Paula Abdul claimed that she was assaulted at a party over the weekend, Access Hollywood has learned.

Abdul reported the alleged incident at about 9 p.m. Tuesday to the Los Angles Police Department's Hollywood Station.

"She claimed she was at a private party on April 2nd and that at 1 a.m., an argument occurred between her and a man, and that the man grabbed her by the arm and threw her against a wall," an LAPD spokesman told Access Hollywood on Thursday. "She claimed to have suffered a concussion and spinal injuries. She saw her own doctor and at the time of the report, said she would make herself available for photographs (of her injuries)."

The police have yet to take pictures of Abdul, although they are starting to interview witnesses, the spokesman said.

Police have not released the name of the suspect.

Paula knew the man well enough to know his name, police said.
When all is said and done, there is nothing more to say.

Perhaps Paula was taking pain pills before the AI show, which would account for her problem of being slightly incoherent.  Also, I have seen Paula on TV talking about her past physical problems which have caused her a great deal of pain.  So, when she appears to be "out of it", there may be a legitimate reason for it.
