ZouLy:

Bringing Slowhatch & maxen's posts to this thread for possible Starting Line Task discussion...

--- Quote from: Slowhatch on September 10, 2013, 12:46:59 AM ---No Chile thread yet, so I'll throw it in here: just wondering if this might be a task. Each one of those brand-new-looking industrial salt bags (sin aditivos!) weighs about 110 lbs., and I doubt production would pay to deliver them to an old mine just for some window dressing.

It's Sal Alpina

Here is a very nice video (from Sal Alpina) with maps explaining the extraction process.

My guess is that either Phil took this picture at the actual Salt Processing Factory for one of the stand-ups explaining a task in Chile,

or, as Slowhatch stated above, it's at Cowboy Western Studio in CA for Starting line task / decorations...

but what kind of SL task that would be? figuring out the "Sal Alpina" words from the bag to reveal their first destination ???

Hardly a switchback of finding the salt shaker in the salt?

Claude, please note the emoticon that I used; I was being sarcastic.

I think they got the sarcasm........it was the "rhetorical" question they missed.

Slowhatch:
No, I was wondering if production would pay to cart salt bags to Humberstone (map here). I'm thinking the salt bags are either pre-existing for the tourists, or brought over from "Ireland 3" for a photo-op, or staged for a task, and I'm guessing it's a task.

georgiapeach:
Episode 2 will feature an extended task at an abandoned salt mine outside Iquique. We will have lots more info to share before then. :)
