Leg 6 (Poland --> Austria) Analysis:I'd like to start off saying this was a better episode than the previous one in Poland despite the clustering of teams for 70% of the Leg. The tasks overall were really good and hilarious. I'm still kind of disappointed nobody got to do the Donauturm Fast Forward (TAR4 Roadblock "Switchback"). However, we got a mini-Switchback with the hedge maze originating back from TAR10 in Barcelona, Spain.
DETOUR: Chandelier or Masquerade This Detour wasn't really an even playing field. While the chandeliers required meticulousness and dexterity, teams would have had to start ALL OVER if one piece of glass is fixtured improperly. Didn't like how nobody chose that task. For the masquerade, teams could try all they want to find their correct duo and not receive a different mask like what TAR4 did in its Venetian ballroom Roadblock. It did bring out the best or worst in teams.
DETOUR SCORE: 5/10
FAST FORWARD: Donauturm Bungee Jump AKA TAR4 "Switchback"Shameful how the plant-crashing winds didn't let Jason & Amy do the Fast Forward, but it did create some good decision making like in TAR14 if teams should walk or wait for the paraglide.
FAST FORWARD SCORE: 9/10ROADBLOCK: Sing like the Viennese Boys' ChoirThis task will remain the symbol of TAR23 for years and beyond!
It brought out the silly of Tim (Team Oklahoma) and Ally doing the task more than three times to get it to the pianist's satisfaction. Jamal's first try made me cry and laugh on the floor
Nonetheless, the pronunciation of Austrian words are tough and I really do give a ton of respect for their tryings.
