The final cities are usually on a Pacific coast state or South Florida.  :lol3:

In fact I can only think of one finale in a state that did not touch the ocean.

TAR 4 - Phoenix
TAR 5 - Dallas
TAR 6 - Chicago
TAR 8 - Upstate New York
TAR 9 - Denver
TAR 15 - Las Vegas

TAR 15 - Las Vegas
New York has Atlantic ocean frontage...
And if you take "ocean" to mean "large body of salt water" - Texas touches the Caribbean.
From there to here, and here to there,
funny things are everywhere

Whatever. None of those cities were near an ocean.

It touches the Gulf of Mexico. But you are right there are four.

There are still more Pacific coast finales than any other region.

I just started watching the Australian edition, and can't believe the 1st leg in this is almost exactly the same as the 8th leg in the 4th season of the Asian edition, when they both visited Indonesia.

If the US edition decides to finally visit Indonesia in this coming season, can we expect it to visit the same places and have the same tasks as the others? Like running and being pelted by rice powder and counting money.

Around sometime later this week/next week teams should be starting to get sequestered If the race is to start in mid June.

Source? Sometimes they don't start until July. Or for all we know they could already be sequestered.

Then next time don't add any fancy effects to it  ;)

I agree though with the race starting in mid-June. Thats how it worked for TAR15.

Any way to move this out of the Amazing Race 18 section and start one for 19?

Phil tweeted about 6 hours ago: Please Say hi to ur Filipino fan :) im #TAR Addicted soo Much .. Love your Show so badly :) hope we get back soon!

Possibly dropping a hint the show will start soon. He is currently in San Francisco, so probably the race starts in the west coast? If it does, it doesn't make sense for teams to head westward or to Europe/Eastern Canada.

So, maybe our first stop is a leg in Latin America?

Probably not the first stop, because there isn't any direct flights from the USA to Paraguay. Possibly though a leg after that.

:'( So sad to read in the news that the Chilean volcano "Puyehue" is causing the cancellation of pretty much EVERY flight from south american countries such as: Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, Peru and Bolivia.  :'(

I wonder how much this will affect the race if they were planning to come over here....

If anything it will delay the race possibly? South America is almost needed to be visited.

Generally speaking summer races won't hit South America, though. It's more than likely to be a Europe / Africa (maybe) / Asia race than anything. Plus they could just as easily adjust the route as needed (much like TAR 15).

I would actually be surprised to see a visit to South America this time around. As Zack said they do not frequent the continent in the summer filmings. They did visit Brazil in season 13 but that particular episode was filmed in April.

Since the most recent race skipped Africa I would expect to see it visited instead, unless the political unrest issues prevent it.

Is their any precedence for delaying the race because of this kind of issue. It seems more likely that they would just adjust the route. They probably have certain events set up in localities around the world to occur on certain days and such a delay would throw a wrench in the entire plan.

Hi all

I am fairly new here.  I followed closely TAR 17 because I was familiar with Jonathan and Connar but never got back for 18.  Has anyone on this board ever auditioned for TAR?  Forgive if it is a dumb question, but I have not read all the posts.
