OK, let's get things rolling, shall we.  Found some possible matches for the Mongolia (Ulaanbaatar) pitstop (CBS) pix.  These type of building all look alike, lol.  So bash away, as I'm not all that happy with the selections myself.

It doesn't appear to be the big 3:Gandan, Choijin, or Bogd Khan. This travel site works OK as a portal; it has photos, descriptions of local attractions, rail/flight timetables, etc. The big temples in town (it is a temple/monastery? Could it be something different?) are all on flat ground--no hills nearby. If it's near UB it should be available to GE, but I haven't spotted it yet.

Did some checking, and Choijin is only one block south of the main square in the middle of UB.  Bogd Khaan is said to be approx. 2 km south, closer to the mountains on UB's south side.  I suspect anyone looking on Google Earth try the southern part of UB, as the pix of Phil & greeter may be looking "south".  Just a guess.

Based on this street map (best I could find), I've attached the kmz for the winter palace; south of town but still in the flatlands.

Wow, I think you got it! Compare the red tile wall-tops, the tourist gers (round white things) and the "watchtower" with the green roof. Site

Maybe the building up on the hill is the pitstop. Here's a map with gachuurt; unfortunately, it's in the GE fuzzylands.

Double, yet triple, groan!

Is this the First pit stop or Second? Isn't the First pit stop in China?  If they go through China and then on to Mongolia all in one leg, it sure would be a killer diller of a first show.

Van Munster took every opportunity to capitalize on signature features of the Northwest while filming this season's premiere.
The contestants arrived on seaplanes, and a fireboat shot arcs of water out of Lake Union in front of a misty city skyline.
Van Munster surveyed the scene from the top of the hill.
"Who is communicating with the fireboat?"
"Brittany is," said a drenched crew member.

Seattle fireboats. Maybe 2 teams aboard per boat.

Yawn.

Just so much info being posted, I could miss all 13 eps and still know what happens when.

But still, which team is going to be the bitchiest?  Which team is going to fight the most?  Which team is going to be all lovey-dovey? Which team is going to hit on whom? Which team is going to be so proud of its weakest member?  Which team is just not going to have a clue about what is going on?  Which team will put octane gasoline in a diesel engine?  Which team won't be able to stick shift a car? Which team won't be able to read a map?  And so it goes.

So, I guess there still is a lot to learn.
