Yes, Whiskey, that is what it is called. Whiskey lover is your nickname, and whatever is below that, is your sub-nic.

Don't worry, I had a hard time learning all this message board jargon too. It is almost like another language, especially the aconyms. Puddin uses one on me, TTYL, that I finally figured out was, Talk To You Later!   :)*

OMG I Can Hardly WAIT       :D :D
posted @ sucks

The January 9, 2005 TV Guide (delivered on 12/31/04) contained the following report:

Where’s the Reef?!
Here’s your inside guide to Palau - Survivor’s new paradise in the Pacific

OK, we can tell you the next Survivor begins in February with 20 new castaways, and host Jeff Probst says they’re not the most even-keeled group. Other details on the new tribes are still under wraps, but if you’re wondering, “What’s Palau?” we can answer that.

WHAT IS PALAU? Palau (not to be confused with Survivor’s first locale, Pulau Tiga) is a nation of islands located east of the Philippines and north of Indonesia. It’s one of the world’s least populated (about 20,000 people) and youngest nations. The economy is based on tourism, and residents mostly speak Palauan and English. (One useful phrase for the new castaways: “Merkong!” Which means “Stop! That’s enough!”)

HOLLYWOOD HIGHLIGHT This isn’t the first time the islands have been the backdrop for a Hollywood production. Some scenes in the 1968 movie “Hell in the Pacific” were shot there. The film is about two WWII pilots – One American (Lee Marvin) and one Japanese (Toshiro Mifune) – who crash on a deserted island and must learn how to cooperate in order to survive. Sound familiar?

LEGEND HAS IT Local folklore says that Palau’s islands were created by a giant (think former Survivor Rupert, only bigger). He fell down, and when he toppled, people crawled out of his flesh. Yuck!

WHAT LIES BENEATH Divers from all over the world come to see the beautiful coral reefs and Jellyfish Lake, where the colorful little buggers – isolated over time from their kin in the sea – have morphed into plantlike beings. They don’t sting, but please, castaways, do not eat the jellyfish!

HISTORY LESSONS The region was a battle site for U.S. and Japanese troops during WWII. Sunken ships and fallen airplanes still litter the ocean and land. Says Jeff Probst, “These wrecks serve as backdrops for many of our challenges.”

CIVILIZATION The Survivors are about a 45-minute boat ride from the capital of Koror, where luxurious resorts, hamburger joints and karaoke bars abound – sounds like a good place for challenge rewards.

FEELIN’ HOT! HOT! HOT! Palau has a tropical year-round climate of approximately 82 degrees. The rainy season is July through October, but there is always sunshine. Sound good? Did we mention 82 percent humidity?

WHAT’S FOR DINNER? The contestants this time around shouldn’t be wanting for food. The blue waters surrounding Palau are filled with many oceanic delicacies, including tuna. So, as the Palauans say: “Bo momengur!” (“Have something to eat!”) – Tim Williams

Wow! All that from the TV guide. Although most of the stuff I knew already, because I have been killing time by doing research on the Palau. Will this season hurry up and start?  |:(

Well, the new season started last year after the Superbowl, but THAT won't be happening again for a LOOOOOOONNNNNNNG time (thanks janet/justin) so I would guess that they may premier it the following thursday, which would be 2/10/05. I hope they do so that it's soon! Or even better, 2/3/05!  Who knows. Doesn't anyone have a friend down at CBS? I'd check their website, cause we all know how ACCURATE that is, but nothing there yet either.

Hey I was on survivorsucks and a poster there said that they were reading the box to their alpha-bits and it said on it to watch survivor on 2/10 and 3/10 for a chance to win a trip to a previous survivor location. So, hopefully, this is the premier spoiler we've been waiting on. Later!

Win a trip? Aren't most of the locations wiped away now? Are they not giving away the car on fantasy?  |:(
