The Suite101 article said early September, but I see that as an estimate over a solid date. Probably a week or so after the Survivor cast which will be released on Monday.

Survivor begins its new season on September 14th, which is 11 days ahead of TAR 19's premiere, so that would suggest no earlier than about August 30th, or just after the Labor Day weekend.

So should we expect a site to screw up and release the bios and stuff before realizing they jumped the boat?

Great job markushsieh!

I have no idea where these came from, it does NOT appear that CBS has done the official reveal yet, so we are going to hold off commenting for now....

If anyone has the site link for this info, please PM me. Thanks!

And we will get the vids up for everyone as soon as we can, may be MUCH later today.

I'm wondering if maybe Cindy (of Cindy & Ernie) is Taiwanese. Her last name, Chiang, seems to be spelled in a more Taiwanese way; in Pinyin (the system used in China), it would be spelled "Jiang." If so, she'd definitely have a big advantage in Taiwan.

I am amazed that World Race Productions cast two alpha males on one team. Andy and Tommy appear to have a fitness and I will guess speed edge over the other teams. Why would WRP have done this? Except for AR16 (Dan and Jordan, Jet and Cord), WRP has been careful since Amazing Race 9 and 10 to make sure that there were no strong alpha male teams. They have abandoned that formula for AR19. I wonder why?

As an aside, I feel it is a no-brainer at this point in knowledge about AR19 to project Andy/Tommy as both a finalist and potential winner.

apskip, I think casting avoided "alpha" males unless they had some sort of flaw that would be tested by the Race; but I agree that as a generality, they have avoided alpha-male teams to increase the odds of an "alpha-female" team to win -- and resulted in two such teams winning in a row.

I didn't like that sort of casting to game the results, but I am hoping the casting reflects a return to a more normal state of affairs, where they generally cast the most capable teams, with little regard for such factors as "alpha male" or "alpha-female."

That's a good point to make, TS. It does seem like sometimes they try to cast for a certain type of team to win, but that's just my opinion.

yeah but Kisha and Jen won over the Cowboys and the Trotters, and another very capable M/M team in Zev and Justin

I wouldn't consider any of those three M/M teams as unflawed, which was one of the points I made about the relative absence of "alpha male" teams in recent seasons.

I like that TAR19 is fairly balanced.

The strongest male team in TAR17 were the glee club guys; all of the other male teams had age and fitness issues, and the co-ed teams tended to be dysfunctional.

TAR17 was an exception, it was balanced in favor of female teams.
