I have been very plesantly surprised with this show. So often when you have musical/singing shows the people singing the song are unable to do justice to it and it kinda leaves you cold. I first heard 'Brighter than the sun' and 'Cheer' through this show and thought they were brilliant. They were such great songs I then went through youtube to find the originals, but I ended up disappointed as neither of the originals was something I would have found interesting if I had heard them before I had heard them on Smash. Katharine Mcphee and Megan Hilty are such great singers and I look forward to each episode.
