But why focus on it so much if it is just a Speed Bump? I think it is a sponsor RI for leg two and the winner will win two of them. Like the Austria leg of last season.

It is only a few clips out of >2000... so they are not focusing on it so much, WE are. We have darn few mysteries left in the first 2 eps!

And we don't get commercials  within the promos ...usually. Ford Explorers excepted.

I like Ron's watch!
From the new episode preview...

About 11:50am. :(
Ooops, 17:20 maybe?

I have the "GO" closer to 6 pm:

This shot was taken between 5:52 and 6:06 pm (assumes June 18th).

They may have spent a long time shooting the line up.  Or I could be 30 min off

That's definitely closer to 18.00 than 11.00

Sunset was 20.07 in LA on June 18.

The Core Pacific jump was under the aegis of the Taiwan Bungy Jumping Club, which normally operates out of Fuxing township. The website is Chinese-only, so I couldn't tell if WRP is mentioned.

That's some kind of digitally added flash!  Because the sun is not over there!

I may be able to make another estimate based on some of the overhead shots in which teams are running past Phil.

Why isn't the sun there?  ???

It is DEF behind Phil, see cap 2. And ALL of the racers are squinting as though the sun is directly in their eyes...

It's coming from a place more to Phil's right.  That bright spot may be a lens artifact.  I can't seem to stop the video at the right place to get it.

It's from the same premiere promo (approx. 0:44). On closer inspection, though, the light seems to come from one of the windows rather than a building edge. A reflection, probably? In any event, Chateau's mark (people running past Phil) is the most reliable gauge. Practice speeches and set-up shots can distort the meaning of sun-shots and wristwatches.

It's from the same premiere promo (approx. 0:44).

This is the latest promo I posted? The 2+ Minute one? Because in that one, Phil doesn't say go until 2:11....

??? I can check the others...

Because of the architectural style of Chinese Buddhist culture, I really don't think the bright light behind and to the right of Phil (from our perspective) is a direct image of the sun; I'm not 100% sure it can be said to be a reflection of direct sunlight. It could be a bright light source set up for filming, or used at the temple complex for illumination, though.

This almost seems like the latest local start time ever for the beginning of the Race; I'm assuming that is a late afternoon sun, but if it is not, someone please correct me. (Also means the teams would have "fun" driving westbound into the sunset to get to LAX, since the sky appears to be clear that day.)

After rewatching that video and seeing those three caps I am quite sure that flash is a transition effect used in that promo.

In peach's third cap there you can see how the flash is still there in the overhead shot.

Corroborating WP and Chateau's posts...

Checking the shadows gives a start time of around 5.55pm to 6.02pm.

But if you'll notice, the 'Wanpei' signboard is not yet open at that time. Maybe it is a practice run? ???
