.

An important detail: the winning team from the second task gets to skip the third task, so this would mean another loss by, what is the name? Arrow Corp?

ETA: Another description of the second task, also from NBCUMV.COM:
"Episode No.602"
CONTESTANTS DIVE INTO SWIMSUIT COMPETITION -- The candidates dive into the world of swimsuit design, creating new lines for a beach fashion show. One team struggles with a runaway designer while the other argues over the finer points of a bikini. The winners enjoy the playboy lifestyle with special guest Hugh Hefner while the losers face Donald in the boardroom

That doesn't make much sense -- why allow the winning team a pass when the other team is already down two people? Trump wants the losing team automatically down by three people? The winners win and then still have to go back to the tent, since the entire old winning team still has the beds in the mansion? What a raw deal. Gerrymandering.

Well:

We now know then if the sightseeing bus is task three, and the winning team in task two is off, then Heidi's team wins the second task, and we also know that James and Stefani are NOT fired after task two.

ETA ..... Someone at SUCKS says that Aaron is also seen in the sightseeing bus clip, so it looks like he also survives the episode 2 boardroom!!!

Another one found at TWoP.....

One more update: according to a press release on the El Pollo Loco website, the task they're sponsoring is scheduled to air on January 28th, making it the fourth task. From the press release:

El Pollo Loco will be featured on episode four of the highly-anticipated sixth season, The Apprentice: Los Angeles. Set to air on Sunday, January 28, 2007 from 9:00 – 10:00 p.m. PT/ET, the segment will feature two teams of ambitious contestants as they roll up their sleeves at two Los Angeles-area El Pollo Loco restaurants. Trying not to ruffle the feathers of fellow team members, contestants test their culinary aptitude as they create, market and sell their own version of El Pollo Loco’s signature Pollo Bowl®. El Pollo Loco’s Original Pollo Bowl®, a longtime customer favorite, combines plenty of the chain’s famous citrus-marinated, flame-grilled chicken breast with pinto beans, rice, cilantro, onion and Pico de Gallo.

To provide El Pollo Loco fans their own apprentice opportunity, beginning January 28 and continuing through February 11, the chain will host a mock online version of The Apprentice:

Los Angeles task with an enter-to-win “Create Your Own Pollo Bowl®” contest on the El Pollo Loco website at www.elpolloloco.com. All who enter will receive a coupon toward their next purchase of the Original Pollo Bowl® at any of El Pollo Loco’s 359 locations nationwide. The winner will receive tickets to The Apprentice: Los Angeles live season

Another one from CheekyCricket:

Another date pinned down: the Sue Bee Honey episode will air on February 11th SiouxCityJournal.com: 'Apprentice' to Feature Sue Bee Honey. No information about the task itself, except that it's supposed to be "really funny," according to the producers.

So, now we have a bit more:
1/7 1st task: car wash, sponsor unknown
1/14 2nd task, swimsuit design, sponsored by Trina Turk
1/21 3rd task, sightseeing tour ("Rich and Famous" was on the banner), sponsor unknown
1/28 4th task, Pollo Bowl task, sponsored by El Pollo Loco
2/4 5th task, ???
2/11 6th task, sponsored by Sue Bee Honey

Then, ????

Next week's task is the sightseeing tours. Team Kinetic won exemption. Early spoiling has shown James, Stefani, and Aaron on one of the buses.

Could it be that the competition will be "within" Team Arrow? I surmise that sub-teams will be .......

Team 1
James
Stefani
Aaron

Team 2
Frank
Tim
Nicole
Michelle

Aha, so that's how it's gonna work.  Thanks Tanny!  ;D  Interesting twist.  I hope it's not all gonna catch up with Team Kinetic, but afraid it will.  Since Kinetic is my favorite team so far, I'd love to see them keep winning, and I'm rooting for Heidi...unless she does something extremely stupid!

We know that only the seven Arrow team members will be competing against each other. With the likelihood that they will be spilt into two teams, then they will most likely have two PMs.

We know that Frank and Nicole have already been PMs. That leaves two of the other five Arrow team members being PMs this task. 40% is pretty good odds!!! And with what looks like Frank, Nicole, Tim, and Michelle on the same team, your odds go up to 50/50 of being right.

Here is the NBC press release .......

Putting on a VIP event for a high-end luxury car is this week's task for the candidates of NBC's "The Apprentice: Los Angeles," airing Sunday, March 4 at the series' new timeslot of 10-11 p.m. ET. While the winners get to spend an evening recording a song with Snoop Dogg, the losing team is shocked to see two of their teammates fired in an explosive boardroom finale.

The "Apprentice" candidates are asked to create a special VIP experience for preferred Lexus guests to introduce the company's new sedan. While one team attempts to redefine luxury, the other team must compensate for a distracted project manager and the budding romance between two of their teammates. The winners gets to create a new rap song with Snoop Dogg, while the losers get blindsided by an unexpected double firing in the boardroom. Randal Pinkett, "The Apprentice" season four winner, will observe this week's competition and advise Trump in the boardroom.

We know the budding romance is between Arrow's Tim and Nicole. Could they cause such a distraction that they cause their team to lose, and Trump fires them both?

We know the budding romance is between Arrow's Tim and Nicole. Could they cause such a distraction that they cause their team to lose, and Trump fires them both?

Well, there are 3 possibilities here:

1. Fired is Surya plus either Tim or Nicole
2. Fired is Surya plus someone else on Arrow
3. Fired is Tim and Nicole

From what I have seen of Surya and the negative resposne his team has had to him, I'll bet they throw him under the bus in the Boardroom. My vote is for option #1 above, as Donald Trump surprises everyone by breaking up the loving couple after firing Surya.

Here's a blurb for the March 25 episode .........

THE APPRENTICE
03-25-2007 10:00PM
COMPETITION HEATS UP AS TEAMS TRY TO OUTSELL EACH OTHER AT UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD -- Trump rocks the boat when he forces one team to send a member to the other. As a result, the task becomes an all out war as the candidates scramble to sell tickets to world famous theme park Universal Studios Hollywood. The winners take to the skies above Los Angeles, while the losers turn on each other in the boardroom.

The teams are at Arrow with 5 members and Kinetic with 4 right now. I predict that Arrow wins the task this week, with possibly Kristine getting the boot. Then on the 25th, Arrow sends a member, possibly Stefani, over to Kinetic to balance the teams!!!

I agree, I think Kinetic will lose this task.  In the preview for next week, Nicole was shouting, "This is HUGE!" when referring to the reward.  Nicole is on Arrow, unless Nicole is the one who moves over to Kinetic and they win.

Now that I think about it, maybe Trump forces Nicole to move over to Kinetic in order to split up the couple.

I hadn't thought about that!!! It would be just like something he'd do!!!

But I think after Stephanie moves over to Kinetic, she becomes PM and leads them back to victory. Arrow loses both Tim and Nicole in another double firing!!!

Double firing is this Sunday.  Kinetic and Arrow disband, and form 3 teams of two people each.  The losing team will probably be going home.  The task is to design a brochure for the new Trump Tower.  Finale is April 22.

Thanks, TPorter.  That is going to be a good episode.  So if I'm right, this is how the rest of the season ends:

April 8th: 6 people at the task, 2 fired, 4 remain
April 15th: 4 people at interview process, 2 fired, 2 remain (maybe a final three instead?).  Start final task.
April 22nd: Finish final task, Trump Hires someone.

Am I right?  Is this how the season will end?

I won't be home on the 22nd.  Our son is graduating on the 20th so we will be staying in a motel near the base.  I think we'll be leaving the following monday.  Maybe if my son has to be back in the early evening, then we can watch it.  I'll see.

I wonder how they paired them up?   ???

Hope the two who get fired are NOT Heidi/Frank.  Heidi has been my Pick to win since the show started!  :yess:

They just showed a preview of the next episode during Identity (even had Tyson from Beauty & Geek 2 on the show).  It showed who is paired with who.  Here they are:

Stefani and James
Heidi and Frank
Kristine and Nicole

That's my question too, how were they chosen. I don't think Heidi would choose Frank. I agree with Ruday, Heidi and Frank are the two strongest and Heidi has been the star this season. When she sits beside Trump she looks like she belongs there.

My guess is Kristine and Nicole are the goners. Heidi and Frank final two.

Here's how I think they'll split up the teams:

Notice that the teams are Kinetic/Kinetic, Kinetic/Arrow, Arrow/Arrow.  Trump asks one person from Arrow, from the beginning, to be PM.  Heidi won the task last week for Kinetic, so she'll be PM again.  When they get to the boardroom, they learn that the project managers are teaming up (Heidi and Frank) to make a third team.  The two left on the other teams are what's left of Kinetic and Arrow.

I'd like to see Kristine/Nicole gone too.  Kristine bores me to death.   :zz:

Here's an alternative analysis for you to consider:

1. I agree that Kristine/Nicole is the weakest team and is likely to lose tomorrow night.

2. On F4, I do not expect the teams to mean anything, I expect Trump to see that the strongest two individuals are picked. That will certainly include Heidi unless she loses tomorrow. That is most certainly NOT going to include Frank due to all the **** he's pulled on-camera. I expect the other F2 to be Stefani(who will win tomorrow), with James having a slight chance.

With three teams of two, are there going to be two winners of the task, or two losers? If two winners, then I think both members of the losing team will be fired. If there is only one winning team, is it possible that Trump fires one member of both the losing teams?  ???

I am going to predict that James and Stefani are the sole winners of the task, and that Frank and Kristine are fired from each of the losing teams!!!

Interesting reading everyone's ideas.
I'm still hoping Heidi is the big winner b/c she has proven so far that she can handle the tasks & stay cool under pressure!  Plus, she's an excellent PR person, gets along with everyone even the ones she doesn't like.  She looks right at home next to Trump, as you say, TL.  When she participates in the boardroom discussions & asks the right questions, it's almost like she already belongs there.
Hope she does an excellent job on the final tasks ahead and stays strong in spite of all obstacles.  She has what it takes & will make Trump proud to call her his Apprentice!  :yess:

Not sure if this is spolierly material, but it's info on tonight's episode.

Trump to market condos on 'Apprentice'

Donald Trump is using his assistant-grooming reality show to sell units in his second Las Vegas condominium tower.

For a one-hour episode of "The Apprentice" scheduled to air Sunday, contestants were tasked with devising a marketing plan for Trump Tower II, which like its predecessor will be 64 stories of gold glass just off the Las Vegas Strip, developers said.

The challenge is formidable. Las Vegas' once-hot condo market has cooled in the past year, leaving dozens of projects stalled in blueprint stages and many condo buyers wanting out.

Trump's Las Vegas projects are partnerships with casino owner Philip Ruffin, owner of the New Frontier hotel-casino next door.

Both towers include about 1,300 luxury condominium units, with a hotel rental option, at prices ranging from $700,000 to $7 million.

Tower I is expected to cost $600 million and be completed in early 2008. Tower II, targeted for completion two years later, is estimated to cost $700 million. Gross sales on the towers are projected to reach $2.5 billion, making it Trump's largest project to date, said Jack Wishna, a dealmaker involved in the project.

Regardless of the plans contestants devise, "The Apprentice" episode is itself a shrewd piece of marketing, Wishna said.

"It probably would cost us $60 million if we were to advertise for a full hour on prime-time TV," he said.

He's had similar episodes before but I never thought about the marketing aspect of free advertising for him. (OK, let's say I'm sorta slow.) LOL

Still it will be interesting to see how they do with this, since the article says the market is slow. Thanks for the tip on this Cinera.  :hugs:

I'm really looking forward to this episode.  I hear two female voices just before Donald says "You're Fired", so I am guessing Nicole and Kristine are going also.

Here's a minor prediction:
Because Heidi has had her extra shot at Project Manager and Frank hasn't, I expect that Frank will be the Project Manager for their team.

That's for sure, TL.  I'm shocked out of my gourd.  Well there goes my 400 pts. :'(
Mostly, I'm disappointed in Heidi's performance tonite.  Also, if Kristine had chosen Heidi instead of  Nicole to pair up with, I bet K/H would've made a better team and ended up as final 2.

I wonder if Heidi hadn't tried to pass the blame off and just been honest, would Trump have fired her? I thought she was better than that. She hadn't  worked with Frank before but they could have produced a knock-out presentation. I couldn't believe how weak she was, particularly after seeing the other two presentations. But we had a glimpse of this Heidi though once before when Trump asked her opinion and she waffled and dissembled and wouldn't give a straight answer. If Heidi had talked over the visuals, that part wouldn't have seemed so sloppy.

I did think it was extreme to fire someone for a mistaken phone number, they had a very short time to design it and it was a small detail that could easily be changed before printing. (Does it seem strange that Trump noticed this discrepancy so quickly?)  ???  The look on Kristine's face was priceless!

TL, thanks for jogging my memory of Heidi "waffling" and failing to give a straight answer a few weeks ago in the boardroom.  That bothered me...and should've been a sign to me to change my winner pick.  Whatever, I'm going to change my pick to Stefani or James. (for 50 pts)
Of the F4, they seem to be the most qualified. They worked together in harmony while preparing their presentation and it was absolutely awesome!  I got goose bumps watching it!

Kristine & Heidi were cute chatting in the car as they left the mansion!  Good that they both have good attitudes  and kept their sense of humor.

the comment from kristine about not wanting to team up with heidi was great foreshadowing. i knew at least one of them was going home. stephani and james really deserved their win over the other two teams. for a minute, i thought he was going to fire all of the other four.

It's a no-brainer to pick James and Stefani for F2. Nicole has done nothing noteworthy. Frank lost his only stint as Project Manager and his televised antics throughout the remaining history of Arrow were pathetic (I'm sure Trump has seen them too). His performance Sunday night was more pathetic than Heidi's, but Trump wanted to make an object lesson of Heidi as somebody performing way below expectations (I'm sure his expectations for Frank were much lower).

The question of who wins the FINALE is interesting. James would appear to have the edge with his Project Manager record, but I believe Stefani's contributions to all Arrow victories were huge and recognized on camera. She is much classier than James. I expect her to be the Apprentice 6.

You must be watching a different camera than I have apskip, because I haven't seen much of Stefani. I believe she has flown very under-the-radar, but has probably been smart to not get involved in much of the team politics. She does appears to be a good presenter, but other than that I haven't seen much to go on.

Also, she has not stepped up and been a PM, so I question whether or not she has the stones to lead!!! I will admit that under the "winning PM gets to keep leading" format, she hasn't had much of a chance yet. Surya and James both held onto the PM job for long periods.

All that being said, I have had Stefani as my "winner pick" since March 7th. I see the rest of you guys had Heidi!!!  :kissy:

Along with the stupid living in a tent gimmick, the other loser gimmick this season had to do with keeping a project manager in place if the team won. Thus we didn't get to see Nichole or Stefanie as project manager, something that would have helped them to make it to the final two. I don't this happening unless next week's challenge is something that they can do individually and not as a team.

I thought Heidi was being groomed for the winning slot but she lost me a few weeks ago when she didn't want to answer a simple question. One that a leader has to make, who to keep and who needs to go. Perhaps Trump didn't like that either. He put her on the spot twice. More than that, I would think Trump would see what was filmed during the actual project and should have known that Heidi wasn't telling the truth. Frank nailed her.

This coming Sunday will be the key. Teams favor James and Frank.

Speaking of forshadowing, we could say that about James. Trump asked him to go check on the phone number, he asked his opinion, and he had him help Nicole with the computer to get the Power Point presentation going.

Even though I have Stefani, I think (mostly hope) that James wins. Stefani has been too much UTR for me, and has not stepped up as PM. And as TL pointed out, Trump as James, not Stefani, to help twice last week. It sure looks like Trump values his opinion!!!

Well this season, the PM stayed PM as long as their team won.  So there weren't as many chances to step up.  But Stef still could have.  James has been willing to be right in there no matter what though.  I could change to James, but think I'd lose my 50% bonus now...even if I don't change any answers to the questions.  ???
