Amazing Race: New Zealand?
« on: January 13, 2013, 08:17:34 PM »
So I'm a huge fan of the Amazing Race, I enjoyed the Australian version and am thrilled for the Canadians that they get their own version but my question is would a New Zealand version work? Who would host it if Phil couldn't or didn't want to host the New Zealand version? What kind of route would we see?

PS. Apologies if this is in the wrong section!

Hmm , i think this should be in the TAR : International Versions thread . But good topic , though!

I think that , IF the budget is good , we could see a worldwide route!
Oh my gravy , Jet and Cord are still the best!

I'd personally love it if Phil wanted to host it! It wouldn't be anything new for him but since he's a New Zealander as well I'm sure he'd love to work with more kiwis on the Race! If he didn't want to do it I'd like Jason Gunn to host it perhaps.

I wouldn't be surprised if they just add a NZ team on the Australian Version (sort of like what My Kitchen Rules did)
Fantasy Games
SurvivorK: Cameron- Brandon - Juror #5 (5th place)

Neither would I, I'd hope for more than one NZ team to be cast though.

Any thoughts on a possible route that could be used?

I don't think Amazing Race NZL is viable at this point.

What makes you say that?

Australian ratings were slightly under a million and for a country about a htird the size it will be difficult to get that many viewers and a budget.

I don't know the actual number of viewers in Norway, but the population is less than 5 millions and they are in postproduction of season  2  :wohoo:
Why can't I pick the winning team?

Well New Zealand has just had a really succesful run of New Zealand's got Talent. I'd say that the kiwi's could give it a go if it's backed by the right people.
