TEMPERS RISE AS TEMPERATURES DROP WHEN TEAMS VISIT GERMANY IN SEARCH OF SLEEPING BEAUTY’S CASTLE, ON “THE AMAZING RACE,” SUNDAY, MARCH 18

CHEAT TWEET: It’s a fairytale themed leg of #AmazingRace on Sun, 3/18, 8pmET/PT & 1 Racer thinks his Teammate is the #BigBadWolf http://bit.ly/yu3kKV

“Uglier Than A Mud Rail Fence (Bavaria, Germany)” – Teams scour King Ludwig’s quarters in the same castle that served as the inspiration for Sleeping Beauty’s castle, and tempers flare during one Team’s walk through a snowy labyrinth, on THE AMAZING RACE, Sunday, March 18 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.  Phil Keoghan is host.
Physics alone is not enough.

I really hope that The Kehlsteinhaus (in English-speaking countries also known as the Eagle's Nest) is the pitstop, that would be so epic?  :hearts: :hearts: :hearts: :hearts:

:yess:  Thanks to the help from our new friend Joost Schloemer, and his website of German Coat of Arms. He emailed me as follows:

I love the fact that TAR returns yet again to Bavaria, the homeland of all schnauzer breeds, but I'm waiting for TPTB to include a schnauzer in the video footage!

This on its surface seems like a fine idea. However, Obersalzburg and Berchtesgaden and a long way by either road or rail from Fussen. Mountain highway 23 is the route for the western 2/3. I am going to guess than 60 kph (37 mph) would be an excellent average speed there.

The rail alternative required going all the way into Munich to transfer to the line that goes to Bertechsgaden. I believe that it too will take about 4 hours.

 Just throwing this out there.  Anyone else think that this guy looks like Fritz Sendlhofer, the winner of the world championship of beards (15/05/11) held in Trondheim, Norway?  :duno:

BTW, Fritz is Austrian?!?   :ascared

Here's a link to the East Bavarian Beard and Mustache Club

Wow, great work everyone! :<3

It seems like a very Christmas-themed leg with the gingerbread houses, the bearded people which look like Santa Claus! And we had a lot of Santas on the previous leg as well! I'm loving the fact that this race was filmed a lot closer to Christmas than usual! There's a great atmosphere with the locals, or so it seems! :colors
I'd rather walk alone than let them throw dirty confetti. ♥

Seems like a really enjoyable leg. I tried to find info on the labyrinth that was mentioned, but couldn't find anything in the area. I'm sure someone else could though, y'all are awesome.

I think it's a fairy tale theme leg. The castle, evil witch, bearded man as gnome, the gingerbread house reference to Hansel & Gretel.

Thank you! So sad that they not, go there could have been so cool. Just like when they have Salzburg (Villa Trapp) for the pitstop. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
