I think Shanghai's a large enough city to justify three visits (much like how I feel about Tokyo even though they always seem to have poor legs there). Given that smaller/less populated areas already have (Phuket) or could easily have (Mekong Delta, Singapore) three visits, I don't see the fuss.

Completely agreed...

If the rest of the route turns out to be a good one, then I won't mind the first leg being in China...

I just want new countries! Or at least some new cities!

But I will reserve my judgement until this leg airs! Even though TAR16 had two dull Shanghai legs, TAR6 had an awesome Shanghai leg, so maybe they can do it again.

From Shanghai, Guangzhou is a long way (I am guessing off the top of my head about 500 miles),Beijing is about the same, Xian is over 1000 miles, Chongqing is probably about 1500 miles. AR21 may send them to one of those places, but I doubt it.

Sure, anything is possible. My guess (it's no more than that) is not Beijing (been there, done that), Xian (too far), or Chongqing (too far). It could be somewhere closer.Suzhou is quite close to Shanghai and is a beautiful place according to what I understand. I do not understand what the attractions of Nanjing and Hangzhou are because I haven't studied them, but they are quite close to Shanghai. They will fir the criteria.

Woah, Indonesia again within....... just two season???

No more Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand blah blah blah then. It should be an India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka destination next OR Australia/New Zealand... but that's weird.

I am VERY excited about the cast this season. It looks like a really varied bunch of racers with tons of interesting stories to tell!

Apparently Brent and Josh have more that their reality documentary series The Fabulous Beekman Boys going for them. The third season of their series is scheduled to air later this year on the Cooking Channel, and apparently their formal engagement party was filmed for the next season of The Real Housewives of New York, also airing later this year on Bravo.
Yep, they're an engaged couple as they live in New York which legalized same sex marriage late last year.....and I suspect production is almost certain to label them as "engaged" when this season airs in September. So I think we might want to move away from "gay goat farmers" and maybe move towards "engaged goat farmers" perhaps?

Yea but have the almost same route country wise for two out of three seasons can disappoint.

I personally don't mind have two legs in different parts but as a geography lover lol I'd like to see a creative mix of countries.

I think Phil has been instructed by doctors to wear protective headware from the sun. If there's any risk for skin cancer, that is often what patients are told by their doctors.
Until the last year or so, Phil may have had headwear on once or twice, but it looks as if the is wearing the summer hat whenever he has to wait for teams in direct sunlight. If its a location where he's not in direct sunlight, then he seems to not wear headgear.
