I know the feeling. If this ever happens, Les Moonves should fire the casting people. Think about it, no other team on the Race would trust a team with Russell on it, and locals in other countries would likely end up feeling offended or misused if Russell got help from them.

Personally I like Russell. He was a funny brat on Survivor.

If he's gonna be on TAR, his team may probably end up with the result similar to Richard & Joey on TAR: Australia, I think.

ETA: CBS would be afraid to cast him in TAR because the three seasons of Survivor he participated in (S19, S20, S22) got the lowest number of viewers in Survivor history. He's a rating killer!

I've heard this rumor about a month ago, it does seems like he's planning on going, and somehow he really does, I mean like believe 100%, that he will be cast...

I agree. I doubt he'd reveal that he was picked before hand, since he knows he can be replaced. I think he's just stirring the pot and getting his fans excited for some publicity.

I saw Russell's tweet a few hours after he sent it and thought it was referring to his previous tweet about going to Las Vegas for the Super Bowl. However, now that I see he's on a treadmill, it sounds more like he really is talking about appearing on the Amazing Race. TAR has had a couple of chances to choose him already and hasn't. I wouldn't be shocked if it happened but I'd think his history of leaking spoilers to web sites would work against him.

I don't. His tweet came up when I was searching for information on other TAR versions currently filming. I followed it to his twitter account. Some of the stuff he puts up on his account is disgusting so I have an even lower opinion of him now than I did before.

No Joab, hehe... we were just accidentally saw his tweets while we're watching for a real "amazing-race" news, info, sightings, and stuff... and because there is such a tweet, makes me and other detectives (probably) look through it too... but thats it, no more, no following or anything

We got a bingo! .. It is extremely unlikely that Russell would ever be on TAR. Certainly, he can hammer CBS/Lynne to be cast but the reality is he does not meet the qualifications of being on TAR. Evil Dick and him have no relationship that would interest TAR. It is primarily a relationship show that is the reason the BB had a couple entrants..they were legit couples....Do you know how many past survivors have approached TAR on getting on being cast...a ton...lol....But no reason not to do some self-promotion..I do it for myself all the time.

I don't really understand the hate the Russell, he was a bona fide star on Survivor and made great moves as well as doing well in challenges when he had to (won final immunity in both Samao and HvV). I suppose he is just one of those people that some love to hate but don't want to admit that.

However I can understand the annoyance that the rest of his family seem to get onto programs just because they are in his family, that's not down to Russell though it's because TV producers have wanted to do it. Russell though made a name for himself, he didn't get on programs because he was related to someone famous.

It isn't just about Russell anyway, on this show it's about who someone is teamed up with as well. The game is completely different. And I think he would be the best Survivor to have so far appeared on The Amazing Race. And I actually preferred Rob on this show to how he was on Survivor, others may feel the same way about Russell.

Hantz has no idea about TAR gameplay. I cannot imagine him on the show without a lot of negative pushback from the fanbase, many of whom do not like that sort of gameplay on TAR.

I just think he would not fit in and would make the show a parody of itself which we do not need, and I do not want.

It's funny that his nephew and his brother are having to deal with Russell's legacy on their seasons of Survivor and Big Brother. And you note that the other players are not happy with either of them being there. So the reaction about Russell is not accidental.

Well you can think what you want and I'm not trying to convince anyone but I think my argument on this hasn't been weakened. As I said in my last post I thought Rob was better on the Race, and the game is completely different than Survivor anyway so why would you even compare it to Survivor? And as I said his nephew and brother privately will be thanking Russell greatly for even putting them on the radar for appearing on these shows. And even if there is negative feedback from some those people will still probably love to hate him, just like some people did with Brendon and Rachel. You had probably quite a loud small minority saying they wouldn't watch the show, but I bet they did.

Based on watching a few episodes of his cable show Flipped off, I don't think casting Russell Hantz is a good idea for TAR. From what I saw of that show, Russell Hantz has a very explosive temper and throws tantrums when things don't go his way. I would pity whoever would be Russell's race partner. Potentially, Russell Hantz could be as bad or worse than Jonathan Baker.

While Russell's antics on Survivor were appalling, there's no way I'm skipping TAR if he's on the show. I agree, it would not be a success for TAR if they added him here. I'd shake my head at the idea, not in surprise, but in major disappointment. If TAR won't bring back past racers for whatever reason that's fine, but the hypocrisy of Hantz here (along with Reilly, Lloyd, Irwin, Morasca, etc) racing in an 11-teams of 2 season is pretty obvious IMO.
