Hey guys. Sorry if this is a total noob question. I was hoping to procure season 14 on DVD but wasn't able to find it anywhere. I notice that a lot of the earlier seasons are on DVD but not the later ones. Did they just stop making DVDs for seasons? Or are they just behind and they will all come out eventually?
They have made DVDs for Seasons 1 to 12 so far.
Yep, those were the ones I found. I am wondering if there are plans for the other seasons to come out as well or if they stopped making them altogether and I should give up hope for TAR14.

Actually, it's seasons 1 to 11 that have become available on DVD so far; except for seasons 1 and 7, they are only available through an Amazon produced on demand platform; seasons 1 and 7 were released in the traditional DVD marketplace.

Seasons 13 through 23 are available for purchase from I-Tunes with seasons 18 through 23 also available from I-Tunes in a HD format.

The only season not yet available in either format is season 12. There was a promo during one of the episodes of TAR 23 for seasons 12 and 13 for pre-order on Amazon, however, that was never followed up with other promotions, and have not become available on Amazon.

Many seasons are available for streaming through Hulu plus, but I haven't used that service and can't tell you anything able it.

Have there been any current active duty military people run the race. I know about the former POW. Was he still active duty. Any others?

The only one that comes to mind is Dave Brown from season 20. I think he's in the Army Reserve (and thus wasn't on active duty at the time the season was filmed), but I'm not 100 per cent certain of the Reserve status.

Actually, if you have a Macintosh product, season 14 - 23 can be bought on iTunes for about $10 per season.

I think Jim (of Jim & Marsha) from season 5 was on active duty. Not sure though, but I remember Jim & Marsha being dubbed as "military dad/daughter".

I think the "military dad/daughter was because Jim had served in the military.

Scenario 1: Elimination issues?
Two teams decided to withdraw on the same leg, and the leg happens to be a NEL. What happens in this case?

Scenario 2: TAR22L1 Sandcastle rb
What happens if the team member who did the rb decided not to rebuild all the sandcastles the team member destroyed, but found the clue under one of them?

S1: I think both teams will be allowed to withdraw from the race, but NEL's will be switched around. ???

S2: This will just incur a 4-hour penalty since the team member didn't follow Roadblock instructions properly.

Are teams allowed to mingle during the Pit Stops or are they sequestered from each other?

Scenario 1: about fast forward
A team chooses to skip the fast forward and go to the next task (let's say it's a roadblock). This team goes to the roadblock and fails after several attempts.
Questions to this scenario:
1.) Is the team allowed to go back and perform the fast forward instead?
2.) If yes, what happens to the team's roadblock count?

But if a team quits a roadblock, it is a 4-hour penalty...

They didn't quit they just moved onto the FF...

Also this is allowed because Brandon & Nicole did it (though they failed the FF)

That's interesting...

IIRC, Brandon & Nicole had arrived at the Roadblock, which Brandon then attempted to complete. Brandon stopped, and they went for the FF. When they saw what the FF was, they went back to the RB location, which Brandon went on to complete (at which point they were in last place). I don't necessarily see that as a quit, because teams have attempted tasks, then stopped to pursue the FF before. I would consider it a quit if it were something on a Momily level (skipping the Detour when they could have just switched from looking for the car to taking the bus).

Now, if Brandon & Nicole went back to the RB location, and Nicole completed it, I believe that's a whole different scenario (as Brandon did elect to do the RB before they switched).

Not exactly "sequestered". In the old days we had ESM...eating, sleeping, mingling. Now the teams are kept apart and there is no planned mingling. Airports are the new ESM, lol. I think TPTB think it helps create tension and drama between the teams...I miss it.

What would happen if a team lost their EP/SP?

I think production would just print a new one for them

I don't think they would because it would make for great tv  Imagine them going to skip a task only to have lost it legs ago.  :funny:

I also don't think they would print a new one for the team because IIRC, a team lost their CoP picture and they weren't given a replacement. ???

Totally forgot about the COPs

Yeah I guess that would happen, but I think there's a chance it would get reprinted because an EP is a PRIZE, not something you should keep with you? Just my 2 cents. :)

It shouldn't be difficult to keep it in a safe spot. Plus, I don't know when production would have the time or resources to print on special paper and/or laminate it. If they really want it, they should keep it.

I don't believe production would replace a lost EP. Production will not replace a lost clue or instruction sheet, or a lost gnome. And we know production will not replace a passport, although we at RFF have been known to help return a Racer's lost passport to a Racer before they got eliminated.

There is nothing said about that. I just think it is quite a stupid thing, since

1. A team with an Express Pass would not risk it and try to not become last (use it before getting last in a NEL)
2. Using it on a Detour (takes more time) is more intelligent, most of the times. A Speed Bump is easy and takes a few time to complete, while the Detour usually makes the difference.

By the way, I think the Express Pass is only not able to be used in Fast Forwards only AFAIC

I think an EP can skip a speedbump, but a speedbump is too easy to skip.
Any team who still possesses the EP after getting NEL'd would most likely use the EP on a detour or a rb.
I read from Wikipedia (but I can't find it there anymore) that an FF is EP-able, but there's a time penalty. (6 hours? ??? )

It is currently unknown whether the EP can be used on a Fast Forward. I don't think anyone can confirm it one way or another until it is addressed in the show.

sometimes a team can get a pitstop clue at first place but go to pitstop mat at last place because of cab driver or navigation problem (in self-driving leg)...
