Even Survivor has yet to air back-to-back all star seasons

I stand corrected.

Is he overlooking the obvious clue that TAR19 had applications and casting while TAR 18 did not?

Let me state the obvious. AR11 came after 10 seasons. AR18 came after another 6 seasons. We can expect the next Amazing Race All-Star or whatever synonym CBS/WRP wants to use for a season with returning teams somewhere around Amazing Race 25.

I also think Andy is just giving a sarcastic opinion. He's funny that way. But I DO hope that TAR doesn't go the way of Survivor and decide to do some sort of All-Stars or returning racers every other season. It's already annoying me on Survivor! And I was already mad that they did Unfinished Business after only 6 seasons of newbies!

asar,

I agree with you that Colin/Christie, Rob/Amber, Dustin/Kandice and Eric/Jeremy are among the finest teams that have ever competed in a U.S. Amazing Race.

I have an additional suggestion, which is Zach combined with any strong female racer. If we limit it to the U.S. then I would choose Rebecca of AR6. However, if you open it up also to Amazing Race Asia racers, then Pailin would be an excellent partner for Zach.

I also think that Nat and Kat have earned the right to go up against the very best teams of the Amazing Race.

Don't forget Meghan and Cheyne. No other team has won as many legs as them in a single season. They were never in danger at any time during their race. The same could be said for Rob and Brennan.

Colin and Christie are one of the finest teams to ever race? ???

Colin and Christie are not one of the best teams to ever run the race but Colin is the best competitor ever on the race. He is hands down the best to ever run on this race.

Well he seemed more like an obnoxious control freak to me  I don't think his approach really helped him at all. In fact moments like the ox and paying the cab driver would have gone a lot more smoothly without his temper problem, JIMO.

The volcano covered São Paulo's sky now...my city (pelotas, brazil) is covered with this crap too.
I reed in some place that the race will begin in Oklahoma City.

Yes, there was some info months ago about Oklahoma City, but there has been no further evidence to support that so far.

Sorry about the ash....  :(

Have moved this over to the TAR 19 thread. :jam:

BUT please remember that it is important to protect the racers until the race ACTUALLY begins. Any racer or location revealed before then is at great risk of being dumped.

So until the race gets underway, NO SPOILERS in this thread please!

Thanks to eveyone for understanding! Feel free to email me or PM me if you have info that needs to be shared or discussed beforehand.

I have to say, it's always such a great feeling to see Peach add new threads for the next Race! Can't help but get really excited for it to start. Hope this means that it will start some time this week or next (but hopefully, THIS week)!

I live in LA and would love to help out with the detective work in the highly likely event of the race starting here, but any sort of recommendations or suggestions on HOW to do this effectively? Let's pretend the race starts on Tuesday and the racers will be arriving at LAX in the afternoon sometime to catch their flights. I get in my car and drive to LAX immediately and then...what? There are seven terminals spread out by a considerable distance. A few of them I know I can rule out (eg. T1, which is southwest and us air, no int'l flights), but international flights are spread out all over, despite there being an international terminal (T4/Tom Bradley), with Air NZ, KLM, AF, Virgin in T2, Qantas/AA in T4, United Int'l flights in T6. Even if I somehow figured out the correct terminal, you can't go through security without a ticket, so do people just spy on them at the ticket counters? And since you're in public and not under contract with the show, can you freely snap away with your camera or does that cause problems? Is there any reason you'd have to be discreet or under the radar? And lastly, are the racers instructed not to talk to anyone if they're asked any questions by dopes like me, or do they mingle? I wonder what the hell they do in the airport while they wait, in many cases for a long, long time.

Thanks in advance!
