    EPG listing for next week:

"Tonight, the race continues as the ten remaining teams seek good fortunes in Hong Kong. The teams are presented with the race's only fast forward [sic]. Will any of them be brave enough to attempt the hair-raising challenge?"

Yep, that's right, head-shaving. And guess what? Seven's advertising has been spoilerriffic enough to tell us who takes it -- in the commercial with all the "fly to..." clips, Joey's bald.

The boat trip would be between Hong Kong and Macau, right?

And you can add Muscles/Bambi and Mo/Mos to the Safe list -- the ads and precaps show them completing TAR Israel's Wine/Shoot Detour in South Africa respectively, and Muscles/Bambi are also seen at the crossbow task in Prague.

So I would assume that Richard and Joey use the Fast Forward, which is head-shaving again?

It may have been there too, but it's noticeable in one of the commercials, too -- in the bit where they're all reading "fly to South Africa", you can tell there's no hair underneath her bandana (which itself is being worn differently than in her usual headband style).

I am not entirely sure we can say there is no hair in that shot. He in particular still seems to have hair.

There was nothing in the preview about a FF  and there was no shot of Joey bold.
I'm not saying that it will not happen, just that we have no proof so far.

Here's the order of tasks, I believe:

    1. Jumbo Floating Restaurant at dusk, fortune cookie task
    - The boat shots belong here, not with the Macau ferry. And why does everyone link Hong Kong to fortune cookies when I haven't seen one here, ever, in my two decades living here? Task is a repeat of TAR:A 3, but in a cooler location. Teams depart from the same harbour as in TAR 17.

    2. Kowloon Walled City Park at night, Detour between tile-smashing and lion-dancing
    - Repeat task of TAR:I. Shot of Matt/Tom are of them running into the entrance of the park.

    3. Ferry to Macau, not shown in previews so far

    4. Venetian Casino at night, baccarat task
    - Similar task to TAR:A 3, but not exactly the same

    5. A-Ma Cultural Village at night, zodiac-sorting Roadblock
    - Repeat task of TAR:A 3. Presumably gate opens to the Pit Stop within. Or would it be on St Paul's ruins?

    6. Fast Forward?
Not shown yet. Sam/Renae, Mo/Mos, Tracy/Anne Marie, Jeff/Luke, Tyler/Nathan, Matt/Tom, Dave/Kelly, Alana/Mel are all doing tasks in Macau. Richard/Joey and Anastasia/Chris not shown in Macau thus far.

I think the Chinese Zodiac Roadblock will be the last task before the pitstop. Mo and Mos and the Big W Moms look to be alone @ the task, and I am pretty sure the ladies are the next team eliminated, so I think they might be the bottom 2...Only discussion/spec

In the beginning of episode 2 they show us scenes from next episodes. As far as I can tell the only team we don't see is Jeff/Luke.
We do see Ann-Marie and Tracie in a car. I don't think we have seen this scene so far in the first tow episodes.

^ They are wearing the same clothes as they do in scenes from the Chinese Zodiac, so I guess it's from Hong Kong.
But still only them and Jeff and Luke not shown, so it has to be one of those two teams to be eliminated.

I was thinking about the probability of the head shaving task and that perhaps another team other than Richard and Joey might have done it (concurrently/beat them to finish?)  What chance would there be that a team like Jeff/Luke did it and are not appearing in (m)any promos because they had bald heads and would have been too obvious, whereas Richard and Joey wore bandanas so its not as obvious what happened to them...
    Perhaps I've overthought this...

Honestly that pic we have does definitely indicate Richard and Joey doing the FF. Joey has long, thick hair, and under that bandana nothing much is going on, also Joey is wearing the bandana in South Africa (similar to Joyce) and Richard never had much hair at all anyway guys...go and see for yourselves.

Also, Jeff and Luke were seen in the dunes giving each other a bear hug, most probably in South Africa in a spoiler video, so I am 90% sure that the Moms are the next out, sadly :( :(

There's also a second shot of Richard in the intro precap (right near the beginning, just after the jetski tipping over -- Israel? Perth? Singapore?) in which he definitely looks bald.

IMHO, Sam & Renae used the express pass wisely. Sam started the roadblock at the front of the pack but seemed to take numerous attempt, all of which failed. She seemed a bit flustered (possibly also due to losing time on going what they thought was the wrong way to the RB, going back to the casino, getting a new taxi and going the exact same way - it was infact the right way) and with only two other teams left still at the RB they handed it over. Although they didn't know both remaining teams would take the penalty, it was to me, the right choice to make as it saved their butts from potential elimination.

Also in terms of the last two teams:

I think that Mos and Mo genuinely could not work it out and opted to take the risk that the ladies will take longer than 4 hours or also give up. With the Big W ladies, I think they are genuinely thought that if they keep trying not only will they continue straining themselves but also get the boys out and potentially go themselves next week. So I think it was a selfless sacrifice.

Is there any rule for a roadblock that states they can't find help from the public to solve the answer to the Zodiac puzzle? Couldn't one member try find a member of the public for the answer?

I think it was terrible use of the pass. They still had two teams behind them, both of which they would have been confident they could have outrun in a worst case scenario. If there was only one of them left, then it would have been a wise move, but at the point they used the EP, they certainly weren't looking to pull away and get first for the leg prize, and because there is so little fundamental difference between number 7 and number 8 I think it was silly. You want to use it to either ensure first place or avoid last place, and they failed on both accounts.

On the otherhand I think they didn't want to get too far behind the pack. At least they are over 4 hours behind the last team.

Anne-Marie and Tracey just had a live chat and I got to ask them some questions but because there were so many people to reply to I was happy I got at least one response. I asked them if they could have copied the other contestants finished chinese zodiacs or do they get messed up again, and they replied 'Sash, I wouldn't copy'.

I think the Kung-Fu detour task was the first task not to be copied from TARA!
The only similar we have seen was back in TAR 4 in Korea. I hope they continue we new tasks now that they are getting out of Asia.

No, Sam did not start "in the front of the pack." That would have been true if they had stayed with their original taxi driver, but with the trip back to the Venetian and second driver they arrived at A Ma Cultural Village in 5th place.

I do agree that using the EXPRESS PASS was smart. However, inability to reason out the clues to get the correct order for the chinese Zodiac does not bode well for any future "brainiac" tasks.

    My two cents:

I believe Sam & Renae used the Express Pass out of fear. Sure, there were two teams behind them, but there was always the chance that both of them might be finishing one after another. In their position I would also flee and let the other two teams battle for elimination.
    The story so far:
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move

Grant never mentioned when the EP would expire, did he?

I think that if anyone was one of the last three teams at a task, and if they had the EP on hand, they would automatically use it to save themselves. So far, any EP that has been used was used when the team was behind in some way.

Ann Marie and Tracy gone. But all the way till the end it was like... great editing.

I'm sad, no more crazy laughters. But yea, they were bad racers. :groan:

    Mo and Mos = :groan:

Sam and Ranae wasting their EP = :groan:

This leg was good until the three quitters at the end. :groan:

But overall, it's great.. great Detour, great tasks and... great teams. Still love that there's team rivalry. Rooting for Richard and Joey to go far not because I like them, but because such rivalry like this must exist and go really long... this will make the race more interesting!!

Looks like if you follow these clues that we have you have 2x2=4 possible final combinations to guess... There were redundant clues too, like "2008 was the start of the new Zodiac cycle" when we already know that the Rat is first and was in 1984.

I think if you messed with the initial order (mostly the Rabbit) you were screwed though.

The Rabbit hops once to the left.
    - Rabbit is 4th.
The Sheep stays where it is.
    - Sheep is 8th.

In one way the Pig couldn't be farther from the rat. In another it's just before.
    - Rat is 1st.
    - Pig is 12th.

1968 was the year of the Monkey. (Hence also 1980, 1992.)
1984 was the Year of the Rat.
    - Monkey is 9th.

Dog chases the Rooster just before it ends.
    - Rooster is 10th.
    - Dog is 11th.

Snake slithers to the left. (Left-hand side of top rack is 6th.)
    - Snake is 6th.

The Horse is two years after the Dragon. (Two possible pairing slots.)
And the Ox and the Tiger are left.

Wouldn't the left side of the top rack be first? I can't think of any logical reason why it wouldn't be.

Actually, is anyone able to tell how they were aligned to start with and what the correct finish position for each lantern was?

Actually, is anyone able to tell how they were aligned to start with and what the correct finish position for each lantern was?

    Top layer
    1-
    2-
    3-
    4 rooster
    5 rabbit
    6 rat

    Bottom layer
    7 snake
    8 sheep
    9 horse
    10
    11
    12

I think that 2 was either ox or pig and the dog was either at 10 or 11 ( or at least something with four legs was there).

As for the correct order that is: rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog, pig

It was selfless, but it was inconsequential in the "greater scheme of things". Both teams were bottom dwellers and likely to remain there until they were eliminated, which was not going to take many episodes.

Mo & Mos placed 4th in the last leg before taking the penalty and were the second done with the fortune cookies in this leg. Though they were one of the last to finish the detour they were also one of the last to arrive due to heading for the FF. I wouldn't say they are bottom dwellers.

What did Mo/Mos place in the first leg? I recall it to be last, earning them a Marked for Elimination penalty.

With their fresh opportunity for leg 4, we will see how long it take them to get eliminated.

I say we refrain from classifying (or dubbing) teams that are still running, until we have more data to analyse from future episodes.
    The story so far:
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move

One thing I love about this season is how unpredictable it has been. Every team has been at the back at one point and every team has been at the front. I think it's not possible to group most of the teams into "good" or "bad".

I'll miss Anne Marie & Tracy.  They appeared to be true fans of the race, ran as hard as they could considering their lack of physical prowess, and looked to enjoy every minute they were in the race.  I'll have Anne Marie saying "carpark" in my ear every time I head to the airport.   Really sorry to see them go.  I'm starting to like the dynamic I'm seeing with Mel & Alana and Jeff & Luke.  They seem to be hitting their stride and I wouldn't mind seeing them both go further.  The dislike for Richard & Joey is widespread thru the teams and a lot of people watching the race.  I think Sam & Renae panicked a bit in playing the Express Pass, but it is unknown how long they had been trying to crack the code before they used it.  They felt it was better to play it safe and now going forward they won't have the security blanket to fall back on and will need to race hard.  Still liking Matt & Tom and Dave & Kelly and hope both teams stay in it longer.
