What I meant was that TAM and LAN have strategic codeshares, so it would be easier for teams to fly from SCL to LIS via Brazil.

Presuming they're departing from SCL of course.

TAP and TAM are part of Star Alliance, while LAN Chile is part of One World. Airlines tend to favor alliance partnerships over plain codeshares.

What really stumps me is that sole Lisbon poster was in London a few days back and I really don't see any reasonable reasons why teams would have to connect in London and not other better cities.

Well only if production made teams fly that route. Like last race when teams flew Botswana to London to Zurich. Since Phil flew Botswana to Zurich, it gave him a day to film his standups before teams arrived.

We may have had an extended pit stop to get Phil out of Chile first, whereever the teams went to. The more connecting legs, then more time that will be needed to get from gate to gate in each connecting airport. My guess is that getting from Chile (other than Santiago) to Lisbon would take at least a full day (24 hours disregarding time zones) and possibly more.
They haven't been to Lisbon in a long time. Maybe they'll get to drive diesel again. :)

Dieselgate!  Ah, that brings back memories!   :lol3:

And why would where the poster was have ANY bearing on where the racers were? They weren't seen in London, they were seen in Lisbon. So where the psoter was days ago is not relevant unless I missed something....

She posted she was on the flight with the racers. She is believed to be in London last, so London - Lisbon looks like the path she took.

In TAR's official facebook, a portuguese guy wrote that he saw them on the Lisbon airport like 7-8 hours ago.

Svolvaer is in Northern Norway. Unfortunately I am too far away 😞 And most flights go via Bodoe.

:groan: I was in Svolvaer last month too!

It's not easy to get to by public transport (or even by car)! I was doing my pilgrimage in Narvik and had to take multiple buses (the direct bus doesn't run that often, especially not during the weekends) to get to Svolvaer. There's a ferry from Bodo as well, which is what I think teams might have done.

I'm confused, is Lisbon a leg or just a connection to Norway? I'm lost.

Are we sure Norway is us? The girl in the lighter blue jacket doesn't look like any of ours(but I can see the blue/green M/F team being there)

Lisbon doesn't seem like a logical connection point from anywhere to Norway - it'd be really unlikely!

Let's figure out if Norway is us! My gut feeling is that teams can't get there in time; Svolvaer is not easy to get to! I'll need to check up on when teams were seen in Lisbon though, and I'll only have time when I get home on Wednesday...

Could be female from Boston Strong and African American Lime Green team, perhaps? This is speculation based on photo however..
