CHATEAU, it couldn't be Nov. 26th as that is when they were spotted in Tierra del Fuego National Park. It has to be Nov. 25.

GMAN, I agree with PUDDIN. USA TODAY was uninformed back when they issued their article. There is a probability that it was Dec. 17(due to crossing the International Date Line) when teams hit Honolulu and not more than one day later to the finish line.

Thanks apskip. I don't know how I got the 26th. But, as you know, it really does not change the time estimates much.

Wow! I'm really surprised they gave us a promo of a future challenge Fantastic sleuthing Slowhatch and Chateau with credits to peach as well Normally I don't like to get too far ahead of the episodes but with so much info and pictures I'll go ahead and start an EP3 thread later on and move all this stuff over.

According to Rabrab At TWoP the race ends hereSan FranciscoOn Dec. 17, the SF Recreation and Park Department closed Strybing Arboretum in Golden Gate Park from 10 a.m. to approximately 12:30 p.m. for the filming of the reality television show, "The Amazing Race." [attachment deleted by admin]

Look at all these flights HNL to SFO that put teams in position to get to the finishline between 10:00 and 12:30.

That gives them time to do a task or two before reaching the final mat, which if I recall correctly is the usual practice on the final day and final leg.

OMG! I was just coming online to congratulate Chateau and Slowhatch on a job VERY well done in Punta--but THIS?! I'm going to be sick--I was there on the 21st....could have seen the teams in the airport--missed by 4 doggone days The arboreteum is beautiful but it is also pretty huge. Depending on where you enter, just getting to one specific area inside there could require some serious running around. And since we know the teams were so close together, maybe Charla/Mirna really do lose in a footrace at the end. Quick shots of the Meadow, and the Greenhouse. It really has an international flavor with plants from all over the world--so maybe a great choice for the finale. There is a Japanese Tea Garden too....The fountain might be good for the mat... From the scenes we have so far, it does look like the teams have learned to minimize their backpacks. Of course, I haven't seen the coal miner with his pack yet, so it will be interesting to see if he has learned anything. JVJ are team no. 3.

Here are a few points for a Dec. 17 finish:
1. There are no flights leaving from midnight to 8am from Hawaii. this means that the flight a competitive F3 team is on should be landing before 7am at SFO.
2. There will have to be at least one task in between SFO and the Arboretum, since it cannot be more than 60 minutes on a Sunday morning assuming no luggage other than carry-on directly from one ot the other. They can't be arriving before 8am if the place isn't ready for them until 10am.
3. The recent history of the Amazing Race finishes calls for very short runs to the finish line from the entrance. Great Meadow is perfect from that perspective.

Here is a challenge for all you San Francisco TAR fans:
Sunday morning December 17, 2006
Surely somebody--somewhere--saw something?!
Our guys must have been running around the streets of San Fran that AM--not everybody could have been still in bed with coffee and the paper....

For those going to ****** to check out the original posting of the article about the park closing controversy caused by the AR11 finish on Dec. 17, 2006 in the Golden Gate Park Arboretum, be forewarned that you will not get a screen that looks like page 20 is there under AR 11 SPOILERS. It appears to stop at page 18 and have a last posting date of a few days ago. Just click on the heading and you will get the updated information that goes up to page 20 and is dated last posting Feb. 13.

Hi I recently registered and hope to get in on the discussions, esp. since the race starts this weekend. My first question, I guess, is is there a thread that has spoilers for the tentative order of finish for the All-Stars?? I'm not a big Romber fan since I watched them on Survivor, then the All stars, then the Amazing Race and now the AllStars again, it's time for them to kinda go away. But anyhow, I am one of those who sort of likes to know before hand who will leave and who will be around at the end. thanks and hope to get into more meaningful discussions soon.

Hi ziggy! Welcome to the fun! If you go to the first page of this section, you will find that puddin keeps it very nicely updated with all the confirmed spoilers. The very first post is the list of the teams in order of their believed elimination. The link in that post clarifies where the info came from. ETA: oops--puddin beat me to it! That's what happens when you type too slowly!

Does it mean the final show ever or just for the season? Goodness! Let's certainly hope not! This was for the final show of this season. Of course, we have no guarantees until CBS greenlights more seasons, but IdobelieveinTAR,IdobelieveinTAR,Idobelieve...
