Hi, Puddin!
Actually, I don't understand much about computers. Our PC "guy" said that Microsoft IE browsers are a huge target for, and not secure enough against, those who develop viruses and trojans. He said that once he just visited a site, without clicking on anything there, and he was given a virus. That is obvious since our anti-virus software did not find everything and both our PCs were infected.
My PC had 2 harddrives and I would continually backup my files there. What I didn't know was that it also was being infected.
I lost many years' worth of files....
Thankfully, the files on the second hard drive on my hubby's computer were recoverable. I'm not sure why, but I am so thankful! I had many files there, too, because of having to use his for 9 months.
Now we use Mozilla Firefox. I had downloaded it some time ago, but I was reluctant to learn something new. Big mistake! There is also a browser called Opera, and of course, Netscape. I think just about any other browser besides Internet Explorer would be better for being protected.
