Survivor 23/24
« on: March 04, 2011, 11:36:59 AM »
Apprently Survivor 23 was supposed to film in Tonga but producers decided to drop out due to lack of accomodations.

Fiji has been mentioned as a replacement

And who can forget the report from last year that the show was going to film in the Philippines.

Thoughts?

Apparently Samoa will host the next two seasons.

Wish they'd use other exotic locations.

Rumor, Jonny Fairplay will return for one of the seasons:

http://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/archives/survivor_23/2011_Jan_31_jonny_fairplay

Not sure about the rumor though, as his wife quit WWE tough enough for the same reason as he did for quitting FvsF, would producers want to risk putting him on again?

Well I specifically remember in the Survivor HvV reunion that Fairplay wont ever come back, because Survivor doesn't bring back Quitters. So I would love to see him though. Hopefully his wife isn't pregnant again so we wont leave :)

Your kidding right?

I want Jane to return  :-[

And to Probst saying they are running out of locations is a joke. I can think of 100 spots of the top of my mind.

Maybe places that aren't beach-exclusive might work. No offense, but land-based areas are good in HD as well.

Survivor: South Pacific is the twenty-third season of the American CBS competitive reality television series Survivor, which will premiere in the fall of 2011. The season will be filmed in the vicinity of Upolu, Samoa, the same filming location as the season 19 and season 20. The show will feature two returning players, and 16 new players to Survivor.

Same thing as Redemption Island, but it will be called survivor South pacific, but in reality it is Survivor Samoa 3

I agree it was supposed to host Season 23 and 24, but I think producers backed out last minute do the terrorist attack earlier and because of the ongoing threat by the Abusayaaf

There's 7000+ islands in the country of The Philippines. Surely the government will be able to give good protection for them for the two/three months they're filming there?

Exactly, but they are probably afraid, considering Probst said they are running out of location, they should be returning there sooner rather then later. Again they pulled out of Tonga for not enough hotel rooms (which is not a real big problem).

Please let it be Jane. But I did post an earlier rumor on Fairplay, and it would be weird if it were Fairplay vs Jane, I think it might be Rupert vs Fairplay of something.

They need to drop the returning Survivor thing. They brought back people who were on their third and fourth attempts, for crying out loud. How about 18 new castaways and leave it at that? I turned my nose up at the last season and barely watched it because they had brought back guys for yet another season (who had too many shots at winning, in my opinion).

The situation here isn't as bad as what you people hear over there. It's peceful here.

I can point a hundred locations here in the Philippines where Survivor can shoot.

Heck we can even give one survivor one island each of his own where they can play the game.

Exactly, it's not really like there's death here and there. In fact, the filipino are great people and I visit the country twice or thrice every year!

Samoa is about the worst place to Revisit. I mean, if your going to revisit a country, do a pretty location like Cook Islands or Marquesas(yea it adds the Survivor part with the bugs  )

I think Burnett or Probst said they will never do the Marquesas again in an interview. But anything will be an upgrade over Samoa. I just hope Samoa is for just one season. Considering they can easily move to Tonga to do 24/25 if Tonga meets the requirements in a few months again. Then again the Pacific is overused. I think the only untapped location is somewhere in the Indian Ocean. Madagascar, Sri Lanka, India, Maldives, Seychelles etc..
