Keluar = exit in Indonesian language; that's for episode 2.

In Indonesia, you drive on the left. That's episode 2.

I didn't even know about it. But between the NFL and the Emmys, it would have been tough tonight.

I'll be checking the site that had NFL game feed information on Tuesday; in the past, that information wasn't available until Tuesdays.

There are 4 cases:

1. It's a contestant hobby
2. It's a reward for winning the first leg
3. It's a route info task
4. or it's a Hazard task

I'd say all of those are likely except for number two because of the Express Pass. But that's JMO.

Great work with the summary and gifs, banzai!

Awesome job banzai!! :jumpy:

The mustangs have been driving me nuts...everything in all the previews can be localized to either the first or second episode...so where do these fit in?

I think a HAZARD task in Taipei or Yogyakarta may be the best explanation.

What do you all think about this?? There is a LOT of wheel spinning in our previews...

DRIFTING: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drifting_(motorsport)

Quote
Drifting is refers to a driving technique and to a motorsport where the driver intentionally over steers, causing loss of traction in the rear wheels through turns, while maintaining vehicle control and a high exit speed. A car is drifting when the rear slip angle is greater than the front slip angle prior to the corner apex, and the front wheels are pointing in the opposite direction to the turn (e.g. car is turning left, wheels are pointed right or vice versa), and the driver is controlling these factors. As a motor sport, professional drifting competitions are held worldwide.
Video:

From the number of vids on YouTube about this in Taiwan...seems like a sport known there...and maybe popular?

Yes.It's the public phone in the Confucius temple. And that's why they need a phone card.

I have not heard popular and legal places for people to do drifting in Taipei. Its loud noise might be infamous, so people who like this can just do it at the parking lot in mountains. There are fewer cars and fewer people at night, so they can use the parking lot to do drifting. However, I don't think it's legal.

Or maybe the drifting was used for introduction/spiel purposes? Like in TAR 15. :duno:

Maybe, but I doubt they would use brand new Ford Mustangs for that. If they did, they'd surely have to mention them by name. And if they did that without having anything to do with the race, that'd be a pretty big sellout.

There are a lot of videos in You tube about drifting in Indonesia. They mainly use the Lippo Karawaci street circuit in Tangerang, which is about 40Km west of Jakarta but very far from Yogyakarta.
But that is an orginised circuit with security bars, spectator seats etc. The images we have so far with the Mustangs look like a normal road.

here is a video of this circuit.

There are also slalom races in Yogyakarta but again in this video the environment doesn't much a lot.

fyi, It's not far from my house!!  :hearts:

But no, I think the car thing will be "most likely" in Yogyakarta. I can see it from road structure (you can see from all promos, it's  on mountains-forest area, which makes sense, because they first stop was in Kaliurang, it's one of mountains area in Yogyakarta). It could came after they visit Bukit Indah hotel or after they had a roadblock.
I think it supposes to be discussed on leg 2's thread :)

Well, I guess we have TWO options:

If it is the HAZARD task, it has to be done before the first Pitstop check in...so in Taipei.

If it is the SPEEDBUMP, then it will have to be done in Jogja.

Yes, I thought the Hazard was the penalty for completing the Starting Line Task last and the last team to check in on the first leg received a Speed Bump, which appeared in the next leg.

And Prama said the Mustang is in Indonesia and someone else said they didn't think it was in Taiwan.

But why focus on it so much if it is just a Speed Bump? I think it is a sponsor RI for leg two and the winner will win two of them. Like the Austria leg of last season.
