Looks like we go here:     Luzhkov Bridge (Лужков мост) Bridge of Padlocks on Vodootvony Canal, Moscow

Julia Pelish
Quote
The Luzhkov bridge (the official name – Tretjakovskiy) in Moscow is a pedestrian walkway that spans the Vodootvodny Canal. Dotting the bridge are iron trees cloaked in padlocks bestowed by newlyweds. It has become a Moscovite wedding tradition to clasp a padlock inscribed with ones wedding date and initials onto these trees thereby symbolically locking their union with the toss of the key into the canal below.

So is there where we get a flash back to one of the previous challenges? Race 6 leg 11?

I don't think so since it was explicitly listed in the first press release as being in the Netherlands.

S6 had so many difficult challenges now that I think of it

Beat ya to it Chateau  ;)

Thanks to yykris,A cluebox spotted in Moscow

A girl found a young M/F team doing a task about unlock(pretty look like RB in Xi'An leg,S6)...and later she saw a middle-aged M/M team arriving
Never really looked into this  :(
The only famous place in Moscow where this could take place is a bridge on the Vodootvodny Canal
These 'iron trees' are layered with love padlocks, just like the location in TAR6 in Xi'an
Here's a photo of one of the trees in Moscow http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Moscow-love-padlocks.jpg
^ Notice the tiles formation in the above link is the same as in the photo of the spotted clue box, but that could just be a coincidence...

Bringing this back up again

Now this could be the DUMBEST theory ever, but listen up.
weihen told us that the source said it looked like the TAR6 RB in Xi’an but it was in Moscow, Russia
This could be just me, but I think that is definitely one of the most infamous Roadblocks in TAR history.

My point is, do you think it’s possible that the ‘infamous switchback in the Netherlands’ could be a dodgy CBS misprint and is supposed to be ‘infamous switchback in Russia’?

Also, the press release did not say whether this switchback Roadblock previously took place in the Netherlands last time it appeared CMIIW
So it could be an RB from any country but it’s re-appearing in the Netherlands

IDK, just putting this out there because I don’t think any of the RBs we’ve had in the Netherlands are infamous nor memorable, except TAR12’s, I remember watching that :lol3:

2 is Saint Basil's Cathedral in Red Square
3 is Cathedral of Christ the Saviour
4-15 are Frankfurt Airport; Josh/Brent and Abbie/Ryan stranded and trying to get an earlier connected flight to Moscow.

The flight that they missed was SU 2305 to SVO which left at 10:35 pm on June 7th.

The next one out is LH 1444 to DME at 7:35 am on June 8th.

So can we assume that there's an Hour of Operation or some sort of it by the time the first flight touch down in Moscow?

The two Teams in FRA probably got there via

TK 1597 leaving IST 7:25 pm/8:32 pm, arriving FRA 9:35 pm/10:28 pm

Which was supposed to get there at 9:35 pm but was 49 minutes late and landed at 10:28 pm.  They had a 1 hour connection with SU 2305 which left at 10:47 pm (10:35 pm scheduled departure).   Nineteen minutes is not enough time to make a connection even if you are on the Amazing Race.

The question is:  why did they get on that flight?  It was  delayed at the start in Istanbul by an hour and 7 minutes  :ascared

So the plan that they had was

TK 1597 leaving IST 7:25 pm, arriving FRA 9:35 pm
SU 2305 leaving FRA 10:35 pm, arriving SVO 3:40 am (June 8th)

But what they will have to do is

TK 1597 leaving IST 7:25 pm, arriving FRA 9:35 pm
LH 1444 leaving FRA 7:35 am, arriving DME 12:45 pm (June 8th)

The other teams may be using this (on June 8th) to get to Moscow:

SU 2135 leaving IST 1:55 am, arriving SVO 5:45 am

Perhaps this flight was sold out:  (because it beats the above options)

TK 419 leaving IST 11:10 pm, arriving VKO 3:00 am (June 8th)

Looks like they were trying to get a 2 hour head start on the ground in Moscow and it backfired.
