Starting in Seattle and heading WEST to Hawaii and points further on would be a welcome departure from the usual East to West trip around the globe.  When travelling west you can pick up some nice hours and jet lag is less.  For instance: flight from Washington DC to Los Angeles takes a little over five hours, but you only lose two hours on the clock since you travel through three time zones.  Provides many more opportunities for same day flight and tasks. Hope the sighting in Seattle is a bona fide goodie!

FWIW, here are the Hawaii airports serviced by Seattle:

MOST SERVICED (several flights all day):
Kauai (LIH)
Honolulu (HNL)
Maui - Kahaului (OGG)
Kona (KOA)

SOMEWHAT SERVICED (several flights in morning)
Molokai (MKK)
Maui - Kapalua (JHM)

LIMITED SERVICE (only a couple flights a day)
Lanai City (LNY)
Hilo (ITO)

Now if only there were a way to figure out which Seattle gate had flights going to Tokyo AND Hawaii...

There's a rumour going around on another site (site not in English, so no point in linking it) that an older team was walking in the Old City of Dubrovnik, Croatia (no cars allowed).

before I forget ~ ^^

a lot of my teammates will think i am posting about how our english workshop posters for the summer say 'amazing race' on them and were mistaken by one teacher to be white supremacy propaganda, but that is not why i am writing....

the real reason why this blog is entitled 'the amazing race' is because today in Rijeka we held, for the new summer projecters, our own version of the amazing race. here are the team, and intros of the summer projecters:

Thanks for the news! Here's the photo album. The exif data (click on "more properties" for each photo) is a little confusing. Although many of the pictures were taken on 09 June (8-9 a.m. approx.), they were uploaded on 08 June. Fast workers over there  (could the time zones make that much of a difference?).

That now, is what I would call a real SOLID clue from Kuwait.  At least six teams spotted and identified (male and female in yellow shirts are team no. 5 or 6 from the look of the tag on her bag). Also good shot of seven identical (different colors) SUV's parked in front of the Kuwait Airport.  A little confusing at first but one pix seems to be shot in a car's rearview mirror so the shot of the cars is reversed. So if TPTB are up to their usual tricks one more than necessary cars are in the car park.

So if we have the teams leaving Seattle for Hawaii on or about May 30 will they gone through five legs before arriving in Kuwait on or about June 8 with only six teams now in the running?  That's 10 days so it very well could be.

Also KKuwait spoiler says that one team asked him for money?  So is leg five the first NEL?  Again possible since NEL has appeared as early as the fifth leg in some previous TAR's.

So again it does look like this is the first TAR to go around the world EAST to WEST.

Looking at what's been posted, I'd offer a couple of comments.  The Kuwait pics look authentic based upon some of the crew you can see in the pictures.  The only question would be when they were actually there.  2nd, the Seattle start information seems a little weak - if they did start from Seattle you would think there would be more spottings than the information from one person who also said they were a semi-finalist.  That person said they didn't make the final interviews but knew the week the race was supposed to start - I don't think so.

Oh Boy !!

The original link

Quote
I was at the airport this morning to bid farewall to a family member .. but you probably don’t care about that.

Anyway .. I was at starbucks, talking to family; then I see a bunch of people running out of the departure gates with large bags and tons of Camera Equipment. I realized it was a reality tv show, and couldn’t think of anything except the ‘Amazing Race’.

I took some pictures with my camera-phone (which are quite bad). Then my cousin and I decided to go see what the whole thing was about. I asked them if it was the Amazing Race, they said it was a ‘travel show’ .. fair enough.

Then I figured, they are probably on a task .. lets help em cheat. They needed directions to Kuwait Towers, told them to go down the aiport road, hang a right on 1st ring and follow the towers. Then they asked if I had any money.. I figured they are semi-celebrities, so I gave them a kd. Then the camera crew asked for my persmission to record .. couldn’t read the contract, way too blurry. I think I might have given someone my first-born.

I then followed them to the Kuwait towers, took a couple more pictures.

The shots aren’t that good .. but you get the picture (no pun intended).
Pictures are in the gallery (link is up there ^), if your too lazy click here.

Photos are from between
08 Jun 06 & 09 Jun 06.

Great find, Puddin.  I remember reading that post but I also discounted it because I misread it.  I was thinking that the team was going from Queensland, Australia to Auckland.  Why would the race go to Australia again?  Duh!!

Queenstown, N.Z. does have a major airport and it's quite possible that the race returns to New Zealand for the first time since TAR5.

If true, this also means that the race is circling the globe going west.

I am a little skepical about all this.  My first thought,

1. I do not see any yellow or red anywhere.
2. I do not see any fanny packs ( or whatever you call them) with red and yellow.
3. What amazes me is that they are not in a rush. They are very calm, especially in the cars.

If these pictures are in fact of AR10. WHow.   Its been a long time.   I am so happy, Cannot wait till Sept.

One more thing, 7 cars, does not mean 7 teams, Maybe 2 teams where ahead, and this guy did not take pictures of them.
