So, I know this is a bit off topic, but has anyone been watching Day Break?  I know, I said I wouldn't get into it, but I heard it was a great replacement for the LOST hiatus and I checked it out.  I must say it's very watchable.  Anyone else?

'Lost' finds new timeslot
Shift ensures the show won't have to battle 'American Idol'
By JOSEF ADALIANABC

is moving "Lost" out of the way of the "American Idol" juggernaut.

Alphabet's January sked, set to be unveiled later today, has "Lost" moving to Wednesdays at 10 when it returns Feb. 7, insiders said. Shift ensures the third-year skein won't have to battle the Fox behemoth.
A year ago, "Lost" took a notable ratings hit once "Idol" returned. Skein has held steady in the ratings this fall vs. last spring, but ABC execs clearly don't want to take the chance of further slippage.

Net's affils should be happy with the shift. With "Lost" at 10 p.m., ABC will be delivering local stations their best numbers for the slot in years.
ABC isn't completely backing away from "Idol," however.
Net has decided to slot its buzzworthy laffer "Knights of Prosperity" Wednesdays at 9 p.m., directly against the "Idol" results show. It'll be paired at 9:30 with another new comedy, "In Case of Emergency."

New laffer block is set to debut Jan. 3, a month before "Daybreak" was set to end its run. Skein may shift to 10 p.m. Wednesday before "Lost" premieres, though it's more likely it'll simply be yanked at the end of December or moved to another night.
ABC will round out its Wednesday lineup with new episodes of "George Lopez" and "According to Jim" from 8-9 p.m. Net will double-pump "Jim" for a few weeks, with "George" bowing Jan. 24 at 8 p.m.

On Tuesdays, "Show Me the Money' will shift to 8 p.m. on Jan. 2. It'll be paired with "Big Day" and "Help Me Help You." Latter laffer may eventually be replaced by newcomer "Notes from the Underbelly," though no decision has been made.
ABC's Sunday, Monday and Thursday skeds will remain unchanged for now. At some point, net will have to make room for the return of "Dancing with the Stars."

On Fridays, ABC will continue to vamp with repeats. Saturday will be a mix of movies and specials.
Still on the bench: six episodes of "The Nine" and "Six Degrees."

I don't really mind the time change.  Still will watch it no matter what.

The good news for me, is that "George Lopez" will be returning!   :yess:  Love that sit-com.

The move is fine with me, I'm still gonna watch it no matter what.

Day Break is a good replacement but I think thats all its gonna be, not seeing it
go any further then the 13 episodes they have planned. I would continue to
watch it if does make it though.

I heard Day Break is only going to have a single season run, because he is apparently going to figure everything out on the final episode before LOST premires.  It's a hard premise to keep going after a season.

I agree that the Day Break premise would be hard to keep going longer than 1 season. But in a way that makes me want to keep on watching it, knowing I won't have to devote more than a few more weeks. Don't you sometimes wish more shows had similar problems, and could reach a resolution sooner than they do, instead of dragging the plot line out for so long!!!  :cmas15

I've been wondering about Day Break...if I'd like it..but have other shows I know I like.
Well 'Lost', it's probably one I'd like but again...other shows prioritize.

Totally agree, Tanbuns, on dragging out a plot line forever.  Yet we watch to find out where it leads!  The networks are sitting back LOL...saying "gotcha"!  :cmaslol

I've really enjoyed this season.  Can't believe they would cancel it on us.  I would like an ending to this mystery, ABC would be idiots if they didn't give this series an end.  If it's on ABC.com, or iTunes, I'd watch the rest!

Now I'll never know if Phil Conners and Ned Ryerson get together or not.

Well DARN!!!  :cmas15

I had hopes that they would at least let Day Break run until LOST started back up!!! I thought last week's episode was pretty good, and was starting to answer some questions.

I hate how ABC cancels shows willy-nilly.  They also canceled Help me Help you, which I really enjoyed.   :knuckles:

That's the way it is lately.  The networks don't let a series take time to grab it's audience anymore.  If within the first 2 or 3 weeks a series doesn't have the numbers, then they just disappear.    :boot:    It doesn't matter if the series is GOOD or not!

Did anyone else see this?

Lilly's house burns
Dec 21, 2006, 12:00 GMT

'Lost' star Evangeline Lilly lost her home to a fire yesterday morning (20.12.06).

The actress' rented Hawaii residence, which she shares with two female members of the 'Lost' crew, was destroyed by a blaze which broke out at 6.30am.

Lilly's publicist Cara Tripicchio said: "Unfortunately, it is true that the home she rented in Hawaii did burn down this morning.

"Evangeline was on set already when the fire occurred and luckily, her roommates were not in the house either. Thankfully, everyone is safe."

Honolulu Fire Captain Kenison Tejada received the alarm call at 6.43am.

He said: "When we arrived the house was fully engulfed. It was a complete loss. We stopped the fire from spreading. It took us maybe 15 to 20 minutes to knock down the main body of fire.

"The only thing standing was the roof and a couple of the interior walls. Most of the contents had been destroyed. The home was pretty much destroyed and uninhabitable."

Fire investigators arrived on the scene after the fire had been controlled but the cause has not yet been determined.

Morgan Janus, a neighbour who lives opposite, told the Honolulu Advertiser newspaper: "I woke up to my dogs barking. There were loud popping sounds, like something electrical."

Lilly, 27, who plays Kate in the cult TV drama, is dating co-star Dominic Monaghan.

The British actor, who starred in the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy, visited the house yesterday to inspect the damage but refused to comment.

Filming for 'Lost' is scheduled to break for Christmas at the end of the week

I heard about that last night.  Poor Lily, she has no house for Christmas.   :cmas4
