apskip, why wouldn't TPTB use the bullet train if it made their planned route work?  It's not like the show hasn't used the bullet train in Japan before, and there's nothing that disqualifies it from being used.

So I can't seem to remember when we had Teams on the Bullet Train before.  Was it TAR9?  Or did they drive?

In TAR9, teams drove to the amusement park, and Lake Yamagana.

In TARA2, they used the bullet train to get from Tokyo to Fukuoka (RIGHT before the Pit Stop...).

So they have never used the Bullet Train in USA TAR?

That makes me want to see it used in TAR20.

WP... When you said, or should I say goodbye... did you mean that they were eliminated here?  I thought when I viewd the pictures before, they had said they heard Phil say that was their 2nd consecutive win?

I am thinking there are 2 M/F teams and 1 M/M team in the finals?

He had said that to an earlier team. Bopper & Mark checked in and then the crew started packing up.

Oh man - Bopper has a heart wrenching story - 6 year old child sick from coal dust.
As the father of a young child, I wish they had won.
This guy and his family deserve the support of the TAR community in their fight against big coal.

The Italy leg is speculated to be Leg 5, so I don't believe they made it very far unfortunately Most likely 7th or 8th place (I'd say 8th place)

It is unbelievable how mysterious life is!  I am freaking out here.  I was contacted a couple days ago by a fellow family researcher of my family line.  She had some questions and I set about finding answers for her and just this morning, I found a story about the life of a daughter of my 3rd great grandmother.  In this story, it said that the family lived near a coal mine and that my grandmother became very, very sick from the dust and even though my grandfather moved them away, she was already so weak and sickly.  Not long after the move, my grandmother died.  So I am flaberghasted to say the least to hear about Bopper's daughter and coal dust just hours after discovering how my great grandmother died!

I think TAR12 used the High Speed Rail while in Taiwan, but definitely not in Japan. I'm not sure if it is the same thing (I know very little about the railway systems of Japan ) and I don't know which one is faster, but I also want to see the Bullet Train in TAR20!
