My guess is that this is the order of decreasing probability:

1. a haystack task involving real haystacks
2. needle in a haystack
3. "hitting the hay" (sleeping)
4. oversleeping

They are already searching for a clue at the Fire Temple and at a carpet shop. Could there be another RI involving searching hay?
Physics alone is not enough.

in terms of Distance, I think I figured the Detour Route....

a good line up with slowhatch find of Naftalan Health Centre and Taza/Teze Bazaar....

also indication of the Carpet Shop located at Old Town Baku, where teams pick up the Detour clue...

Spec. so far ....

1. RI : Fly to Azerbaijan, once there, make your way to Atashgah Fire Temple and search the ground for your next clue...

2. RB : OTI-HUET Helicopter Simulation / Underwater Evacuation

3. RI : Make your way to Carpet Shop?, Old Town Baku (Icheri Sherer) - possibly searching clue inside the carpet rolls...

4. DT A : Proceed to Teze Bazaar and find the clue amongst hundreds of apples stack....

5. DT B : Proceed to Naftalan Health Centre and scrub oil to get their next clue....

6. PS : Baku Pier (in front of Baku Carpet Museum)

DT A Location is not confirmed, still spec.

I can possibly see ONE team oversleeping...but TWO? :duno:

And remember the second detour option should be fairly close to the first, which limits things as well.

But isn't that what happened in TAR 2 in Brazil.....IIRC, one team (the Grannies) overslept by quite a bit, and a second team overslept by a few minutes but made it to the start on time.

The Mongolia sighting is believed to be false. Teams 4 and 5 are the usual decoys in that they do not go to Elimination Station...usually.

I'm still on the "I hope hay stacking is the FF task" train unless proven otherwise. I don't see Dave/Rachel and Joey/Danny in any of those previews, so they may very well be the two teams who went for it? If this is the case, then we know what happens. Dave/Rachel is 1st (again... :res:) and Joey/Danny are eliminated because they're too far behind to catch up. :'(

Also, this clue may have been given in the fire temple, and teams could go for it first thing in the morning (similar to the TAR3 FF on leg 1 that the Oh Brothers won).

That's a very good idea. And what joy it would be to see more than one FF per race come back!!

We know it isn't the Detour. We know it isn't the RB. Can't be a Route Info with only two teams trying it.

And logistically I think the Firetower is 20+kms's from Baku central so perhaps there are fields out there ...

I like it!!

I would love another FF, but I hope it just isn't literally stacking hay, unless there is some really unique Azerbaijani way of doing it.

When Vanessa reads the route info (back in Germany), she mentions "bazaar." Unless there's a bazaar in Fussen, we may need to re-work the task order. Do we have the flights they arrived on?

It would be awesome to see another Fast Forward battle with first place or elimination on the line!

Slowhatch,

No, there are maybe 50 daily flight combinations from Frankfurt to Baku and about the same for Munich to Baku. Most of those combinations connect at Istanbul. There is one nonstop Frankfurt to Baku. See the AR20 Transport thread for the one best flight each from Frankfurt and from Munich.

There's a new clip from the episode showing Phil giving his stand-up/description of the "Oil" Detour option.  It also shows Art & JJ, Bopper & Mark, and Brendon & Rachel doing the "Oil" Detour.

I love weird and unique tasks, but I'm not sure how well this leg will go. The apple Detour seems great, but scraping oil seems a little overboard to me. I guess when the episode airs, I'll be able to make a better judgement of it, but I'm a little apprehensive at the moment... :duno:

I don't see anything indicating a fast forward. The one fast forward we got in episode 4 is likley the only one that will appear this season.
