ABC press release:

FAN FAVORITE SEAN LOWE SEARCHES FOR LOVE AGAIN ON ABC'S HIT ROMANCE REALITY SERIES, "THE BACHELOR," WHEN IT RETURNS TO ABC IN JANUARY 2013

An Unprecedented Response from Women Clamoring to Date Sean on the Show
Leads to the Consensus -- He is a Catch!

Get a First Look at "The Bachelor" Season 17 Women at ABC.com
(http://abc.go.com/shows/the-bachelor/photo-details/the-bachelorettes/1019280)

A heavy sigh went out from millions of viewers as they shared Sean Lowe's heartbreak when Emily Maynard - who all season long called him the "perfect man" -- made him the last bachelor eliminated before the finale of the eighth edition of "The Bachelorette." It completely blindsided Sean, who finally had been able to admit to Emily that he was in love with her. Now, after falling for Emily, Sean knows the time is right for him to make the ultimate commitment to the right woman and to start his own family, as he stars in the next edition of ABC's hit romance reality series, "The Bachelor," when it returns to ABC for its 17th season in January 2013.

For a sneak peek at the women for the upcoming season, go to ABC.com (http://abc.go.com/shows/the-bachelor/photo-details/the-bachelorettes/1019280). Photos will also be available on abcmedianet.com. More information on the women will be released closer to premiere.

Sean, 28, a successful Dallas businessman and entrepreneur, totally charmed Bachelor Nation when he pranked Emily on his hometown date, fooling her into thinking initially that he still lived at home with his parents. Having fallen in love on "The Bachelorette," this sincere, reliable all-American guy is confident that he will find his soul mate and a lasting, love-filled relationship this time on "The Bachelor."

A real romantic, Sean loves to make a woman feel special and, as a life-long Texan, holds Southern values close to his heart. He wants to propose once, be married once and live a faithful family life, like his parents, who have had a loving 35-year union. Sean has a clear vision of what his life would be like with that one special woman. He wants to be the patriarch of a family that is centered on faith, love and laughter. He is eager to be a supportive husband who will encourage his wife to chase her dreams, as well as be someone whom she can rely on to help her through good and bad times. Quite simply, he is looking for his best friend. Sean also wants a big family and would love to adopt a child, as well as have some of his own, as long as he can pass on the values he has taught his kids.

His close-knit family includes a sister, Shay, who was introduced to her husband by Sean. The two men were best friends on their college football team. Shay and her husband have two children, whom Sean adores.

The 6'3" bachelor went to Kansas State on a full football scholarship and, as a linebacker, was part of the 2003 Big 12 Conference Championship Team. Sean also received a Bachelor of Science degree in social science. Although he started off his career in finance, he followed in his father's footsteps in the insurance industry before committing to his new enterprise, owning and running an upscale, custom furniture business.

Sean has varied hobbies and interests, including camping, wakeboarding, dancing, outdoor activities, attending concerts and doing just about anything with his two dogs, Lola and Ellie.

Sean Lowe Is the New Bachelor

It's official: Sean Lowe is starring in the upcoming season of The Bachelor, ABC tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The Dallas businessman and entrepreneur won the hearts of fans across the country as he wooed North Carolina single mom Emily Maynard on The Bachelorette last season, landing in the final three. Maynard sent Lowe, the second runner-up, home as she'd fallen head over heels for Utah entrepreneur Jef Holm, accepting his marriage proposal.

"I was standing at that rose ceremony thinking I was going to marry her," Lowe told PEOPLE last July of the heartbreaking moment when Maynard sent him home.

Tuesday's announcement comes after months of speculation, with casting rumors ranging from former Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky's ex-fiancť Roberto Martinez to Olympian Ryan Lochte.

On the possibility of being the next Bachelor, Lowe told PEOPLE at the time, "I'm an open-minded optimist, and I believe the process can work. If I found my wife, it would be worth it."

Production is already underway for the 17th season of the reality dating show, which will begin airing in January 2013. For more information on the contestants this season, visit ABC.com.

Sean Lowe Makes His Bachelor DebutóWatch a Sneak Peek of the New Season

New season, same ridiculously addictive drama!

Former Bachelorette fan favorite Sean Lowe is set to take on the role every man dreams of on Jan. 7: ABC's new Bachelor! The network just released a brand-spankin'-new promo, which gives viewers a look at the "25 girls [who] will fall head over heels" (literally) for the Texas insurance salesman!

So what can you expect from The Bachelor's 17th season?

The last Bachelor's relationship did not work out that well

While the show always seems to court some crazy contestants each season, Lowe's batch looks to be a little nuttier than usual!

While one girl falls while trying to do a handstand ("Oh, are you OK?!" Sean asks while trying not to laugh), another comes out of the limo is a wedding dress. No, we're not kidding.

Still, we've saved the craziest surprise for last: A former contestant is returning to compete for Lowe's heart! "That girl could be trouble," he says. So who is it?

Sean Lowe Starts His Search for Love on ABC's THE BACHELOR, 1/7

Bachelor Nation was shocked when fan favorite Sean Lowe was left heartbroken on a beach in CuraÁao earlier this year. Deeply in love, the handsome and sincere Texan envisioned starting a family with Emily Maynard. But in what became one of the most shocking moments of the season, Emily blindsided Sean, rejecting him and sending his heartfelt dreams crashing down around him. He was devastated and alone then, but he has not given up on love. Sean is back as the Bachelor and ready to risk it all again for another chance at love. He begins the search for his soul mate, choosing from among 26 beautiful bachelorettes, when the 17th edition of “The Bachelor” premieres MONDAY, JANUARY 7, 2013 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET) , on ABC.

In “Episode 1701,” Sean kicks off his journey – not by meeting beautiful bachelorettes, but by meeting with a friend -- someone who was also left heartbroken by Emily -- Arie Lukendyk, Jr. The handsome race driver offers his support as well as some hilarious, if questionable advice.

Arriving at the mansion for the first cocktail party, Sean is nervous, but seeing how excited the women are to meet him calms him down. These amazing women all make unique and lasting impressions, including a beautiful make-up artist who marks her territory with a kiss on Sean’s cheek. A gorgeous engineer back flips out of the limousine – only to fall, unceremoniously, on her behind. A lovely cruise ship singer serenades Sean with an original song about their future love. ?A sexy hairdresser shocks Sean when she admits she’s obsessed with the book Fifty Shades of Grey. A beauty dressed as a blushing bride steals the first real kiss of the night. However, Sean is so taken with one voluptuous woman, he decides to break the rules and offers her the first rose, to the dismay of the rest of the shocked and jealous women. But the last limo holds a real surprise: One additional guest shows up and changes the game. The competition shifts into high gear.

The women are confused and concerned when Sean gives another early rose to an enchanting wedding gown designer. When yet another bachelorette returns with a rose, the others realize that all the rules are out the window; if Sean feels a connection with one of them, she will get a rose right then and there. However not all the women are lucky enough to receive an early rose, and they wonder how best to impress him. One vulnerable woman reaches out to the Bachelor with honesty and sincerity. Another comes on strong, while still another repeatedly tries to steal his attention. Twelve women head into the rose ceremony with roses safely in hand. Sean, acknowledging how difficult it is to send seven more home, selects seven additional bachelorettes at the rose ceremony. Nineteen women will continue on with him in the search to find love.

A list of the bachelorettes will be released shortly.

Romantic and adventurous dates will reach new heights this season, testing the ladies’ perseverance in pursuing their romantic objective, along with fun, exciting and exotic dates that will elicit real and raw passions. For the first group date, 13 women compete in a photo shoot, with the winner getting a cover deal for Harlequin romance novels. On a one-on-one date to an art gallery opening with priceless art, Sean plays a huge prank on the woman. One bachelorette’s date with Sean gives them a chance to break a world record for the longest on-screen kiss. The Bachelor gets to see another side of one bachelorette when he takes her on a date to Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California, and surprises her by sharing the park with two chronically ill teenagers and showcasing a special performance by country music’s Eli Young Band. Sean takes another woman on a private jet ride to Joshua Tree National Park, but will she decide to go on the rock climb? Eight women join Sean for a challenging rock’em sock’em roller derby match. One lucky bachelorette gets a Rodeo Drive shopping spree ŗ la “Pretty Woman,” and the couple is treated to a VIP private concert from folk-rock-pop artist Ben Taylor, the son of legendary folk rock legends James Taylor and Carly Simon. Beautiful Whitefish, Montana is the backdrop for a traditional farm-style relay race, including canoeing, hay bucking and goat milking. A romantic ice castle plays an important part in a sensual individual date in Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada, and country pop singer Sarah Darling serenades Sean and another bachelorette. However, when a group of women take part in a polar bear plunge in an icy cold lake, the medics are kept busy. Finally, after spending passionate weeks traveling to a variety of locations, Sean brings his final three women to Thailand for a dramatic change of scenery for the exotic dates and the finale. Will he miss his chance for a happy ending again?

As in the past, women will continue to be eliminated each week, but if at any point a woman should decide that she’s no longer interested in the Bachelor, she can reject his invitation to continue dating. Some lucky women will meet his family, and he will visit their hometowns for a slice of their lives in an effort to determine the woman with whom he is most compatible.

Hosted by CHRIS HARRISON, “The Bachelor” is a production of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss and Martin Hilton are the executive producers. “The Bachelor” is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with stereo sound. A parental guideline will be assigned closer to the airdate.

The 25 Bachelorettes Who Look to Capture the Sexy Entrepreneur's Heart Are Revealed

One Additional Mystery Woman Will Be Revealed on the Premiere

What do an aspiring wedding dress designer, a former cheerleader with some over the top acrobatics, a sexy, fun-loving woman who is obsessed with a red hot bestseller about bondage and a beautiful blonde who, although she was born with one-arm, has more than enough heart and self confidence to win Sean's heart, all have in common? They all have their sights set on moving to Dallas with the Bachelor, Sean Lowe, when the 17th edition of ABC's popular romance reality series, "The Bachelor," premieres MONDAY, JANUARY 7 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Sean, 28, the handsome business entrepreneur from Dallas, meets 26 potential soul mates as he begins his exciting search for true love. In the premiere, "Episode 1701," Sean prepares for the night of his life as the 26 beautiful bachelorettes, all clamoring to meet him, begin to arrive.

Jackie, a beautiful makeup artist, makes sure Sean will remember her, kissing him emphatically on the cheek. Robyn, an oil field account manager and former cheerleader, falls for the Bachelor right from the start, back flipping out of the limo -- but tumbles right on her rear. Kelly, the attractive cruise ship singer, looks to her possible future with Sean and croons an original love song to him. Sexy Ashley P. stuns the Bachelor with her in depth knowledge of the bestselling novel, Fifty Shades of Grey, while pulling a tie out of her cleavage. 'Bachelor': First look at Sean Lowe and his 26 'ladies' -- EXCLUSIVE PHOTO
by Jessica Shaw

After Emily and Jef imploded, youíd understand if Chris Harrison was starting to lose faith in his own TV show. But quite the contrary! Heís positively giddy about new Bachelor Sean Lowe, whose quest for ďloveĒ begins on Jan. 7. ďHeís a phenomenal guy,Ē Harrison says. ďGorgeous guy and super grounded. Heís that diamond in the rough, the guy from middle America you otherwise might not know about.Ē

Yeah, yeah, enough about the guy. We care about the ladies, and here is an exclusive first look at all 25 of themÖ uh, make that 26, including the secret bachelorette who will be revealed during the season premiere.

No, speculators, itís not Dancing With the StarsĎ Cheryl Burke, whoís been lobbying hard to become a rose hander-outer. But we can confirm that the face you see blurred out is actually someone who fans will recognize ó and maybe even be okay with! ďShe was a contestant from a prior season that met Sean and was desperate to pursue a relationship with him,Ē Harrison says.

*********************************************

Chris Harrison's ones to watch...

Tierra, 24
Leasing consultant

Tierra makes a huge first impression on Sean right out of the limo. But the big thing with the person who makes that first impression is how they deal with it afterwards. You get that immediate attention and you think it's going to be a cakewalk, but you quickly realize 'Oh, crud, there are all of these other women to compete with.'

Sarah, 26
Advertising executive

Sarah is a beautiful, confident blond girl who was born with one arm, which is a first for us. She's not insecure about it, but it's more about everybody else getting used to it. She's the girl next door you can see Sean falling for. He doesn't just like the little country girls who are quiet and shy. She has a huge heart, and she's really sweet, but she's not so sweet that all the girls hate her.

Desiree, 26
Bridal stylist

Sean and Desiree have a pretty funny connection. Desiree is an aspiring wedding dress designer, and obviously she's never had a chance to stitch her own gown. But she's not that crazy bride-to-be. She likens herself to a guy's girl - she can throw a football like nobody else. He likes that she has a feminine side but she loves to talk sports.

Robyn, 24
Oil field account manager

Robyn is a former cheerleader who will literally be the first person to fall for Sean. It happens immediately. The limo arrives; she's falling. She's a beautiful girl, and Sean is definitely interested in her. It's not that he doesn't love the attention and those strong emotions, but there is drama an catfighting. The other girls realize they have to play their emotions closer to the vest and be smarter about what they show.

Ashley P., 28
Hairstylist

Right out of the limo Ashley says she's learned a few things from a certain best selling book, Fifty Shades of Grey. At first, you'll see his face like 'Huh?' but then she pulls out this blue-colored tie and he gets the reference. Ashley is also that girl on night 1 who may have had a little too much fun. She's in the moment and the night gets the best of her. She's a strong personality, and it all comes out - lukily for her, it doesn't all come up.

'Bachelor' Sean Lowe promises 'drama and a little cattiness' this season

During the last installment of "The Bachelorette," earnest Texas Sean Lowe seemed like a shoe-in to win the girl. His down home attitude, wholesome good looks and family focus seemed just right for single mom Emily Maynard. Alas, he got his heart handed back to him and now he returns to the ultimate group date as the newest star of "The Bachelor" on Mon. Jan. 7 at 8:00 p.m. In a conference call with journalists, Lowe talked about taking a second shot at love on national television, the drawbacks of a house full of estrogen, and why he doesn't care if he sees another rose again for as long as he lives.

Even though Maynard is back on the market (she split with the bachelor she chose, Jef Holm, before they could walk down the aisle), Lowe never considered trying to pick up where they left off. "I heard about their split at our final destination [of 'The Bachelor'], but I think even before we did 'The Bachelor' I knew she wasn't the one for me." Not that he has any animosity toward the woman who shot him down on national television. "Jef's a good guyÖ and I hope for happiness for her in her future." He added that watching her relationships with finalists Jef and Arie play out on television helped him get over her more quickly than he might have otherwise. "I realized over time she's not the one for me, and I knew she had her doubts about me. The woman I spend the rest of my life with, I don't want her to have any doubts."

It seems he may have gotten a good idea of who's right for him on "The Bachelor." "The producers did an excellent job [of casting]," he said. "I told them I wanted girls who were well suited for me, and I got to know [the producers] really well while I was on 'The Bachelorette' and they got a good sense of who I am, but I was blown away by the amount of wonderful women [they found]. Smart, accomplished, funnyÖ I get to a point [on the show] where I have so many wonderful women, I don't know what I'm going to do." Though of course he can't say if he came away from the experience with a fiancee, he does say, "I had no idea I would become so attached and so emotionally invested in multiple women. I'd heard about that happening on past seasons from people who'd done the show, but I thought that would be so hard to [find love]. But it can happen, and it did happen."

If you're wondering, Lowe did have a checklist for what he was looking for in the perfect girl. "First, I really wanted to find my best friend, someone I can see myself spending every day withÖ I was looking for someone who is smart. A woman's intellect is probably the sexiest thing for me. So, funny, a good heart, and possessing all the characteristics you want in a wife." But don't look for Emily look-alikes. "If they're expecting me to follow a certain type of woman, they'll be disappointed."

Lowe says that, despite the show having a pretty lousy track record for creating lasting relationships, he was never deterred. "I've never paid attention to the track record for past relationships. I knew my feelings were very real and genuine for Emily, so I thought I'd give it [another] try." Even though Lowe said he went into "The Bachelor" with an open mind, he admitted, "I'm not going to propose to anyone if I have any doubts. If I have any doubts at all, there's no pressures to propose. I can continue our relationship in the real world, or I can say no to both the final two women."

He struck out on "The Bachelorette," but says the experience showed him he could find love on a television show. "My feelings for Emily were very real, and most of the people who watched the show could definitely recognize that," he said. "[But] I wouldn't have accepted 'The Bachelor' unless my heart was definitely mended. Fresh start is a great way to put it." He did say that he took "a week" to make the decision to do "The Bachelor," though. "I talked to the family and I prayed about it. I am in a situation where I wand to find the love of my life, and, as crazy as it sounds, I think you can find that on 'The Bachelor.'"

That doesn't mean he went strictly by the book on the show. "I've never been one to conform to the rules, so you'll see me break quite a few rules this season." Although he got a reputation as a prankster on "The Bachelorette," he said, "I think I'm funny, but I'm not a prankster. But you'll see a prank or two this season because I think people have come to expect that from me nowÖ With Emily, everything they aired had me being a little more seriousÖ because Emily is very proper. This season they'll see me a lot more relaxed and goofy, so to speak. You're not going to see all serious conversations."

One thing you may not see is the suggestion of sex on the "sleepover" dates. Though Lowe would neither confirm nor deny rumors that he's a "born again virgin," he did say that he saw those dates with the final three women as an opportunity to bond more than anything else. "I wanted to use it as time to spend alone, together, off camera. I think it's valuable time I didn't want to bypass, and it's an optimal opportunity to get to know those women better."

Given that Maynard was a single mom, Lowe addressed the topic of children. One contestant on the show is a single mom, though he said. "That's not a deal breaker for me at all. With Emily, I said it almost made her more attractive to me because I saw the love she had for her daughter in her eyes, and that's what I'd like to see in the woman I marry." Not that he's in a rush to reproduce. "Of course I want a family. I value family very much. But I can take my time with having kids. Ideally, I'd like to take a couple of years before we start adding children to the family. But I would be prepared to take on that situation right now if I needed to."

One of the enduring elements of the show is cattiness amongst the women, and this year appears to be no different than anything. "There's gonna be drama and a little cattiness. I think that's inevitable when you have this much estrogen in a house. But I was pleasantly surprised to find these women put their hearts out there." Too much cattiness, however, was a turn-off. "It's almost inevitable for it to happen, but it always irritated me when girls got caught up in the drama and lost focus on the reason we were all there. I just wanted them to focus on the relationship." And for those who complained about their fellow competitors to Lowe, he tried to keep an open mind about who was right and who was just crazy. "I went into it wanting to form my own opinions, but at the same time you can't ignore it when multiple women are saying bad things about a person. At the end of the day, I made the decision that was right for me."

If he did pick a lucky certain someone, though, she'd better get used to the idea she may not get a traditional bouquet from Lowe again anytime soon. "In my past I've given out some roses, and I'm going to give out a ton this season. But after this, I'd be happy if I didn't see another rose for the rest of my life."

Bachelor Sean Lowe teases rule-breaking, feelings for multiple women, and house drama (or, the usual!)

In a conference call with reporters today, Sean Lowe, the center of attention for the 17th season of ABCís The Bachelor, premiering Jan. 7, admitted he took a week to think about the offer when producers approached him. ďI talked with family, and I prayed about it, and at the end of the day, I knew that I am in a position where I want to find the love of my life, and as crazy as it sounds, I think that you can find that person on The Bachelor if the stars align,Ē he said. ďI just felt like I owed it to myself to give it a try.Ē He wouldnít, of course, say if he found that love, but hereís what he would tease:

ē He will break a few show rules. ĒIíve never been one to really conform to rules that are set, so youíre gonna see me break quite a few rules,Ē he said, with a laugh. ďI did The Bachelor for a specific reason ó it was to find the love of my life ó and I feel like there were certain points during the season where I couldnít follow the rules, I had to follow my heart.Ē

ē He will develop feelings for more than one woman. ďIíve always thought that would be so hard to do, but in this situation, it can happen and it did happen,Ē he said. ďI was blown away by just the amount of wonderful women that we had this season ó smart, well-accomplished, funny. I think youíll see that causes internal problems for me as the season progresses, because I get to the point where I think wow, Iíve got so many wonderful women, I donít know what Iím gonna do, I donít know how Iím gonna sort this outÖ. Youíre gonna see them develop really strong feelings for me, and itís good and bad for me, because I started to develop strong feelings for them as well.Ē

ē The woman who gets the first rose sticks around. ĒI donít think that we called it a Ďfirst impression rose,í but there was definitely one girl in the first episode that catches my eye, and she does receive the very first rose. Youíll see that that first feeling and those initial sparks, theyíre gonna play out over several episodes, and itís gonna be an interesting relationship,Ē he said.

ē He will take advantage of the fantasy suite. ďI wanted to use it as time to spend together alone, off-camera, uninterrupted. Thatís the approach that youíre gonna see me take this year. I think itís valuable time, and a time that I didnít want to bypass. Itís an optimum opportunity to get to know those three women a lot better.Ē

ē There is at least one woman many of the others donít like. ďOne of the things that I had to learn as the Bachelor [was] sometimes it takes weeks to see who a woman really is. That first impression is not always accurate,Ē he said. ďItís tricky, because you hear women say certain things about certain women, and I would think to myself, Well, I havenít seen that, so Iím gonna make my own judgment and draw my own conclusions. But then I would hear multiple women talk about that same woman, and then you start to think, Well, maybe there is something there and you have to investigate.Ē

ē The familiar face who returns to join the new ones vying for Sean is lucky she joined the other ladies from the start. ďI think America will be surprised to see who it is. I know I was certainly shocked when she stepped out of the limo on the first night,Ē he said. ĒIím glad she did come the first night. I probably would have done the same thing Ben did, just so I wouldnít infuriate the other women that had been there the first several weeks.Ē

ē Heís not always serious.ďI think that people will see my personality shine through a little bit more. With Emily, it seems like everything they aired had me being a little bit more serious ó outside of the prank. I think maybe part of that was because Emilyís very proper, and sheís this Southern lady. But I think this season, people are gonna see my sense of humor shine through, and theyíre gonna see me a lot more relaxed and goofy, so to speak.Ē

Sean Lowe: I now understand how you can fall for multiple 'The Bachelor' bachelorettes

By Elizabeth Kwiatkowski, 12/12/2012

Sean Lowe's The Bachelorette experience came to a heartbreaking end when Bachelorette Emily Maynard rejected him in favor of Arie Luyendyk Jr. and winner Jef Holm during this summer's finale of the eighth season of the ABC reality dating series.

However, The Bachelorette bachelor received a second shot at finding love on television when The Bachelor producers selected him to serve as the star of the show's seventeenth edition, which filmed this fall and will premiere Monday, January 7 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.

During a Wednesday conference call with reporters, Sean, a 28-year-old business entrepreneur from Dallas, TX, talked to Reality TV World about his The Bachelor experience.

Below is what Sean had to tell Reality TV World. Check back with us for the remaining portion of Sean's call.

Reality TV World: Did you find love during your season on The Bachelor? Did you walk away with a fiancee?

Sean Lowe: Well, you know I can't tell you that, but I had really no idea that I would become so attached and emotionally invested into multiple women. I've heard in seasons past it's possible to develop feelings for multiple women, and I've always thought, "That would be so hard to do." But in this situation, it can happen and it did happen. And I think you'll see those relationships play out as the season airs.

WorldReality TV : How did you convince yourself that the show's process was going to work for you when the odds aren't really in your favor considering The Bachelor's poor track record of long-lasting relationships? Why did you think it would be different for you?

Sean Lowe: Well you know, I've never paid attention to the track record of past relationships. For me, it came down to -- I realized that my feelings for Emily were very real and they were very authentic and genuine. And I just wanted to know if I could find those feelings again. Because I had such a positive experience with Emily, I thought I owed it to myself to give it a try!

Reality TV World: Would you say that your first impressions of a lot of the ladies were pretty accurate based on how they acted throughout the season or were you surprised about what you learned about some of them as time went on?

Sean Lowe: You know, this is one of the things that I had to learn as the Bachelor. Sometimes it takes weeks to see who a woman really is, and that first impression is not always accurate. It's tricky because you hear women say certain things about certain women, and I would think to myself, "Well, I haven't seen that. So I'm going to make my own judgment and draw my own conclusions."

But then, I would hear multiple women talking about the same woman, and then you start to think, "Well maybe there is something there." You have to investigate and you feel like you're being fooled at certain points. It's really tough. So no, the first impression is not always accurate.

Reality TV World: Most of the girls during Ben Flajnik's The Bachelor season really disliked Courtney Robertson and kept saying Ben would be foolish to pick her in the end. But Ben obviously did choose her and unfortunately the couple ended up splitting. Jake Pavelka experienced a similar situation with Vienna Girardi, who was kind of the villain in his season. So how much weight did you put on how the girls interacted with and got along with each other throughout the season when actually deciding who to keep around? Was that a big factor for you?

Sean Lowe: It was a factor, but it wasn't a huge factor, because like I said, I went into wanting to draw my own conclusions and form my own opinions. But at the same time, you can't ignore the fact that you have multiple women saying bad things about one particular person. So it weighed on me a little bit, but at the end of the day, I made the decision I felt like was best for me.

Reality TV World: Without you revealing whether you kept "the mystery girl" around, do you think the fact she arrived with all the rest of the girls the very first night impacted your decision differently than it might've if she had arrived mid-season like Shawntel Newton had during Ben's The Bachelor season? Because Ben chose to eliminate her right away as to not infuriate his bachelorettes who had been there and fought for him from the beginning.

Sean Lowe: Oh yeah, yeah. And I watched that episode and I felt sorry for Ben being put in that situation. So, I'm glad she did show up the first night and I probably would've done the same thing Ben did just so I wouldn't infuriate the other women that had been there for several weeks.

Reality TV World: You clearly had expectations and qualities you were looking for in your bachelorettes when filming began. But did those qualities and expectations actually change as the season went on?

Sean Lowe: The one thing that I was surprised [about] was I certainly do have just a few things that I look for... I want someone who's smart, funny and has a good heart. But the rest, I kind of said, "Surprise me." And I was definitely surprised this season.

There's so many girls that have so many really unique personalities and qualities. And I think if America's looking for me to kind of follow a type of woman, then they're going to be surprised, because there's all types of women that I start to develop relationships and feelings for.

Reality TV World: What were you thinking and feeling when the very first limo pulled up? What was going through your mind?

Sean Lowe: Oh my, it was such an anxious, exciting feeling. I really can't put it into words, but I had no idea who was going to sort of step out of the limo. And so, it was kind of scary but exciting and fun at the same time.

Above is what Sean had to tell Reality TV World. Check back with us for the remaining portion of Sean's conference call.

So Kacie B from Ben's season is the mystery girl. Gross. Like really. Would have preferred Courtney or anyone else to be honest.

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor' season premiere

by Chris Harrison

Let me start this season off by saying itís always good to be back. I always miss you guys as much as you miss the show. I didnít get a chance to put up a blog after Ashley and JPís wedding so before I dive into the new season of The Bachelor let me back up a bit and say just a few words. I was incredibly honored to be a part of that special day. The truth is that the odds of any relationship, on TV or off, making it all the way to the altar and ending in marriage are so small that itís something that should always be cherished and celebrated. When you add to that the fact that Ashley and JP are such good people and so fantastic together it should definitely be celebrated. One thing Iím always struck by during these Bachelor weddings is how damn fun they are. At the end of the day itís just a bunch of family and friends celebrating one of the great things life has to offer: true love. Speaking of true love, letís talk about Sean and his search for that very thing.

Iím glad the season started with an ample amount of Sean catching us up on his life and just enough of that came with his shirt off to let you know after his heartbreak with Emily he didnít go on a three-month ice cream and doughnut bender. Before Sean headed over to meet with me and the 25Ö I mean 26 women, he had a visit from his old friend, Arie. After watching these two Iíve decided thereís nothing more natural than for a couple of guys who got dumped by the same girl to sit around, have a cold one, and talk about kissing technique. After a quick lesson in love from Arie, it was time to get serious and meet the ladies, and thatís exactly what Sean did.

I never really know the best way to write about the hijinks on the wet driveway because you see it just as I do when Iím standing just off camera watching it go down live. So Iíll go over the, ummm, highlights from the arrivals on the first night. Sean was pretty nervous but I have to say the guy did great. Itís not very easy and he was pretty smooth and handled himself well. Kelly from Nashville was the female version of ďguy with guitar,Ē deciding to serenade Sean. Not sure itís much consolation for Kelly, who went home, but my 9-year-old daughter said she had a pretty voice. (Weíll discuss my parenting and the fact that I let my little girl watch the first episode with me later.) Ashley P. strolled out and seemed innocent enough until she pulled out the Fifty Shades of Grey tie and was ready for a little bondage. Weíll have more on Ashley P. in a bit. I felt bad for gymnast Robyn who probably could usually pull off those back handsprings any day of the week, but choked under the pressure and took a spill. The funny thing is that probably helped her stand out even more in Seanís mind. Paige from Bachelor Pad was back, andÖ then she wasnít again. I have to say I was a little surprised she didnít make a bigger impression on Sean and at least stay the first week. Sean is very wary of those that showed up just to be on TV and whether Paige was there for that reason or not, she definitely started behind the eight ball and never made up for that in Seanís mind.

NEXT PAGE: Sean goes rogue with the roses
Lindsay probably pulled the boldest stunt by showing up in a wedding dress. This move and Lindsayís personality really skirted that grey area with Sean. He has a great sense of humor but Lindsay almost pushed things too far. She did end up getting a rose, but if she expects a honeymoon any time soon she has some work to do. We surprised Sean with a special 26th bachelorette this season. We all know Kacie from Benís season and she pleaded for permission to come back to meet Sean. These two met before the show and apparently hit it off enough in Kacieís mind that she felt it was worth all sheíd have to go through to come back and fight for Seanís heart along with the other 25 women.

In the middle of the arrivals Sean decided he was so impressed with one of the ladies, Tierra, that he wanted to give her a rose. Turns out, that wouldnít even be close to the last rose Sean handed out before the rose ceremony. Sean apparently had decided it was time to shake things up a little bit on that first night and since heís The Bachelor, he can kind of do whatever he wants. If a conversation went really well and Sean felt a connection with a woman, he figured he didnít need to wait to let her know she was safe. Sean ended up handing out 12 roses before the rose ceremony. The only problem with this strategy was that in the minds of some of the ladies, everything became about the rose. All the women could talk or think about that night was getting a rose. So the entire time they were sitting there talking to Sean they were looking at that rose and wondering if they were going to get it and, if not, what that meant. I personally liked the change as it shook things up a bit and made for a very interesting first cocktail party.

Whether itís The Bachelor or The Bachelorette thereís always that one person who will probably not remember much of the first night, and when they see it theyíll regret most of it. This season Ashley P. was that person. I think Sean summed it up best when he said she was Fifty Shades of Drunk. Letís take the drinking out of it, and there are definitely some good lessons to take from her first conversations with Sean: First of all, she led with bondage. This is something maybe best saved for a second or third date. When the person youíre talking to references a rape whistle, this is a sign your conversation isnít going well and maybe you should dial it back a bit. Then she mentioned her mother and how she was going to marry him. Telling a person youíre destined to marry them and revealing that youíve discussed this with your mother before youíve even had a first date might be just a tad much. At that point that was strike 1 through 9, so she not only struck outÖ she struck out enough for an entire team.

Because Sean was so generous with the roses all night he only had seven to hand out at the actual rose ceremony. Admit it, weíve been gone so long you missed me coming out and saying, ďThis is the final rose tonight.Ē I know ó it feels so good to hear those words again. After the roses and a few tears, you got a great look at just how fantastic this season is going to be. As I said to the ladies that first night, Sean is as sincere a Bachelor as weíve ever had. Thatís obviously a good thing, as thatís what we all want, but it also means expectations are high. When you have all these ingredients youíre bound to have an explosive season. Iím so happy to be back and I look forward to watching with you each week as Sean tries to navigate his way to finding the woman of his dreams.

Before I wrap things up, I want to let you know for the third year in a row Iíll be hosting the Miss America pageant, which will air live from Las Vegas this Saturday at 9 p.m. on ABC. I always look forward to hosting this event. Itís a wild ride and I hope youíll be there to join me crown the new Miss America. In the meantime, you can always find me on Twitter and Instagram @chrisbharrison

FIERCE EMOTIONS EXPLODE WHEN THE WOMEN CONFRONT THEIR FEARS,
THEIR JEALOUSY AND ONE DECEPTIVELY CHARMING WOMAN AS THEY
BATTLE FOR SEAN'S ATTENTION, ON ABC'S "THE BACHELOR"

The First Group Date Features a Competition Which Will Land
The Winner a Three-Cover Deal on Harlequin Romance Novels

"Episode 1702" - The 19 remaining bachelorettes move into the mansion with hopes that they will end up as Sean's soul mate and future wife. But first our Bachelor has a few tricks up his sleeve, as he takes Sarah on a jolting one-on-one adrenaline date, while Desiree gets the full hidden-camera prank treatment to see if she has a sense of humor. The group date will give 13 lucky ladies the chance to compete in a photo shoot challenge to win a deal to appear on the cover of several famed romance novels. But it doesn't take long for the drama to ramp up, and an intense rose ceremony lies ahead, on "The Bachelor," MONDAY, JANUARY 14 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Sean whisks Sarah AWAY via helicopter to the top of one of Los Angeles' highest buildings. He holds out a sweet reward: a romantic picnic - but only after the couple free-falls 300 feet to the ground. Despite the difficulty of having one arm, Sarah is ready and willing to attempt the perilous fall. Later she shares her emotional story about being physically challenged and how she strives to overcome this hurdle. But how will Sean receive this message? Will he accept Sarah wholeheartedly, or will her dream date end in heartbreak?

Next, 13 women join Sean at a sprawling Beverly Hills estate for the opportunity of a lifetime: The bachelorettes will compete in a photo shoot to see who will win a deal to appear on three Harlequin romance novel covers. Lesley M. gets the race kick-started, sneaking a kiss as she and Sean pose for their cowboy scene. Kristy sparks a jealous frenzy when she seduces Sean in front of the other women during her glamour shoot. But will all this one-upmanship matter when the winner is named? At the after party, sparks continue to fly as one pouty woman distances herself from the group, and Katie questions whether or not she should stay. Meanwhile, Kacie B. attempts to graduate from the "friend zone" to love interest by spending some alone time with Sean. However, after shocking the women, will the Bachelor give the date rose to a deserving lady looking for love, or will he fall victim to the manipulations of another woman?

Gorgeous Desiree gets the last individual date this week. Sean escorts her to a swanky art show, but unbeknownst to her, the exhibition is an elaborate hidden camera hoax. She will think she smashed a million-dollar piece of art. Does she have a sense of humor? Later at an intimate dinner, the couple bond over their similar family backgrounds and views of marriage. The night is capped off with a steamy shared hot tub and kiss. But will everything Sean has found out about Desiree add up to a rose?

Finally, at the cocktail party, the pressure is getting to the women. One bold woman puts Sean on the spot about his dating preferences. Another aloof lady poisons the night with her negative attitude. But will Sean see the true woman behind the phony smile, or will her deceptive charm prevail? At the end of the night, 16 women remain in the chase for Sean's heart.

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor' episode 2

Ladies and gentlemen, your Miss America 2013 isÖ Miss New York. I want to start this week by congratulating Miss New York on winning the crown and by thanking the Miss America Organization for having me back again this year to host the show. I have to admit I was a little surprised when I peeked at the card on the stage and saw the judges chose Miss New York over the very popular Miss South Carolina. It was definitely a bit of an upset, but Miss New York is a very deserving winner and really blew the judges away in her interview earlier in the week, and that stuck with them throughout the final night. Imagine me being involved with a competition show that had a little drama. I appreciate all of you that watched the ceremony and for all of those that watched the Bachelor on Monday night.

I was so happy we were able to get the cameras to Seanís house in time to catch him in the middle of his workoutÖ pardon me, his shirtless workout. I did feel a little bad when we accidentally caught him in the middle of his shower. But being the man he is, Sean took it all in stride and got ready for his week of first dates. Sarah got the first one-on-one date and was as nervous as she was excited. It always amazes me every time we land a helicopter on the driveway of the mansion. The space it lands on isnít very wide and Iím always so impressed with the pros that land those choppers each time.

This date was one of the most challenging for Team Bachelor to figure out. How do you drop people 30 stories and make sure theyíre safe? Teaming up with some experts made it completely safe, but it certainly didnít make it any less scary. Mark my words, they were terrified. So, Sean picked Sarah for the first extreme date of the season and that can mean good things. Thereís Bachelor history on her side. Very often, the girl that gets the extreme date goes very far with the Bachelor. If their date and chemistry are any indication, I think this is going to be the case again. (By the way, did anyone else notice the exit sign that was on the roof of the building next to Sarah that led to nothing but a three hundred foot fall?) Sarah and Sean really hit it off and she easily got the rose as well as the first real kiss of the season.
The first group date is always a tough one, and when I say ďtoughĒ I mean ďan intensely awkward challenge where one guy tries to impossibly entertain 14 women.Ē I loved the idea of two of my favorite things coming together on this date: Harlequin books and The Bachelor. On this date we all got to see how Tierra is beginning to rub the other ladies the wrong way, but at this point Sean obviously has no idea and really likes her. When Kristy started talking the talk I thought there was no way she would actually walk the walk ó but she hit it out of the park, easily winning the competition.

Katie illustrated something that often happens on this show and Iím glad we showed you all of it. This journey isnít for everybody and it can get the best of you. I applaud Katie for realizing this early on and pulling herself out instead of sticking around taking a spot that another woman should have. Kacie got the rose on this date and did manage to make it out of the friend zone, but sheís not out of the woods yet. Sean is still skeptical of this whole thing and sheís got some work to do before she totally earns Seanís trust.

My favorite thing about this weekís episode was easily the elaborate practical joke we played on Desiree. I have to really give it up to our producers and our art department who are always impressive pulling off a normal date, but they had to really pull out all the stops to make this work like it did. The studio was so incredibly transformed into an art gallery I really couldnít tell what was real and what wasnít. I had a blast being a part of it. I was happy to see Desiree had as much fun with it as we did. This prank really broke the ice for the two of them and set up their relationship in a great way. The rest of their date was easy, romantic and hopeful. She got the rose and like many women in the house, can already Sean as her boyfriend. The only problem with that is when this many women are falling for the Bachelor, thereís bound to be drama.

We already got a glimpse of the storm brewing around Tierra, and most the women were surprised Amanda, who was incredibly awkward during the cocktail party, got a rose. Next week the relationships will continue to build at an alarming rate. Sean has a sincere way of making each woman feel like sheís the only one in the room and the only one in his life. This is a great quality, but in this kind of situation can obviously lead to confusion and trouble. Thank you so much for watching and canít wait to chat next week. A SCORCHING KISS, A BAD TUMBLE DOWN A FLIGHT OF STAIRS AND A HEARTFELT DATE MARK SEAN'S CONTINUING JOURNEY TO FIND LOVE, EVEN AS HE DROPS A BOMBSHELL, ON ABC'S "THE BACHELOR
One Lucky Lady and Two Very Appreciative Girls Get the VIP Treatment From Sean at an Amusement Park Where Eli Young Band Performs a Private Concert
"Episode 1703" - A potential record-breaking date for the world's longest on-screen kiss gets Lesley M.'s heart all aflutter, while the claws come out at a very competitive volleyball group date that reveals some of the women's true colors. Sean's magical date with AshLee at an amusement park is shared with two girls who suffer from a chronic illness. The Bachelor has one more surprise for his date and the girls: a private concert by his favorite country group, Eli Young Band. However in the middle of this, one bachelorette takes a nasty fall down the mansion stairs - or is it just her way of getting Sean's attention? Finally, Sean stirs up a shocking finish to the night right before the rose ceremony, on "The Bachelor," MONDAY, JANUARY 21 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Lesley M. is on cloud nine when she get this week's first one-on-one date with Sean, but she is stunned when the Bachelor shares with her that their date could go down in the Guinness World Records for longest on-screen kiss. The current record now stands at three minutes and 15 seconds. Will their passion be cemented in the history books? And will it be enough to secure Lesley M. a rose?

Sean surprises a group of women with what first seems like a delightful outing on a sun splashed California beach. It's sexy fun in the sand until Chris Harrison reveals that they will divide up in teams and compete in a game of beach volleyball. The winning team spends the evening with Sean, while the losing team gets to spend the evening alone at the mansion. The competition is hot and heavy. At the after party, the battle continues for the date rose. Sean sees a different side of one woman when she uses her time to try and sabotage his relationship with two other bachelorettes. Will her scheme pay off?

The next day, as AshLee eagerly anticipates her individual date with Sean, another bachelorette takes a tumble down the stairs at the mansion. However, the women immediately become suspicious when the woman refuses medical help. Is it a ploy to get Sean's attention? One thing is sure: AshLee is fuming that her date is getting cut short. When the couple finally heads to Six Flags Magic Mountain, where they have the park all to themselves, Sean reveals that he has offered to share the date with two young women who suffer from a chronic illness - Emily and Brianna from the Starlight Foundation's Starbright World program, who are meeting for the first time. After the day of fun in the park, Sean has another surprise: a private concert by his favorite country group, Eli Young Band.

At the cocktail party, Sean makes one woman cry - but are they tears of joy or sorrow? And another bachelorette tries to do some damage control to keep a continuing relationship with the Bachelor. But one woman sets off a firestorm as she tries to steal extra time with Sean. A startling end to the evening lies ahead as Sean provides major fireworks before the rose ceremony. In the end, 13 bachelorettes remain to continue on the journey to become Sean's soul mate and, hopefully, future wife.

The 16 women are:
Amanda, 26, fit model, Newport Beach, CA
AshLee, 32, personal organizer, Houston, TX
Catherine, 26, graphic designer, Seattle, WA
Daniella, 24, commercial casting associate, San Francisco, CA
Desiree, 26, bridal stylist, Los Angeles, CA
Jackie, 25, cosmetics consultant, Boynton Beach, FL
Kacie B., 25, administrative assistant, Clarksville, TN
Kristy, 25, model, Darien, WI
Lesley M., 25, political consultant, Washington, DC
Leslie H., 29, poker dealer, Los Angeles, CA
Lindsay, 24, substitute teacher, Fort Leonard Wood, MO
Robyn, 24, oil field account manager, Houston, TX
Sarah, 26, advertising executive, Los Angeles, CA
Selma, 29, real estate developer, San Diego, CA
Taryn, 30, heath club manager, Troutdale, OR
Tierra, 24, leasing consultant, Denver, CO

Hosted by Chris Harrison, "The Bachelor" is a production of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss and Martin Hilton are the executive producers.

Bachelor Star Sean Lowe Blogs: I'm Looking for Lasting Love

Sean Lowe is the star of the new season of The Bachelor, which debuts Monday, Jan. 7 on ABC. The hunky Dallas businessman and entrepreneur will be blogging about his romantic journey for PEOPLE.com.

Wow! I'm really The Bachelor. It still doesn't feel real.

It seems like just yesterday I was chasing Emily Maynard down the streets of Prague and wondering how she stole my heart when so many people in my past have tried and failed. But it wasn't yesterday Ė and now enough time has passed to allow my heart to mend and give me perspective and understanding as to why Emily made the best decision for both of us.

The question I'm most often asked is, "Why do you need to be on The Bachelor?" It's a fair question and I'd probably ask the same thing to someone else in my position.

The truth is, I probably don't need to be on The Bachelor to meet someone new, as there are plenty of single, nice, attractive women right here in Dallas. But I'm a firm believer that God works in mysterious and often crazy ways and he sometimes opens doors that need to be walked through.

I never anticipated falling in love with Emily on The Bachelorette. Like many cynics, I thought the whole thing was contrived and manufactured. I never thought I'd develop real feelings under those circumstances. I only agreed to be on The Bachelorette for the travel and the experience.

Well, as you all witnessed, my cynicism quickly evaporated and I fell in love with Emily and was convinced I'd spend the rest of my life loving her and her daughter.

Of course, that didn't happen. After the heartbreak of losing Emily, I was able to really reflect on the entire journey. I came to realize two very important things: My feelings for Emily were real, but she is not the one for me.

So here I am today, The Bachelor. I believe I can find love a second time through this experience and I'm hopeful it will be a lasting love. I hope you enjoy taking this incredible journey with me and I'm excited to hear your thoughts along the way.
Ė Sean

Sean Lowe Blogs About the Most Impressive Women on The Bachelor

Sean Lowe is the star of season 17 of The Bachelor, which debuted Monday on ABC. The hunky Dallas businessman and entrepreneur will be blogging about his romantic journey for PEOPLE.com.

Going into the first night as The Bachelor, I was filled with an excitement that I can't quite put into words. I was so anxious to meet the women and I had so many questions that needed answering. Would I feel a connection with anyone? Am I going to meet my future wife tonight? Can I really carry on 25 different conversations with 25 different women? Am I going to make it out alive?

Those questions, concerns and fears were all put to rest very quickly. The women amazed me. They seemed sweet, funny and gorgeous! Any nerves I had going into the first night were calmed by the unusual and very funny antics of a few women.

I felt so bad for Robyn when she attempted that back handspring and landed on her head. But I must admit, it was a great icebreaker and it definitely made a big impression on me. I love a girl who doesn't take herself too seriously. And Lesley definitely scored points with me when she pulled the football prank on me. It was fun, creative and most importantly, it made me want to spend more time with her.

But the woman who made the biggest entrance of the night had to be Lindsay. The girl showed up in a wedding dress! My first thought was that she was crazy, but I quickly learned that it was just her quirky sense of humor and she wasn't afraid to put herself out there. Lindsay was someone I wouldn't forget.

The woman who made the biggest impression on me was Tierra. I can't explain it but I just felt an immediate connection with Tierra. Her piercing eyes and beautiful smile stopped me in my tracks and I knew right then and there that I wanted to give her a rose. I didn't stop to think that by giving her a rose so quickly I might be putting a target on her back, but I'm glad I made that decision because I knew I wanted to spend more time with Tierra.
Kacie's Back
After meeting the 25 women, I was ready to get inside and start talking with them but of course Chris Harrison had a surprise for me: there was a 26th woman and it was none other than Kacie from Ben Flajnik's season of The Bachelor.

I was shocked to see her step out of the limo because I was already friends with her. We met at a charity function a few months prior and I was able to spend a good amount of time with her. I thought she was really sweet and fun, but I never looked at her in a romantic light and I had no idea she had developed a crush on me. I knew it would be a transition for me viewing Kacie as someone who is more than a friend, but I was certainly willing to try because I respect her as a person so much.

After meeting the 26 women, I was finally able to go inside and hang out with them all. I've never been so overwhelmed in my life! I only had one message I wanted to convey to them: be yourself and have fun. It was important to me that they hear that because I often felt like I wasn't my normal loose self around Emily, and I've always regretted that she didn't fully get to see that side of me.

Once I was over the initial shock of the room full of beautiful women, I was able to sit down and start talking to them on an individual basis. I was blown away by not only how attractive the women were but how intelligent and accomplished so many of them were. I've always said that there is nothing sexier than a woman's intellect Ė and I was certainly not disappointed by this group.

I will say that moving from woman to woman and keeping up with each conversation was exhausting. I wanted to be attentive to everyone so I was really focusing on each woman but it wore me out! There came a point during the evening when I had to get away for a few minutes by myself to eat and decompress.

I made the decision to hand out roses during the cocktail party because I felt like being in the moment. Each rose I handed out was just a way of my telling that woman that I liked her and wanted to get to know her more. I found myself handing out roses left and right and thought it would make the ceremony easier. But then when it came time, there were so few roses left and so many great women that it was just as hard!

Overall, I had an amazing first night and I am so excited to start this crazy new journey with all of you. I don't think I realized right away, though, just how crazy the journey would be! I hope you will watch next Monday, too Ė as each week went by it became harder and harder to figure out just who was the perfect girl for me. They came in so many different packages Ė some that I never would have imagined myself meeting and falling for.

Wait until you see who I go on dates with next week. Some of my choices were obvious Ė like Sarah, the bravest Bachelorette, who despite her life's obstacles was willing to jump off a building with me Ė and some were less obvious, like my photo session with a group of vampires, and figuring out who could handle a really bold prank.

Thanks for watching Ė and reading!
Sean

The Bachelor's Sean Lowe Blogs: Desiree 'Just Might Be the One'

Sean Lowe is the star of season 17 of The Bachelor, which airs Mondays on ABC. The hunky Dallas businessman and entrepreneur will be blogging about his romantic journey for PEOPLE.com.

I was so happy heading into the dates this week on The Bachelor. With the first cocktail party and rose ceremony out of the way, it was now time to really have fun and get to know the women much better.

I wanted to pick the perfect person for my first date. Thinking about all the women who made a big impression on me the first night, there were so many that I was eager to spend more time with. Yet one woman in particular stood out above the rest. I enjoyed my time with Sarah at the cocktail party so much and I knew within minutes that she was a sweet, caring person Ė a quality I always look for in women.

I knew I liked Sarah but I didn't know enough about her, so I invited her to join me on a pulse-pounding date. And free falling off of a 35-story building is definitely a way to get to know someone. It was one of the biggest rushes I've ever experienced and I think Sarah can say the same thing.

I really liked offering support to her during the time leading up to the free fall because I could tell she was nervous and freaking out a bit. It brings me pleasure to be able to comfort the woman I'm with.

As fun as the free fall was, I actually enjoyed the evening with Sarah even more. It was then that she really opened up and showed me her vulnerable side. I could tell that she wasn't completely comfortable talking about her arm and I'm not sure she was convinced I didn't care about it. But after spending the evening together while enjoying great conversation, I think she finally understood that I was really there to get to know her and I was enjoying every minute of it.

Ending the night on the top of the building seemed fitting and, after an extraordinary day together, I had no doubt in my mind I wanted to spend more time with her so I offered her the rose. It was easily one of the most romantic endings to a date that I've ever had so it only felt right to end the night with a kiss.

My very first date of the Bachelor season was a huge success and that was all because of Sarah. I couldn't wait to send more time with her!
Group Date Dynamic
Going into the first group date, I was excited to spend time with the women and get to know them better, but I was apprehensive about the dynamic. I always felt like my group dates with Emily were a bit uncomfortable because no one really acted like himself in a group setting and everyone was sharing time with the same person. Our Harlequin date was no different.

It started with the cowboy shoot and things got pretty uncomfortable pretty quickly kissing Lesley M. while the other women looked on. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the kiss, but uncomfortable nonetheless because I knew a ton of eyes were on us.

And it only became more awkward from there. Dressing up in costumes and role-playing was fun, but kissing girls in front of other girls definitely brought a lot of tension.

I was excited to hang out with the women after the Harlequin shoot because I knew I'd get a lot of individual quality time with them. A few women definitely stood out that night.

I could tell that Tierra was visibly upset and I wanted to know why because she definitely won me over on the first night and I wanted her to be happy. She told me that she was here for me and didn't want to make friends with the other women.

I didn't say this, but I was thinking, "This is a long ride. I wouldn't isolate yourself too much because you might be living with these girls for the next ten weeks." But her mind seemed to be put at ease and I was happy that she was happy because I really liked her.

Catherine also stood out in a great way. I noticed when she stepped out of the limo the first night that she was beautiful, but it wasn't until the Harlequin date that I learned how funny she was. She slipped me a note that said she's vegan but loves the beef, implying that I'm a beefcake. I definitely knew I wanted to spend more time with Catherine.

The woman who stood out more than anyone else that evening was Kacie. When she stepped out of the limo on the first night, I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to view her as anything more than a friend. After talking to her that night at the Harlequin date though, I came to realize that we had real potential as a couple.

The One?
My final date of the week was with Desiree. I was excited for this date because we got along so well the first night and she was so funny. I knew she'd be the perfect person for the prank I had planned. The prank was hilarious and she was such a good sport about everything, but the best part of the date took place at my bachelor pad.

Talking to Dez by the fire was everything I hoped it would be. I was clicking on every level with her and I could feel myself really starting to fall for her. She's witty, sarcastic, intelligent, loving, caring and our morals seemed to line up. And not to mention, she's so beautiful! This girl has it all.

We ended the night with a very romantic dip in the hot tub and of course I gave Dez a rose. I left that date thinking that Dez might just be the one for me.

After a great first week of dates, I was eager to get to the cocktail party and see all of the women, especially the ones that I didn't have the opportunity to take on a date. Walking back into the house a second time, I was still blown away by all the incredible women that were there. It was so humbling to think all of these women were making an effort to be here just to give our relationship a shot.

I had to make some difficult decisions at the rose ceremony. I had a lot of great conversations that night where it just clicked with the woman, so that is what I based my decisions off of. And I was so happy with the group of women that I had at the end of the night and I couldn't have imagined the first week going any better than it did. I remember just hoping that the next week would be just as good.

Thanks for watching!
Sean

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor' episode 3

We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming with some breaking news! Sean is working out without his shirt on: letís go in for a closer look. Now that we have confirmed Sean has gotten his daily, shirtless, workout in, lets explore what was a very pivotal week in the Bachelor house.

This week really felt like somebody flipped an emotional switch. Lesley M. got the first date and it was a record breaker. When I heard about this idea to attempt to break the record for longest on screen kiss for a date I wasnít exactly sure how it was going to work, but it turned out to be fantastic. Lesley had no idea what was happening, and when she walked out and saw all of us standing there her expression was priceless.

It was pretty cool to set this stage up on Hollywood Boulevard for everybody to see. A big crowd gathered and everybody really got into it, especially Lesley and Sean. When you hear the previous record for longest on screen kiss was three minutes fifteen seconds it doesnít sound that crazy. What you have to realize is itís not just kissing for that long, thatís easy, but someone has to televise a continuous kiss for over three minutes. The more you think about it, the more you realize thatís a lot of screen time for just one continuous kiss.

Sean and Leslie actually had to try twice to break the record. The first time they started kissing they went after it so passionately they forgot about the rules and their lips came apart and they had to start over. The second time they kept their concentration and they blew right past the record, and you got to see every second of it. Well, you actually had to see every second of it because thatís the point of the longest on-screen kiss. I think itís only fitting that The Bachelor franchise holds this record and I canít see anybody taking that away from us for quite some time.

After I was lucky enough to have an awkward front row seat to watch Sean and Lesley make out I got to spend a day at the beach on the group date. This date was held down at Zuma Beach in Malibu, only about ten minutes from the Bachelor mansion. The girls were having a good time but they knew something was coming. Once I broke the ladies up into two teams they actually went and practiced for a bit with two professional beach volleyball players. After a good practice session with the pros it was time to play.

If they practiced for a couple hours with the pros, and they did, you sure couldnít tell. A few of the ladies had some skills but the majority of them did not. You might have noticed Sean was on the court from time to time. He would float back and forth between the two teams helping them both out. Iíd like the record to show that Sean went over to help the red team at the end when they lost. I let him hear about that for a while.

After the game the losers piled into a rental van and the others made the short drive up to Seanís house for a victory party. Lindsay, who started off on such an awkward note with Sean has definitely recovered. She has really turned things around and Sean is very interested in her and ended up giving her the rose. Desiree continues to impress Sean. Amanda intrigues Sean but it may be moving more along the lines of baffling him. This weekís dating faux pas award goes to Amanda. Sean let Amanda know there was a lot he didnít know about herÖ so she started her next sentence with, ďIf we were to get marriedÖĒ Maybe something along the lines of ďWhat would you like to know about me?Ē, ďAsk me anythingĒ, ďWhat can I tell you about myself?Ē ó any of these responses would have been better, I think.

Speaking of mistakes, boy did Kacie step in it this week. Iím not sure what the thought behind her strategy to get involved in the drama or bringing it up to Sean was, but man it backfired. After having been through this once before I was a little surprised she wasnít a little savvier. Sean, who was already a little skeptical about her being there, was really thrown off by this and he ended up sending her home. I really thought the way he pulled her aside in the middle of the rose ceremony was classy. Not that the other ladies deserve less, but Kacieís situation was a bit different and their prior relationship made it important to treat her a little differently in sending her home so early.

AshLee got the final date this week, but right before they were due to leave, tragedy struck at the Bachelor mansion. Well, it wasnít exactly tragic. In fact, Iím not sure what it was. Tierra slipped and fell down some stairs but nobody really knows how bad it really was. It didnít seem to be too bad or maybe Sean is a miracle cure for a concussion, because when he showed up she got real good, real quick. Tierra did not go to the hospital, by her own request.

After the drama AshLee and Sean did get to enjoy their date and what a special day it was. We are very proud to use this date to shine a light on a very worthy cause: the Starlight Childrenís Foundation.  I urge you to take a minute and learn more about this foundation by going to our website. The two young ladies that joined them on the date to Six Flags had the time of their lives and it was extremely cool to give them that experience. On a romantic note, AshLee and Sean really connected on this date and now there is yet another strong relationship growing in the house. I want to give a special shout out to the Eli Young Band; Sean absolutely loves these guys and they put on a great show.

The mood at the house for the cocktail party was intense. Everybody wanted a piece of Sean that night. It seemed like everybody had just one more thing they positively had to tell him. There was one light moment, when he arranged to have Sarahís dog Leo brought to the house. This was a grand gesture that meant a lot to Sarah. The only problem is Leo doesnít exactly love traveling in cars ó so letís just say we owe the limo company a little money for cleanup.

Emotions are already running extremely high at the house and as you saw in the preview for next week things will begin to spill over. Tierra is an incredibly polarizing figure in the house and Amanda also seems to get the best of people. These women definitely see Sean as an amazing catch and they are starting to pull out all the stops to get his attention and win his heart. This week Iím excited to head out to New York to do some work on Good Morning America on Friday. And if youíre in the Chicago area on Saturday, come out and say hello to me at the Travel and Adventure show. In the meantime you can always reach me via Twitter and instagram @chrisbharrison.

Sean Lowe Blogs: I Could Fall in Love with AshLee

Last week could not have gone better. My dates on The Bachelor with Sarah and Desiree were fantastic. I was hoping to make the same progress this week. I knew I had a fun one-on-one date planned first, but that it might also be very awkward if I didn't choose the right girl. That's why I decided to ask Lesley M. if she would join me on my Guinness Record date.

She was the perfect choice because I felt so comfortable around her from the beginning. Lesley broke the ice on the first night by having me bend over with the football, and I've enjoyed my time with her ever since. Women like Lesley are hard to find. She is not just sexy, smart and funny, but she's also really easy to be around. I felt like I had known Lesley for years and it had only been two weeks. That's why she was the one I wanted to set the record for world's longest on-screen kiss with her. The kiss actually really surprised me! I thought kissing for more than three minutes would be awkward and uncomfortable – especially since it took place on Hollywood Boulevard and in front of a crowd of people. But it wasn't. Time flew by and it was much more passionate than I thought it would be. I think that speaks to the chemistry we share.

We ended the date on the rooftop of the famous Roosevelt Hotel. My feelings for Lesley had definitely been growing throughout the date but they were solidified there. We had so much fun together. She had the ability to open up and speak from the heart and then also be really goofy. I loved that about her. One thing you didn't get to see on TV was at one point, we started feeding each other brownies and making all kinds of inappropriate remarks while doing so. We were laughing hysterically and were left with chocolate all over our faces. And of course the night ended with one of the most romantic kisses I've ever had. It doesn't get much better than kissing a beautiful woman on top of the Roosevelt while overlooking Hollywood as confetti guns are going off. It was a perfect ending to a perfect date.

The Group Date
The group date the next day was one of my favorite of the season. Before we started playing volleyball, we were throwing the football, playing in the ocean, catching the Frisbee and just enjoying the beautiful day. I was never the most outspoken guy on group dates with Emily, so I found it interesting to see who put themselves out there and who didn't. I remember Jackie pulled me aside to talk, which was nice because until that point she had been really quiet and reserved. She made me think there was more to her than the quiet girl I pegged her for.

Group dates always bring an element of awkwardness but I think the laid back atmosphere of the date took some of that away ... until Chris Harrison showed up. Of course I knew we couldn't just play in the sun all day, but I really wasn't prepared to lose half of the girls for the evening portion of the date. The volleyball game was intense and it became apparent pretty early on that both teams wanted to win. It brought me back to the sailing competition my team lost in Bermuda on Emily's season. Time is so precious at this stage of the game and it's a terrible feeling when you lose out on an opportunity for more time. So after a hard-fought battle, half of the women had to make the walk of shame back to the van. I was sad to see those six women leave, but I knew that it would allow for more quality time with the others.

The evening portion of the group date took place back at my bachelor pad. It's located just a couple of miles down the road from the Bachelor mansion and this is where I lived while we were in Los Angeles. I was happy to bring the girls back to my place because it was an intimate setting and I knew it would be the perfect place to have in-depth conversations. The woman who really stood out above the rest that evening was Lindsay. Until now, I viewed her as the fun girl who wore a wedding dress. Well, I think the wedding dress masked the depth that she possesses. When we sat down that night she told me how badly she wants to love and about how her parents have an amazing marriage and how she wants to find someone to share life with. I was blown away! And we ended with a very passionate kiss, which lingered in my mind for a long time after.
The Drama
I had no idea that there was any drama occurring between Amanda and Des, so I was surprised to hear Kacie bring it to my attention. If I seemed frustrated when talking to Kacie, it's because I was! I had a hard time understanding why Kacie decided to involve herself in this drama if she's not directly affected. After all, neither Amanda nor Des felt like they needed to say something, so why did Kacie? I just felt like if anyone in the house should grasp the big picture, it was Kacie – and yet she wasn't. At the end of the night, it only felt right to give the rose to Lindsay.

My final date of the week was a one-on-one date with AshLee. She grabbed my attention on the first night. She was the first out of the limo and she looked gorgeous. Not only that, after talking with her then I realized she had such a big heart. There was something different about her that really made me take notice and I knew I wanted to spend more time with her. AshLee was the perfect person to take on the Six Flags date because I saw her compassion early on, and I was hopeful she would share that compassion with Brianna and Emily, the two girls who both suffer from chronic illnesses. I'm involved with two pediatric cancer foundations back home in Dallas, 1 Million 4 Anna and Micaela's Army, and so the opportunity to share this date with young girls pulled at my heartstrings.

The Frontrunner?
The day with Ashlee and the girls at Six Flags was incredible! We had so much fun together and I took the most joy from watching how happy Emily and Brianna were. Their smiles made my heart melt and I was just happy to play a small part in their day. Both girls have a ton of energy and are even more passionate about amusement parks than I am, so we were all pretty exhausted after a long day. Emily and Brianna went back to their hotel, which allowed AshLee and me the time alone we needed to talk and really connect. She told me the story of her childhood and about the abuse she suffered as a child and the love her father gave her once she was adopted at age six. I don't usually cry, but hearing her describe the day she met her father and how he told her he would love her forever brought me to tears. It was then that I understood where AshLee's compassion comes from and I had a whole new appreciation for the person that she is. We finished the night dancing in front of one of my favorite bands, the Eli Young Band, and ended the evening with a very romantic kiss. AshLee quickly became a frontrunner and I knew if given time I could fall in love with her.

Each cocktail party I found myself more and more relaxed and just happy to be around such incredible ladies, but there was still an element of stress because as my relationships evolved, it became more awkward having all the women in the same house. I never wanted to disrespect any of the women by having them see my chemistry with another girl, so as much as I tried to be in the moment with each conversation. I was also tense wondering if another woman was going to come around the corner. One moment that was entirely stress free and made me so happy was getting to surprise Sarah with her beloved dog. I have two dogs back in Dallas that mean the world to me and that I miss so much, so I knew that Sarah must have been feeling the same way about hers. Seeing the look on her face when he jumped out of the car made my night. And I'd like to send a special thank you to whichever production assistant had to clean the dog poop out of the back of the car. I owe you one, buddy!

Thanks for watching!

TEARS AND RECRIMINATIONS TAKE CENTER STAGE AS THE WOMEN TACKLE
NEW CHALLENGES AND CLASH HEAD ON TO GET CLOSER TO SEAN,
ON ABC'S "THE BACHELOR"

Leslie H. is the Envy of the Other Bachelorettes as She is Treated to a Luxurious Date
Complete with a Private Concert from Popular Singing Artist Ben Taylor

"Episode 1704" - A challenging week is ahead for the 13 remaining bachelorettes as Selma learns that what she thought was an opulent date will actually be a rock climbing adventure. Eight women join Sean for a rock'em sock'em roller derby match, which ends with a trip to the hospital. Leslie H. is the stunning bachelorette that Sean surprises with a Rodeo Drive shopping spree ą la "Pretty Woman," and an elegant romantic date that ends with the couple being treated to a VIP private concert from folk-rock-pop artist Ben Taylor. But the controversy continues to swirl around one disruptive woman even as the others try to deepen their connection with Sean, on "The Bachelor," MONDAY, JANUARY 28 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Selma is enthralled with her one-on-one date with Sean as the day begins with a limousine ride and a private jet. But then she discovers that the Bachelor has something entirely different on his mind. Their destination is the desert landscape of the Joshua Tree National Park in Twenty-nine Palms, California. Sean decides to put Selma to the test with a daring rock climbing escapade. Later the couple has dinner under the stars at a hipster-chic trailer park where the table is set for romance. But his beautiful date is having reservations about getting intimate with Sean. How will that affect her chances of capturing a rose?

A gritty warehouse is the location for a topsy-turvy roller derby with Sean and eight of the bachelorettes. Sarah faces another physical challenge that causes her to have emotional breakdown, but Sean proves to be supportive and helps her to try and overcome her fears. All of the women push themselves past their limits until one woman falls hard and is rushed to the hospital. At the after party that night, fireworks erupt as Robyn and Tierra clash, leading one of them to storm off, threaten to leave and then dissolve in tears. It's up to Sean again to comfort the distraught woman and to figure out if the tears are genuine or crocodile, meant to manipulate him into giving her a rose.

Leslie H. is the lucky recipient of the luxury date - complete with exquisite diamond earrings and a dream-come-true shopping excursion on famed Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Along with an elegant designer dress, Leslie H. is treated to the perfect accessory - a necklace worth $500,000. The "movie star" couple arrives at the majestic Bradbury Building where the scene is set for an elegant dinner. But there is one more surprise to end this very romantic date: a private concert by folk-pop-rock artist Ben Taylor. Will the date have a fairy tale ending complete with a rose?

Sean does his best to develop his connections with the women at the cocktail party, but all the while the drama is reaching a feverish level when it comes to one woman. The bachelorette tries to apologize to the other ladies, but will it work? Meanwhile, another gorgeous woman tries to keep Sean's mind on romance and away from the commotion. Is she going to be able to move from being friends to taking the next step in her relationship with Sean?

A tension-filled rose ceremony leaves 11 bachelorettes remaining to join Sean on a journey around the world to find love.

The 13 women are:

Amanda, 26, fit model, Newport Beach, CA
AshLee, 32, personal organizer, Houston, TX
Catherine, 26, graphic designer, Seattle, WA
Daniella, 24, commercial casting associate, San Francisco, CA
Desiree, 26, bridal stylist, Los Angeles, CA
Jackie, 25, cosmetics consultant, Boynton Beach, FL
Leslie H., 29, poker dealer, Los Angeles, CA
Lesley M., 25, political consultant, Washington, D.C.
Lindsay, 24, substitute teacher, Fort Leonard Wood, MO
Robyn, 24, oil field account manager, Houston, TX
Sarah, 26, advertising executive, Los Angeles, CA
Selma, 29, real estate developer, San Diego, CA

Hosted by Chris Harrison, "The Bachelor" is a production of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss and Martin Hilton are the executive producers.

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor' episode 4

So, like many blogs before this one, Iím writing this at approximately thirty thousand feet. I give you this disclaimer because as I look back on my blogs I find that something about writing these at cruising altitude makes them decidedly different. Not sure if itís the lack of oxygen getting to my brain or the fact that I always listen to music as I write that gives these high altitude blogs a little edge. Right now Iím feeling a little sentimental because Glorianaís ďKiss YouĒ is on, so letís roll with that.

Selma, who we really havenít gotten to see that much of yet, got the first date. Emotions are running incredibly high this season, honestly a little higher than usual. Because of this, who gets dates really impacts the dynamic in the house. The date with Selma started out super sexy but then turned incredibly rugged. I credit Selma for delivering the money line of the season so far when she said Sean ďtook the Iraqi to the desert.Ē Selma, whoís apparently not the outdoorsy type, started out a little rough, and in her words, puffy, but boy did she rally. Joshua Tree National park was an incredible backdrop for this date, and Sean was truly impressed with how Selma dove right in and got dirty with him. Itís important that these girls can show him how they can step out of their comfort zones and embrace what life has to offer beyond six-inch heels.

There was a lot of sexual chemistry between the Selma and Sean and as a result, she had to explain that due to her beliefs and her background she couldnít kiss him. This brings up an incredibly interesting social discussion. Selma wanted to kiss Sean and she really doesnít necessarily seem to believe that dating out loud is wrong, nor is kissing. But she felt compelled, out of respect for her parents and their beliefs, to refrain from kissing Sean. Iíll be interested to hear your thoughts on this. Is living like this going to be something that Selma ultimately regrets? Only the individual can make that judgment calls for herself, and this is the path Selmaís chosen for right now. Sean, to his credit, very much respected her decision and completely understood. Ironically it probably only made her more attractive, but at some point, will that change? Like his other dates, Selma really seems like she could be the one for Sean, but then again, thatís how almost every date feels with this guy.

The group date was interesting, to say the least. I put the roller derby idea right up there with the Muay Thai boxing date during Ashleyís season in Chiang Mai. Sure, it seems like a good idea, but once you realize everyoneís just getting hurt, it becomes less sexy. One good thing about these dates is you get to really see what people are made of and how they handle stressful situations. You also get to see how tough their jaws are. Everybody took some big spills but Amanda really came crashing down. Fortunately her jaw broke her fall. She was banged up pretty good and had to go make sure she didnít actually fracture her jaw. Luckily she returned later in the date, but sadly, sheíll never play the harmonica the same again.

One thing that no one expected was how hard skating would be for Sarah. Everyone, especially Sean, was really sensitive to her and wanted to make sure she didnít feel excluded for any reason, but also felt comfortable with the activity. It was nice to see her get so much support from the other girls and Sarah once again proved herself to be a very, very strong woman.

Sean quickly took the temperature in the room and realized at this point it was best to cut his losses and restructure this date. He did so by cranking up a little power ballad and turned the whole thing into one big couples skate. Well played, my friend. Thereís no problem that canít be solved by good baby-making music and a couples skate. As the date progressed to the evening cocktail party, things got a little intense. Iím not sure how Sean and Lindsay didnít freak out when they walked out of that door to find Tierra crouched in the dark corner like a scary hobo goblin ready to pounce on them. Iím not really sure there is such a thing as a hobo goblin but again you gotta give me some leeway here. Iím not getting a lot of oxygen and Iím now listening to some Miike Snow, so this could get weirdÖ or weirder. Now, this move by Tierra couldíve gone one of two ways. Sean couldíve been annoyed and sent her packing, or do what he did and talk her off the cliff. Whether this was the right thing for him to do is debatable. Whether or not he got played is not debatable. Bottom line, Sean likes this girl and we all know that when we like someone we see past a lot and we tend to give people the benefit of the doubt. I imagine there will be much talk surrounding Tierra this week by all of you.

Okay, now musically mellowing things out ó Citizen Cope ďSidewaysĒ just came on (one of my favorite songs), much better.

As much as Selmaís date turned out not to be a Pretty Woman date, Leslie H.ís was all that and then some. If you didnít catch it they actually pulled up in front of the Regency Beverly Wilshire hotel, or as Kit says in the movie, ďReg Bev Wil,Ē where Pretty Woman was shot. Leslie delivered the second best line of this episode when she said she felt like she was really just ďa tan Julia Roberts.Ē It was really cute how uncomfortable and nervous Leslie was with all of this. You could tell she truly appreciated it.

Perfect timing for Bob Marley ďIs This LoveĒ to come on my headphones, because that was the big question on Seanís mind this entire date. He probably summed it up best when he said somebody can look perfect on paper but when itís not there thereís just no way to fix that. They had incredible conversations and got along so well but that spark has to be there and it just wasnít. As Mr. Marley just sang to me ďI wanna love ya, every day and every night.Ē That just wasnít happening here.

This season overall is different than any other Iíve ever been a part of, and thatís because of Sean. He has such an amazing way of making each woman feel like sheís the only one in his life and that is making things increasingly difficult. The other interesting thing about Sean is he has very different relationships with each woman. They all seem to bring out different sides in him. This is going to continue in the weeks to come and if you think emotions are running high now, well, just wait until next week.

If you take anything from this blog this week I hope itís not the fact that when you combine an eclectic music mix and lack of oxygen I get a little loose. I hope itís that we have a huge, special two-day Bachelor event next week! Next Monday and Tuesday we will air all new back-to-back episodes. Weíve never done this before but we think these two episodes are so good and so explosive a special two-night extravaganza was in order. So stock up on the boxed wine and letís do this. In the meantime if you need me or want more songs to live and write by you can always find me on twitter and Instagram @chrisbharrison. Everybody have a great week!

SEAN TAKES HIS SEARCH FOR LOVE ON THE ROAD, ESCORTING THE 11 REMAINING
WOMEN TO MONTANA, WHILE THE DREADED TWO-ON-ONE DATE LOOMS
FOR TIERRA AND JACKIE, ON ABC'S "THE BACHELOR"

EXPLOSIVE DRAMA AND SURPRISE ELIMINATIONS MARK A TWO-NIGHT
"BACHELOR" SPECIAL EVENT, WHICH KICKS OFF MONDAY, FEBRUARY 4
AND CONTINUES TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 5

Country Music Star Sarah Darling Serenades Sean and Lindsay in a Special Concert

"Episode 1705" - A two-night Bachelor special event begins with Sean whisking the remaining 11 bachelorettes away to picturesque Whitefish, Montana, to explore his romantic connections. But the outspoken Tierra and sweet natured Jackie face off in the dramatic two-on-one date, and one of them will be sent home immediately. The Bachelor attempts to escalate his relationship with Lindsay to new heights when the couple takes an astounding helicopter ride over the gorgeous mountains of Montana's Glacier National Park. Eight women get to compete in a Montana relay race, including milking goats, with the winning team getting to spend more time with Sean. And one controversial bachelorette continues to cause a firestorm in the house, leaving Sean to worry if he will ever find his wife here, on "The Bachelor," MONDAY, FEBRUARY 4 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network. The second part of "The Bachelor" special event, Episode "1706," will air on a special night and time, TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 5 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET).

Sean and Lindsay take in the spectacular scenery at Glacier National Park, and Lindsay's heart soars during a romantic dinner. Is this the same playful woman who arrived in a wedding dress a few weeks ago? She finally opens up to Sean about the difficulties growing up as an Army brat. As the romance heats up, Sean surprises her with a special concert by Country star Sarah Darling on the streets of downtown Whitefish -- but will Lindsay get a rose?

Eight of the bachelorettes discover canoes, hay, a wood chopping station and goats at a local lake - uh-oh! They are once again split into two teams for a Montana relay race. The final part of the challenge will be milking a goat and chugging its milk! The winning team will be rewarded with extra time with Sean that night, while the losing team will head back to the hotel. One team finally squeaks by to win. But Sean makes a surprising decision when it comes to the losing team that is bound to upset the winners. And to make things more interesting, Tierra, upset that she will be on the two-on-one date, shows up at the after party. Will her secret rendezvous hurt or help her get the rose the next night?

It's a blistering competition between Tierra and Jackie during the two-on-one date. Sean takes both women on a horseback ride through the Montana outback, only to have the normally charming Jackie take the Bachelor aside and stab Tierra in the back. Will he listen to her? Tierra, in an attempt to save herself, reveals a shocking detail about her personal life. Meanwhile, Sean is left to sort out his feelings and make a very difficult choice which leaves one bachelorette in tears.

The final cocktail party is a boiling cauldron of outrage. It's one woman against the rest of the bachelorettes. Frustrated by all the drama, Sean tries to get to the bottom of the situation, but just feels more confused than ever. He confides in Chris Harrison that he's beginning to doubt he will ever find his soul mate among these women. At the rose ceremony, everyone is stunned by whom Sean chooses to send home. Nine women will join him as they set off for their next destination, the Colorado Rockies.

The 11 women are:
AshLee, 32, personal organizer, Houston, TX
Catherine, 26, graphic designer, Seattle, WA
Daniella, 24, commercial casting associate, San Francisco, CA
Desiree, 26, bridal stylist, Los Angeles, CA
Jackie, 25, cosmetics consultant, Boynton Beach, FL
Lesley M., 25, political consultant, Washington, DC
Lindsay, 24, substitute teacher, Fort Leonard Wood, MO
Robyn, 24, oil field account manager, Houston, TX
Sarah, 26, advertising executive, Los Angeles, CA
Selma, 29, real estate developer, San Diego, CA
Tierra, 24, leasing consultant, Denver, CO

Hosted by Chris Harrison, "The Bachelor" is a production of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss and Martin Hilton are the executive producers.

The Bachelor's Sean Lowe Blogs: Why I Sent Home Leslie
By Sean Lowe

They say opposites attract. That certainly holds true on The Bachelor when thinking about Selma. From the first night I couldn't keep my eyes off of the 5' 1" dark-haired, olive-skinned, Iraqi beauty. Selma was incredibly beautiful, smart and fun, too!

I was waiting for the perfect date for Selma, and rock climbing could not have been better because she told me she often gets judged as a prissy girl. This was my chance to see if she could rough it for a day.

From the moment I picked Selma up, everything seemed so natural. It amazed me how comfortable I was with her. And on the flight to Joshua Tree, she fell asleep with her head on my chest, which led me to believe she was just as comfortable.

The date itself was incredible. Joshua Tree was such a beautiful place and I was happy to be sharing the experience with Selma.

I had my doubts as to whether she could handle the rock climbing, but she proved she can rough it. She climbed the rock faster than I did! And I think she really had a fun time doing it. At the top we got to watch a beautiful sunset together as our reward. We had so much fun but I was looking forward to what I had in store for her next.

The trailer park was so cool. I'm not sure TV does it justice. Between the retro trailers, lights, AstroTurf and the starry night, it was one of the most romantic places I visited all season. My time with Selma that night was so great. She opened up about past relationships, what she wants out of life and what she wants in a man. Then she dropped the no-kissing bomb on me.

It surprised me because she is so affectionate. After hearing about her mom's beliefs, I completely understood. She was in a tough spot and wanted to kiss me but she had too much respect for her mom. The no-kissing thing made our relationship more exciting because I had something to look forward to. Plus, Selma's heart and personality were more than enough. Selma left with a rose and with a piece of my heart. Once again, I was starting to fall for another woman.
On a Roll
The group date started out as a fun idea. I wanted to see who would compete and embrace the physicality of roller derby. But as soon as the girls put on their skates, I knew it was not the most practical date.

Asking the women to skate on an embanked track while hitting each other seemed like a bit much. They were all having a tough time during practice, and then I really had doubts after Amanda fell and busted her chin. That's when I decided to do an old-school free skate instead. Besides, I was there to spend time with the women and not to watch them kill each other.

The rest of the afternoon was a blast. But I was glad to be off skates and on top of the downtown Roosevelt Lofts for the evening part of the date. I remember having such a nice night before running into Tierra. I knew she was having a tough time with the other women and needed more reassurance than anyone else.

What I didn't know was how much the other women disliked her. For the most part, Tierra was all smiles around me so I didn't know she was showing the women another side. When I found her crying on the steps, I knew she doubted whether or not she should be there.

I don't know what it was about Tierra, but I definitely felt a connection with her that goes back to the first night and I didn't like seeing her upset. Once again, I did my best to reassure her of my feelings.

I'll admit my decision to give her the rose was a symbolic Band-Aid. I wanted Tierra to be happy and I wanted to fix whatever was wrong with her. Isn't that what boyfriends are supposed to do? It was obviously a rash decision that was not received well by the other women. But please keep in mind I had not seen the Tierra they had.

Spark or Sparkle?
You usually know if a spark exists with someone within seconds of meeting that person. In rare cases, a spark can develop into a relationship. I was hoping that would happen with Leslie H. on the Pretty Woman date. She was so friendly, kind and down-to-earth. I think she said, "Holy moly" at least a dozen times because of the extravagance of the date and she was grateful to be on it with me.

I really enjoyed my day and had fun shopping with her. The conversation was effortless and she made me laugh a lot, but I never found the spark I was looking for. Sending her home was one of the more difficult things I had to do all season because I knew she didn't see it coming. I admired and respected Leslie for so many reasons, but I knew she wasn't the one for me.

The cocktail party was eventful to say the least! There was more drama with Tierra and the girls, which I did not know about at the time, and a big turning point for Catherine and me. She always stood out in my mind as someone very unique and different. She tapped into my inner nerd, which I loved, but I was afraid that she was putting me in the "friend zone" because every time I tried to show her affection, it didn't feel like she would reciprocate. And yes, that's right everyone Ė I'm a nerd. Deal with it.
Aggressive Friend Zone
Anyway, I was surprised when Catherine gave me the card with a kiss of lipstick on it. I'd call that "aggressive friend zone." She told me she wanted to kiss me but couldn't while the other girls were in sight. She was so nervous that she buried her head in my chest and wouldn't look up. After a few seconds I told her, "It's okay to look up," and then we had our first kiss.

What you didn't see was her excitement after. She was giddy and suggested that we frolic Ė definitely the first time I received that request, so I obliged. We skipped around the driveway ... and then played Dungeons and Dragons (not really).

At the rose ceremony I was left with another tough decision but one I was confident in making. I sent Amanda home because I just didn't feel a lasting connection with her. Until the show aired, I had no idea that she was a source of drama in the house. Amanda was always very sweet around me and I wish her all the best in the future.

Thanks for watching!
Sean

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor' episode 5

This is always an exciting time in the season for all of us here at The Bachelor. Itís that time when I get to walk in and let the ladies know itís time to pack our bags and hit the road for the remainder of this adventure. There is always a period of time during a season when you realize things have changed. I often donít fully realize just how pivotal this time really is until I have time to reflect upon it. The next three episodes were really pivotal time for Sean, as well as for the women. So, itís with that in mind that we begin this very special two-day Bachelor marathon.

I woke the ladies up early the morning after the last rose ceremony to let them know they had just a couple hours to pack their bags to leave for Whitefish, Montana. I have loved the experience of traveling all around the world with this show. We have been to many incredible places, but to me itís the little diamonds in the rough that we stumble upon that really turn me on. Whitefish is this quaint little fishing and ski town that sits right below Glacier National Park and it is truly a great example of a beautiful diamond in the rough.

Lindsay got the first one-on-one date this week. Sheís an interesting woman to watch this season, and itís hard to figure out exactly who she is. The first night she was so goofy with the wedding dress stunt that Sean nearly sent her home right away. Yet, here she is, and after this date with Sean sheís now one of the front-runners. Sean definitely likes the ladies that make life easy on him and have a good sense of humor and Lindsay fits that bill. She easily secured the rose and then the date spilled out into the streets of Whitefish for what I think is one of the coolest moments of the season. Just about the entire town of Whitefish gathered on Main Street in front of a stage we built for a concert with country star Sara Darling.

Sara put on a great show and then afterwards waited around to greet anybody who wanted to say Hi or get an autograph. Afterwards many of the fans and several of us found one of the local watering holes and the party and good times went deep into the night long after Sean and Lindsay went home. I really love how in some of our dates we are able to really embrace and involve a community like this.

The group date was a big redneck relay race. The women were so excited when they walked up to me that day. It was funny to watch their faces as I explained to them all the things they would have to do during this race, but nothing hit them harder than when I told them somebody would have to drink goat milk. I love Lesleyís attitude about it, though, when she said, ďIím gonna chug that goatís milk like itís my job.Ē Desiree and Lesley are two women that donít care what it takes. They will go to great lengths to get time with Sean. The actual race was a bit of a disaster, especially the canoe race. Apparently the women involved have never seen such a contraption before, much less ever been in one.

The race came down to the red team having to drink the goat milk to win. Thatís when Desiree, by herself, began to chug the goatís milk ďlike it was her job.Ē It was disgusting to stand there and watch that. I was trying to make sure she was drinking most of it but I was almost gagging watching it. Interested to know your thoughts on Sean later inviting the losing blue team to join the winning red team at the party. Was this another case of Sean being too nice, or as AshLee said, was it a case of Sean really wanting to see some of the girls on that blue team? Either way, the move didnít go over well with the red team that felt they had earned that time with him. As if inviting the other team wasnít bad enough, Sean then gave the rose to one of the women that needed to be emotionally rescued and reassured. We have seen Sean do this several times this season with Tierra and itís becoming a pattern that the ladies are noticing.

Tierra and Jackie learned they were the unlucky ones who would be going on the dreaded two-on-one date this season. There will be a lot said about Tierra this season and I may be hammered by people for saying this, but the woman is good at what she does. It may not be pretty or nice, but if her goal is to stir up the pot get the other women off their games and ďwinĒ Sean, then sheís doing just that. She snuck over to the group date party the night before her date just to steal a little time with Sean to plant the seed for the next day. While all the other women are going crazy talking about Tierra to Sean sheís able to perfectly play the victim. I donít feel like sweet little Jackie ever stood a chance against a professional assassin like Tierra. It was a mismatch from the start and as much as fans didnít want to see it, the unthinkable happened, and Sean kept TierraÖ again.

The cocktail party was a complete disaster this week. It was really the boiling point for all involved. The ladies finally had enough of Tierraís antics and Sean finally had enough of all of it. You saw a brief bit of the ladies having it out with Tierra, but there was much of it you didnít see. The battle got extremely intense and lasted for hours and spilled from room to room. Sean was beginning to get really aggravated by all the drama and he also caught a firsthand glimpse at Tierra in full beat-down mode. The night, and really the week in general, was not a good one for Sean. When I sat down with him he was not in a good place and was questioning his entire journey. This is one of those times where my experience really pays off. Sean didnít need a confrontational deliberation this night. He needed to be questioned, but also just reassured that this too would pass. Sean said goodbye to Robyn at the rose ceremony but he honestly considered saying goodbye to the whole thing.

So after a really rough week in the beautiful town of Whitefish itís off to Lake Louise in Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada to try to turn this thing around. Remember, this was just night one of a two night Bachelor extravaganza. Tonight, at a special time, 9 p.m. (8 p.m. Central) you will get to see our week in Canada, and while things turn around itís not without its fair share of drama, tears, running mascara and, yes, paramedics. Iíll see you again tonight and Iíll have another blog up tomorrow to wrap up the show. As usual you can always find me on Twitter and instagram @chrisbharrison.

THE WINTER WONDERLAND OF ALBERTA, CANADA, IS THE BACKDROP FOR BIG DRAMA AND SHOCKING ELIMINATIONS, AS SEAN COMES TO A HEARTBREAKING DECISION, ONABC'S "THE BACHELOR" The Two-Night Bachelor Event Concludes Tuesday, February 5,At a Special Time, 9:00-11:00 p.m., ET with an All-New Episode
"Episode 1706" - The two-night "Bachelor" special event concludes as Sean continues his journey around the world to find love, taking the nine remaining bachelorettes to spectacular Alberta, Canada. Catherine gets the first one-on-one date in Canada, meeting Sean on a remote glacier at Jasper National Park, followed by a fairy tale dinner in a magnificent ice castle. On the group date, Sean implores the seven women to strip down to their bathing suits and take a polar bear plunge in icy cold Lake Louise, but there are a few women who cause problems. The evening ends with Sean supplying an unexpected surprise. Desiree receives a terrifying individual date when the couple needs to rappel 400 feet down a cliff in Banff National Park. Nerves are at an all-time high, and Sean's feelings are growing for all of the women, but six will remain at the end of the night, on "The Bachelor," TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 5 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Catherine and Sean share a romantic tryst on a glacier in Jasper National Park as they are set to embark on a rugged joy ride in a monster snow truck. But will the blizzard-like weather freeze their chance to spark a connection? The winter fairy tale continues as they travel to a sparkling ice castle built just for them-even down to the roses frozen in the ice. Catherine will attempt to show her more serious side in hopes of melting Sean's heart and snagging a rose.

Sean leads seven women on a breathtaking canoe ride across the pristine glacial waters of Lake Louise. But then the Bachelor reveals his big surprise: he invites them to strip down to their swimsuits and jump into the near-freezing waters of the lake in a spine-chilling polar bear plunge. One woman refuses to participate, and yet another does but comes up "blue" and needs medical attention. She still shows up at the after party, but will this damsel in distress win a rose? Or will Sean reward another woman with whom he has forged a romantic connection?

The night isn't over, and Sean realizes that his relationship with one woman has run its course. Out of compassion, he feels he needs to say good-bye now. Feeling that this is for the best, he tries to let the devastated bachelorette down easy.

The next day, bubbly Desiree can't wait to get her second one-on-one date with Sean, but she might not feel the same when he takes her on a harrowing rappelling adventure down a terrifying 400-foot cliff. After the challenge, the two share an intimate conversation in a warm teepee hidden in the woods. Will Desiree open up and be more vulnerable with Sean or continue to push him away?

The drama ramps up as the rose ceremony draws close. It all leads to heart-wrenching and shocking exits. But the final six women get ready to pack their bags to travel to beautiful St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The nine women are:
AshLee, 32, personal organizer, Houston, TX
Catherine, 26, graphic designer, Seattle, WA
Daniella, 24, commercial casting associate, San Francisco, CA
Desiree, 26, bridal stylist, Los Angeles, CA
Lesley M., 25, political consultant, Washington, DC
Lindsay, 24, substitute teacher, Fort Leonard Wood, MO
Sarah, 26, advertising executive, Los Angeles, CA
Selma, 29, real estate developer, San Diego, CA
Tierra, 24, leasing consultant, Denver, CO

The Bachelor: Sean Lowe Blogs About His Montana Dates

By Sean Lowe

02/05/2013 at 08:15 AM EST

Sean Lowe is the star of season 17 of The Bachelor, which airs Mondays on ABC. The hunky Dallas businessman and entrepreneur will be blogging about his romantic journey for PEOPLE.com.

I couldn't wait to start my week in Montana on The Bachelor. The L.A. dates were fun, but I wanted to get away and experience new things with the women.

Whitefish, Mont., is one of the coolest towns I have ever visited. The mountains, trees and rivers made this the perfect destination for romance. And I'm an outdoorsy guy, so I knew I would really connect with the women that shared a similar appreciation for nature.

My first date with Lindsay couldn't have gone better. We both felt so comfortable around each other and being together just felt right. We took the helicopter to the mountaintop of Glacier National Park, which was one of the coolest things I've ever done, and we set up our picnic. What you didn't get to see on TV was Lindsay and I wrestling! This tiny girl told me that she wrestled in high school, so of course I had to challenge her to a match. I've got about 100 lbs. on her, but she still took me down. I love Lindsay's playful and fun spirit, and it's what really separated her from everyone else.

We had even more fun that evening. She opened up about her dad being away while serving in Iraq and the fear that came with that. She also told me of her mother's strength and how she held the family together during her his absence. It finally clicked for me as to where Lindsay's supportive and caring nature comes from. Every other girl would hound me about getting a one-on-one date and Lindsay never did. Instead, she would always remind me that she's not going anywhere and she thinks it's good that I get to know everyone else so that I'll eventually learn that she's the one for me. We ended the night dancing in the town square. It was one of the most memorable nights of my life. Lindsay definitely solidified herself as a front-runner in my mind.

Group Date

The group date was a lot of fun. The girls were much more excited about the relay race than they were for roller derby. Watching them try to canoe, chop wood and milk a goat was hilarious! Every girl gave it all she had and so I was sad to see the blue team go home. I remember going home after losing the sailing completion in Bermuda and it was a terrible feeling. Time is a valuable commodity and no one wants to lose it.

After getting ready for the evening, I couldn't stop thinking about the women of the blue team. And then it hit me Ė I couldn't let a silly race affect my time with these women. After all, I agreed to be the Bachelor in hopes of finding my wife, and it wasn't fair to me to miss out on time with them at this stage in the journey just because they lost a race. So I made the executive decision to bring the blue team back, which obviously upset everyone on the red team. I didn't enjoy hurting their feelings, but I knew it was the right thing to do.

The standout of the night was Daniella. She showed me the vulnerability that I had been looking for. And then there's Tierra ... I had no idea she was going to surprise me and I certainly wasn't ready for it. I didn't know what to think about her visit, mostly because I was in shock seeing her there and knew the other women would be upset if they found out. But I was also flattered that she made the effort. I definitely was not seeing the same person the other women saw.

Two-on-One Date

The dreaded two-on-one date was awkward from the beginning. Trying to show each girl attention during the date was not easy and it was anything but fun. Tierra definitely had the edge on Jackie going into the date, but I was still very open-minded. Jackie is a quiet person who had a hard time standing out. I knew she was sweet and good-looking, but I didn't know much else. I was really hoping that she would break out of her shell on that date and show me something I'd yet to see, but that never came.

When it came time to make the decision on who gets the rose it was pretty obvious that Tierra was my girl. Keep in mind, I had no idea that the other women disliked her so much! I knew she had a hard time fitting in, but I wasn't privy to the fact that she was simply not nice to the other girls. Things would've been different if I had seen those actions.

Rose Ceremony

The rose ceremony frustrated me because no one would give me specific reasons why Tierra was not good for me. I was listening to what they had to say, but they weren't supporting their opinions with any details. I was in the dark and I chalked up their disdain for her to Tierra simply being out of place in this environment. The decision to send Robyn home wasn't easy because I truly enjoyed our time together, but I also knew that we didn't share the same chemistry that I had in my other relationships. I had no idea that she had gotten into a fight with Tierra and I definitely didn't send her home because I thought she created drama. It simply came down to chemistry.

I left Montana really down on this whole experience. It was the first time I really grew concerned that my potential wife was not amongst this group of women and that I had wasted everyone's time, including my own. I was over the drama, over the women talking about the drama, and just wanted to refocus my energy on what mattered Ė finding a partner that I could see myself with for a lifetime.

We travel to Canada on the next episode, which airs at a special day and time Ė Tuesday (9 p.m. ET) on ABC.

Thanks for watching!
- Sean

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor' episode 6
by Chris Harrison

I hope that everybody is still employed and okay after two straight days of Bachelor drama. I know thatís a lot of boxed wine and chocolate consumed in a very short time period. This week, we left the quaint little town of Whitefish, Montana for the breathtaking vistas of Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. The Fairmont Lake Louise is one of the more majestic places we have stayed in all our trips around the world. If you ever get the chance to see the crystal blue waters and the mountains that surround this lake, you really need to do so.

Catherine got the first one-on-one date this week. Sheís an interesting figure in the house as we really havenít had the opportunity see her that much and donít really know her that well, nor does Sean. So this was a pivotal date for her to show him what sheís all about. The date they went on was easily one of the coldest weíve ever had. I put it up there with Aliís two-on-one date on a glacier in Iceland. It was absolutely brutal with the wind blowing ice sideways. Catherine could have been a diva and complained and I donít think anybody would have blamed her. Instead, she took it all in stride and made the best of it and had Sean laughing and smiling all day. At night, in this incredible ice castle that we had constructed just outside the hotel just for them, Catherine also showed Sean she has a deeper side as she opened up about a tragedy from her childhood. This date definitely helped Sean forget about last weekís rough times and get him back on the right track.

Then it was time for the group date. This weekís group date, the polar bear plunge, may have seemed like torture, but turned out to be inspiring. After canoeing across Lake Louise, Sean shared with the ladies that they would be stripping down and jumping in the freezing cold waters. Whether reluctant or not all the ladies, except Selma, decided to take the plunge. This is something that would end up biting her in the backside later.

Weíve already had paramedics involved in the show this season but on this date they were on hand prior to the date starting, just to be safe. I guess it was a good thing we did because guess what happened?  Yep, Tierra needed attention after the plunge into the cold waters. Itís hard to tell where the truth ends and the drama begins with Tierra, but in this case it was probably somewhere between getting back to the hotel and the time Sean crawled into bed with her to once again console her and make sure she was okay. You have to admit sheís good at pulling the wool over Seanís eyes and getting his attention.

The big news out of this group date was Sean deciding to say goodbye to Sarah. I respect Sean for not taking the easy way out in this instance and waiting for the rose ceremony to let her go. He respected Sarah too much not to let her know immediately, and do it in a personal way. It was heart-wrenching to hear Sarah say what she did on the way out. Sheís a sweet girl and I know Sean really does wish her the best. It was also a big surprise when Sean decided to give Desiree another one-on-one date before all the girls had a chance to have one. Sean really felt like Desiree needed some reassurance so he wanted to give her another date. It turned out to be a good call, as they had an amazing date that ended up a tree, as all good dates should. Itís really interesting this season, as Sean seems to have so many strong relationships going at the same time.

Itís pretty shocking considering how good some of their dates have been that Selma, Sarah and Daniella were all sent home this week. Selma really didnít do herself any favors by not taking the polar bear plunge, but thatís not what sunk her relationship. I think it was the way she explained to Sean that once she makes up her mind she doesnít change it ó no matter what. Sean is looking for a free spirit that will let go and make him laugh. He just didnít see that in Selma or Sarah. We left Los Angeles just a couple weeks ago with eleven women and weíre now down to just six as we head for the blue waters of St. Croix. While the weather is warm and rum is cold, the drama looms large as we head towards what turns out to easily be the most emotional, pivotal episode so far. Thanks for watching this special two-night Bachelor extravaganza. We now take you back to your regularly scheduled programming on Monday nights. For more loviní in the meantime, you can always find me on twitter and instagram @chrisbharrison.

Sean Lowe Blogs: Selma's 'Unwillingness to Compromise' Cost Her a Rose

Sean Lowe is the star of season 17 of The Bachelor, which airs Mondays on ABC. The hunky Dallas businessman and entrepreneur will be blogging about his romantic journey for PEOPLE.com.

I was anxious to get to Canada and forget all about my discouraging week filming The Bachelor in Montana. It started off so promising with Lindsay and then quickly unraveled with the drama surrounding Tierra. Canada was my chance for a clean slate, and I was eager to start the week off on a great first date with Catherine.

I had just recently started to develop real feelings for Catherine. Our relationship was slower to develop than some of the others, but being with her felt natural. There was never a shortage of laughs, and she seemed like someone who truly fit the "best friend" description I had been searching for.

Between driving the ice bus, sledding down hills and drinking hot cocoa, our glacier date was perfect and so much fun. We turned up the romance that evening in our ice castle. We were able to bounce between serious moments and goofy moments so well. The night ended with kisses in the falling snow and I didn't want to say goodnight. The date helped put me back in a positive mental state. I felt hopeful again.

Icy Group Date
I want a girl who isn't afraid to step outside of her comfort zone and will seize the moment. That's why the "polar bear plunge" was the perfect group date. Nobody wants to jump in freezing cold water Ė I know I didn't! Ė but I was looking to see who would step up and make a memory that will last forever. It was absolutely freezing that day. The air temperature was right at 32 degrees and the wind was blowing. The canoe ride alone made me want to head back to the hotel where it was warm.

Some of the women were willing to jump in the water, others were more reluctant Ė and then there was Selma. It didn't bother me that she didn't want to participate. It bothered me that she didn't even consider it. Later she told me that when she says no, nothing can change her mind. As if that's a good thing! I thought you were supposed to compromise and talk things through in a marriage. That reasoning was a large part of why I didn't give Selma a rose that week.

Anyway, we all took the plunge, and almost everyone was glad they did. Except Tierra, of course. She was whisked away by medics and I honestly thought she was experiencing hypothermia. In hindsight, I'm not so sure ... but she played the part well.

Later that evening I was convinced of something: I knew Sarah was not the one for me and I needed to send her home. I could have waited for the rose ceremony, but I wanted to explain myself. I didn't think it was fair to make her wait two more days when I'd already made up my mind.

Sending Sarah home was one of the hardest things I did during the season. It hurts me that she left feeling the way she did. She's such a beautiful, bright woman, and some man is going to love her forever. I just knew that man wasn't me.
Date with Des
My final date of the week was with Des. She and I had chemistry from the beginning. I was anxious to spend the day with her because she started to lose confidence in our relationship in Montana. She's another woman I always have fun with. Between repelling down a mountainside, having a picnic in a meadow and climbing a tree, I couldn't have imagined a better date.

That evening we had dinner in the coolest teepee, tucked away in a forest of the Canadian Rockies. She opened up to me about her childhood and how growing up with very little money has made her who she is today. It made perfect sense to me after hearing her story why Des sometimes hides her true feelings behind a smile. She probably had to put on a brave face during tough times as a kid.

I found myself wanting to be the man that supports her and makes her feel safe. Des and I finished the evening kissing and making finger puppets on the walls of our teepee. Once again, she was at the top of my list.

Tough Goodbyes
The rose ceremony was tough because I had to say goodbye to two great girls. I never imagined sending Selma home. After our one-on-one date in Joshua Tree, I thought she might be the one. But in the end, her unwillingness to compromise told me that she probably wasn't the girl for me.

And Daniella was equally as hard to say goodbye to, because she was so much fun to be with. We just ran out of time. Our relationship started too late and my feelings for the remaining women were a little bit stronger.

I can tell you, though, I felt so much better about the future after leaving Canada than I did leaving Montana. I felt rejuvenated and hopeful, and the women seemed to have their focus back on love.

Thanks for watching!
Sean

THE BIGGEST MELTDOWN IN "BACHELOR" HISTORY TAKES CENTER STAGE
AS HOMETOWN DATES LOOM DURING A HOT TRIP TO ST. CROIX FOR SEAN
AND THE SIX REMAINING WOMEN, ON ABC'S "THE BACHELOR"

"Episode 1707" - The pressure mounts as the crucial hometown dates loom, but before returning stateside, Sean takes the remaining six bachelorettes to romantic St. Croix. AshLee not only risks revealing a secret about her past, but also decides to go on the attack when it comes to Tierra. Tierra, feeling anxious about her relationship with Sean and how the drama with the other women will influence his decision, desperately discloses something that will shock him. Lesley's individual date has her re-thinking her strategy. Sean, confused over whom he should send home, invites his sister to St. Croix to help him sort through his feelings. A huge drama erupts at the hotel and Sean knows what he must do, dropping two bombshells and leaving the four women who will take him home to meet his families, on "The Bachelor," MONDAY, FEBRUARY 11 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Sean scoops up AshLee for a romantic ride on a catamaran to a private island. They seem to be falling more and more in love. Sean feels so comfortable with AshLee that he asks her about the drama between the other women, and she wastes no time in trashing Tierra. However that night AshLee decides to share something about her past that might jeopardize her chance at getting a hometown date.

Tierra and Sean meet on the streets of St. Croix and explore the town. Sean takes this opportunity to ask his date about the rumors he has heard about her behavior, but she is quite unapologetic. But now Tierra is apprehensive about her chances of getting a hometown date, and takes a calculated risk divulging a stunning bit of information. But will it be enough?

Sean surprises three women, waking them up at 4:00 a.m. so they can go see the sunrise at the easternmost point of the U.S. During the day, the group travels across the island in time to see the sunset at the western edge of St. Croix. Each woman gets quality time with Sean. One bachelorette opens up about a dark family secret. Another woman breaks down talking about her family. But one makes a clear impression, gets the rose and captures a hometown date.

On the final day on the island, Sean hopes to push his relationship with Lesley along, feeling that it is behind the others. After exploring the ruins of the Mt. Washington sugar plantation, he asks her if there is anything else she would like to say. She worries about not sharing her true feelings with Sean and hopes that it won't keep her from taking him home to meet her family.

Sean's sister, Shay, journeys to St. Croix to help her brother sort out his feelings, and cautions him about what kind of woman would not be good for him. Meanwhile, two women are going at each other, one accusing the other of sabotaging her time with Sean. The accusation escalates into the biggest meltdown in "Bachelor" history. Sean, however, doesn't have any idea what happened at the hotel, but soon sends a shockwave through the group. The women are panicked about what lies ahead at the rose ceremony and break into tears with self-doubt as they wonder what the Bachelor is really looking for in a soul mate. But Sean manages to narrow the field to the four lucky bachelorettes who will take him to their hometowns to meet their families.

The six women are:
AshLee, 32, personal organizer, Houston, TX
Catherine, 26, graphic designer, Seattle, WA
Desiree, 26, bridal stylist, Los Angeles, CA
Lesley M., 25, political consultant, Washington, DC
Lindsay, 24, substitute teacher, Fort Leonard Wood, MO
Tierra, 24, leasing consultant, Denver, CO

SEAN JOINS THE FOUR REMAINING BACHELORETTES IN THEIR HOMETOWNS,
ONLY TO HAVE THEIR FAMILIES QUESTION HIS INTENTIONS WHEN IT COMES
TO THEIR DAUGHTERS' FUTURE HAPPINESS, ON ABC'S "THE BACHELOR"

"Episode 1708" - Back in the U.S. after a whirlwind trip from Los Angeles to Montana to Canada to St. Croix, the stakes are high as Sean crisscrosses the country on an exciting, emotionally charged journey to visit the final four women's hometowns. AshLee and Sean enjoy an emotional afternoon with her family in Houston. The Bachelor isn't received with open arms by all of Catherine's family in Seattle. Lindsay's intimidating father meets Sean on his turf - Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, where he is a two-star general. And when Sean hits Los Angeles, he is blindsided by Desiree's ex-boyfriend. The rollercoaster ride ends when he must make a gut-wrenching decision to narrow the field to three women - one of whom he believes will be his wife -- on "The Bachelor," MONDAY, FEBRUARY 18 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

This week is extremely important to Sean, as family is a crucial part of the relationship equation for him. His journey starts in Houston, meeting AshLee for a romantic picnic. She has already shared that she is madly in love with him, but how will her adoptive parents feel about it? The emotional connection between AshLee and her father is so powerful, Sean wonders if he ever will be able to gain this man's trust.

Catherine and Sean spend a relaxing day tooling around her hometown of Seattle. He even scores points with her family when he offers her grandmother a traditional greeting from the Asian culture. But not everyone is won over. Will Catherine be able to convince her mother and sisters that her feelings for Sean are for real - or will they try to scare Sean away?

Sean journeys next to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, where the ebullient Lindsay takes him on a tour of the small town while answering his questions about her father, a two-star general who runs the entire Army base. In preparation for meeting her dad, Lindsay runs Sean through a battery of basic training drills. All prepped to meet the current main man in Lindsay's life, Sean wonders if the general will welcome him into the family ranks, or if his disapproval will cause an abrupt about-face in Sean's future hopes for his daughter.

Finally, Sean stops in Sherman Oaks, California, for a day of hiking and cooking with Desiree. Everything is going well until - uh oh - Desiree's ex-boyfriend shows up and demands to have a word with her. Then Sean also must withstand a withering attack by Desiree's brother, as he insults and disapproves of him. How will his belligerent behavior affect Sean's decision?

Headed to the rose ceremony, Sean still needs to decide which woman to send home. One woman, fearing that she might be the one to leave, makes a desperate move, snagging Sean for a talk. Will it be enough to save her? One devastated bachelorette makes a heartbreaking exit. Although he needed to make a painful decision, Sean and the final three women toast to heading to their next exotic and romantic destination: Thailand.

The four women are:
AshLee, 32, personal organizer, Houston, TX
Catherine, 26, graphic designer, Seattle, WA
Desiree, 26, bridal stylist, Los Angeles, CA
Lindsay, 24, substitute teacher, Fort Leonard Wood, MO

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor' episode 7

Itís kind of interesting to see that when you have a force in the house, either negative or positive, it really makes it hard to talk about much else. Over the last several weeks Tierra has obviously become such a huge force, and not much of it is positive. Before we delve into the force that is, or was, Tierra on this show, letís set the stage a bit. We left the cold waters of Lake Louise in Alberta and headed to one of the U.S. Virgin Islands, St. Croix. This place is beautiful. The town is great and the beaches at the Buccaneer Hotel were as perfect as the local spiced Cruzan rum. Luckily I was able to enjoy much of both. If you get the chance to swing by St. Croix someday make sure you attend the crab races at one of the local watering holes. Itís a good time for the entire family.

AshLee got the first one-on-one date this week. Sean and AshLee took a boat to this really popular spot for tourists, a little private island called Buck Island. The island is surrounded by a reef that is a preserve and is protected by the government. Itís a great place to snorkel, swim, or roll around on the beach and make out like youíre in a Hollywood movie. AshLee became the first to really open up to Sean and say Ė make that, stand up and yell ó that she loves Sean. What most of us really took from this date was Ash stepping up and finally telling Sean all that needed to be said about Tierra. Sean was obviously beginning to wonder just how bad things were with her. I think hearing from a mature woman like AshLee how bad itís been really made him question his perspective.Tierra was on the next one-on-one and things obviously werenít the same between them. It was interesting that Sean didnít really notice, but Tierra certainly knew something was up. Tierra has always been able to save every awkward situation with Sean and turn things in her favor. She actually did it again this time, but not quite as convincingly. I think in the past Sean really wanted to believe in this girl, but this time was different. He was still very skeptical after their date was over. You have to understand, Sean really liked Tierra from the moment she got out of the limo. This immediate attraction kind of blinded him to things he didnít want to see in the first place. But finally Sean had to open his eyes and deal with it.

The group date, at this point in the process, is sheer torture. This time the date truly was torture for the ladies, who were awakened for their date at 4:45 a.m. by Sean, with a camera. Now, I donít know the laws for justifiable homicide in St. Croix, but when a man youíre dating busts in your room at 4:45 and starts snapping pictures of you, Iíd say youíd be able to make a very strong case. I have to give it up to Sean a bit here. His villa was right next to mine and he got home from his date with Tierra well after midnight and I heard him get up and going at 4:00 a.m. He was a trouper the entire time, but this was a brutal turnaround for him.

The date was pretty spectacular and they were all grateful once they got to Point Udall and watched the sun come up. This late in the game nobody wants to be on a group date. These ladies were really lucky they get along so well, because it made it tolerable. All the women opened up to Sean but in the end Lindsay got the rose. (At the rose ceremony Des and Catherine also got roses, so it wasnít much of a worry for any of them.)

The last few weeks Tierra has been able to hold it all together and really swing the overall situation in her favor, but she was a ticking time bomb. Well, her time ran out in St Croix. Iíll be interested to hear your perspective on the verbal battle between AshLee and Tierra. The funny thing is when Sean walked into the mess that was Tierra at this point, all he really wanted to do was introduce her to his sister, Shay. Yes, he was skeptical, but at this point he was still looking for a reason to keep Tierra ó and my guess is if she hadnít been a mess after her fight with AshLee, Tierra could have pulled off the meeting with Seanís sister and maybe even gotten a hometown date. But Tierra was a mess when Sean walked in and he had just had enough. A guy will defend a girl and put her back together only so long. Sean reached his breaking point, so instead of going to meet Shay, Tierra was sent packing. I found it interesting that through it all Tierra always felt she was the victim. She never took any responsibility for anything that took place. Iím really looking forward to talking with Tierra at the Women Tell All special to get her perspective on everything that took place. Iíll be interested to see if, after watching it all herself, sheíll still feel the same way or if sheíll have a different perspective.

I know Tierra is the talk of the town, but I have to give service to the other woman who said goodbye this week, Lesley. Sean really had feelings for her and they no doubt had chemistry. Lesley had fallen in love with Sean and wanted so badly to let him know that it actually ruined their date a bit. She was so consumed with how and when she was going to tell him she ended up being reserved and sending the wrong message to Sean. She was so scared of failure she didnít allow herself a chance to succeed. Communication is so important in a relationship and this date really magnifies that point. I also look forward to talking with Lesley at the Tell All, as Iím sure she regrets not opening up and just expressing her feelings. If she had, Iím pretty sure she wouldíve gotten a rose and a hometown date.

So after the fall of Tierra, Catherine, Desiree, Lindsay, and AshLee will take Sean back to their hometowns to meet their families. These women all have very different family dynamics and it is a very interesting week ahead for Sean. You would think after this week and sending Tierra home the drama would be over and it would be smooth sailing for SeanÖ well, think again. Things are about to get crazier than ever. Iíll see you next week, but in the meantime you can always keep up with me and the show via Instagram and Twitter @chrisbharrison and check out our exclusive cast blogs at the official Bachelor website.

The Bachelor's Sean Lowe Blogs About His Dates in St. Croix
by Sean Lowe

Sean Lowe is the star of season 17 of The Bachelor, which airs Mondays on ABC. The hunky Dallas businessman and entrepreneur is blogging about his romantic journey for PEOPLE.com.

I'd developed really strong feelings for the final six women on The Bachelor Ė and I could hardly wait to take them to St. Croix. Our previous week in Canada was great! My heart and head were back on track, and I felt as though the women put their focus back on me. And because of that, each of my relationships grew stronger.

But it was time to leave the cold weather behind and move on to some sandy beaches. This was a huge week for all of us because I would have to decide whose family I was ready to meet.

I had three one-on-one dates and one group date in St. Croix. I decided to give the one-on-one dates to women I had questions for Ė and the group date went to the women whose hometowns I was ready to visit.

My first date was with AshLee, who was a front-runner in my mind since we visited the theme park back in Los Angeles. She is sweet, loving and compassionate, and I knew she truly wanted to give her heart over to me. But I was still left with doubts about our relationship because I didn't seem to have as much fun with her as I did with the other women.

Given her traumatic childhood, it's understandable why AshLee has control issues. But I think that was preventing her from really letting go and allowing herself to have fun. I really want a partner that I can laugh uncontrollably with and someone who can make even mundane tasks feel exciting. I hoped AshLee had that quality in her, or that I brought it out in her, and I was ready to find out.

After taking the catamaran to the island, AshLee decided to take one for the team and tell me everything I needed to know about Tierra. Until that point, I had only heard the women say they didn't like Tierra, but they never gave specific reasons. It was actually a huge relief to hear all that AshLee had to say. It took a lot of courage for her to bring it up.

That evening, we ended our date with an oceanside dinner where she screamed her love for me while standing on a chair. For the first time, I felt like AshLee was finally letting go and stepping out of her comfort zone for me. I left that date thinking once again that AshLee might be the woman for me.
Connecting with Tierra
Next was my long-awaited date with Tierra. I had a lot of fun with her that day walking around the streets of St. Croix, but I couldn't shake what AshLee had told me. That night, as we had a romantic dinner in an old sugar mill, I tried to really figure out what my feelings were for Tierra, and if I could see a future for us.

I was nervous that if I ended up with Tierra, drama would follow her into our everyday lives. But when she told me she was falling in love with me, I softened a bit. She was always kind when she was with me, and I wanted to believe that the drama was circumstantial and that once she wasn't around a bunch of girls dating the same guy, she would be drama-free. I still ended the evening with questions, but remembering that my connection with Tierra was strong.
Group Date
The following day was the group date with Des, Lindsay and Catherine. I didn't have a lot of questions for these three women. They all have one thing in common: I always have fun with them. Since the beginning I've said that I want to marry my best friend, and they definitely fit that criterion.

We spent the day traveling and touring the island in a Jeep. At the end of the day, I really didn't know who I would give the rose to because they were all so deserving. But I decided to give it to Lindsay because she was so supportive, patient and encouraging throughout this entire journey.

My last date of the week was with Lesley. She was another person who fit the best-friend criteria, but I needed to see more from her. Lesley had a wall up and I always felt like she couldn't be completely vulnerable with me.

Our date was fun, but I needed more than fun. I desperately wanted to see her open up emotionally and allow me to see her true feelings, but that never happened. I was shocked to hear her say on TV that she loved me, and I was left confused as to why she didn't tell me that during our date. Had she told me, it could have changed everything.
Sisterly Advice
I flew my sister, Shay, to St. Croix for her birthday. She loves the show (she signed me up for The Bachelorette!), and I thought it would be a cool present for her. She is also a great judge of character and she knows me better than anyone else.

My sister's advice before I left Dallas for L.A. was to avoid the girl whom drama surrounded. After hearing everything that AshLee had to say about Tierra, I thought it would be a good idea to have my sister sit down and visit with Tierra so I could get her opinion.

I had no idea what I was walking into upon entering the women's suite. I was not aware of the big blowout AshLee and Tierra just had. I found Tierra crying on her bed with her head in her hands. I had already figured by this point that Tierra was not the woman I was going to marry, so when I saw how distraught she was, I knew I had to end it right then and there.

I still believe Tierra has more good in her than people see, but I also recognize that she doesn't have the maturity or social skills necessary to make it on The Bachelor.

When it came time to send someone home at the rose ceremony, I felt confident in my decision. As much as I enjoyed spending time with Lesley, I knew I had to send her home because she never allowed herself to open up emotionally.

I was sad to see Lesley leave, but I felt so confident in my final four. Knowing hometown dates were right around the corner, I was incredibly excited. I loved bringing Emily home to meet my family, and it changed everything for me, so I had really high hopes for the coming week. On to hometowns!

Thanks for watching!
Sean

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor' episode 8
by Chris Harrison

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water now that Tierra is gone, we take you to hometowns. The truly interesting thing about this week was the incredibly different dynamic each womanís hometown possessed. Sean started things off in his home state of Texas, meeting AshLeeís family in Houston. As Sean said, Ash has been a frontrunner since day one and itís easy to tell how much in love she is with Sean. The experience of being on The Bachelor is so unique and hard to explain, I find it compelling when these women ó who are so engrossed in their journey ó try to convey to their families how madly in love they are.

AshLeeís parents are amazing on so many levels for what they have done for her. They are loving, caring people who opened their lives and loves and created a home for a little girl that needed it. To hear her dad tell the story of how he found her was incredible. As AshLee said, it is a true love story. Iíd say itís safe to say this was a successful hometown date on just about every level. AshLee came into this week as a frontrunner and it seems that sheís still right up there at the top in Seanís heart.

Up next for Sean were the ladies in Seattle. Catherine explained before this week that her dad isnít in the picture anymore so it would be just the women in her family. While Sean and AshLeeís relationship seems serious and mature, Seanís relationship with Catherine is fun, light and easy. They both seem to light each other up and thatís a great quality. One thing many fans should be satisfied with is the fact that Sean and Catherine ate on camera. I get asked all the time if they ever eat the food on these dates. The answer is yes but you donít always get to see it, so Iím happy you finally got to see some people eating.

One thing I really appreciated about Catherineís family is how serious they took this. They were very tough on Sean and Catherine and really examined their relationship. Catherineís mom didnít exactly give Sean an overwhelming warm feeling about this working out. Thatís the good thing about family though: they truly have your back. Sean left Seattle feeling great about Catherine but not exactly feeling great about the familyís feelings towards him. That would obviously weigh heavily on his final decision during the rose ceremony.

Seanís next stop was one of the most intriguing hometowns weíve ever had. Ever since Sean learned Lindsayís dad is a two star General in the United States Army he was thinking about what this hometown would be like. He was incredibly nervous about meeting Lindsayís dad, but what guy in his right mind wouldnít be? The man is a true American hero and Sean is talking about possibly stealing his little girl away. It was funny watching Sean try to figure out what to even call the man. All of a sudden he looked like a five year old because he was so nervous. In all seriousness, Iím glad we showed even a brief glimpse into military life in this country ó and let me take a moment to thank all the service men and women who serve our country and sacrifice so much for us. You could tell how nervous and on edge Sean was talking to Lindsayís dad. It took all he had to muster the courage to ask his permission to possibly marry his daughter. His answer to Seanís request was one of the best responses Iíve ever heard to that question: Youíve gotta have the authority to make the right decision. Turns out after being so nervous, Sean and Lindsayís dad really hit it off. Sean really appreciated Lindsayís dad extending the gift of the ID tags. This is a family Sean could easily see himself becoming a part of and that is something thatís very important to him.

The final hometown with Desiree was easily the most explosive, and in such a weird way. Sean felt so strongly about Des heading into this hometown I donít think any of us really thought anything could tear that down. The start of the date couldnít have gone better. It was kind of sadly ironic that Des played that practical joke on Sean with the fake ex-boyfriend being aggressive, because when the family showed up, it wasnít a joke and it got bizarrely worse. The odd part is, there was a conversation we didnít show between Sean and Desireeís brother that took place earlier in the night. The reason we didnít show it was it didnít make any sense to any of us. The conversation went really well and Desí brother was supportive and happy about their relationship. Then the guy did a 180 and just kind of lost it. When he got a chance to talk to Sean again he got really aggressive and a little verbally abusive, and Seanís not one to sit back and just take unfair abuse. Sean is also very sensitive about being considered a player. The guy was already on edge after the practical joke, and then to have her brother absolutely question his intentions and integrity was just a bit much for him to handle.

Seanís really big on picturing himself as a part of these families and as much as he didnít want this to affect his relationship with Des, I think it did. If you think about the two women he was struggling with sending home this week, it was the two families that he would probably have the toughest time fitting into. In the end I think itís safe to say that Desí brother sabotaged his sister and ruined their relationship. At this point in the game thereís very little separating these four women. Desí final plea really shook Sean up and, as you saw, made him second-guess what he was going to do. This was easily the toughest decision Seanís made so far. It was tough to see Desiree going home knowing she had done nothing wrong. It just didnít feel right watching them say goodbye. Des even said herself that Sean was making a huge mistake. Only time will tell if sheís right and if Sean will ultimately regret this decision.

Donít miss tonight, as we have a one-hour special, Sean Tells All. This special will go much deeper into his decision to let Des go. Itís really a great special that will answer a bunch of questions you might have about this season including, of course, Tierra. Youíll also get to see a lot of never-before-seen footage that will make you laugh as well as shed some light on decisions Sean has made throughout this process. I hope you will all tune in to check this out. Then, next week we are off to Thailand for some of the most spectacular dates in Bachelor history. See you there.

AS SEAN'S SEARCH FOR HIS SOUL MATE DRAWS TO A CLOSE, HE SWEEPS THE FINAL THREE BACHELORETTES AWAY FOR FANTASY OVERNIGHT DATES IN EXOTIC THAILAND, ON ABC'S "THE BACHELOR"

"Episode 1709" - Romantic adventures await Sean and the final three women - AshLee, Catherine and Lindsay - as they travel to spectacular Si Kao, Thailand. From an authentic Thai market with unusual foods to a secluded beach surrounded by a rain forest to a sexy afternoon boat ride on Thailand's sparkling waters, the dates are filled with passion and excitement as Sean continues to explore what his future would be like with each of these potential mates. At the end of the evening Sean will present each bachelorette with an invitation to spend an intimate night together in a "fantasy suite," with the hope that she will accept. But will she? This week finishes with Sean making his most painful decision yet and leaving one devastated and inconsolable bachelorette not talking to him at all, on "The Bachelor," MONDAY, FEBRUARY 25 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Sean's Southeast Asian adventure begins with his whisking Lindsay away to an authentic Thai market - featuring all kinds of strange food, fish and bugs. The couple even share a meal of crickets, but then head to a romantic beach where they can let their feelings show. That night Thai dancers perform especially for them. But will Lindsay finally proclaim her love for the Bachelor? The fantasy suite would be the perfect opportunity for her to open up to Sean -- but will she?

AshLee's dream date will end on a private beach encircled by a rainforest, but to get there, the couple will need to swim through a pitch-black cave. Sean knows this bachelorette has trouble letting go and waits to see how she will react to this type of adventure. However, when he offers up the fantasy suite card, the situation is even more tense. AshLee draws a moral line in the sand. How will Sean receive her declaration?

For his final date, Sean surprises Catherine with an afternoon boat ride through the gleaming waters around Thailand. Catherine tries to reassure Sean that she is ready for a commitment, but her family's doubts make him question her sincerity. Later that night, the couple imagine what a future life together might look like, but will Catherine take the ultimate leap of faith and accept the chance to stay in the fantasy suite with Sean?

The Bachelor decides to discuss the final three women and his upcoming decision with Chris Harrison. He feels he knows what he must do, but Chris implores him to watch the touching video messages each bachelorette has left him. Will that change his mind? In the most intense rose ceremony yet, Sean sends one woman home in tears, her heart and spirit crushed. She is so upset that she leaves without talking to him. The remaining two women look forward to meeting Sean's family in Thailand. Sean's quest for love is drawing to a close, but the question isn't only whom he will choose, but whether she'll accept.

The three women are:

AshLee, 32, personal organizer, Houston, TX
Catherine, 26, graphic designer, Seattle, WA
Lindsay, 24, substitute teacher, Fort Leonard Wood, MO

The Bachelor's Sean Lowe Blogs About Hometown Dates
By SEAN LOWE

Sean Lowe is the star of season 17 of The Bachelor, which airs Mondays on ABC. The hunky Dallas businessman and entrepreneur is blogging about his romantic journey for PEOPLE.com.

I was eager to start my week of hometown dates on The Bachelor. As hard as it was to say goodbye to Leslie at the rose ceremony in St. Croix, I was very confident that the remaining four women were the best for me.

I started my week in Houston with AshLee and her parents. She had been a frontrunner from the beginning because she was the type of woman I was looking for: loving, compassionate, sweet and nurturing. My only reservations were about AshLee's intensity and her inability to let loose and have fun.

After meeting her parents, I could see where her big heart comes from. Her mom and dad were both so kind and loving and I could tell they genuinely wanted their daughter to be happy. It was easy to imagine myself being part of her family. Despite not being as fun and carefree as the other women, AshLee's big heart and desire to love made me overlook it.

Catherine
I never wanted to say goodnight to Catherine. We always had a good time together and being around her was so easy and natural. I was thrilled to see her in at home in Seattle. We had so much fun walking through Pike's Place Market and I loved seeing her favorite spots. But meeting Catherine's family was pretty intimidating! They seemed skeptical about me and I'm not sure they believed that this could work. Her sisters also told me that Catherine had a strong desire to pursue a career in New York and that she may not be ready to settle down. I found it strange that they were telling me this, yet Catherine had never mentioned it. I'm all for supporting her dreams, but I wished she'd shared those dreams with me. I left Seattle knowing that I had a desire to be with Catherine, but just wasn't sure if our lives aligned.
Lindsay
Meeting Lindsay's family was something I had been thinking about for quite some time. Her father is a two-star general, but I was more eager to meet her mom. Lindsay has such strength and had been so supportive Ė and I knew she got that from her mom. Both parents were great. He was not the intimidating figure I imagined, and her mother was so warm and welcoming. My favorite member of Lindsay's family may have been her brother Marcus. He was the sweetest kid I've ever met and he made it clear he wanted me to be a part of their family. I was amazed at how well I fit in. They were so similar to my family and I felt so comfortable in their home. The girl in the wedding dress was now a clear frontrunner who had stolen my heart.

Desiree
Every time Desiree spoke of her family, she would get very emotional. It was easy to see how much she loved them and how badly she wanted what her parents have. The whole "boyfriend" coming to the house totally fooled me. In hindsight I should have seen it coming, but I totally bought it. At one moment I was almost positive I was going to have to throw the guy out or I was going to have to throw myself out because maybe Des wanted to be with him instead of me. I was relieved and pretty embarrassed to find out it was all a joke. Des definitely got me back for punking her on the art gallery date.

I finally got to meet her family and I absolutely fell in love with her mom and dad. They were possibly the sweetest people I had ever met and they were so accepting of me and my relationship with Des. Her brother was a different story though. I'm still confused as to what led her brother to call me a playboy and a fake. He decided to attack my character and integrity and I honestly don't know what provoked him. Regardless, he doesn't know me and he sure as hell can't speak to my integrity. As badly as I wanted to go off on him, I had to hold back because I didn't want to cause a huge scene and embarrass Des and her parents. Her brother didn't affect the way I looked at Des, but it did make me wonder if I could be in the same family as her brother.
'Excruciating' Rose Ceremony
I walked into the rose ceremony not knowing who was going home. I felt confident in giving a rose to AshLee and Lindsay, but I had questions about Des and Catherine. In the end, I gave the rose to Catherine over Des because I couldn't picture saying goodbye to Catherine yet. But saying goodbye to Des was awful. She was telling me I was a making a mistake and I was starting to believe her. I wasn't ready to see her go, but I knew if I kept her I'd have to send someone else home in her place and I wasn't prepared to do that. It was an excruciating, confusing and emotional night, and I was just praying that I wouldn't regret my decision.

As always, thanks for watching!
Sean

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor' episode 9

After an emotional week back home here in Los Angeles where we said goodbye to Desiree, we headed off to the exotic country of Thailand. I canít remember a season where you couldíve imagined our bachelor end up with each and every one of the final four ladies. The exotic dates of course mean one thing, and thatís the arrival of the infamous fantasy suite card. Much has been made of Sean and these overnight dates and this is the very reason I think the fantasy suite cards are great. It forces a situation and a conversation that needs to be had in a serious relationship and at this point thatís where these relationships are. What really happened in these fantasy suites? Well, as Sean told me during the special last week, itís no oneís business. But what these suites do provide these couples is much needed alone time off-camera.

Going into this week we knew that AshLee has been a front-runner from the beginning. Her hometown was amazing, and the date in Thailand and time in the fantasy suite were fantastic, as far as we know. So the big question is, what happened? Talking to Sean, it may just have been a case of the last two women, Catherine and Lindsay, really making bold impressions this week. To be honest I really think Sean got it right. When you look at these final three, I think Catherine and Lindsay really represent something different for Sean and bring out a much different side of him than AshLee does. If you notice when Sean is with Catherine and Lindsay he laughs more and he seems more comfortable. Their relationships are much more playful and thatís something thatís appealing to Sean. Itís not that he didnít have fun with AshLee ó he did, but it was different.

I really think AshLee, being a little older than Sean and the other women, is in a little different place in her life. She carries herself differently, presents herself differently, and went through this whole process with a different mindset than the other two women. While this was all very appealing to Sean, in the end I think he realized after spending time with Catherine and Lindsay that he wasnít ready for that, and ultimately thatís not exactly what heís looking for. Catherine and Lindsay definitely seem to be more on the same level as Sean. They seem to all be looking for exactly the same thing and are at the same station in their life.

Standing at the rose ceremony as I looked at the final three women you could clearly see one of these just isnít like the other. AshLee was definitely the odd woman out. Clearly she had no idea what was coming. She had all the confidence in the world that Sean was going to choose her. So when Sean gave Catherine that final rose and sent her home she was completely blindsided. It was that confusion that led to a somewhat emotional exit for AshLee. She was so confused and hurt that she not only didnít let Sean explain his decision, she didnít say a word herself. Iíll be interested to hear what all of you think of AshLeeís exit and how she acted. It seemed to be an honest emotional response to a tough situation. Iím looking forward to sitting down and speaking with AshLee next week at The Women Tell All so we can finally hear her thoughts on what she thinks happened. It will be interesting to see her finally get a chance to see Sean and speak to him for the first time since that day in Thailand.

Before I wrap this up I have to once again give major props to our crew. The day of the rose ceremony the skies opened up and it began to pour. We had planned to have the rose ceremony on the beach this week. As the hour approached, the skies got darker and it rained even harder. So at the last moment, after preparing all week for a beachside rose ceremony, we made the call to move it into the lobby of the hotel. In a matter of about an hour our art and lighting departments and our crew led by our director Ken Fuchs busted their butts and created a rose ceremony set that looked like it had been planned all week. I truly canít put into words how good these people are at their jobs. What they do in perfect conditions is stunning, but when they pull off a stunt like this and make it look flawless, Iím just in awe of them.

As I mentioned, next Monday night is The Women Tell All. This is a truly unique season with so many different stories, so Iím really looking forward to this. I know you all want to hear from Sarah and find out how sheís doing. Desiree will get to talk about that dreadful hometown date and her brother. But of course the woman Iím looking most to sitting down with is Tierra. I really want to hear her side of the story and find out what she was thinking and if sheís learned anything from this experience. Oh, and we have bloopers!  Iíll see you next week for The Women Tell All, then in two weeks March 11th itís the three-hour Bachelor finale event. We will be live from Los Angeles with a studio audience watching the finale along with you and then roll live right into the After the Final Rose special. As usual you can always stay up to date on all things Bachelor by following me on twitter and instagram @chrisbharrison.

The Bachelor's Sean Lowe Blogs About Sending AshLee Home
By SEAN LOWE

Sean Lowe is the star of season 17 of The Bachelor, which airs Mondays on ABC. The hunky Dallas businessman and entrepreneur is blogging about his romantic journey for PEOPLE.com.

I knew my week in Thailand would be difficult. This was the week on The Bachelorette that Emily Maynard sent me home in Curacao, so it conjured up feelings of heartbreak. I also knew as The Bachelor I would have to do the same thing to one of the final three women, whom I cared for deeply. And I felt the stress of caring for each woman equally.

I had hoped that I would have a clear favorite by that point, but that wasn't the case. The final three all had a piece of my heart and it was up to me to figure out who was best suited for me.

I couldn't wait to see Lindsay. It felt like it had been weeks since we spent time together in her hometown. We always had such a fun time together, so I knew she would be the perfect person to explore with in Thailand. Going to the market with Lindsay was such an incredible experience. She was willing to try everything, including fried bugs and chicken feet.

After we had our fill of food, we ventured to the beach, which was home to a ton of monkeys. This was one of the coolest experiences of my life and I was so happy to be sharing the moment with someone I cared for so much. As Lindsay and I were kissing in the ocean, I remember thinking about how happy she made me and what a comforting feeling it was. We ended our day with dinner and a performance by traditional Thai dancers.

Everything about my time with Lindsay felt right and I knew I was starting to fall in love with her. Hearing her tell me she loved me solidified what I saw in her eyes every time she looked at me.

Life with AshLee?
I was excited for my date with AshLee for so many reasons. It had been almost ten days since seeing her in Houston and I missed her. AshLee was a frontrunner from the very first night. She seemed to have everything that I was looking for Ė and I think she was the best for me on paper.

However, I was definitely aware that I didn't seem to laugh as much with AshLee as I did with Lindsay and Catherine. AshLee was always very intense and I had to decide if I could be with someone who didn't share my sense of humor.

Our date was incredible, though. Swimming through the cave and finding the beach was one of the coolest things I've ever done. As AshLee and I talked on the beach I kept asking myself if I could marry her, and the answer always seemed to be yes.

I started to convince myself that I could overlook the lack of laughter because her other qualities were so wonderful. We finished the date with dinner by the ocean and I thought it was so great that AshLee voiced her concerns about the overnight date. I think she was really relieved to know that I shared her same outlook. We spent the rest of the evening talking about the future. Once again, I could envision my life with AshLee.

After sending Des home, I wondered if I would wake up and realize that I had made a mistake. Fortunately, that was not the case. Instead, I woke up and realized that I couldn't get enough of Catherine. I was always so happy around her and I think despite our different lifestyles, we were actually a really good fit together. Her sense of humor, her adventurous nature and her intellect kept me wanting more.

Our snorkeling date was fun, but my favorite part came later. That storm swept in so quickly, and we rushed back to the boat for cover but the moment seemed too romantic not to share a kiss in the rain. I knew I was falling in love with Catherine. That realization led me to the next one ... I had to send AshLee home.

Agonizing Decision
I've said from the very beginning that I was looking for my best friend. Being with Lindsay and Catherine seemed like they could be that. I didn't have the same feeling when I was with AshLee. Of course, she brought me joy and I could picture her being my loving wife and a fantastic mother to our children, but I knew I needed more.

I want to create a home full of laughter and I need to share my life with someone who is adventurous. And as much as I wanted that person to be AshLee, I knew that it wasn't.

Watching AshLee's video blog was agonizing because I knew that she had given her whole heart to me and I was about to break it. I absolutely dreaded the rose ceremony. I did not want to blindside AshLee the way Emily blindsided me. After taking a deep breath and handing the last rose to Catherine, I was really upset to see AshLee's reaction. Not because it made it more difficult for me, but because I knew she wouldn't have closure if she didn't allow me the chance to explain myself.

All I wanted to do was console her and give her closure and talk it out. But I could tell that she wanted to leave my side as quickly as she could. Who was I to try and stop her? It was agonizing.

It was an emotional rollercoaster to experience such a low and then to walk back and look into the eyes of two women I loved. I remember thinking, I only have one more week to figure out who is the better fit for me Ė and that I was going to needevery second of that time.

Thanks for watching,
Sean

PRESS RELEASE - PRESS RELEASE - ENTERTAINMENT -

NEXT WEEK ON ABCíS THE BACHELOR: THE WOMEN TELL ALL (3/4)

SEAN FACES THE WOMEN HE REJECTED, WHILE TIERRA CONFRONTS THE OTHER BACHELORETTES AND THE CLAWS COME OUT, ON "THE BACHELOR: THE WOMEN TELL ALL," MONDAY, MARCH 4 ON ABC

A Scorned AshLee Goes Ballistic... Viewers Will be Shocked by an Off-Screen Moment Between Sean and the Misunderstood Bachelorette

Chris Harrison and Sean Take Los Angeles by Storm, Boarding the Bachelor Bus and Surprising Fans at Their Viewer Parties in a Special Feature

"The Women Tell All" - There were highs and lows during Sean's unforgettable season - and then there was Tierra, the most controversial bachelorette of the group. Tierra, who has been the woman viewers and the other bachelorettes have loved to hate all season, will return to have her chance to defend herself. Will she apologize for her behavior? Will she fight back and be her fiery self, or will viewers see another side of her? It's an explosive reunion viewers won't want to miss, as the most memorable and fan favorite bachelorettes from this season - including AshLee, Desiree, Lesley M., Tierra, Selma, Sarah, Kacie B. -- return to confront each other and Sean one last time on national television to tell their side of the story. Sarah seeks closure from Sean; Desiree explains about her journey of self-discovery; and a devastated AshLee reveals what she was thinking when Sean let her go in Thailand. Follow Sean and Chris on the Bachelor Bus as they shock fans at their viewer parties in the Los Angeles area, and take a sneak peek at the Season Finale and the final two bachelorettes - Catherine and Lindsay -- on "The Bachelor: The Women Tell All," MONDAY, MARCH 4 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Fireworks erupt when Tierra, this season's most divisive woman, takes the hot seat and tells her side of the story. The women are on the war path. If she thought she was being sweet and innocent, they thought she was delusional and fake. Then Tierra targets AshLee for their explosive fight, blaming her for being a bully and ganging up on her. But AshLee lashes back that Tierra shouldn't have called her a "liar." In the end, what -- if anything -- did Tierra learn from her "Bachelor" experience?

Heartbroken fan favorite Sarah is desperate to learn from Sean why he sent her home. She admits she was falling for Sean, and that he made her feel so special that she thought for sure she was "the one." She is eager to move forward to try and find that special man in her life.

America's sweetheart, Desiree, admits that she was in love with Sean and that her brother played some part in the demise of her relationship with the Bachelor. She also owns up to the fact that she could have been more open and vulnerable, and will take that lesson into her next relationship.

But the last woman sent home, AshLee, immediately appears upset and angry when she gets to the hot seat. She was ready to become engaged to Sean and walk away with him. Why didn't she talk to the Bachelor the day of her rejection? She explains why she felt completely deceived by him and totally blindsided. But a "behind-the-scenes" confrontation between the two rocks the special, and then the estranged duo continue to battle it out on camera.

It's the bachelorettes like you've never seen them before! The special also includes a sneak peek at the Season Finale and the final two bachelorettes - Catherine, whose sisters weren't very supportive of Sean and Catherine's relationship, and Lindsay, the woman who got out of the limousine on the first night in a wedding dress -- who are competing for Sean's heart and the final rose.

Hosted by Chris Harrison, "The Bachelor: The Women Tell All" is a production of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss and Martin Hilton are the executive producers.

Photo Flash: First Look - Season Finale of ABC's THE BACHELOR

On the season finale of ABC's THE BACHELOR, 28-year-old Sean Lowe, a successful Dallas buisnessman and entrepreneur must decide between two final ladies, Catherine, 26, a graphic designer from Seattle, WA and Lindsay, 24, a substitute teacher from Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Below, get a first look at photos from the upcoming episode!

Having fallen in love on "The Bachelorette," this sincere, reliable all-American guy is confident that he will find his soul mate and a lasting, love-filled relationship this time on "The Bachelor." A real romantic, he loves to make a woman feel special and, as a life-long Texan, holds Southern values close to his heart. He wants to propose once, be married once and live a faithful family life, like his parents, who have had a loving 35-year union. Sean has a clear vision of what his life would be like with that one special woman: He wants to be the patriarch of a family that is centered on faith, love and laughter.

He is eager to be a supportive husband who will encourage his wife to chase her dreams, and to be someone she can rely on to help her through good and bad times. Quite simply, he is looking for his best friend. Sean also wants a big family and would love to adopt a child, as well as have some of his own, as long as he can pass on the values he has taught his kids.

Hosted by CHRIS HARRISON, "The Bachelor" is produced by Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss and Martin Hilton are the executive producers.

The Season Finale of "The Bachelor" airs MONDAY, MARCH 11 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor: The Women Tell All'

I always find it difficult to sit down and blog about any of these Tell All specials because the whole point of them is that we try to tell you all. Usually what you see is what you get with these specials, so I will try to add my two cents as to how I felt about these interviews and situations.

Before I talk about any of the ladies I really want to point out one of my favorite parts of the special, which was the party van where Sean and I crashed Bachelor viewing parties. It was a special night, and Sean and I were so grateful to have the chance to see just how big of an impact our show has on our fans. A few years ago we started calling our fans ďBachelor Nation.Ē Thereís not another show on television that lends itself to group viewing like ours does; itís an incredible phenomenon and Iím really grateful to be a small part of it. Iíve said this before and Iíll say it a thousand times more: on behalf of everybody that works on this show and doesnít get the opportunity to speak, thank you, we love you Bachelor Nation! This show is so unique and so successful because you have made it that way. That wonít be lost on any of us.

I usually save the big talking point for the end of my blog but lets just rip the Band-Aid off and talk about Tierra.

Just so you know, my goal on any of these interviews is to be fair and give these people a chance to explain themselves and tell their side of the  story. That doesnít mean I wont be tough or push at times, but I always try to begin by giving them the benefit of the doubt and go from there. I felt like I was very fair with Tierra and let her try to explain her side before bringing the ladies in. At the end of our talk she came up with an apology and seemed to take a little responsibility for her actions. You could tell, though, she definitely still considers herself the victim here.

The other women let her speak and then had their say but honestly it wasnít going to go anywhere. The other women feel like they gave her every chance in the world to be nice, but Tierra just wouldnít have it. With all these situations Iím sure the truth lies somewhere in between but to be sure, neither side was willing to give much ground on this. Maybe she did learn a valuable lesson and just didnít admit it to me, but Tierra didnít seem to really evolve and learn from this experience. Maybe she was just being defensive considering the room she was in, but I was hoping to get through those defenses a little more and see a softer side of her that truly seemed to understand what happened on the show and why it happened. Much like what happened with Melissa Rycroft after the show, Tierra got back with an old boyfriend and is now engaged to be married. I have no idea why she was being so secretive or guarded about the engagement with me, but Iím sure she has her reasons. I do hope that she learns from this experience, grows as a person and goes on to have happy life and successful marriage.

Easily the most heart-wrenching interview of the night was with Sarah. Let me just say on a personal note that thereís a reason this woman is a fan favorite: Sheís incredible. Everybody on the show, cast and crew, loved her and was very happy she shared this experience with us. With that said, itís incredibly tough to hear her talk about herself and love the way she did. I know she doesnít want to hear it but what Sean said about her is true. She is a smart, strong, courageous, beautiful woman who will find the right man some day. I was very impressed with how articulately she expressed her emotions about being rejected, saying itís impossible for her to not always wonder if itís because she has one arm. Itís impossible to even come close to understanding what that feeling is like, and for once I was really at a loss for words. What I really wanted to tell her in that moment is exactly what sheís tired of hearing. I have a feeling that she wonít be a single girl for long, though, and I do wish nothing but good things for her.

What I really wanted to tell her in that moment is exactly what sheís tired of hearing. I have a feeling that she wonít be a single girl for long, though, and I do wish nothing but good things for her.

Desiree was next in the hot seat. Iíve been asked a hundred times about Des and Sean and I want to clear up my take on them. Do I think Sean made a mistake by letting her go? Absolutely not. Who am I to say that about someone elseís emotional, life-changing decision? What Iíve been trying to express in interviews is that when I watched Sean and Desiree break up, I saw this spark that wasnít quite extinguished yet. There was something very unique about them and it just didnít feel like it had run its course yet. When they looked at each other on set at The Women Tell All, both of their faces lit up like it did on the show  I think Sean has done exactly whatís right for him, but itís just hard to deny what I see between these two. Desiree really learned a lot about herself during this experience. She seemed to realize that she really got in her own way and was her own worst enemy at times. I can tell sheís grown a lot as a woman and is really ready to move forward, and I really like seeing that.

Last but certainly not least was AshLee. I wasnít sure what I was going to get with AshLee. Itís always an interesting when you really donít know what direction an interview will go; in this case I never would have expected it to turn out like it did. Overall, I think AshLee is over Sean but she definitely still had some strong feelings about how she was treated and what she says happened that last week in Thailand. From AshLeeís perspective, Sean said things to her that lead her to believe she was not only getting a rose that week, but was definitely The One. Like Sean said, unfortunately thereís just no way to explain what itís like to be in his shoes and go through this. How can you possibly explain to somebody you care about how you are also falling in love with two other women? Sean obviously loved a lot of things about AshLee so itís not like he wasnít being sincere. But in the end he just loved more things about Lindsay and Catherine and saw more of a future with them than he did with AshLee.

As far as what was really said in the fantasy suite, I honestly have no idea. This is a classic case of he said, she said. Youíll have to judge for yourself and decide who you believe in this case. In the end, it really doesnít matter. Sean made the right decision to say goodbye to AshLee and continue with the two women he felt he had a stronger connection with. I know that doesnít make AshLee feel any better, but if we learned anything about her during this season itís that she is a strong, resilient woman and will be just fine.

I never would have imagined that Catherine and Lindsay would be the final two women standing. Thatís one of the things I love about this show and this journey; it really forces people out of their comfort zone and makes them really inspect what they are truly looking for. I didnít see it coming because Sean didnít either. He really left himself open for any and all possibilities and thatís the only way to successfully go through this. He allowed himself to find, in my opinion, two women that are perfect for him and would make him really happy. The only problem with that is both these women are head over heels in love with him, and that can only make his final decision that much harder.

Next week is the live, three-hour Bachelor finale. We did this last season and loved it so much weíre doing it again. Like I said at the beginning of this blog, our show really lends itself to group viewing unlike any other, and we want to join in on the fun and make everybody a part of this live event. I canít tell you much about the finale but I will leave you with this: This has been one of the best seasons we have ever had, and the finale is easily worthy of being the final chapter of such an epic season. Iíll see you Monday night as we go live from Hollywood, but until then you can always follow me on twitter and instagram @chrisbharrison.

The Bachelor's Sean Lowe Blogs About Women Tell All
By SEAN LOWE

Sean Lowe is the star of season 17 of The Bachelor, which airs Mondays on ABC. The hunky Dallas businessman and entrepreneur is blogging about his romantic journey for PEOPLE.com.

I may be the only man in the history of The Bachelor who has been excited for the Women Tell All special. I had nothing but great memories of all the women, and I was genuinely happy to see them. I felt like I was always direct and honest when I sent them home, so I really had nothing to fear.

Walking out and taking a seat in front of the women was such a surreal experience. Having 20-plus "exes" in the same room is a bit daunting, but I was happy to see them nonetheless.

One thing you didn't get to see was my discussion with Chris Harrison about Sarah. I addressed Sarah first because I wanted to reassure her that she will find the right man when the time is right. It really made me sad watching the show and hearing her say that every guy says she's wonderful and pretty but then breaks her heart. I hate being added to that list. I was happy and relieved to see that Sarah was very positive, and it seemed as if she grew as a person through her experience on The Bachelor.

Desiree
I wasn't sure how my heart would react seeing Des for the first time since our tearful goodbye in Los Angeles. I doubted my decision the night I sent her home, and a part of me still thinks I should have taken her to Thailand. I was so happy she greeted me with a warm smile and told me it was good to see me. Although it didn't work out with us, she'll always have a place in my heart because she is such a lovable person. I know Des has moved on, and I'm hoping she gets a second chance at love Ė maybe on the next season of The Bachelorette? She would definitely get my vote.
AshLee
Now comes the part I didn't expect. I knew AshLee was an emotional person, so I didn't really expect her to be all smiles like Des was, but I definitely didn't expect what I got. After Chris invited AshLee to the couch, she began to tell me that she always viewed me as a southern gentleman and how she was very disappointed that I didn't come check on her after sending her home.

This totally caught me off guard. I wanted to be as nice as possible, but I also wanted to tell her that once you don't receive a rose, you know you only get a brief moment to talk it over before going home. She wasted that moment by not saying a word. That's why Chris Harrison says, "Take a moment and say your goodbyes." I don't want to sound unsympathetic, but that's how the show works.

I've been there too. And I sat on the bench with Emily Maynard looking for answers before I drove off. The decision to send AshLee home was a difficult one, but I knew the other two women were better suited for me and that's where my focus needed to be. Also, had I checked on AshLee, I feel that would have only delayed her healing process by sending her mixed signals.

Next comes the accusation that I did not see coming. AshLee proceeded to tell me that during the course of our overnight date, I told her that I didn't have feelings for the other two women.

Let me set the record straight Ė I never said that. I would never say that. It just doesn't make sense. Of course I had feelings for the other two women. That's been apparent for weeks! And not only did I have feelings for them, I was falling in love with them. I even had feelings for women like Des and Leslie, who weren't even there anymore. In that moment on WTA, I felt like it was an attack on my character, so I began to get defensive. I was so stunned by the accusation that I was speechless.
'I Am Sorry If ...'
To this day, I don't know what I may have said that would have given AshLee the impression she got, but I am sorry if I said anything at all that misled her because that was truly not my intention. I am also sorry that she's still harboring these feelings of resentment. I wish nothing but the best for AshLee, and I hope she finds a great love one day.

So Women Tell All ended up not being as great of a reunion as I was hoping it would be, but I was still glad I had the chance to see all those exceptional women one more time. My only regret was not having the chance to address Leslie during the show. I felt like our relationship was so great for so many reasons, and I wanted her to know how wonderful I think she is.

Wow. I can't believe it's almost over. The finale is just one week away!

As always, thanks for watching!
Sean

SEASON FINALE

IT'S ONE OF THE MOST ROMANTIC AND DRAMATIC NIGHTS EVER ON ABC,

Does a Special Last-Minute Letter Hold the Secret to Sean's Happiness?

Sean and the Final Two Women Looks Back at the Dramatic Ending to

Their Journey to Find Love, LIVE, on "The Bachelor: After the Final Rose"

Who Will Be the Next Bachelorette? Find Out on the "After the Final Rose" Special

"Episode 1710" - In the dramatic Season Finale, Sean prepares to make one of the most difficult choices of this life. His search for love is now narrowed down to two very different women - Catherine and Lindsay -- and he is falling in love with both of them. Having been rejected by Emily Maynard on last season's "The Bachelorette," will Sean now find the love he had hoped to find with her? After having his family meet both women in spectacular Chiang Rai, Thailand, and under immense pressure, he must make one final, heart-wrenching decision that could change his life forever. One shocking twist may jeopardize his happy ending. Whom - if anyone -- does a confused Sean, after much soul-searching, see as his future wife? Who will get his final rose? And will he leave single or with the love on his life? Find out on the Season Finale of "The Bachelor," MONDAY, MARCH 11 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

With his search for his soul mate over, emotions run high as Sean talks to Chris Harrison about his ultimate choice, taking us back to those final days in Thailand when he was torn between his love for Catherine and Lindsay. Both ladies are back to discuss with Sean the stunning outcome of the show. It's the emotional ending to Sean's heartfelt journey to finally find true love. In addition, the new Bachelorette will be revealed, on the live "The Bachelor: After the Final Rose" special, also airing MONDAY, MARCH 11 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET).

Confused and overwhelmed, Sean looks to his family to join him in Chiang Rai and, hopefully, to offer him some clarity about which woman would be the best fit for him. When they hear he has fallen in love with both bachelorettes, they understand just how complicated this situation is. When Catherine arrives to meet Sean's family, she makes a stellar first impression. After a touching heart-to-heart with Sean's mother about whether she is ready for marriage, her emotional conversation with his father brings them both to tears.

How will Lindsay compare? She steals the family's hearts with her adorable disposition and wins them over totally. But what counsel will the family have for Sean? He becomes discouraged when his mother tearfully suggests that maybe he shouldn't propose to either woman if he is in love with both.

Sean hopes his last dates with Catherine and Lindsay will shed light on whom he should choose. He takes Catherine on an exotic elephant ride and Lindsay on a scenic raft ride down the river. Both bachelorettes take advantage of the time to pour out their hearts to him.

It all comes down to whether Sean can decide between the two very different women. And if he does, will the final bachelorette accept his proposal and final rose? Chris Harrison drops a last-minute bombshell -- presenting the Bachelor with a letter from one of the women -- that could change how Sean looks at everything and possibly risk his fairytale ending.

The remaining two women are:

Catherine, 26, graphic designer, Seattle, WA

Lindsay, 24, substitute teacher, Fort Leonard Wood, MO

Hosted by Chris Harrison, "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelor: After the Final Rose" are productions of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss and Martin Hilton are the executive producers.

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor' finale

Itís hard to believe this season is already over. I guess when itís this good it just feels like it flies by. Just judging by the response of Bachelor Nation, this was easily one of our best seasons ever. I really love how weíve started doing the finale as a three-hour Bachelor-watching event. I know thatís how many of you watch the show and to me it feels like one big viewing party all across the country.

This final episode took place in and around the town of Chiang Rai, Thailand. It gave us a beautiful backdrop to an incredible ending. Seanís house, where the Ďmeet the parentsí dates took place, was actually in town and thatís the property where the proposal later took place. But the dates actually took place up where the rest of us were staying which was the Anantara Golden Triangle Resort. This resort was about an hour away from Seanís place and it sits right on the Golden Triangle just above the Mekong River. I felt like both Catherine and Lindsay had very good meetings with Seanís parents and family. I think after seeing what a loving, caring, sincere man Seanís dad is itís easy to see the apple didnít fall far from the tree. Both women seem to fit nicely with Seanís family and both equally seemed accepted. I know Sean was looking for some sign to make his final decision a little easier, but it definitely didnít happen by meeting the family.

I always have a tough time on proposal day because I know the first person to arrive is about to be hurt and is hoping for something thatís just not going to happen. But this season was extra tough. Because Sean is so sincere and has been so open and honest with these women, it has led to the building of two solid relationships. As Sean said, he was in love with both of these women and I truly believe he meant that. In a strange way, I think Sean may have done too good of a job this season. I canít remember a time where the Bachelor has had such a strong connection with both of the final two women.

When Lindsay arrived and got out of the car on that final day, I knew it was going to be brutal. First of all, you couldnít tell on the show but we had a pretty lengthy walk to get to Sean. Lindsay was nervous, but excited for what she thought was going to be a magnificent proposal for her. I really have to give it to her ó Lindsay handled the situation with class and left with dignity. I wouldnít expect anything less from her, but in those situations you just never know whatís going to happen and what youíll get. Iím interested to know your thoughts on how Sean continued to try to explain how much he loved her and how much he cared for her. It was really important for him that she knew how hard that moment was for him.

It kind of reminded me of when AshLee left without saying a word and Sean was upset because that took away his moment to explain. He wanted her to hear his side of the story. What are the rules in a breakup like that? Do you think he went too far in telling Lindsay he loved her and repeatedly telling her how tough this was on him? Lindsay was obviously blindsided by this, and as you saw last night, even though sheís doing great, there are still raw emotions and hurt feelings.

When Catherine arrived, she was beaming. She couldnít stop smiling. She was very nervous but she too arrived thinking she was about to receive a beautiful proposal. I thought the proposal was fantastic. Sean did a great job of finally telling Catherine all the things heís wanted to say the last couple weeks. I absolutely love Catherineís reaction to the proposal. It just felt real and honest. I never get the impression sheís being anything but genuine and I like that in her. As you could clearly see last night, these two are madly in love and doing great.

Iíve talked to Sean several times over the past few months while he and Catherine continued to grow their relationship in private and it has been nothing but fantastic. Every time he talked of her it was with love and adoration and, as you saw last night, that love has only grown. Iím very excited for their future plans together. Sean and Catherine will be gearing up for a huge summer and I canít wait for that. Iím extremely happy for both of them and wish them nothing but love and success in the future.

Speaking of the future, letís discuss the choice of Desiree as the new Bachelorette. Much like with Seanís season, we had an embarrassment of riches. As Iíve said, publicly there were several women from this last season who would have made a fantastic Bachelorette, but in every conversation we had, Des kept rising to the top of that list. She really is what the show was built on, a true Cinderella story. She is that girl next door and that diamond in the rough, and she is ready for her moment. Sheís a sweet, sincere woman who has the chops to handle anything that is thrown her way. I look forward to taking this journey with her as I know it will be another incredible, and yes, dramatic season.

I want to end this season with a couple personal notes. Once again I just want to thank you for watching. You showed up this season in record numbers to watch Sean fall in love. This franchise is stronger than itís ever been only because you make it so. I also want to take a moment to talk about a new personal endeavor that Iím extremely excited about. Yesterday, I launched my new clothing line the Chris Harrison Collection by DaVinci. Itís a menís clothing line that will of course have suits and ties but also casual wear as well. The outfit I wore last night on the show was actually from my new collection. If you like what you see me wear on the show or just want to check out the collection, go to DaVinciClothing.com. This has been a nerve-wracking but exciting last few months putting all this together but with the help of my good friend and designer Christopher Wicks from DaVinci I really feel proud of what we have produced. For more on the line I hope youíll start following me @ClothingByChris and you can also follow me and find the latest on the collection and the show @ChrisBHarrison.

Thank you in advance for your support and I look forward to seeing all of the men out there dressed just a little bit better when we premiere The Bachelorette on May 20th.

Sean Lowe Blogs About The Bachelor Finale

I can't believe I'm finally sharing my final week in Thailand with all of you. It's been such an incredible Ė and as you saw in the last episode, emotional Ė journey as the star of The Bachelor.

Entering this last week with Lindsay and Catherine, I knew I would soon be faced with one of the most difficult decisions of my life. I was falling in love with two women and I truly didn't know what I was going to do. I was so happy to know that both Lindsay and Catherine would soon be meeting my family Ė and I was really hopeful that my family would provide me the clarity I desperately needed.

Greeting my family in Thailand was such a great feeling. It had been almost three months since last seeing them and I was anxious to introduce them to the women. Catherine was first to meet my family and, as I suspected, my family quickly fell in love with her. I'm constantly reminded of how blessed I am, and watching my dad's conversation with Catherine on TV was one of those reminders. Knowing about Catherine's relationship with her father, it choked me up to hear my dad tell her he would embrace her and love her as his own daughter.

Everyone knows that I value family, and it's moments like that make it easy to understand why. I knew when Catherine left that day that there was no doubt she would make a great addition to the family.

It wasn't until my family met Lindsay, though, that they truly understood the dilemma I was facing. They instantly fell in love with her, too. Lindsay's energy and sweet nature won them over. And my family's love and laughter made it clear to Lindsay that she wanted to join our family as well.

The part of the day that broke my heart was when my mom started to cry. She is the most loving mom in the world and she only wants the best for her son. The gravity of the situation and the decision that was looming over me was stressing her out because, like any good mother, she didn't want me to feel pressured to make a decision I'd later regret. I did my best to calm her fears and I told her I wouldn't propose to either woman if I didn't feel absolutely certain I was going to spend the rest of my life with her.

In the end, my family didn't provide me with the clarity I was looking for, but I knew I had their support no matter what happened, and that was just as valuable to me.
Final Dates
The next day Lindsay and I spent the entire day together. We drifted down the Mekong River on a Thai boat, and we finished the evening with a romantic dinner in her suite before releasing paper lanterns into the night sky. It was a magical moment, and I left knowing I loved Lindsay. I loved her strength, I loved her heart, I loved her compassion and I loved being around her. But I still wasn't sure she would be my wife one day. I knew I had another date with Catherine and that I was still torn.

I was so excited to surprise Catherine with the elephant ride because she had told me that was on her bucket list. We really enjoyed the day together. Taking in the beautiful Thai landscape while on an elephant ride was one of the most amazing things I've ever done. But it was the person I was with that truly made the day so special. We finished our day together by simply hanging out in Catherine's room.

It was during this time that I started to understand my feelings for the two women. Yes, I loved Lindsay, but I was in love with Catherine. I knew that I never wanted to say goodbye to Catherine and I wanted to spend the rest of my life loving her. Time had finally run out, and I was starting to really feel the weight of the decision that I needed to make. I had allowed myself to fall for two women, to fully develop two loving relationships Ė and now I had to choose between them.
Final Rose Ceremony
On my final day in Thailand, I was overcome with emotion. Waking up, I knew in my heart that I wanted to spend forever with Catherine, which meant that I had to say goodbye to Lindsay. I've never been an extremely emotional person and I rarely cry, but the combination of joy and sorrow that day had me in tears all morning. I was elated to have the chance to express my love to Catherine, but I was heartbroken knowing I had to first break Lindsay's heart.

Without a shadow of doubt, watching Lindsay walk towards me Ė and then having to explain to her that she's not the woman I wanted Ė was the most difficult thing I've ever done in my life. I had no explanation for her other than my heart was leading me to Catherine. I remember her fighting back tears as she wished Catherine and I a happy life together. Lindsay will always hold a special place in my heart and she is truly one of the most amazing women I've ever met.

I hate that I hurt her. I hate that I got her hopes up for a "happily every after" with me, then let her down. But I truly did see a life with her throughout this journey and she possessed so many of the qualities that I long for in a wife.
The Proposal
After a tearful goodbye with Lindsay, and a bit of time to regain my composure, I was now ready to ask the woman of my dreams to marry me. It was all such a blur because I was so nervous, excited and anxious to propose to Catherine. This would be the biggest moment in my life so far, and I was overwhelmed with emotion. When Chris Harrison handed me a letter, I was taken off guard. I was expecting to see Catherine, not a letter, but as soon as I started reading it, my decision to ask this woman to be my wife was solidified.

I remember her walking down the pebbled path looking gorgeous in her long, gold dress and I couldn't wait for her to reach me so I could finally tell her how I was really feeling. To tell her that I loved her, too. Asking Catherine to marry me was one of the most special moments of my life. My heart was overcome with joy, and everything that I had been through that led me to that moment suddenly made perfect sense.

I'll never forget Catherine's reaction to the proposal. She was so excited that I thought she might pass out. She didn't even notice the ring until I pointed it out. I'll always look back at that moment as being one of the happiest moments of my life. We even got to ride off into the sunset on an elephant. It was a perfect way to start our new life together. My journey as the Bachelor is now over. I found the love of my life and I'm a bachelor no more.

Thank you all so much for being a part of this journey and for supporting me along the way. I can't put into words how grateful I am for this experience, and for finding the person I'm excited to spend the rest of my life loving.

Wishing you all the best,
Sean

Sean Lowe & Catherine Giudici Send Out Wedding Invitations

It's more formal than their adorable save-the-date card. But Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici's official wedding invitation still captures the spirit and personality of the fun-loving couple.

The invite, shared exclusively with PEOPLE, has "the LOWEdown" on "marrying, eating, boogie-ing," and goes on: "Together with their families, Sean Thomas Lowe will marry his best friend, Catherine Ligaya Mejia Giudici, who completely adores him."

The invitation, designed by Smitten on Paper, includes an RSVP card for recipients to declare whether they "can't wait" or have "something more important to attend than celebrating the union of Sean & Catherine."

The couple, who got engaged on The Bachelor last spring, will wed Jan. 26 in a ceremony to air live on ABC.

Giudici has been busy preparing with a challenging daily regimen of exercise, while Lowe, who proposed with a 3.15-carat diamond-and-platinum ring, has said he's thrilled about the wedding being telecast.

"I think it's only natural to have it on TV, seeing as how our relationship started," he says. "This will be a cool opportunity to share the most special day of our lives with all the people who have been invested in us along the way."
