SO!! If you are watching anything but an EST US feed, it is your responsibility to be sure you are not ahead of us if you want to post/update in this thread. Canadian feeds may be way ahead of us.

Previously on The Amazing Race, 7 teams raced from Bangladesh to Istanbul.

Rob decided to continue taking the metro instead of getting off and taking a taxi. Teams got scrubbed down at the detour. Lexi served sherbet with a smile and her and Trey won their first leg. James had trouble selling, but Monster Truckers ended up getting eliminated.

6 teams remain. Who will be eliminated next?

Jaymes: "Europe, Asia, Europe, Asia."

Trey & Lexi depart first at 12:35 PM. Fly to Moscow, Russia. Then proceed to Zurab Tsereteli Sculpture Park. Lexi wants a ring on her finger. Trey tells her, "Esay."

Abbie & Ryan depart at 12:56 PM. $420 for this leg of the race. They feel like Nadiya & Natalie have an alliance with Trey & Lexi so that they can U-Turn Abbie & Ryan.

James & Abba depart at 1:03 PM. They're less than 100% but they think they can still beat the other teams.

Trey & Lexi are at the airport, but they don't know what flight company to ask. They end up getting food.

Natalie & Nadiya depart at 1:44 PM. Their taxi driver tells them he loves them? Or they love him? Something like that.

Abbie & Ryan look online for flights. They find Turkish Airlines in Moscow at 3:40 AM. Layover is 1 hour. They decide to book it.

Jaymes & James depart at 1:55 PM.

James & Abba find a flight getting in at 2:00 AM.

Josh & Brent depart at 2:07 PM.

Trey & Lexi and Natalie & Nadiya are are finding a flight together. They find a flight arriving at 4:00 AM. They think they're getting away from the "freaks."

Jaymes & James find a flight arriving at 2:00 AM. They book it.

Abbie & Ryan pass Trey & Lexi and it's awkward. Lexi thinks that Abbie & Ryan are being rude. What did they do. Lexi tells Natalie & Nadiya about the encounter.

Josh & Brent find a flight arriving at 3 AM with a 1 hour layover. The other flight they find arrives at 5 AM. They decide to flip a coin. They pick the flight with the earlier arrival.

Jaymes & James and James & Abba get on the flight scheduled to arrive at 2:00 AM.

Trey & Lexi and Natalie & Nadiya are on the flight scheduled to arrive at 4:00 AM.

Josh & Brent and Abbie & Ryan's flight was delayed 1 hour. They're running to make the transfer... They both miss their transfer.

And we're back.

Abbie & Ryan and Josh & Brent are stuck at Frankfurt. There's no flights out until tomorrow morning.

Jaymes & James and James & Abba's flight lands. They're looking for the statue.

Abbie & Ryan and Josh & Brent find out that the earliest flight is with Warsaw and it lands at 3:10 PM.

There's an hours of operation at the park. Jaymes & James and James & Abba have to wait. Trey & Lexi and Natalie & Nadiya arrive at the park. Jaymes wonders where Abbie & Ryan and Josh & Brent are at.

The park gates open at 9:30 AM. "We're off to see the wizard!" I don't know who said it.

Mad running to the clue box. Make your way to the Moskvoretsky Most and find a guard who will give the next clue.

It's 25 minutes by walking. Chips, Trey & Lexi and twins all decide to walk it. Jaymes & James got a taxi, and they arrive first. They get the first clue. Detour: Synchronized or Alphabetize.

Alphabetized: They have to select 4 books from a list and search for a card that lists the book's location. Then they have to find the books. It's all in Russian.

Synchronized: Synchronized swimming with the next generation of Russian Olympic swimmers. They have to learn a routine.

Rockers pick library. Trey & Lexi pick library. Chips and twins pick swimming. Nobody wants to give the twins a ride. "It's because we're brown."

The rockers get the list and they start trying to find the cards. "I'd rather drown."

The Chips arrive at the swimming pool. The Chips change into the speedo. They have to wear floral swimming caps. They have their cuffs on, but they have to take it off. "A little showgirl action." They start learning the routine. They have to do 8 counts. Jaymes says they can do 8 counts. The routine gets complicated in the water. Their instructor laughs at them. There are spins and stuff.

Natalie & Nadiya say they have an hour deficit. They still have their EP.

Jaymes & James decide to go for the routine. This is really funny to watch. The editing highlights their errors. Close-up too. On their fourth attempt, they're close to finishing the routine but James flips out of sync.

Back at the library, James & Abba are still struggling finding the cards. Trey & Lexi arrive at they're confused as well.

Back at Warsaw airport, Josh & Brent and Abbie & Ryan discuss their huge time gap.

Trey & Lexi were basically looking at shapes. They find one card. James & Abba switch detour. Natalie & Nadiya arrive at the swimming pool.

It seems like the twins are going to use their Express Pass. Both Detour tasks are difficult to understand without any language other than Russian and head moving.

Trey & Lexi continue looking for cards. They find all their cards. Now they begin looking for their books... If they picked the wrong information, then they're screwed. There are bookcases after bookcases after bookcases. They find their first book.

Natalie & Nadiya try doing the routine. Their routine does not get approved. They don't understand any of the instructions because the swimmers and coach are speaking in Russian. They wonder if they should use the Express Pass...

And we're back. Their instructor asks them to try it once again (in Russian). They choose to use the Express Pass. Jaymes & James tell them not to waste it because they're at the front. Natalie & Nadiya decide not to quit.

Trey & Lexi get their four books, and the library dramatically checks each book. All their books are approved, and they're out of the detour in 1st. Proceed by taxi to The Luzhkov Most and find the "Trees of Love." Lexi likes that.

The Chips try the routine another time. Their coach is counting. Natalie & Nadiya watch the Chips do their routine. The Chips complete the detour and they're out in 2nd. Chips encourage the twins.

Trey & Lexi get the roadblock clue.

Roadblock: Unlock Trees of Love. Find a key that unlocks each of the locks with a race flag on it. Then there's a ribbon that has their next clue. There are keys on some of the locks after. Trey does the roadblock. Lexi says that there are people who look like they're going to weddings.

Abbie & Ryan and Josh & Brent decide that they want to race together. They shake on it.

Chips arrive at the roadblock. James decides to do it.

Trey has 1/10 locks done. 2/10. After all the locks are unlocked, a ribbon will be released with their next clue.

The twins finish the detour in 3rd.

James: 1/10.
Trey: 5/10. 6/10.

James & Abba arrive at the detour. The coach says she's already afraid.

Trey finishes unlocking all the locks. Their clue is money with a building. The pit stop: The Bolshoi Theatre. Trey & Lexi get a taxi.

Twins arrive at the roadblock. Natalie is doing the roadblock.

James: 7/10

James & Abba's routine does not get approved.

Trey & Lexi arrive at the pit stop. A male playing an accordion (?) greets them. They are team #1 again! They won a trip to Maui. Phil asks them how in love they are on a scale of 1-10. Lexi says 1000. The accordion player plays a bit and Trey & Lexi dance.

James finishes unlocking all the locks and they're off to the pit stop!

Nadiya and Natalie have some twin bickering.

Josh & Brent and Abbie & Ryan travel together.

Josh & Brent and Abbie & Ryan get their clue to the park.

James & Abba are still working on synchronized swimming.

Josh & Brent and Abbie & Ryan both decide to do library... but the library closes at 4. They have to do swimming. This is actually so cute.

James & Abba's routine gets approved. They're out of the detour in 4th.

Natalie finishes the roadblock. They fight but they make up like little kids?

Abbie used to be a dance instructor so she wasn't worried. Josh & Brent dreaded this challenge.

Natalie & Nadiya are team #3. They don't think it's good. They say they can use their EP next leg to get first.

Pit Stop:
1st: Trey & Lexi

3rd: Natalie & Nadiya

James & Abba arrive at the trees. They left their stuff in the taxi... They got caught up in the challenge and their cab driver left. They lost all of their stuff.

And we are back. James continues to do the roadblock. They hope their taxi driver is just doing a loop or something. James finishes the roadblock, but they need their stuff. James doesn't have his passport. They decide to go to the pit stop anyway.

Abbie & Ryan do the routine. They felt a burst of energy. They get approved. Lots of clapping for them. They're out of the detour in 5th. They decide to stay and watch for Josh & Brent because they decided to work together.

"He's like a buoy!" The coach is quite mean. Josh & Brent's routine doesn't get approved. They go for attempt #2. Brent is struggling because he swallows the water. "We're farmers, not synchronized swimmers." omg the coach is actually just so mean. Abbie & Ryan wait for them.

James & Abba are team #4, but they need their passports. They cannot check in. Phil says they need to produce the passports.

The rockers search for their passport. James (of the Chips) feels the pressure. He's doing some sort of routine in a military outfit? He's sweating a lot. Ryan is put to the test. He's writing something with a pencil and paper, and there's a studious-looking guy (clue-giver?) who keeps rejecting him? Seems like the roadblock.

The detour, both sides of it, were hilarious. The swim coach was excellent as a judge, she did seem to be very consistent about what she would accept.

Having to use the Cyrillic alphabet to do that task was a real b****. I was familiar with that as I took one course in Russian one summer, and that would have been enough not to be so intimidated by it. But I will say, Trey and Lexi did a really good job figuring out how to use the old-fashioned card catalog to work the task, even though they did not know what sounds most of the Cyrillic alphabet represented, and the order of letters in that alphabet. Trey also did a really good job figuring out that roadblock as well, figuring out what kind of lock might be right for the keys on the key chain.

Well it was pretty obvious by two thirds through this that it had to be a continuing leg of some sort, either that or they hardly showed any of the two last placed teams doing tasks.  So it was a bit of a surpise when Phil didn't tell the leading team to carry on.  Still a continuing leg of sorts though I suppose.

The detour was good.  I expected though that the judge would be quite lenient with the synchronized swimming (just like the Bollywood dance in the last season).  The library task looked the easier one to do, and actually on the side of one of the filing cabinets did appear to be the Russian alphabet in alphabetical order, but I'm not sure either team noticed it.  That was the whole of the leg though, the locks in the tree wasn't really that big a deal.

Taxis again having a big role to play here, going off with a team's belongings.  It's hardly the first time a taxi has left without waiting for a team but I don't remember them doing it while having a team's backpacks with them.  I never like taxis deciding the race.

As for the plane drama it was nice not to see them all on the same plane for once even if two teams got left behind.  I understood them deciding to keep with each other, that is up until they waited for a team to complete a detour.  I didn't get that at all, it's a race.  I thought they meant they would just go to the cluebox and choose the same detour together not that they would wait for each other to complete a task, as that makes no sense.

Overall I liked Lexi a bit more this episode, no loud annoying 'yays!' that I remember.  Trey is still boring.  Abi and Ryan though obviously meant to be the baddies are probably one of the few interesting team dynamics in this race.  The other teams I'm not sure I care about that much right now.  Funniest moment though was probably when Phil shouted out very happily 'you're team number 3!!!' to the twins and their response was so downbeat, or them sniping at each other at the tree.

My definition of a NEL (which may be different from the World Race Productions' definition) is different from a TBC. The TBC for leg 7 is executed with no elimination at the Bolshoi Theater pit stop. Once that happens, if you count the remaining legs before the finale you get 4 and if you count the teams to be eliminated that's 3. That means there can be only one more NEL for the remainder of the race. It's possible that it occurs in Moscow 2, but I consider that very unlikely.

The question of how the "skill" routines are judged for obviously inept teams is an interesting one. Mark's Bollywood dance routine in Tanzania was not getting better. It was getting worse. I believe that someone on the World Race Productions' production staff makes the decisions and somehow communicates them to the individual doing the pass/fail scoring. I suspect that the same thing happened with multiple teams against the Chinese ping pong champion. That champion could serve at any level they wished to and easily won every point for a long time if they anted to. For the later-arriving teams she elected to give them a break. That may have been production-mandated.

The same thing came up last night. It did not appear that James/Abba had really passed. They were given a mercy pass at some point.

After 21 seasons, if a teams still lose their passport... they honestly deserve it. -_-
