Are they doing a leg in Christchurch or going from Christchurch to somewhere else?

Anyone live in Christchurch or nearby?

So far The Alabama Mullet and the Blonde girls are confirmed safe.

Very likely THEY WILL STAY in Christchurch as Auckland would have made much better connections to AUS at the time they ARE there.

Of course PHIL would want a leg in his hometown, particularly to update the earthquake status. Hoping to see John!! :flirt:

Hopefully it's Melb, then I have the chance to see them again!!!!!!

RFF's own on the ground team will be here later to fill us all in!  :hearts:

In the meantime, thanks to KIWI

teams are on the 730 PM flight to Christchurch and will be heading to what sounds like a bungy jump location tonight.

And sadly: The father/son team has had an accident. The father has ruptured his achilles tendon and is in a moon boot. :'(

I love RFF with all my heart. I just want to thank everyone that helps to contribute to spoiling the season for us. Whether it be finding pictures, tweets, locations, etc.

Sorry to hear about the Father/Son team. Curious to see who is still in the race.

Since we do have a team on the ground I do assume we will likely get a list of teams arriving in order. Is it possible to hide the results under spoiler tags? Many of us do not like team placement spoilers.

Waiau Ferry Bridge - Bridge Jumping
Christchurch Pier - Vertical Bungee Rocket
Bridge Jumping - Mount Hutt ski field

Are possible bungee sites in Christchurch

http://traveltips.usatoday.com/bungee-jumping-christchurch-new-zealand-54994.html

Lol I am with you on this one.

When the race started I was curious to see who the teams were and if any were semi-famous or from other reality tv shows. Then i was curious to see where they were heading next. Now we have pictures of teams after a leg or 2 have gone by and I am curious as to if my pre-season fave teams are still in it. *crossing my fingers*

I am going to have to pry myself off of the website once i find out :P

No, in general not. This is a spoiler board, read at your own risk. However, this was an airport sighting...

Leafsfan, my attitude about placement "spoilers" are that usually they're partial and not total, and even then, we rarely if ever know why it happened, so there's always some mystery to be answered until the leg airs.

Peach, which team are you referring to as the "father-son" team? I don't see it in the team spoiler thread or the timeline thread.

I think Peach is talking about them?

a pure spec of one of the tasks could probably involved some of those "give back" to community thing, like help to build the city, renovate, donation, or else a sympathy letters or something  :)

From this tweet, if true, they must have been in a much earlier flight than 7:30 PM:

It is Sun Nov 18 1:30am Atlanta & 7:30pm Christchurch.

We'll get some clarification later. We know exactly when they arrived in Auckland, perhaps 730 refers to their arr time in CHC and not the dep time? Just wait...

Ahhh, but Phil could have easily been almost a day ahead of the teams? See Neobie's info in the transport thread, that's where flight info mostly goes.

Oh I do, and videos. And a story to tell, and some reveals of team names. As well as Papa and Son having Papa in a moon boot, having ruptured his achilles tendon in Bora Bora and can hardly walk poor man, I spoke with him.

That sounds SO cool! You're very lucky! I can't wait to hear all about it! I'll be on all night in case you decide to tell us more ;)

That sucks that PaPa has had a serious injury :'( I'm hoping his son will help him power through the race!

Sadly, this seems unlikely, especially 'from what I was told'. Looks like they'll be jetsetting off soon :'(

You are so lucky! And thanks for all the great info! Since you got to see the teams up close and personal, did Winnie and Cam look like they could be Asian to you? Just curious since people can't seem to figure it out. And what about the F/F red team? Could they be Latinas?
I like to root for ethnic teams as they can be a rarity!
