Nicole struggled at Roadblock - asks for help from unlikely source (Leo)
Leo refused - helping him and Jamal get first place
Their friends (Ice Queens) eliminated

4 teams left, who will be eliminated next?

Bosscha Observatory - home of 7 telescopes

What has Leo got on his head?!

Route Info - Make your way to King Cobra House; once they have devoured the delicacy, teams will receive next clue

$27 for this Leg of the Race

Marie is not looking forward to the eating challenge at all - says she is the pickiest eater ever

She says she hates meat LOL!

Jay and Amy leave - they say they;re the best losers!

Amy says she loves eating challenges

Nicole and Travis depart - they seem to regret the last leg, especially the Anklung Roadblock

Travis, "She's not a salad-eating woman!"

Leo/Jamal arrive at King Cobra House - said they don't think they eat snake, next minute, BAM! King cobras everywhere!

They start gagging - wondering whether they should eat the skin

Tim and Marie make it to the CIC - but the South entrance! They have to try and find their way to the King Cobra House

Meanwhile, Jamy arrive at the Cobra House - asking whether Timarie have left already, but Assghanimals lie to them saying they have (when they've not even made it there yet!)

Nicole and Travis find the King Cobra House - say they're not afraid of body parts

Tim and Marie still lost... And they start to argue

This is... Bandung, Indonesia! A country stretching over 3,000 miles!

Leo & Jamal depart 1st at 7:25 AM. Travel to King Cobra House and ey a cobra known for healing people. $70ish dollars for this Leg of tha race.

Tim & Marie depart 2nd. Marie complains and whines about eating cobra.

Jason & Amy 3rd to depart. Jason claims they are losers for not winning any legs. Amy loves eating tasks.

Travis & Nicole depart 4th and still reminiscing the Leg 9 disasters.

Leo & Jamal arrive at KCH, they are shocked. They keep attacking the screen. :funny:

Tim & Marie are... Lost. Jason & Amy arrive at KCH and Leo & Jamal LIE to them.

Doctors arrive and Travis wrote about eating, but found out it was only eating a part.

Tim & Marie arguing again

Leo & Jamal finish and travel to Kawah Domas Crater. Jasamy finish 2nd, doctors finish 3rd saying it tastes like chicken.

Switches to Tim & Marie arguing if they are lost.

And for the first time, the Roadblock is actually first!

Leo and Jamal finish King Cobra thing first - make your way to Kawa (?) Domas Crater (I didn't catch the full name of it)

Jamy finish second, say they've eaten bones (yuck!)

Tracole finish third, speculating where Timarie are

Back to Timarie, still arguing that no-one is where they are

Leo and Jamal make it to the crater first - Roadblock!

Roadblock requires one team member to hard boil a dozen eggs to the satisfaction of a chef to receive their next clue using volcanic crater water

Jamal, Jason and Travis all do the Roadblock - they take motorbikes to a path leading to the crater and then have to run along a very treacherous path (lots of chances to drop your eggs!)

Jamal and Jason both arrive at the same time, Travis just afterwards

Travis stating the RB is all about patience

Amy questioning Leo on Timarie not being at the crater - Amy calling him out and being a liar (Go Amy! <333)

Jason and Travis say they should take between 10-15 minutes; joke that Jamal would only leave it for 5

Meanwhile, Timarie finally makes it to the Cobra House and Marie has an absolute stress-out over the fact she has to eat a snake, mainly because she is such a fussy eater

King Cobra House

Marie saying she's gonna throw up - says she can't be the girl who couldn't eat a snake

Marie is commending herself for eating an egg

Meanwhile, back at the crater...

Travis, Jamal and Jason all at the crater - discussing about the snake task, and the fact that Leo and Jamal lied! (Jamal spilling the beans)

At the King Cobra House, Marie is gagging over the snake, but she actually finishes it! They leave the task in last place!

At the crater, Travis and Jason leave whereas Jamal stays there - Travis and Jason debating whether to leave them cooking or to go; they leave for the judging area!

Travis is determined he's right, but Jason is unsure

Tim for title quote!!

Jason and Travis arrive at the judging area!

Jason is unsuccessful - only 6/12 properly done!

Travis is unsuccessful - none were good!

Jamal follows behind, is also unsuccessful! (By the looks of things, only 1 was bad) All 3 head back to the RB

And we are back! Marie is freaking out getting her hair in a tie. Marie tries the Jen method of consuming gross stuff. Jamal confesses about the lie.

Marie finishes by the skin of a snake. :funny:

The Roadblock boys are done with the spring boiling and go back to the teammate location.
Jason's eggs are bad and have to go back to the hot springs. Travis's entire box is rejected! :funny:
Leo also fails, feeling confident. The boys try again. They want to sabotage the exes.

Marie chooses to perform the Roadblock. "You've been ere for a while?" "....nmh"

Leo & Jamal speak gibberish and other nonsense.

Tim facepalms himself for Marie choosing a Roadblock she doesn't have any experience in especially with patience. Marie sees the boys and they all get their next clue.

DETOUR: Paint Yor Partner or Turn Over a new Leaf
PAINT YO' PARTNER: Replicate Javanese bride make-up and hair
TURN OVER: Find scissors in a huge tea terrace.

Marie doesn't know what she's doing. :cheer:
Commercial break.

Jamal regrets staying for another 2 minutes, because he still has to go back

Travis and Jason both telling Jamal to tell Marie they only take 8 minutes to boil - 2 way street or what!

ROADBLOCK Q is "Who feels all hard-boiled?" (Paraphrased of course)

Marie does this Roadblock for Timarie

20 minutes everyone is cooking the eggs for - Leo and Jamal deciding it would be good to impersonate Jay and Travis in one of their confessionals :res:

Marie doesn't know how to hard-boil an egg! Even though she eats healthy...

Jay and Travis head back, hoping they are definitely hard boiled

Jamal heads back up as Marie heads down to the geyser

Jason is successful!

DETOUR: Paint Your Partner or Turn Over A New Leaf

Paint Your Partner - Without the use of a mirror, teams have to dress each other as Javanese brides to the satisfaction of a bride, teams receive their next clue

Turn Over A New Leaf - Teams have to find shears in a paddock of tea leaves

Travis and Jamal are also successful!

Jay/Amy and Tracole do Paint Your Partner

Assghanimals do Turn Over A New Leaf

Marie still struggling with the Roadblock - she's 29 and doesn't know how to boil eggs!

She wonders if she needs to put the eggs IN THE WATER! (YES, THEY DO!!!)

Jay is wondering whether the shears would be easier - he's not comfortable making Amy up!

Jay laughing that Amy almost looks the Javanese bride

Travis a bit worried that he has to shave - obviously, he wasn't looking like a Javanese bride with a beard

Nicole, "My husband looks like the sexiest drag queen ever!"

Marie been down for a long time - Tim says that anything she cooks is good (even if it's hockey puck style!)

Leo/Jamal arrive at the tea terrace - saying they look like girls in their uniforms...

Snakes in the tea terrace - how terrifying!

They start in the first terrace possible and quickly find a white flag - although I'm not sure that's what they're looking for...

Marie gets her eggs judged - said she doesn't do yolks

And she gets it first time! They're off to do Paint Your Partner

Tracole have no clue what they're doing - Travis was worried that he wouldn't be able to do the make-up

Jason has similar concerns - both him and Travis have concerns they picked the wrong Detour

The flag that Assghanimals find is incorrect (obviously) so they try and find a second one to make scissors (?!)

Timarie arrive at the Detour - Tim is shocked that he has to shave!

Marie is worried she won't be able to do the make-up as she doesn't really wear make-up

Back at the tea-terrace, Assghanimals are getting worried they can't find the shears... And switch Detours to Paint Your Partner

And we are back! "I am 29 years old and I don't know how to boil eggs."

Jason & Amy disagree on the Detour, but chooses the bridal one. Travis needs to shave to perform the bridal Detour.

"My husband looks like the sexiest drag queen ever!" This shpuld have been the title quote. :funny:

Marie believes she is done and takes the eggs back to the hut.

Leo & Jamal dress as Indonesian farmers and sees cobras on their way to the plantation. They try to find the scissors and thuey find... A FLAG! :funny:

Marie thinks all yolks look the same. They surprisingly pass! What an all-star! "You'll look so metro, you'll do fine!" Looks like bridal is their choice.

Nicole complains about Trav's oily face and the decorations not sticking to his skin.

Leo & Jamal are SOOO confused. They now speculate the whew flag means to surrender the task. :funny:

Marie arrives at the bridal Detour and claims she doesn't pit make up on.

Leo & Jamal are shown not understanding the Detour.

It looks like I missed the entire eating kobra task... that's dissapointing...

Marie getting the eggs in the first try was actually kinda cool, especially because Tim was talking about how everything was against her xD

Why Leo&Jamal thought they got it right with the white flag? the clue said clippers O.o

And we're back...

Leo/Jamal make their way to the Javanese bride place, where all other teams are still making each other up

Jason wondering why they couldn't find the scissors

Amy, "Remember that little thing call karma?!" <333333333

Leo/Jamal get a bit whacked about shaving

Tim and Marie start powdering each other faces - Jay and Amy look as though they're doing well but Tracole are seriously struggling!

Jay and Amy get approved and are on their way to the next Pit Stop! I see a first place!

Pit Stop is the base of the Cimahi Waterfall

Assghanimals make their way back to the tea terrace Detour after not wanting to shave

Meanwhile, Tracole are SERIOUSLY struggling - things are falling off, so Timarie have caught up massively!

Timarie get denied their make-up, but... So do Tracole! They both see if there are minor details - they both look so silly

And Jay and Amy make their way to Phil... AND IT'S FIRST PLACE!!! <33333

Jay and Amy win a trip to Cancun, Mexico!

Back! Leo & Jamal are disappointed and switch Detours. "Remember that Lil thing called karma?" The A$$animals must sacrifice their beards to perform the bridal Detour.

Jason & Amy finish stunningly, they must travel to the PS, Cimahi Waterfall.

Leo & Jamal returns tea plantation and tries to find the scissors.

The docs and exes are rejected from their drag looks.

:cheer: JASON & AMY ARRIVE FIRST AT THE PIT STOP!!! :cheer: They get a Travelocity vacation to Cancun!!!

Tim & Marie finish the Dtour! Leo & Jamal find a king cobra, but Jamal jokes about the shears. :-[

Trav & Nic finish the Dtour, and Leo & Jamal keep finding and eventually find a MARKED shear. :funny:

Travis & Nicole and Tim & Marie have a taxi 2 taxi race!!! :luvya: Mojo & Hippie-style Foot race to the Pit Stop!!!

TIM & MARIE - 2nd
TRAV & NIC - 3rd
LEO & JAMAL - Last place / non-eliminated

Back at the Javanese bride Detour, Tracole are still struggling - Travis think it's the eyebrows; Tim calls him a mess

They state because there is black paint on their hands, they can't continue forward - they wipe it off, and Timarie are out in the Detour in second!

At the tea-terrace, we are currently experiencing The Fall Of Leo And Jamal! And they bump into... a few snakes :P

Leo jokes he found the scissors :P

Travis notices Nicole's hands are all blackened - so decide to wipe them clean... And they're out the Detour in third! <3 Leo and Jamal still struggling at the Detour...

But they finally found the scissors, so it's now a 3-way taxi race to the next Pit Stop!

Tracole are saying they've done too much to go home now

Timarie are getting paranoid that other teams are passing them as they ride

Marie yelling at the driver to go faster

Leo/Jamal saying the scissors they found were in the first 3/4 rows they checked - they could have been first!

Tracole and Timarie caught right up with each other after Tracole got stuck in traffic... And they've passed them! <3

It's a footrace...

And Tim and Marie are 2nd! Which makes Tracole 3rd!

Phil comments that Travis looks like an angry showgirl

Leo/Jamal last... But they are NEL'd :)

Pit Stop Results

1st - Jason/Amy
2nd - Tim/Marie
3rd - Travis/Nicole
4th - Leo/Jamal (NEL'd)

Next week on the 2 hour season finale of The Amazing Race!

After more than 35000 miles and 9 countries, it all comes down to a Final 4 race to the finish!
Tasks include diving in a giant fishbowl type thing, building some form of robot (Amy helping Nicole again by the looks of things) and being flung down a ramp on a raft

In the preview, they showed teams getting down and crazy at a human bowling party. The mechanical structures are shown at the square with lots of drama. Nothing from the final Leg in Juneau that I know of.

Nicole dissapointed me again this episode, she did a terrible job with Travis' make up :/

Actually I could live without this episode, 3 tasks that took forever but nothing was actually happening, was kinda boring, and it didn't pay off at the end because it was a NEL...

The only positive thing I got was, Jason&Amy's 1st place  :yess:, Leo&Jamal in last  :yess:, Marie's inability to boild eggs  :stare , Tim saying he tried to pick up Jason  :funny:, Leo&Jamal changing because they won't shave their beards  :funny: (I would totally run away if I have to shave to do a challenge btw)

Leg 10 (Indonesia) Analysis
Wow, I mean wow! As much as I wanted to not like this season's Indonesia route, the planners and editors called me out and proved themselves by delivering a well-planned Leg this time. Looks like the lucky seven works. The scenery of the Javanese forests were spectacular and breathtaking. There were so many incredible moments that went on during this Leg from the cobra consumption to Marie's all-star un-karma at the Roadblock to the foot and taxi race between the doctors and the exes. Also, everything put this Leg as a whole. Nothing and nobody was forgotten.

This Leg has a feature star, the King Cobra House. Its task of eating a fried snake looks challenging, but once you get it down your esophagus, you are pretty much finished and onto the next task. However, it is rubbish compared to the Beijing street delicacies from TAR14. I'd rate it a decent 8/10.

ROADBLOCK: Hard-boil eggs using a hot springs
Not only did the Roadblock finally make its debut first, the egg cooking concluded itself as a really great task. To pass, you need to have an immense amount of patience. (That is key.) You must wait a proper amount of time to boil eggs since the temperature is unknown, and if your eggs are still raw or still containing runny yolks, you must go back down to the rocky springs and wait longer to hit the right consistency. I was surprised how the guys who did the Roadblock first didn't utilize the "spin method" of trying to cook raw eggs. To see spin method, click on the "Show content" bar :
Show content
SPIN METHOD: To determine if eggs are thoroughly hard-boiled or not, spin an egg on a flat surface. If the egg wobbles, the yolk is not fully cooked. If the egg comes to a stop like a ceiling fan, they are boiled properly.)

ROADBLOCK SCORE: 10/10

DETOUR: Paint Your Partner or Turn Over A New Leaf
Paint Your Partner is a "pretty" fun task to do. Of course, the male racers must shave before applying the decorative Javanese wedding pieces and make-up to their faces. It shocked me how costly the choice proved to be toward Leo & Jamal not wanting to shave their beards. What would Brandon & Adam do? The replication takes a good eye and a sense of beautification to win over the judge. (What's with so many wedding tasks this season?) On the other hand, Turn Over a New Leaf, gave me a sense of confusion and luck. I wish they made this a Roadblock though to see all the remaining teams be frustrated about finding a pair of shears in a gorgeous terrace of tea leaves. Both these tasks were unique and awesome on their own way, this deserves a high rating.
DETOUR SCORE: 10/10

OTHER RANDOM SCORES:
SCARY COBRA SCORE: 5/10
Cobras weren't that scary as they were shown fried on a plate. :res: *with regettable amount of confidence*

SEXIEST DRAG QUEENS SCORE: 10/10
NECK-2-NECK RACE SCORE: 8/10
MARIE-BEING-A-BIT¢H SCORE: 4/10
LEO-AND-JAMAL BUSTED-OMETER: 12/10

I also thought the tasks were well planned and related to the locale. We've seen similar tasks in the past in other locales (search a large field to find a specified object, eating unusual food that locals do eat -- and I won't mention the camel head meat tasks from a number of seasons back). The makeup task seems to be the most unique of the three tonight, although we've had wedding related tasks before.
But the beauty of this episode is that among the final four teams, every good or bad decision had repercussions. In this case, Leo and Jamal made a poor choice in leaving the search task in the first place; and Tim and Marie's problem in figuring out their taxi had taken them to the wrong entrance didn't help, but they made a great recovery in getting through that eating task, the roadblock and the detour and essentially catching up to the other two teams (other than Leo and Jamal.)
It isn't clear to me how far behind Leo and Jamal are in checking in, but I had realized that this leg had to be an NEL, so I wasn't worried about the order of finish. The real question is whether being in last place has any impact in going to the next country or if the Speedbump has an impact on which team is the last team to be eliminated.

The problem with your test is that they didn't have a suitable flat surface to do it on. It was all rocks and dirt around the hot spring.

this leg definitely represents another view of Indonesia's beautiful scenery.
 :hrt:
it's not just traffic jam and cars honking all the time

the cobra eating was okay. I heard cobra eating was actually really good for skin and acne care

the roadblock was okay too. it was tricky, well... I wouldn't call it tricky. It's basically boiling eggs. I have boiled eggs several times. It will need more or less than 15 minutes to get them hard-boiled. Half an hour if you need to boil the water first, but it looks like the water was already boiled by the volcano. Jamal, Jason, and Travis were just too hasty. 8 minutes, 10 minutes, yeah those eggs would still be runny alright! You kinda notice they rarely cooked before.
:funny:

Tim claimed Marie is a good cook so I would actually be surprised if she didn't get it at the first shot even it was her first time boiling eggs. When she just put the basket over the water I was like " Oh yeah okay, that would do it!!!"   :groan:

Eggs would hardly be ruined even if they're over cooked for several minutes. I knew she would just make it over cooked. Good on her part. I'd do the same thing.
 :)

The detour was good. The tea field's scenery was AMAZING! It was like one of the places I wish I had a chance to pay a visit sometimes. The objectives of both sides were too simple but WOW! Ass-animals spent  more than five hours on the detour. They should just take the penalty in the beginning. And you kinda know the makeup thingy would require at least 2 hours, and no mirrors???
 :funny:

the pit-stop was good. it was pretty. I like it...
Jamy won the leg OMG!!!!!!!!
 :yess: :cheer: :wohoo:
You kinda knew with the make up task they would win the leg

Also I was sooooo TIRED of the alliances, especially Jamy and Tracole.  Ass-animals were right on that part. It was okay when there's like 8 or 7 or 6 teams left. But now it's FINAL 4!!!! Other team's downfall could possibly and highly mean your survival!

Looking forward to the finale... Fingers crossed Ass-animals didn't survive Tokyo.
Karma is a bitch! But speed bump is a bigger bitch!  :knuckles:

Just watched the episode and I loved it!

Eating the cobra was good, but it is one thing I would really have a hard time doing, but it looked like all teams did it pretty fast. :)

Roadblock was good as well, patience was the only key to this one since you basically just wait and sit down for the eggs to cook.

The Detour was great, I just laughed all the way with how Travis looked  and the tea plantation looked stunning!

The Pit Stop was amazing, great location! ;)

You must wait a proper amount of time to boil eggs since the temperature is unknown,

Temp of boiling water is a pretty well known science constant.....212 F or 100 C @ sea level. Did we not pay attention in science class? As you go up in altitude, water boils at lower temps, but that volcano is not Mt Everest. So the differential is really small. Dissolved mineral/salts in the water could raise the boiling point a bit. Add a minute to normal time for making hard boiled eggs would have taken care of the problem.

Apparently, as a group, it seems that none of them make hard boiled eggs and really didn't have knowledge of how long it takes........lol

When teams got their next clue after completing the RB, it was a detour clue

but on this picture below, there was another clue box behind Tim and Marie when they read their Detour clue. I wondered if the clue from the Roadblock was actually a Route Info that lead them to this location and the production cut that part...

I feel a little sorry for Marie when she had to eat King Cobra.  I'm also a finicky eater, although in my case it's probably due to my having Asperger's Syndrome.  Marie doesn't have that excuse.  But during the leg, I also couldn't help thinking "And I thought I was a finicky eater!" at times about Marie.  I mean, I eat more than salads!  Then again, maybe Marie's a vegetarian like Kat was.  Or was Kat a vegan?  Either way, Marie might just not eat meat -- or any other animal products.

Marie was hilarious and awesome!   :conf:
However, AMY angered me, to say the least.
Her comments about the Afghanimals throughout the Leg made me want to slap something. (:;)
And then saying how they're the BEST TEAM @ the Pit Stop! What was THAT about? Now you've won your FIRST LEG you're suddenly the best? Tim & Marie, the Afghanimals, and Travis & Nicole would LOVE to show you their MULTIPLE LEG WINS, Amy!  :tantrum

I also loved Marie (they're now my fav team - how did that happen!?) but I also liked Amy. I don't think anything she said about the Afghanimals was that bad/untrue. And although the last four teams are strong, I think the fact J&A have the best relationship makes them the strongest team, they're definitely consistent!  :hoot:

The editors often cut out all references to a route marker or task, and try to make it seem that the Racers are reading the clue to the next location that is being used. That's when you will see such inconsistencies on screen.

That crater looks beautiful I wish we get more scenery of that...
The editors probably cut it because there was no necessary placement changes from the roadblock to arriving at that crater... dang!

ROADBLOCK: Hard-boil eggs using a hot springs

SPIN METHOD: To determine if eggs are thoroughly hard-boiled or not, spin an egg on a flat surface. If the egg wobbles, the yolk is not fully cooked. If the egg comes to a stop like a ceiling fan, they are boiled properly.)

ROADBLOCK SCORE: 10/10

The problem with your test is that they didn't have a suitable flat surface to do it on. It was all rocks and dirt around the hot spring.
If they did the egg test on the path Roadblock performers had to run on to get to the motorbikes, it could work.

OK, I hadn't thought of that. It's still probably easier to just give them an extra 3-5 minutes and be absolutely sure they are done rather than run back up the steps and risk having to run back down again. Also, it became apparent when the guy cut them open that some eggs had cooked more than others, so you might have to spin most or all to be sure. Not that the teams would have expected that at the time. I'm guessing the eggs on top may have only been partially submerged and cooked a little less than the others.
